Unfortunately, this is one of the businesses that Yelp reviews are NOT a testament of the real service of the company. CHEAT, LIES, OVER PROMISED, UNDER-DELIVERED. INVESTIGATE THEIR REVIEWS - WRITTEN BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND PAID REVIEWS. YELP NEED TO FLAG THIS COMPANY. Move was 2017. Took this long for review b/c we gave them a chance to rectify the items the crew broke and damaged.They didn't. Move size: 4 B/R household, 2800sq', 400+miles. Total 300+ boxes. Summary: Trucks changed out. Half the crew changed. Rude and inexperienced, unlicensed sub contractors + 1 unauthorized family member on the job. Lerone used my packing materials to save his boxes. He is CHEAP. He lied through his teeth. We requested, were promised and paid for full packing service, full unpack service, full material cost, using 2X 40 ft container. None of the promises were delivered. We watched the crew load our boxes into 2 X 40' trailers that sat outside our front yard. However, to our horror, we later learnt they drove the trailers to their warehouse and RELOAD the boxes into into smaller trucks. Our rate and agreement was for 40' trailers which cost more. Prior the move, we'd shortlisted 3 companies and picked Preferred. Lerone's classic sales pitch convinced us his service is so good that "you can save buying insurance b/c we won't break anything".What sold us was his promise to use SAME CREW to pack at origin in Sacramento AND have them unpack at destination. To win the bid, he lowered the price but then he sneakily cut corners. The nightmare began at destination. Lerone was more than 10 hours late. The excuse: Flight delayed, drill confiscated by the airlines when he tried to bring as a carry-on. Even a small nail cutter will be rejected by the metal detector. A power drill? While he was late, his sub contractor crew acted like on meth. The hispanic young man nearly hit my husband in his face until my gardener stepped between them and stopped him reminding him neighbors were watching. He was asked to go off the job but he continued to handle my belongings. In the end, he broke them and then THINGS WENT MISSING. The new crew unpacked carelessly. Lerone said his crew would wear booties; they did not. "We forgot to bring but will buy them later after unload." LIES. Everything they promised were lip service after contract signed. There were 2 narrow pieces of floor cloth to cover the entire 2200sq'! They conveniently forgot to pack more floor coverings. It was raining and they tracked mud into my new home. 2 of the crew from origin had slightly better attitude. But that faded quickly. They acted like a bunch of homeless people who didn't care about their work or my house, or respect the owner.They helped themselves to my fridge. To cut cost, their system was set up to have them finished work with minimal breaks.Tired and hungry = grouchy and careless workers. Lerone finally showed up at almost 5pm. He demanded payment of balance. If this happen to you, do not pay. Call the police. Make a scene. If they will not unload your stuff, find alternate ways. After payment, he disappeared to get "lunch" at 5.30pm? Of course, lunch for his poor crew never show up. Neither did he. In fact, after that day he took my money, i never saw this man again. 8pm: a strange African American lady walked into my house. I was shocked. She proceeded to use my bathroom without asking. After 30 mins, she returned & joined the unpacking crew, carelessly tossing my things. When asked to stop, she challenged "Do you want this job finished?" I paid for professional movers and for experienced crew, not a bored girlfriend. There was no supervisor so it was extremely awkward and tiring having to oversee the crew. They dumped everything on every surface they could find in no order. Shampoos, garbage bins, liquids from bathroom were dumped indiscriminately onto bed mattresses without bed sheets - yes ruined. Neatly packed clothing and books were overturned in the air into large mess piles like a thrift store. By 9pm, all boxes were off loaded from trucks & half the house were full of boxes waiting for unpacking.This was expected - a job that required 5-6men 4.5 days to pack at origin would take at least 2-3 days to unpack + time to assemble furniture. Lerone insisted everything could be done in 1 day. 10pm: they decided to stop unpacking & assemble furniture. After 1hr of rummaging, all sofa legs were confirmed missing. Crew said they'd return next morning to finish. They never did. Lerone avoided our calls. At basic coverage per California law for all carriers at $0.60/ lbs, the claim is $3661. Preferred Movers, after making us resubmitting our claims multiple times in various formats, gave us a check in the amount of $186.We suspect our claims never made it to the insurance co (to save his rate from increasing).This company is dishonest and uses bad crew. They make mistakes and tried to cover up instead of doing the right thing to fix it. Avoid. read more

