Yeah, this is a fun little stop. I just happened to be shopping in Northside and wanted to grab a quick drink in this horrendous heat. I popped in to sit at the bar, and the bartender, RB, was happy to answer questions about booze on tap and in the cooler. I'm a big fan of stouts, so I had an Irish stout so tasty I had to take a second home. RB taught me a really cool fact, too: if you buy the booze to go it's almost half the cost! This place has a great vibe, kind regulars at the bar who are happy to strike up a conversation, AND RB has recently invented a new shot that is a real panty-dropper, the "Muscle Mommy." You can only get it when she's there, and it might make you start liking women, but that's okay...it's Northside. ‍ read more

We stopped by Higher Gravity while visiting Summit Park on a busy morning. It's neat that this bar is open in the morning for parkgoers to grab coffee. There aren't a lot of coffee shops in the area so it's filling a gap. My husband commented that the menu prices were fair especially for the specialty drinks, but I will note none of them were super extravagant. I chose to have a matcha latte and added the lavender syrup, which was house made. The matcha wasn't very strong and mostly tasted of milk, but the lavender added a lot and I enjoyed my drink. read more

Met some friends here to catch up the other night. Wonderful atmosphere, clean space, and great service. Very good selection of drinks at the bar and available for purchase! read more

Great bar, great service. This is a bar bar, not a bar and grill. You go for the drinkies, and they have a plethora. I am a wine and cocktail human, and there are still plenty of options on rotation. Go to dinner somewhere, then end the evening with a night cap here. read more

A must-stop when you're in the Cincinnati area. Tons of great local and out-of-state craft beer on tap and to go (cans, bottles, growlers, or crowlers). Awesome place to watch sportsball, meet some fellow beer lovers, or play some board games. I just wish I lived closer! read more

HG is my favorite spot in Northside to hang out and have a drink or two. I especially love it when the weather is nice and the garage door is open. They have an unbelievable selection of beers, seltzers, and wine. It's a great place to watch all Cincinnati sports! And the bartenders are the best!!! read more

I've been here several times with varying service. Yesterday, my partner and I stopped in for a beer after hiking. I asked the bartender for a recommendation for crisp light refreshing lager. He was unwilling to give a suggestion for an unknown reason and came off as rude and judgmental. This is not the first negative interaction I've had with this guy, but yesterday was enough times for me not to return to this establishment. With the number of beers this place sells, you'd think they'd train employees on suggesting beers or at least on being welcoming to its patrons. Today, I went to the brewery Esoteric in Walnut hills and asked for a similar beer. The bartender/owner seemed delighted to give me a recommendation and to talk beer with me. It was such a stark difference in customer service that I was even more disappointed in the higher gravity experience. read more

They have beer, wine, and spirits. Tap draft menu , can menu, plus a great selection of take out. Don't stop in the front bar area, check around back for wine and their beer cave. They have TV's for game action. read more

Higher Gravity - two glasses of beer and a can of beer - Beer Bar Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

If you're looking for a chill place to meet up with someone for a beer but you like widely different types of beer- this is a great space. The inside is a nice place to hang out, the beer menu is extensive, and the selection you can take home is even more so. It's more relaxed than OTR which can be great. Very much the type of place you can settle in for a while to try a few different things. read more

Higher Gravity is my kind of bar. Located in Cincinnati's up and coming Northside neighborhood, it's a mecca for craft beer -- both on tap and to go. And better yet -- they label by styles so it was super easy to load up on my preferred type (sours) during my brief visit from out of state. Beer on tap is available in small pours, which I appreciate. They were using plastic during my visit as it was right before the coronavirus shut down. The place was still bopping and full on the Friday night. Some even BYO'd pizzas, which smelled so good. If I lived in Cincinnati, I'd definitely frequent this spot. They've curated an excellent selection of local and national brews and present them in a friendly, inviting atmosphere. read more

A friend of mine at work referred me to Higher Gravity. Her boyfriend works there on Friday's and told me to drop by. My boyfriend and I was in the area and wanted to check it out! I was in beer heaven when I walked in! Beer Galore is everywhere! They definately had a good selection of local and specialty craft beers! We sat at the bar and I had the New Holland Dragons Milk Reserve Mocha mint on draft and my boyfriend got the Breckenridge Nitro Irish Stout. Pricing was very reasonable. They do have enough TVs if you are a sports fan, besides that, they have board games, growlers to go, pick a Six pack to go if you want to mix it up. In the back they do have some good quality wines if you are not a beer fan. This place has so much offer and I was glad we stopped in! We're coming back for sure! read more

This destination will lift your spirits in more than one way. The selection of beers alone will make you think you've died and gone to brew heaven. Walls and walls of nothing but epic bottle and can choices. You won't know where to begin! But, no matter what you choose, you're sure to enjoy it and the bar itself. The inside is very clean and inviting, with beers, wines, a full bar, and big screen TVs all around. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable about the product. On top of all the bottled and canned beer, they have a very good selection of brews on tap, with a digital list that's easy to navigate. Plus they have great daily specials and a Monday-Friday happy hour to cure the workweek blues. Order a pint, open a bottle/can, enjoy a flight, fill a growler/crowler/howler, the choice is yours. Either way, you're sure to like it here! read more

