two men at a bar with televisions in the background

Fun, rowdy place (college football day) with excellent customer service, tasty brews, yummy shots and great TV viewing. The best thing about this place is the bar staff. Shout out to Jamie who (blond pompadour and "wears his sunglasses at night") is a consummate professional who is very personable while working on probably ten orders at a time. Highly recommend for the fun and high energy vibe and great drinks!

Good beer, good people, good prices. Their shot menu is a fun twist on popular shot options, and they always keep a bomb craft beer selection. They'll turn on pretty much any sport you'd like to watch, and the trivia is always a good time.

    Big crowd for opening night!

Rhinehaus is a new Sports Bar that has just opened in OTR. If you weren't looking for it you probably wouldn't know it was there. They don't have a sign yet, but it is a really beautiful historic building that has been rehabbed on 12th St between Main and Walnut. This place has more of a dive bar feel to me rather than sports bar, although they do have 12 tv's mounted all over the walls. Think: A dressed up version of Miltons. The space is small and quaint. It's really only one big room separated by two exposed brick columns. The front has the bar and some stools, the back has a great community table and some high tops. I love that they went with the community table. It promotes great conversation and honestly saves tons of room. The beer selection is solid, both bottled and on draft. I got a Stella and Justin got a Mt. Carmel, both delicious! The staff was very friendly and even though it was packed they got to us quickly. This location is amazing. Right in between the Main Street scene and bustling Vine Street, this is a great place to stop for a brew in between!

Finally a sports bar in OTR. Hey, that rhymes!

Finally, finally, finally. A sports bar in Over the Rhine. One of the few things that have been missing in the area will hopefully set a trend for more of these places to come. Sure, I love sports and because of this I am their main demographic, but I feel like other people would like Rhinehaus even if they weren't sports buffs. The building is very OTR. Exposed brick everywhere, original brick columns separating the bar area and the communal area, nice woodwork, and TV's EVERYWHERE. At least 12 high quality Samsung flat screens line the walls of Rhinehaus. Any sport you would ever want to watch is going to be playing. Want soccer (or futbol)? They've got it. College basketball? Yup. High Stakes Fight Club? Well, maybe not but I am sure they would be open for anything. What I am saying is they are going to be playing the game or match you want to see. There's also a Golden Tee game in the back, because really, your not a sports bar unless you have a Golfen Tee game. The employees seemed really cool. The night we went, opening night, it was pretty packed. The bar was full and both areas were popping. We still managed to grab a drink very quickly. This was nice to see because I have a feeling they are going to be crowded a lot. Rhinehaus offers up a pretty good beer selection, which seems to be par for the course in OTR. There is no shortage of selection if you are looking for a good drink. This is what makes Rhinehaus attractive to those non-sports jocks. It is basically a great OTR bar with sports in the background if you feel so inclined to watch them (I will be watching them). Words can't describe how happy I am to have a sports bar around me. This is a place I can see myself coming to on my own to simply grab a drink, hang out, and watch a game or two. This is why Rhinehaus is going to be successful and I couldn't be happier.

Interior shot of Rhinehaus to exemplify its charming interior featuring exposed brick.

I don't know that there's any way to know this, but they were closed to the public for a private party until 4:00. Not a big deal. We grabbed a tea around the corner and returned after the party ended. This place is great! What a fabulous selection of brews. Even more extraordinary was the massive selection of alcohol free beers. I've never seen anything like it. Though the partiers lingered a bit, we were able to snatch a comfy table for two by the window. It's the perfect spot for two. Unfortunately I don't recall what I ordered, though I'd remember it if I saw it. Mark had a AF beer and he really enjoyed it. I tasted it and it was delightfully unique. The selection of beer to purchase and take away was huge. I intended to return after dinner, but it was cold and I was too ready to go home. The gentleman running the place was super helpful even though he was managing the party and the remaining party guests as they cashed out with drinks to go. We will most definitely return!

