Usually I am not one to complain as I also work in the service industry but he had made eye contact with us several times and did not bother to come over, prioritizing his other tables. We were in from out of town and staying in Delhi with family. We had lunch in Mason and were having dinner in West Chester so we stopped here to pass the time until dinner. We were in Finneytown to drive by my old house. I intended to just have a drink or two, but Mark ordered some wings. First the beer. We both ordered tall Fuse Blackberry Blonde Ales from Cartilage Brewery. It was fruity and refreshing. I did not feel like I was drinking beer, but I enjoyed it and ordered a second. Honestly, I was glad they had local brews in addition to their standard mass produced brews - no thank you very much. On the the wings... 10 boneless with a new sauce mixed with Old Bay Seasoning. I intended to just try one or two, but ended up eating my fair share. I was afraid they'd be too spicy for my taste, but I very much enjoyed them! They definitely had a kick, but with a touch of the cooling bleu cheese sauce, they were perfectly delicious bites. The patio was comfortable and breezy. As a vegetarian, I wasn't expecting much from a wings place and my last review in 2013 backs up that point. Then I caught wind of the fact that they have Cauliflower Wings. For a local chain and a wings place at that, I was completely blown away by our last dining experience. In fact, the only complaint I have is the bench was uncomfortable and you could feel every movement of the group seated behind you. They actually had a fair amount of tasty cocktails, so I started with a mule. We shared an order of the Cauliflower Wings and the Southwest Cheesy Bread (creamy Mexican Panela cheese, charred and served over toasted garlic bread, served with chipotle lime sauce, cilantro and avocado). This bread was probably the secret star of the meal. For dessert, we shared an order of the Chocolate Croissant (two fried puff pastries filled with rich and creamy chocolate, topped with vanilla ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauces and powdered sugar). For a chain wing place they are doing things right. I recently visited on a Tuesday so we were able to take advantage of their wing night special. We ordered a total of 15 wings- 10 regular wings and 5 boneless. We also opted to try a variety of sauces- bourbon barbecue, sweet Thai chili- and our favorite garlic Parmesan. I know...I know..I know. It is a sports bar. It is like every other sports bar. In fact, the name of this one is like the bargain brand version of BW3s. I think they even bank on the fact that some people will get confused and show up here instead. And you know what? It's great! This particular location has the recipe for success. The layout is fluid, the bar has a ton of seating, the tvs are everywhere...blah....blah..blah...go sports ball. BUT WAIT!!! The menu has fried cauliflower for the vegetarians. And they put ANY SAUCE ON IT YOU WANT. I am not kidding! I don't have to go with the potato wedges or moz sticks or steal the celery from the wings plate. Oh my goodness... I ordered the cauliflower wings. I was extremely hesitant because I hate cauliflower but I'm trying to eat healthier. Holy moly; they tasted like chicken wings. It was insane. This review isn't about this particular location, but about the restaurant chain overall. I chose this location because this is where my local food delivery comes from. Buffalo Wings & Rings have been my favorite wings for decades! I first had them in a tiny restaurant in Florence, KY in the 90's, before they were bought out in the early 2000's. Back then, the "Rings" were curly fries. Now I do miss their Cajun dusted curly fries, and wish they would bring them back, however their parmesan garlic aioli fries are definitely a decent replacement! The wings are on a whole different level here. Big, meaty, juicy, perfectly crispy and satisfying. I remember taking an ex here that was used to BW3, and they were totally blown away with what buffalo wings could be! I'm a bit of a purist, so I always get Original hot (buffalo), extra wet, (I love my wings swimming). This is the same way I've gotten them since the 90's. It's pretty standard for buffalo sauce, but to me, standard is delicious. Tangy, spicy without blowing out the flavor, a classic. (Also, way better than B-Dubs. The sauce there, especially the original hot, just seems so inconsistent). What puts this place above others, (other than the quality of their wings in general) is their bleu cheese dipping sauce. It is life changing! I never knew I liked bleu cheese dressing until I tried it here all those decades ago. Even now after changing owners, it hasn't changed, other than the quality getting even better. It's incomparable! Thick, creamy, big chunks of bleu cheese, those celery seeds, and other secret magic they put in it is simply divine. I hope they never change the recipe. I always order extra, because I'm a fiend for this stuff, and it never goes to waste. The way the flavor pairs and mixes with the original style sauce is crave inducing. I simply couldn't go on about their bleu cheese enough! They have definitely gotten more expensive over the years, but that hasn't stopped me, just slowed me down a little. I'm also glad they've paired with delivery services, although the delivery fee tends to be a bit on the high side. This is really the only fault I could come up with. Personally I think this is the gold standard of wings in the area. If you have a poor experience at one location, try another location. Their food can't be beat! This is definitely a family and friend run environment and the quality of service and care to detail definitely show. Food: I am a BIG FAN of the boneless wings/chicken tenders. Life hack: order the chicken tenders- you get more meat for less cost. As someone who loves sauce, the blue cheese sauce is thick and AMAZING. Their chips are also so tasty to dip in the chips if you wanted to get crazy with a cheaper appetizer. Service: I have always received wonderful friendly service here. You can pick any sauce, but I prefer the old standby...mild buffalo. The wings are good, but not remarkable...I think what makes them special is their blue cheese dipping sauce which has tons of chunks of blue cheese in it and is super tasty! Similarly to Little Caesar's, it found much success into the mid-90s, but kind of fizzled as far as popularlity goes. Recently, however, they've started to make a comeback [Thankfully for BWR; I couldn't really care less about a $5 Hot N Ready]. This particular BWR is owned and operated by a local family, and the restaurant and bar has been in the works for a few years. Last night we finally saw the grand opening and, consequently, all of the hard work the Rose family put in to making it happen. The amenities inside do not disappoint, as the decor is minimal and easy on the eyes. The dining area is a decent size, and because there has been so much hype surrounding its opening, the place was packed. The bar (and bartenders for that matter) was inviting, though it could use some additions in its collection of booze. Though I didn't eat last night, the food looked amazing. And from what I heard from everyone, it all tasted great as well. I can see this BWR being a fantastic one to spend Sunday afternoons watching the NFL on its plethora of big screen TVs. The patio seating is perfect for a nice night, as there is also a flat screen TV that accommodates the outdoor visitors. Even better, it's within walking distance from home. read more
