The dry smoked wings
Robin S.

I placed my order at 3:12 p.m., right after they opened at 3:00. I walked in and the restaurant was empty and clean. I was greeted right away by the person at the bar and she went to get my order. When I got home and opened the food, both burgers were hot, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The fries were okay. The problem was the wings. They were not fresh. They tasted a couple of days old, they were dry, and there was barely any garlic Parmesan on them. My guest was disappointed because she does not eat beef, so the wings were her only option. I live down the street, so this was disappointing. I am not sure I will go back after this. Check your food before leaving this restaurant.

It was the first day of spring and it was warm out, so High Grain in Brentwood was hopping! We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday, we couldn't find any seat outside but even though inside was very busy as well, there were quite a few open tables. This place is huge! We ordered our dinners and drinks at the bar, the bartender handed us our drinks and a number for our table and we sat down and relaxed as we waited for our food to come out. Even though the were slammed, our food came out in about 20 minutes. I got a salad that was delicious and my husband got the wings, which he liked as well.

Love my neighborhood brewery. Sometimes it can be a bit loud, but what brewery isn't!? There's a lot of seating inside, outside, hi tops or low. There's always a game or three to watch and it's easy to pop in for a quick drink or bite or sit and hang a while. Food options are great and there's always a changing seasonal menu to keep things interesting. The nachos are one of my faves and could feed 5 of us easily! Service is usually quick and always friendly.

Love the feel of the place large patio that was overflowing on a sunny Saturday. The inside is cool with plenty of tables and TV's for March madness. I love that they had the Girl Scouts in to sell cookies and a pop up bakery. Solid beer selection and still had a few dark beers available. I had the smoked wings with habanero sauce. Very saucy and so hot I could not tell if they were smoked. Meaty, tasty and overall very good. My wife had the Avocado salad with blackened chicken. Overall a very solid brewery experience

I am shocked that I have never been before. As a lover of breweries, beer, and good food I adored this place. I went with my boss for an early dinner and we got a large assortment of foods. We got the deluxe fried chicken sammy, quesadillas, cheese curds, and a delicous burrata salad. All of it was super good. The bread on the sandwich was amazing, and the breading on the chicken was flavorful and crunchy. As a Wisconsinite, the cheese curds are most definitely approved! They were crunchy and creamy, and the house made ranch made it 10x better. The service was amazing, I didn't interact a ton with the employees but the gm said hi to us and was very nice and friendly. The space itself is very large and has a lot of seating. Theres a pool table in the back that I will have to try next time I go, as well as the bakery desserts from a local vendor that I didn't try. Highly highly recommend!

Went here for the Kentucky Derby. There was a nice crowd. Lots of TV's to watch the race on. Lots of people having parties here. The outdoor space looked awesome. We had the pretzel, cheese curds, ranch brined chicken sandwich, and fries. The highlight was the cheese curds. Not sure how a Wisconsin purist would feel about these cheese curds because they are cubed shape. However I was a big fan of them. Good ranch for dipping. Service was good. Food didnt take too long which is nice considering how busy they were. Lots of parking.

Brentwood Bowl memorabilia

A friend of mine stopped in here and shared pics. I didn't realize Brentwood Bowl and been reimagined until I saw her pictures. My dad was in a bowling league and I spent a lot of time in this building as a child. I couldn't wait to see what they'd done to the place. There's no doubt the place no longer looks like Brentwood Bowl, but I was pleased to see a few pieces of memorabilia inside. We were there during the week at lunchtime and it was pretty empty. We opted to sit at the bar. The bartender/server was very nice and helpful. I opted to build my own flight and our bartender was instrumental in helping me choose which four brews to try. Mark and I started with Pretzels and Beer Cheese. They weren't great, but they hit the spot. We both ordered the Ranch Brined Fried Chicken Sandwich, though I had mine grilled. The sandwiches were not extraordinary, but they were good. I'd say they offer solid bar food. We haven't been back; it's a bit of a drive. My sister is coming into town in May. We might have to bring her here for a little trip down memory lane.

What an exciting space! Plenty of parking. I was surprised to learned that they made four different wines. I tried the white and rise and both were excellent. The appetizers were amazing: flatbread with hummus, salted pretzels with a rich, warm cheese sauce, huge chicken bites, casadias stuffed with meat and cheese. The bourbon banana pudding was rich and amazing. Queen City acrobats were amazing as well. The heart shaped sugar cookies were very tender. ... along with a cup of coffee.

The wings were good -- solid, smoky, and satisfying -- but honestly, they tasted like any other wings. Nothing over-the-top or unique there. The sauces were decent, but nothing to write home about. What really made the night was the atmosphere and the people. The place was buzzing in the best way, and the staff was super friendly. I genuinely enjoyed the interaction and energy. The highlight for me, though, was the beer. I started with the Luscen Pilsner -- light, crisp, and easy to enjoy -- and then followed it up with the 2023 Neopolitan Maul, a Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout with strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. As a bourbon guy, that second beer really brought it home for me. Rich, complex, and worth the trip alone. All in all, a great vibe, excellent beers, and friendly staff. I'd come back for the drinks and the energy.

At least 10 screens-a pool table- food and plenty of beer choices on tap and to go. Revel wine is available along with mixed drinks. I sat at the bar on a quiet early afternoon. The waitress was great and food came hot and quickly. The food is a la cart. There is a lunch special with sandwich side and non alcoholic beverage. My order was 21$ with tip. Looks like there is trivia every Monday. Possibly music at times. I will return!!

Great first experience here. Came for fish and fry special. Tasted a beer, had a beer. Everyone I came into contact with was cool and friendly. It was a good crowd due to March Madness but did not feel cramped. Plenty of parking too.

