I believe I got a nice chunk of money for how much recycling I brought! But the cash lady!? WATCH OUT FOR HER!!!! Let's start at the beginning, there was a LOT FULL sign at the entrance, not blocking at all & I saw no attendant there bringing cars in from other lot or anything so I wasn't going to trust that, I slowly pulled in & surprisingly found ONE singular spot open right in front! I wasn't sure if it was a walkway to the front but the line wrapped around the next 3-4 spots so I knew I wouldn't be in any way. I got all my recycling in the first two wired bins I could snag near me, it wasn't until I was in line that I noticed a small sign, not even near the empty cans, that described what materials they wanted placed in specific bins. (There's wired & blue plastic ones) I don't believe I followed what they wanted exactly but they still took my materials! So that's good. I had a broken beaker in my glass & mentioned it to the gentleman doing the weighing & he told me they'd take it I'm fine! I watched as he weighed out my minimal amount of materials & then wrote me out a receipt of sorts. I got to the front, the lady on the right took my clipboard & then said the lady on the left will give me my cash. NOW, I had read Yelp reviews on this place before going & a person said a lady fitting this one's description had jipped her $10 ! Off of a $65 total! Insane! So I made sure to check my money before even turning around to leave, I could tell my amount was $11 & I flipped up the 10 & said politely, "this is only $10, I'm supposed to have $11?" She got flustered & apologized while digging out another dollar for me. I'm glad I read reviews bc I might've walked off & got in my car before realizing, then probably would've been too scared to say something! So that lady being a serial jipper & the state of the parking lot, potholes & no attendant are the reasons for stars knocked off! This place is so far east in Fairfield I might as well just go to VacaRecyling, I enjoyed that place! read more

I was excited I was getting $65 back and I noticed she handed me the cash folded, and never bothered to count it in front of me. I just signed the document as she pointed to where I needed to sign and I walked away. As I got home, I pulled the money out of my pocket and noticed she had short changed me $10! She stole $10 right under my nose! Be aware of this woman! She's an older Hispanic looking lady that will scam you so count your money right in front of her! i can't believe I fell for this! read more

Nice staff, The area is not very clean. The way they weigh the bottles or cans seem sketchy. They have different containers to put the bottles etc. If you just want to be local and earn a few dollars, it works. read more

We come here frequently to recycle our plastic bottle and cans (mostly get from my parents and sister who don't live near a recycling center). The place is pretty busy and on Saturday mornings, you can expect a line getting in as there is limited parking. The lot itself is pretty dirty and you can find litter through the facility. Then again it is a recycling center, so it would probably be difficult to keep it clean. There is a strong odor of trash here, but I am guessing it is from the fermenting beer remnants in the beer bottles. This center in Fairfield appears to be busier than a couple others I have been in Vacaville, not sure if it is due to better prices or not. The workers here are all pretty nice. I had brought my 11 y/o here to help me sort the plastic and cans and while in line one of the workers offed all the kids a huge ice pop which was really nice of him! Overall it's a good place to go to recycle your recyclables. read more

I went to recycle my cans and bottles today and I was greeted with such amazing customer service. The workers were so kind and helpful. They brought me a box for my plastic quickly and even helped me bring my baskets of cans to the line. As I was about to leave they alerted me that they also take other types of recycling such as metals and I found the prices very easily at the front register! These people are fast and made me smile. They take your glass bottles and glass jars, however you don't get paid enough from them to make the trip worth it. I brought a barrel of glass. I got less than $2.00 for them. So yes they do accept these items but to me it's not worth the trip or the time bringing any glass for recycling even when they accept the glass. I'm not doing that again. My glass items will go into the blue recycling container. read more

I had fallen at this property & chipped my 2 front teeth's & had to get my molar #3 upper,back, on right side. Extracted & now I have to go to court to fight that company to pay the big fat dentist bill, that they had promised me in the very beginning, but becuz there were more work involved due to the impact of my fall (fell on my front face) they didn't want to pay the remaining of the bill I do not value this place of business, Be very very careful with the broken up gravel that you have to push ur bin on, it is very easy to trip over it, so please be cautious read more

Today at 10:50am, an employee yelled at a group of individuals with disabilities to "get out of here". We would like to think that this is an isolated incident very specific to just this single employee who does not reflect the establishment. It's not only unfortunate, but it's devastating and disheartening that individuals with disabilities continue to face ignorance and prejudice. We sure hope this individual gets some clarity and understanding that there's no place for his behavior, not here not never. HOWEVER, we spoke with one of the supervisors, and the matter is being addressed. They were responsive and assuring this is not reflective of the establishment. read more

Overall good experience. Staff was helpful and made process very easy. It also helped that I came on a Monday and there were only three other people there. I had all plastic and one of the workers provided me with a large bin instead of me dragging garbage cans to and from my truck. Will come back here again! read more

