My husband and I had dinner tonight. The food was good but the service was not so good. Our waitress who I won't name took the order and someone else delivered the food and removed used dishes. She never ask us if we wanted refills on the drinks. The only thing she done was bring the check after we were done eating. We paid with a card and wrote the tip amount down. When I got home and check the balance on the card the young lady took three dollars more than I had written down. She didn't deserve anything, but I was nice enough to leave her a tip. Then she stole from me by taking more than was given. But thankfully I called the manager and he returned my funds to my card immediately after he checked on the issue and found that I was right. I wonder how many other customers have she done this to. This makes me not want to use my bank card, gift card or any card at this establishment. This is the first time I have experienced this behavior here. My church and family frequently dine here. I'm disappointed! read more

4 of us for dinner at 5:30P on Tue. Place was packed with waiting dinners. You would think they were giving dinner away. Got waited on quickly. Had burgers. Canned mushrooms, not a good sign. Only cook them well done. Side salad was tasty with honey mustard dressing. One of my friends had fried catfish. While I'm not a fan of catfish, I tried a taste. It was wonderful. Got seated quickly, but took several minutes for the waiter to ask us what we wanted. Ordered meal with drinks. Food came out in reasonable time. Wife got the buffalo chicken wrap (2-10" wraps) and fries, I got the Sheppard's pie. Both were very good. Only issue was the waiter checked with us three times with my glass of soda empty and I had to ask for a refill the third time. The tab was only $22.25 and the wife took half of hers home. A great value and really good food. I wouldn't mind leaving a 30% tip at these values, but when I have to ask for a soda, I thought a 15% was generous. Always have had poor service multiple times I've tried this restaurant. Undercooked salmon with one meal when they took it back everyone was done eating by the time they brought it out a second time. This is a step above an applebees in food quality but still just a normal chain restaurant with a menu similar to the rest. The staff was very friendly and the food came out promptly. We had a party of 12 and we all got our food quickly and with no mistakes that you come to expect with large parties not to mention it was busy for lunch hour. Came in on a weeknight around 8:30. The place wasn't too crowded. When we were sat down in the very back corner the waitress who was cleaning up a table nearby exclaimed to the hostess seating us " you can't sit back here I am ready to leave". Well 10 minutes of just waiting around she finally came back and had an awful attitude towards us we told her we will just go to the bar and she got mad as if we were inconveniencing her. So we headed over to the bar area and there was trash all over the floor. We finally sat down and a waiter and waitress were making out by the cash register and getting touchy with each other. It was pretty absurd and considering the manager was standing in close distance and he did not do a thing. But fortunately one of them left and we did not have to deal with that going on anymore. We finally were able to order food and it took 25-30 minutes mind you there was hardly anyone there the chicken tenders and shrimp were awful they both were all breading and hardly any meat in either. Although I'm willing to admit the food was tasty, it was not worth the amount of money I spent or stomach aches I endured. The service was also not the best. They sat me at a table with garbage underneath it. Multiple spoons, forks, napkins and chicken tenders were scattered about the floor. My waitress left me waiting for a good half an hour before so much as asking me what I wanted to drink and there were only about 6 other people dining there. I enjoyed the food at the time, I ordered their chicken tender platter with French fries and even mozzarella cheese sticks as an appetizer, but 2-3 hours later I experienced stomach pains and threw up. Me and my party of 3 arrived and we didn't receive our drinks until 30 mins. Then 45 mins until our food. Then ... when we received our food we didn't have silverware so we told our waiter. He said "ok" and then walked to the next table to and cashed out their bill and then took another tables order. I had to go up to the bar to get silverware. Then I ordered a grilled chicken salad and it was deli meat and lettuce. I asked for extra dressing and bread and never received it. Although the guest seating was quick, the atmosphere was noisy and we could not convince the fly to find his/her way to another table and join them rather than annoy us. The menu selection is fair. First order was lemon chicken: the chicken had a dry hard crust on top most likely from sitting under a warmer waiting to be delivered. The French fries were cold and tasted just like they had been ordered from Wendy's. The cole slaw reminded me of eating at Frisch's and was presented on a warm plate rather than keeping the slaw cold and serving it on the side. Advertising hand-made food is a little misleading. When you think of hand-made food, you envision someone cutting potatoes to make French fries rather than serving pre-packaged food. I had to ask for ketchup to eat with my fries. Unfortunately the waitress decided to help other guests rather than retrieve the ketchup I had requested. The second order was New Orleans Cajun Alfredo: the dish was presented with a large chip of ceramic missing from the corner. I immediately set the dish off to the side and requested a replacement. To avoid eating ceramic, I requested that the dish remain on the table because I did not want the kitchen taking the food out of one bowl and placing it in a new bowl. The waitress would not accept that as a possibility and had the manager come to the table. The manager did not introduce himself but rather stated "I understand you have a problem." How rude is that. The manager took away the food leaving me to sit and eat my meal in front of my guest. Unacceptable, both dishes should have been remade and served hot. The menu advertises "Shrimp, chicken, smoked sausage and penne pasta are tossed in our homemade creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce and served with garlic bread." The alfredo sauce (what little there was) tasted as if it was a basic roux with added spices to overcome the bland taste of flour. The penne pasta did come with smoked sausage and shrimp but there was no evidence of chicken. When the new dish arrived and placed in front of my guest, I noticed that the appearance was a simply rinsed bowl and was covered in fresh food from a previous order. The bread was cold, dry and hard. My guest ate her food until I explained the unsanitary bowl to her. That is when she got upset with me, and rightfully so, because I did not stop her sooner. She did not eat the rest of her food as a result. I attempted to contact the location when I returned home only to have a restaurant representative operator tell me that she could not hear me and then hung up the telephone. She could not hear me because of all the background noise in the restaurant. It would have been more appropriate for her to have placed me on hold and attempted to talk to me in a quieter location. My second attempt resulted in speaking with the kitchen manager who did not show any remorse in serving a broken or unsanitary dish. My third attempt was positive. I was informed that the manager to whom I needed to speak with would be in the following day at 10:30 AM. This was not the case, that person was on vacation and was not present or available to speak with me. I was told to speak to a regional manager and could contact him by phoning the corporate office. Unfortunately, there is no telephone number to be found for the corporate office but rather emailing, using their designated web page. So overall, you can see that this restaurant shows little concern for the safety of the public. I would not return to this location. read more