Love this place and the beer selection. It's a great spot to have a couple drinks, try something new, and catch up with friends. This place is awesome. Its a cathedral built out of beer. This entire place is literally a beer cave with supreme options! Easy to be overwhelmed by the options but the guys here helped pare my list down to about 6 beers for a flight. I enjoyed them all. I walked in off of the street with my son on a random Tuesday and sat at one of the tables. The space is not that big but it was spacious enough for me and my lil' man. I'd definitely go back and/or take friends who are visiting and like good beer. Really good vibe here. Not so humbly submitted, Michael C. read more

Higher Gravity - Flights of unique craft magic - Beer Bar Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

After a long weekend of moving into Northside I decided I needed a drink. I walked down the street and Higher Gravity was there to save the day! At first glance I knew that this was the place for me, the atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. The style was exactly what I want my house to be like, and could easily become one of my go to bars in the neighborhood. The beer selection is vast, there is something for everyone. My partner who hates beer found one he liked. If beer isn't your thing they also have wine. The service is incredibly friendly, they have plenty of room so you won't feel crowded. I also liked that they had board games for people to play while they were sipping on the brew of the day. This bar is definitely a great alternative to a tap room and has more variety then most tap rooms. I highly recommend checking it out when you get some time! read more

Edit: changed to 5 Star because 14 is greater than 10 and I was wrong. Giving credit where credit is due! Also low key impressed and slightly embarrassed cute bartender/co-founder replied. Help me. Ok y'all. Came in for trivia tonight, had a great time. Pros: Cute bartenders (all the single ladies ) Tons of beers IN BOTTLE OR CAN and wine You can bring in your own food which I think is really cool. Cons: There were only 10 beers on tap which I thought was weird! So for that reason I am giving it a 4 star rating. No food I will definitely come back, the trivia was really fun and there were also a lot of board games there. The atmosphere was relaxed. read more

I have to admit that before the whole COVID-19, I had only been to this place a few times. However, since then, HG has become a solid go-to place to pick up a variety of beer. Not only do they have a great selection, but their process for ordering is fairly easy. You can browse their offerings on their website or on Untapped, you send an email with your order and they respond back fairly quickly and you can either pay ahead with an invoice or pay in store. Their selections are amazing, and both times I have been there, the staff has been very cool and helpful. Great selection and great location as well. read more

Alright ya'll, we all know breweries have been popping up everywhere, and let's be honest, we can't visit them all. Well, with Higher Gravity in the pictures, we don't need to! This place has hundreds of beers from all over the country for you to check out, buy, take home or crack open to drink. This is the best place to go to on a Friday night when you're like meh I wanna try some new brews, I don't want to go to a crowded bar, I don't know if I'll like the beers at this new brewery, and I want some free pretzel rods/animal crackers. Higher Gravity is just the place to come and try all of these new brews out, and even some from places you've never heard of. Their tap is ever-changing, therefore their menu is on an IPAD! (so tech-savvy, obvi). Did I mention that you can buy the beers in several sizes or even get a flight if you're in the mood to try them all? I also really appreciate that they list the calories of the pints on tap next to their prices on the iPads. While some may not care for this, I think this just exemplifies how ahead of the game these guys are. On the note of catering to everyone, this place is extremely family-friendly. There are plenty of board games, books, free pretzel rods/animal crackers/a water dispenser, and high chairs to accommodate all. They even have the large, square pub-styled tables so you (or your kids) can spread out a board game and sip on some brews. I am extremely excited for this place, along with its vicinity to the new Melt and other food options in Northside (cuz food). I think it's a great addition to the area, clinging to the ideology that makes Northside more approachable than a lot of the other trendy up-and-coming areas. Check it out! I know I will be back :) read more

Higher Gravity - Cool gear! Their women's tanks are bomb, FYI - Beer Bar Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Northside is one of those little downtowns that dot the Cincy area. It's rapidly becoming a hipster area as gentrification has not set in just yet and rents are still relatively affordable. This place is in a new development with the requisite mixed use spaces: apartments above, retail below. You can walk in off the street quite literally. I joined some colleagues for a Friday drink. The place is a temple to beer, with a dozen on tap and reams of bottles and cans for sale. They will fill a growler for you, and the high-tech filling station is pretty impressive, although it is so complicated that our bartender needed help navigating it. It dispenses automatically and with minimal foaming. I happened to have my growler on hand (who doesn't carry one around just in case?) and got a pretty good deal on Founders all-day IPA. Service was great and friendly. It's a nice spot to hang with friends. read more

Higher Gravity - Lo-G (house beer!) blonde ale - Beer Bar Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