Dangerous out there with all the uneven pavement. I would think they would fix it. I ended up falling,the basket caught the pavement that was sticking up and down I went on the basket, just be careful when you go there. Totally bruised up today. read more

I've been recycling at this place for about 7 years now. I agree with the other 3 reviews that the staff here isn't always the most pleasant but I have to admit I've seen a lot of positive changes over the past few years. Staff: Not as rude as before. They are learning a new computer system and taking their time to provide better service. The weight staff greeted me well and was very helpful in pulling my recyclables. The older lady at the counter processed my paperwork with no complaints. All of the staff wear recycle zone shirts so they look better and are easy to identify if you need help. Environment: The recycle center is a little cleaner than before and there are better parking lot lines so people know where to go and park. There is usually some one helping direct traffic during busy hours. This place gets pretty busy on the weekends. Despite the staff attitude you really get a good pay back for what your bring in compared to other recycle centers. read more

I have not recycled aluminum cans for several years but was very happy with the service I received today. I am handicapped but had my cans crushed and in three bags in the back of my SUV. I had to wait for the one handicapped space so pulled into another parking spot. They were very BUSY. A young man named 'Bobby' came to my car, emptied my cans into their container and took them in to be weighed and brought me the paper to take to the counter for redemption. He was very kind and thoughtful to me as was the young man on the register. I can't say how grateful I am for their kindness. Definitely worthy of a 5-STAR rating.....and perhaps a raise in pay!!! Watch the workers very carefully. The past couple times I have gone I caught them writing down wrong weight of my glass and aluminum. One lady tried convincing me that 14 + 9.4 is 22.4 and when I wouldn't give she said, " wow you're tripping over a dollar!" I explained it's the principal of the matter. My son works hard to collect and has been saving since he was 6 so that he could buy his first car. Yes, to a kid that's been saving a dollar DOES matter! So disappointed in the lack of consideration from these people. If there were more options locally I would go elsewhere. read more

Just left this place and I'm pretty upset. I've come here before and had really good experiences but today was beyond ridiculous. It took forever to get to the front because between every person the workers would talk amongst themselves and goof off for a good 10 minutes or more. After some more goofing around while I was standing there waiting for them to weigh my stuff, I went up to the front desk and asked if there was a manager. The lady at the desk said no (which certainly explains their behavior) but she would give me the phone number. She was obviously pretty upset that I had asked, because she was extremely rude to me through the whole process and when I asked for the phone number she said it was on the receipt, then said good luck in a really sarcastic tone of voice. On top of that she made an extremely rude comment as I was walking away. It's one thing to talk and visit while you're working, keyword being while you're working. It's another thing all together to goof off. Goof off on your own time! You are all in a customer service position and you all failed miserably. read more

It's the only one around the area, when there was 10+ recycling centres at one point & the prices aren't the best for can or bottles. Now for scrap metal unless you are just wanting to get rid of something it's fine, but to try to get any money for your scrap metal this is not the place and further you are from Oakland the less money you will get.. Over all its a recycling centres and the people who work there are busy so it is what it is, but you might want to watch the weight if your good at math, cuz you might get shorted if you care about that.. read more

This used to be my go to spot however I won't be going there again! Even with a large sign mandating mask wearing the employees either aren't wearing one or have their masks down around their chin. That on top of the fact they cheat the customers has made this a spot to avoid. I noticed the last two times I went it seemed they wrote down a different amount then what the scale said but I wasn't 100% sure so never said anything, but this time I paid close attention and sure enough they wrote down a pound and a half less then what the scale said! While I realize it's only a difference of a dollar or two the fact is they are NOT honest! Stay away!! Find another place to recycle!! read more

I went to Recycle zone this a.m. I wore a mask & gloves and did my best with 6' ore more. There is a sign that states COVID rules. The guy behind me had no mask or gloves and kept getting too close. The kid at the register was wearing his face covering around his neck & is too close to customers. I asked him why no mask & he just shrugged. I have a right to Recycle at a safe business. They are racist. Due to the COVID 19 I wasn't able to sit on the property in my car because I didn't have a mask or gloves. Then despite telling them I have an allergy to the sun that will cause me to get badly sunburnt if I stand in the sun for a prolonged time. They still made me stand in the sun until my aunt was done. Then when I was about to leave I seen them let a person who wasn't black sit in his car. He had no mask or gloves. I believe I was told to wait in the sun because I am a young African American woman. read more

This has been my go to recycling place since I moved back to the Bay Area several years ago. It's a recycling center so it's gonna be a bit smelly on hot days and busy at times, that's a given. Their staff is always friendly and move things at a brisk pace.