The worst bar service!!! Only couple at the bar on a Sunday afternoon and 2,yes 2 bartenders working. After 40 minutes of your food will be out soon comments we finally said what's the hold up. Neither one could figure it out! It's not rocket science. You place order with a ticket and you find ticket with number in kitchen--whew that's tough! Final straw was the bar tender mouthing "f__k" when we were still sitting there when he came back from the kitchen. probably hoped we had left. Complaint to management was poo-poo'ed. Very disappointed in our visit. Unorganized hostesses with a long wait time while other similar size parties went ahead after putting their names in after ours. We then waited for an hour and a half for 5 orders total resulting in the server asking if we would like some soup on the house. Overall it was great food but the experience was very disappointing and we will not be going back unless an option of online ordering is instilled. Went to the Northgate Cheddar's a few days ago. We had a party of 8 which I know can sometimes be difficult. They told us it would be 15 or 20 minutes due to it being a shift change. Since this is a restaurant a shift change should be easy, right? Evidently not. About 45 minutes later as we sat and watched people come in and get seated I went up to the hostess and asked when our table would be ready. She started looking on her list and I noticed a pen had been placed over our name and 5 or 6 parties listed below us had been crossed off the list. Then she proceeded to give me the shift change excuse again. I'm sorry but if you are in the restaurant business, a shift change shouldn't be the big event they were making it out to be. I called Longhorn's and they told us to come over and they would seat us within 15 minutes. We left Cheddar's, went to Longhorn's and were seated almost immediately. The manager was extremely professional and our food was delicious. I think it will be quite a while before Cheddar's gets my business again! read more

previous reviews mention poor service, and while i usually believe those guys don't get paid enough for me to bother forming negative opinions about how well they do their jobs, i have to agree. for starters, the host gave us an already-vibrating table pager, and didnt seem to understand when i explained that that was a problem. eventually that was resolved though and we got a seat much sooner than expected. our server seemed distracted and detached at first, but he warmed up and was friendlier as the night went on. from what i could gather some other customers had started an altercation with him before we got there. other diners take note: your shitty attitudes have a direct impact on the moods of the people you expect to happily serve you, and the dining experiences of yourself and others. anyway, the food came out super quick and was really good. dont know if id deal with all the awkwardness again for it tho read more