I Had such a good time here even though I was only able to stay for about half an hour. It was not overly crowded at all on a Friday evening around 11 and it felt very airy and open which I like when I need a break from the dark and cramped "tavern" type bar. Jason was so helpful to explain how to buy their beers individually or in a six pack or wine from their cellar and made sure we had a good experience the entire time. Others have mentioned the snacks but we didn't see any or get offered any while we were here. They do however have menus from local restaurants scattered around so I'm sure you could have more substantial food delivered. I would come back the next time I'm in the neighborhood or even to find a new wine or beer to take to a friend's house. read more

Higher Gravity is a magical place where you can crack open a cold one with the boys. And they have so many different cold ones to choose from! The people who work here are very friendly and knowledgeable, and they will help you pick out the cold one of your dreams. I'm basic, so I asked if they had anything pumpkin (I know it's only September, but let people enjoy small things please!). The gentleman working listed off what they had and I decided on the ACE Pumpkin Cider. It was crisp and refreshing, just like carving a pumpkin. While they don't serve food, Higher Gravity has quite a few menus available for nearby establishments that delivery. They love being a part of the Northside community and encourage people to order from their neighbors. Higher Gravity is the perfect hang out spot whether it's after work or on a bar crawl. read more

"Complaint"? Yeah, how to choose from one million beer choices?! P.S. That's not really a complaint. I got a Wee Willy, Rhinegeist scotch ale and it was wonderful. Served appropriately cool/warm too. Some places serve this style cold, then you have wait until it gets to 55 degrees. HG does the wee heavy proud, so thanks for that from a beer snob (me). Our group of four sat on the cushy couches and chairs living room style and enjoyed a shot, a beer, and a glass of wine before heading up to the Comet for food. HG is a great place with a super friendly bartender and a stupid selection on tap, by the can or bottle, and package to go. Wine selection is great as well. read more

Okay I came here the other night fully stumbling drunk after Melt over served me. I barely remember picking up a sixer but somehow it ran me 28 dollars. For six Rhinegeist and Bells brand beers? That's steep as hell buddy. I'm almost certain I was exploited because of my drunken state. It's not my fault my wife left mid dinner and Melt poured me double after double after double shot even though I could barely stand. I miss when bars and businesses that sold alchohol cared about their customers instead of just caring getting them all liquored up and essentially pick pocketing them. Also for the record while I did enjoy myself that night, as my original review indicates, I do not remember posting that review or calling my dad. Checked my outgoing calls and it adds up though. Now I have to explain to my dad that the craft beer scene here sucks just like it did in Leeds. read more

I did not realize this was a bottle shop in addition to bar! EXCELLENT selection of cold six packs, singles, and bombers as well as wine! The draft list is solid too! Due to events, I was here twice I one week an the tap list changed that fast! A nice mixture of locals and other on tap and a generous selection of hard-to-find and typical bottles. Why have I not been here sooner?! The only place around that I know of that has a rapid chiller. So, we bought a bomber of hard-to-find Three Floyds, they chilled it and we drank it-top notch experience. Perhaps my favorite part is that it also embodies Northside-so unpretentious helpful staff and eclectic clientele. I just checked this place out over the weekend. After sitting at the bar and enjoying one of the 14 beers on tap I was told they had just opened a day prior. For being a new bar I never would have guessed with how smooth and how put-together the place is. Looking around I saw families, dogs, and just random people having a good time and sharing their love of craft beer. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners and they were very open, personable, and friendly. They truly appreciated every single person that stopped in even if they just came in to take a look. The atmosphere was super relaxed with great music and a couple tvs showing games. I will definitely be back. read more

Not only was the customer service on point, but they had a great selection of craft beers. All the way from Bombers to cans (and some wines as well). Everything I could want and more from a bar and bottle shop! Exceeded all expectations - excellent selection of craft beers and unique wines, knowledgeable and inviting bartenders/staff, welcoming and hip ambiance, and dog and kid friendly (with water bowls and juice boxes - they're more than on top of it). I came for the first time for a work celebration (huge perk: you can bring your own food into the bar), and everyone raved about the event. I also ventured to Higher Gravity for the IU/OSU football game, and it was great to see that they had catered to all fans/customers by playing three different games throughout the bar (including the IU/OSU, UC, and one other game). Oh and they won me over when they had Zombie Dust on draft during the 3 Floyds tap takeover... Overall, this place is awesome and I love that Northside--and Cincinnati as a whole--can be part of this new niche. Higher Gravity is definitely on the top of my list for places to take friends when they are visiting from out of town! read more

Higher Gravity is an awesome addition to the Northside community. I enjoy the open concept between the patio/outside bar seating and inside bar seating especially when the weather is nice. Higher Gravity also offers a large selection of craft beers, local and abroad. I'm from Georgia, so I appreciated that they offered a couple of my favorites like Sweetwater and Terrapin.