I had never been before and the Turtle (their specialty item) was amazing! It is around $9 and pretty big so its a good idea to split one. The beer selection was pretty meh (definitely not a wall of taps). Ended up getting a cheap Hudy Delight for $2 I think. Seating is very limited but you can also order togo from the window. Service was very friendly as she walked us through the menu and made recommendations. I've made my way through the entire menu (food and drinks), and there honestly isn't a single item I wouldn't recommend. Everything is consistently spot on every single time. That kind of reliability is hard to find, and it's exactly why I keep coming back. That said, a few personal favorites stand out. The goat cheese flatbread appetizer is a non-negotiable. It's the kind of dish you order "for the table" but secretly don't want to share. The cacio e pepe and pasta rustica are also incredible and always hit. As for drinks, the seasonal espresso martini is always a go-to and never disappoints. But my personal favorite is either the regular old fashioned or, when I'm feeling myself, the wagyu old fashioned... especially if Scott is behind the bar. He clearly knows what he's doing, and it shows. The service is always warm, attentive, and consistent, which makes the whole experience even better every time. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and a bartender who takes his craft seriously. I'll definitely be back (again...and again).

This app was hand pulled mozzarella stuffed with braised wagyu brisket and bourbon butter and served with crostini. I just ate this for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. The bartender said these are made to order, mozzarella pulled and filled after I placed my order. The atmosphere was cozy and right in the heart of Covington. Both bartenders were super friendly and when I said all of a sudden I did not feel well, they took my meal and put it in a box for me and got me an ice water to go. I will definitely stop in the restaurant again to give something else on the menu a try. Probably will order the same cocktail as it was so good.

Wow! What a way to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary! I loved this place…read more It has been a few months since eating here but I still find myself thinking about it. Our next trip to Cincinnati; It will be extremely difficult to stay away from here. We spent the day in Newport and around Cincinnati and wanted somewhere nice for the occasion. I was iffy on this place at first... you can throw a rock all over America and hit a place with 'Barrel' in the name these days. The Yelp reviews swing both ways here but I'm here to tell you my take... because it swings so far towards the 5 stars that it's very much a 6 or 7 star place(maybe more). We gauged our arrival time based on other activities that day. We wanted ample time at the nearby Lego exhibit so when we arrived there, we made a reservation for 4:30-5. Eating early and making our way back to Louisville was a great idea. The entire time we were there, no one else came in so we had the entire place to ourselves(It was a Friday). The atmosphere is homey but during busy times, I could see it being noisy. The booths could easily fit 6 people comfortably... probably 8 in some cases depending on how wide some of you are. Special Note: This place highlights The Parrillada Experience for Two on their menu and we wanted it! We didn't order it because at a price tag of 130-and pictures online, we didn't want it to be a failed outing. After our first trip, The Parrillada Exp will be on the agenda next time. It's a mixture of different steaks, sausages, shrimp, sides, and salads. Definitely worth the cost. On to the food: Sausage App - Argentine Chorizo. Farmhouse Sausage. Grilled Ciabatta. Hearts of Palm. Green/Red chimichurri. Pepper Relish. I don't like ordering this type of dish when I go places because you never know if it's going to be delicious or very bad. It ended up being super delicious. We couldn't make up our mind which sauce we liked the best and which meat we liked the best. App PERFECTION! Land and Sea - This is what my wife went with. Asada Skirt Steak. Jumbo Shrimp. Asparagus. Red chimichurri butter. I had bites of the shrimp and it was good. I had to save room for my dish. Wagyu Denver Cut - I went back and forth. Lobster ravioli being on the menu almost made my decision instant but I was going back and forth between ravioli, steak, and a few other things. I asked the server which he recommended of the 4 Chef's cuts. He recommended two... one of which was the Wagyu so I went with it. I wasn't disappointed AT ALL. He mentioned that the Wagyu Denver Cut was a new addition to the menu... I'm not sure but you could definitely tell it was cooked, arranged, and presented with care. I savored every angle of every bite. We also ordered a side of brussels because of course! Originally we were going to dessert somewhere else but went ahead and ordered the Hazelnut Vanilla Creme Brulee here. Perfect ending to the meal. This brulee was light and had the right amount of crunch. It was also larger than expected. We had no complaints with this place. Easily one of the better restaurants I've had in Cincinnati. If you're doubting visiting this place, take the dive! Other notes: They have beer and a small cocktail variety but they primarily seem focused on wine(plenty of options to choose from).
