Went to kitchen social a couple weeks ago for lunch. Business was booming which was good to see. We sat at the bar. Service was kind of strange. Food came pretty fast but the mixed up our order. They brought the ceasar salad out instead of the salad we actually ordered. When we told them, they brought out the correct salad. But then they charged us for both salads. Carrot hummus was bomb. Mandy seated us right away even though they were busy and we didn't have a ressie. Then my drink came...my hand crafted cocktail --the Social Sunrise was creative, balanced and delish! Made a reservation late afternoon for the same day. Definitely recommend a reservation, particularly on a weekend. The place was very busy and even with the reservation we had a wait. It was also pretty loud but we were seated behind the bar where it was much quieter. We enjoyed the tuna bowl and twin filets as well as a couple desserts. I came here with my best friend, we parked on the street, walked in and was greeted immediately. We were seated. Reviewed the menu and then I asked for a recommendation which I ordered. Spouse and I usually choose to dine out at Cincinnati's many wonderful ethnic restaurants, but when we want "regular" food, Kitchen Social always is at the top of our list. Both the service and food are exceptional in our opinion, and the atmosphere, although noisy, is upbeat and fun. We have been trying to go to Kitchen Social for a while. Not knowing the hours, we've always shown up too early in the week for lunch. They are only open after 3:00 on Mondays - Wednesdays. We were meeting a friend for lunch. Due to rescheduling a couple times, we ended up meeting on a Thursday. We took the opportunity to check out Kitchen Social. On Thursdays (and Fridays/Saturdays) they open at 11:00. We all arrived separately, but nearly together a bit before 11:00. Even though it was chilly, we decided to wait outside until the doors opened. Someone came to the door and welcomed us in early, which was very much appreciated. Our server was fantastic. We asked for recommendations and we followed them to a tee! Her help was appreciated because the menu has a lot of options. Two of us ordered the MEDITERRANEAN SALMON - Sixty South salmon, shaved vegetables, dukkah, feta, herb tahini, traditional hummus, lemon vinaigrette. It was delicious and it was a lot of food. The hummus was an interesting addition to the meal. It was great. Mark had the BLACKENED CHICKEN Sandwich - Avocado puree, chipotle crema, heirloom tomato, multi-grain toast with a side salad. He very much enjoyed his sandwich. We were a bit full, but opted to share a dessert. The Banana Caramel Cake w/ cinnamon cream and cinnamon crunch was fantastic and perfect to share. I'll admit I could eat the whole dessert, but I'm glad we shared. I'm so happy we finally made it to Kitchen Social. Oh.. we were the first customers at 11:00. By the time we left every table was full. We didn't expect to need reservations given we were there when the doors opened, but I recommend making reservations nonetheless. The sangria I got was super sweet but overall good. My husband got a Buffalo Trace old fashioned and enjoyed it. We started with the cheddar and scallions biscuits and the butter made these biscuits but they were also super moist and delicious. We met for an early dinner at 5pm so got seated right away but it wasn't long after people were waiting. We had to start with the biscuits we had heard so much about and they didn't disappoint! Since we were a table of 4, we also got the whipped ricotta app, which was very good as well but if only ordering one, definitely stick with the biscuits! First the good, the ambiance of this place is great. Nice well lit safe feeling area, consolidated parking garages mean you are reasonably close to any of the restaurants in this area without having to walk too far The middle ground was the food. It was good but not great for the prices. It is in an upscale area so prices being a bit proud is to be expected. If we stopped here I would have left a 4 or possibly 5 star review. The big problem was the service.... Our server was arrogant and just plain bad at his job. Add to this when I finally gave up on him and went to the bar for a refill of iced tea the person at the bar wasn't much better. My sister, husband and best friend visited this place for dinner. We visited on a Saturday night and were able to call in and get reservations hours before we were looking to dine. They answered the phone promptly and assisted with making our reservation and sent a confirmation text. The restaurant itself was very light and airy a mix of upscale casual. There is also an open kitchen concept and you can see food preparation from most seating areas. We started off with the biscuits, which were heavenly, we should've gotten two orders. It wasn't very busy so the parking was easy and close. We ordered the biscuits because we had seen so many reviews about it, but they were pretty crunchy and hard, so we will have to try them again on the next visit. Also, we ordered the chicken tenders, which were OK. Those are also kind of crunchy and hard. We will go back and try different dishes. Very open, breezy dining space in Montgomery. We were a party of four on a Sunday evening. There was a wait for a low-top table so we sat at the bar, a few feet from the hostess area. Bar tender was great- and our drinks were perfect. Found this hidden gem recently when traveling through Montgomery. Beautiful restaurant, although oddly setup with entrance and exit. Didn't like coming into the restaurant from the parking garage and having my first impression be walking past the restrooms. Nonetheless, service was fair for a Friday early evening (4pm). Wasn't happy that we had to sit in the bar area to obtain happy hour prices (to say there is limited seating and makes one's stay longer is an understatement). And we were told several times reservations are not optional during happy hour. Food however was delicious! Must try the cheddar scallion biscuits and whipped feta as an appetizer. The food was once again delicious, two of us got burgers and the other two got the chicken and sweet potato hash! The space is great but does tend to get pretty loud when they are busy. Last time our service was great, but this time it was lacking. Our drinks were dry a couple times throughout the meal and at one point our server disappeared for at least 15 minutes when we needed something. Other than the service, it really is a great place! I brought my younger brother here at 6:30 on a Sunday evening. We were seated immediately at a high top near the bar. The place was packed and loud, but the atmosphere was great. The wedge salad was my favorite by far. The iceberg was perfectly chilled and crisp, and the greens underneath were dressed separately, making a really nice contrast between the two. If I were to come back, I may just order two of these and call it a day. The entrees, while not huge standouts, were still very delicious. The pasta was a bit soft for my taste but the flavor made up for it--I was really happy with this choice. My brother's snapper was great. Flaky, meaty fish, a nice crab topping, and a delicious sauce to go along with it. The cauliflower fried rice was a bit of a letdown. It was deliciously seasoned, nicely fried, and served with a tasty yum yum sauce. A good start to the meal. I felt it was maybe missing a bit of salt or other seasoning to really make it perfect, but overall was still quite good. My wife also ordered shrimp, going with the Tempura Shrimp Bowl. The bowl had a bed of rice and veggies, and the shrimp were covered in a scrumptious chili lime glaze. My brother ordered the Fish N' Chips, and I tried a bite.