My GF's salmon was awesome, but my steak was so overcooked and dried out that even steak sauce couldn't revive it. After we ordered, I asked for a strawberry texas swirl alcoholic drink. Well, it took 25 minutes to receive that. She waited until the guy she knew left to give it to me. As well as one table ahead of us and then our food.. When I did receive it, it was already watered down, so it was ready she just hit it when she chose to. We all got our food after it had been sitting for maybe 20 mins. Wasnt even hot like it should've been. It was warm but like sitting out for 10 mins warm turning cold.My sister got a plain caesar salad (no chicken) well she brings it out with Turkey all over it. My mom only ate a couple bites she said it was disgusting and the steak tasted funky. My country fried steak was waaaaay over cooked. My meat was hard and gross. My mac n cheese was watered down and disgusting as well. My moms fiance's hamburger was supposed to be well done and wasnt. I visited with my friend on a Thursday night. The restaurant was busy and understaffed. The manager acknowledged this right up front which I appreciate. Refills still arrived in a timely fashion and our service was fine if not stellar. We shared the onion rings which were served with two sauces and were delicious! For my entree, I ordered the Spagsagna with marinara. It was gross. I ate three bites and stopped. Greasy noodles clumped together with flavorless cheese is not my jam. My teenage son did enjoy the leftovers for breakfast the next day. I don't have plans to return anytime soon. read more

Our server, Amanda, was quick with the drink refills & got the refills correct everytime (unsweet tea & sweet tea). She also recommended the ribs. Today my girlfriend and I went to Cheddars for a late lunch around 2:30-3:00pm. We got sat in a booth and it took about 7 minutes to be greeted. After we ordered pop and tea, we waited a little while and our server never came back. We then went to the hostess and asked to sit in a different section with a good server. Our new server gave us our drinks and queso (the sprite was out of syrup and gross), and took our order. I ordered the chicken caeser pasta salad. My salad was DRENCHED in dressing. There was no way to eat it. I told our server and she took it off our check. Now, after all of this, she didn't apologize, and neither one of the managers stopped by our table. This restaurant has really gone downhill. I used to go all the time because it was one of my favorites, but after today I will not be back. I've worked in restaurants for ten years and have never worked anywhere that a manager didn't stop by a table when something was wrong. Cheddars - get all new servers, because yours are terrible. Also, get new cooks too. And definitely get new managers, or remind them of their job description. read more

Reviewers please remember this restaurant is still new, hasn't even been a year yet. It is very popular as Colerain has been desperate for a new restaurant like Cheddar's for years. I'm sure the staff and management feels a bit overwhelmed. Give it time to work out the kinks. I was there at 9:00 pm last night and there was still a wait with every seat filled. It's a great place for families as the food is decent for the price with large portions. Great décor and a fun atmosphere. I did notice the women's restroom needed some tending to and tables weren't cleaned for 15 mins or more. Hoping they get on track because it is a great restaurant! read more

15 minute wait at 3pm on Friday. Ordered cx fingers. Good portion but dry and OVERCOOKED!!!!! Ask for manager, he said he was sorry but offered nothing for the bad prepared entree. Waiter was ok, never refilled our drinks or offered. We eat at the one in Clearwater Fla. During the winter season and NEVER have a bad meal there. In cincinnati you can eat in the bar without waiting(if available) but that does not include any booths, not that way in Fla. The food was hot the chicken was juicy I have no complaints about the food, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it took a while to get the food, but that's because they are busy all the time. After waiting more than 30 minutes with people who got there before we did, (also parties of two), we left. The food was great. I would love to go back, if they got all new management. When trying to schedule a reservation the manager told us that they don't do that and was extremely rude over the phone. We went anyways because it was the birthday girls place of choice, and when we arrived they wouldn't let anybody be on the same check because we had to be placed at different tables because we didn't make a reservation!! They let people at the same table be on joint checks but nobody from different tables, including parents and children. The waitress was also extremely rude to everyone there. Absolutely horrible!!! Wrong drink brought to my table after waiting 15minutes for the drink. When the food came out I tried the green beans and they were absolutely awful!!! My boyfriends steak looked like a bunch of steaks thrown together and over cooked. My chicken was so dried out and burnt on every edge.