"Rainy Day Brewery Escapade: High Grain Brewing Edition" Me and my fiancée decided to combat the rainy day blues by doing what any responsible adults would do -- go to a random brewery for food. Enter High Grain Brewing, where the drinks are cold, the vibes are warm, and apparently, the building is sponsored by whoever builds airplane hangars. Seriously, it's huge. First things first, they're not playing around with their beverages. We tried some THC drinks, and let's just say we reached a perfect state of "chill but still aware enough to play pool without embarrassing ourselves." Speaking of which, they've got two pool tables, plus games for the kids if you bring 'em along. Family-friendly with a side of "let's pretend we're still young and cool." Now, the food. You know how breweries often serve meals that taste like they were cooked by someone who thinks salt is a personality trait? Not here. High Grain actually serves delicious food. The Chicken Sandwich? Juicy, crispy, and confidence-boosting. The fries came in a portion so large I briefly wondered if they mistook me for a competitive eater. And the Chickpea Wrap? Fresh, tasty, and healthy enough that I convinced myself I was making good life choices. The atmosphere is laid-back, the service is friendly, and the whole place has the energy of that cool cousin who always knows where the fun is. So if you're ever in need of a rainy day pick-me-up, or just a casual hangout spot with great food, good drinks, and a solid chance at pool table domination -- High Grain Brewing is the move. Go check it out! And if you lose at pool, blame it on the THC beverages. I sure did.

The seating is family style with long tables. You can order via QR codes (meh) or walk up to the side of the bar for food and drink. The manager came around and introduced himself to everyone and was all over the place. Helping in the kitchen, bar, cleaning up etc.. He's definitely an asset because he didn't disappear as the rush started coming in. The inside is nicely decorated and I was digging their Voodoo/skull theme. We settled in and watched the 4pm NFL game on one of the large TV's while chatting with some disappointed Bengals fans and locals. Beer wise they had a nice selection of classic Voodoo brews (we used to get them a lot in the Philly area several years ago), a balance of styles and some newer brews I'd never heard of. If you enjoy the dark side of beer the Where Our Secrets Go Imperial Stout was delicious and thankfully more along the lines of the traditional style Impy Stout. I had an IPA that I can't remember the name of, but it had a nice Belgian yeast/hop twist to it. My son enjoyed their root beer. Food wise the Jumbo Chicken Wings, roasted in house hit the spot, I highly recommend them. I added their Good Vibes BBQ "Sawce", but you can get them dry rubbed or chose from several other "Sawces". The wings were big with fresh meat and the sauce was great. The Pub pretzel we ordered was huge and the good vibes beer cheese complimented it well. The Mr. Pickles Fried Pickles were also a great choice for an app. They were a big portion. My friend had the Chili Mac and my son ordered the Lil Mashburgers - 2 little smashburgers oozing with cheddar & chippies off the kids menu. We ate, had a couple of beers and enjoyed our dinner at Voodoo before we explored more of downtown Cincy. I'll be honest I wanted to avoid BrewDog and Voodoo and experience home grown Cincinnati breweries, but we were really happy we stopped at Voodoo. Thanks guys you earned a fourth star for great friendly service from the manager and bartenders!!

We ordered extra hot wings, and the sauce was great but to make it "extra hot" they just added a metric ton of hot pepper or some hot seasoning, and it was nearly inedible. They were extremely over sauced. The fries were okay. My dry rub wings were good. It's basically self serve, you order on the website via QR code. They brought our food all at once due to that, to include the appetizer. Service was quick but we only saw our "waiter" once to deliver our food. If we had needed refills, we wouldn't have gotten them. We didn't even get silverware and only got one appetizer plate. The ambiance was nice, it's a great looking facility. I probably won't be back though, unfortunately. Just not great enough to bother going again. We did have one beer off the draft list that was good. The dragons milk.

We had hoped for food, but the business that does food in the building is another company and they were out for spring break. So sad. ;-) The brewery has a nice vibe to it. There is a small taproom with a much larger Oktoberfest styled hall (meaning large community tables). There are plugs here if you work remote, although I would NEVER do that. :P The beers are not the best I had in Cincy, but they are above the average in Cincy, so it is definitely above average. It is also a well-known, stable brewery. I understand Listermann recently sold the spot, so it will be interesting to see if there are changes going forward. The board is a bit heavy at this point, with quite a few brews over 10%. My feelings on the beers? The IPAs are decent, but they shine brightly with their stouts and pastry sours. The blackberry cobbler sour (12%) and Forbidden Imperial Stout got my top marks. Would love to return and see how the food is here, but spring break worked against me. If you go through my profile, you will find I have a couple of hidden gems we found on our trek.

This process was nice, as we didn't have to track anyone down or stare at a menu while trying to order with a line behind us. We got our beers from a friendly bartender, sat, and took our time scrolling through the menu. Our food came together, which was strange as we expected the wing appetizer to come first. The pizza was awesome! The cheese blend reminds me a lot of costcos. The wings were just okay. Maybe I am not a buffalo person, but overall they did not have much flavor. We headed up to the mezzanine and played some games while watching the 4pm game on their big screens. Food wise - we didn't eat here, but I can tell you from past BrewDog experiences their wings are always on point. Beer wise - They had a good mix on their 24 or so taps - IPA/Pale Ales (8 on tap), ciders (4), stouts & dark beers (3), lagers & pilsner (2), sour & fruit-based (2) and five beers for a community beer festival that was running that weekend. $1 of every pint poured went to charity. I had a Winter Staycation at 7.5% - our seasonal stout that brings rich pecan and sweet toffee flavors right to your glass. It was average with sweet pecan flavors, caramel, vanilla, toffee and tasted malts. Drank like a porter. It was OK which is what most of their beers are. Just above average in my humble opinion.