Moving is anybody's least favorite task. From scheduling to execution, working through preferred movers could not have been a smoother process. Lerone and his team are phenomenal individuals. From scheduling to coming prepared day of, the movers were organized and paid attention to detail. They arrived on time, loaded up ahead of schedule and took gentle care with every large item that needed to be moved. I was so appreciative that they made everything so simple, especially as the coronavirus has really made jobs like this harder, my family and I felt completely safe while the crew was working with us. They truly re-assembled every piece that was taken apart during the move. One of our bed's is a sleep number and took several attempts to put back together but they did not give up until it was done correctly. From punctuality and a positive attitude all the way through great value and 0 negative issues, they helped us move our ~3,000 house from Napa to Vacaville in less than one day. Isabelle in the office was accommodating and flexible when I had to reschedule our moving date, and Lerone who came out to bid our job was friendly and knowledgeable. The movers took extra care of our furniture and were so friendly. The price quote was spot on and there were no add-on charges. They showed with a nice sized crew, 2 trucks, and wrapped my furniture and loaded in no time! I contacted Preferred movers after having a bad experience with another moving company, who's name is Quality Movers. The service between the two companies was like night and day. I had to hire a Preferred to finish the job the other company didn't. Preferred came in ready to work, and had all the supplies necessary to do the job, and then some. I requested only 2 guys for a large kitchen, and my catch-all room. It was a pretty good sized job, and these 2 knocked it out. I have to give a special shout out to the two guys, DJ and Nick who worked the butts off to get it done. They were both very professional, and friendly. They were careful to protect my floor, and door frame as well. They marked all my boxes...which is something the other company didn't do. The other company didn't do anything to protect my floor or doorframe either. When I first called the owner, Lerone, he was very friendly and absolutely accommodated my needs on short notice. I found his rates to be very reasonable. The only thing I can ding them for is not taking a check, but I won't. Maybe I'm just old, and still think checks are ok. LOL. I totally get why they wouldn't want to deal with them. I will be using them again to complete my move after the sell of the home. I will update my review at that time. read more

Very responsive, always in touch, educated me on what to look for & expect to compare quotes from others. Driver & pickup crew worked well together....inventory took a while but nothing missing/lost/or damaged so the time & detail was well worth it. They are down to earth seasoned professionals. This was a long distance move & the driver stays in touch too and oversees everything. One company was cheaper, but not sure things would've gone as well. Couldn't find them on the BBB site like I could this group. Lots of moving parts to this operation, but they aim to please & respond to any issues or concerns immediately. Good experience for us! The only reason this is down a star is I was told to be prepared for movers to arrive on a Monday between noon & 2pm (estimate is always a window of dates, but it was a little frustrating). At 3pm I had to call them to see what was up. It turned out to be a blessing as we weren't as prepared as we had thought. The next day the driver called personally & from that point forward everything was right on schedule as he said. Came before 1pm on Tuesday, drove off with the truck around 6pm...then arrived around 10:30am to drop off the next day (only one state over in this move). I moved with this company on December 23rd this past year. I would only describe this company and its owners as ILLEGAL. I had to file a sheriff's report. They actually stole several key pieces of my furniture: couch, sofa table, bookcase, hall tree, 2 gutiars, jewelry...etc... Sure they are PROFESSIONAL, PROFESSIONAL thieves!!!! WATCH OUT!!! The co- owner Ashley Thomas and her husband Lee are the owners. Two 20 ish guys showed up on time, on the 23rd. Something wasn't right after only 1 hour, and less than a half filled 20ft truck...they told me "we will not be able to fit all of your belongings into the truck"??!! I had been downsizing, and donating many items weeks before this day. My 2 friends were there as witnesses, both of them stated the moving guys were lying and trying to scam up. Also Ashley insisted I bring cash for a discount. I had $1,000 on me. I took a photo of it and texted it to her, when within a couple of hours she began to accuse me of not wanting to pay her, thus the need for her to steel and confiscate my furniture. ###PLEASE...PLEASE### Don't Use This Company, I don't want anyone else to be ripped off. read more

He was also very respectful of our employees who were working within the space while he conducted his survey. When they finally got to my house they proceeded to smoke cigarette and stand by the truck for another half hour before they finally knocked on the door . Moving is the most stress you can experience after living in one home for over 20 years. My realtor had given me the name of a company he had used and was very satisfied with. I made an appointment with Lerone, the owner. Lerone , gave me a very reasonable flat rate estimate for the move. I was having a hard time finding boxes, one call to Lerone problem solved. Lerone delivered boxes, paper to wrap plus tape to seal each and every box. As any big move the countdown was coming faster than my son and I could pack. No problem said Lerone, for a reasonable extra fee he sent Raoul, who was a serious life saver. Raoul did in 4 hours that would have taken me an entire day. The big day arrived finally..... I want to also say a special thanks to the great team of guys who moved me out of one house into another. Josh, Marcus, Raoul and Zack. They laid down rugs to make sure nothing was tracked in, braced each door so no damage to walls just a great crew of polite young men. Thanks to this guys my bed was reassembled and I had a place to sleep that night. I would recommend this company to my friends and yelp family. I move more often then I would like to. Ive had over five companies move me over the past six years. This was the only company that cared about my belongings. Everything was packed professionally and every belonging was secured. Nothing was broken, damaged, nor lost in my move. Lerone and his crew did a wonderful job of disassembling and reassembling my furniture with care. My kitchen crystal was so carefully packaged I found it in a box inside of another box and well cushioned on every side. I highly recommend them for packing and moving. I also found that their rates were competitive and even beat most. The crew doesn't drag out a move (something I have experienced, since you pay by the hour).
