The bar is great, the karaoke gentleman isn't friendly at all. At this day and age there are plenty of karaoke people who are friendly and enjoy their jobs, Gary isn't one of them. If they replaced the karaoke guy they would have happier weekend customers! read more

This is your typical hole in the wall bar, aesthetically it's nothing special, offers pretty standard drink selections, bartenders have always been pleasant. But karaoke nights here are my so freaking fun & we've had some of my favorite nights here! read more

I'm giving 4 stars because if Sam or Kevin is your bartender you'll be MORE than pleased here. If you walk in and see a middle aged woman with glasses do yourself a favor and turn back out. We've been wanting to check this place out specifically for Friday night karaoke for a while now. Last night we were celebrating my wife's birthday and were finally able to stop in. The bar was a nice size, drink selection was solid, and the area setup was great. And the restrooms were stylish and clean. Overall karaoke was a blast, lots of good fun crowd energy with a couple of more serious performers who may or may not have been waiting for Simon Cowell to breeze by. The two DJs hosting karaoke had a nice sound system and offered a decent song selection, but were still operating by old-school little paper entry forms that patrons randomly dropped in piles on their table. When we arrived, karaoke was just starting and we were the only group there. Naturally we all put in multiple songs, staggering a couple songs at a time for the first 15 mins or so. Since it was just us and like 2 other people in the karaoke area, I put different names for myself with 5 different songs, with the intention of making my wife laugh when she heard them being called. I was assuming that with their paper system, they were just going basically in the order that submissions were received. After 6-ish people sang, the very last song I put in was selected. Then, about 2 hours later, the older male DJ called another of my songs, followed by the first three I submitted in a row. I was like "those are actually me, can you call them later?" ...and dude proceeded to scold 41-yr-old me like I was his own adolescent kid, grimacing and growling "you can't put different names so that you keep getting called." And I was like "that's not what I did, I was trying to be funny, and I put them in 2 hours ago when we were the only ones here." But in full boomer fashion he wasn't having any of it, and didn't call any of those existing submissions for the rest of the night. Now... I didn't complain that he had literally been sitting on my paper entries for two hours, thinking they were all separate people who still hadn't sung yet after all of that time had elapsed. But had they been actual separate people as he thought they were, he may have had 3 additional patrons looking to leave him a poor review for his disorganization. In summary, the place was fun, crowd was great and I'd go again... but I wasn't a fan of that DJ or of his militant vibe, especially in an environment that should be lighthearted. read more

Nice, clean dive bar with several dart boards. Beers are priced decently. The bathrooms are super clean. All the beers are front facing in the coolers for those who are OCD! Will be back soon. It's a cool area! read more

Wow. I am in love! This may or may not be a secret, but I LOVE dart's. We had a few dartboards in our basement growing up and it was always something our family did to bond together and pass the time. So now, whenever I get the chance to play it warms my heart. Also I love hustling anyone who thinks I "look like I can't play." WHAT?! Anyway - Old Towne Tavern has the best set of darts I have seen in this city and I have probably seen 20+ set ups. They are labeled by numbers and they have open tournament Wednesday nights and leagues you can join. Why I love the darts here? Because the boards are in reallllly good shape. They are real dart boards and made out of sisal fibres. Not cork that cracks all over the place, or worse PLASTIC - yuck. The darts are also in really amazing shape. In fact, I have never seen some of the grips on darts like they have here. Outside of the great dart set-up the space is not much to look at, pretty standard. Although I will say they were repainting everything when were here so it's nice to see the owners taking care of the place. Happy hour is .50cents off everything. Drinks are already cheap. I think my titos and tonic was $5 bucks, and the beers were $3.50. Seriously impressed, and I am already planning my next trip back. read more

Great hole in the wall spot! The bar had been a little rougher in years passed but they've gone non-smoking and cleaned up the place a lot. Cheap drinks most of the time and a great spot for happy hours. Free pool, darts and ping pong makes it a fun spot to bring friends. read more

Bar service is great! People are always amazing. Unfortunately the gentleman for karaoke isn't so lovely. Feels very bias towards woman or especially woman couples.. sad deal. Love this place. They are supposed to be under new management it could not be worse then previous. Some of the regulars make it well known they dont want you there. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

Olde Towne Tavern was a stop on a recent pub crawl through Covington Dive Bars and def one of best stops. The facility is very clean (in a bar sense), drinks are greatly priced and there is also a full pool tables and dart board. The inside large enough to hold about 60 people and the bar staff is quick and courteous. This is one of the few Covington Dive Bars I would return to outside a pub crawl. read more

I never used to be a bar hop (bar fly), but the embience, the friendly and personable staff, and lower than average priced drinks kept me coming back. It caters to Regulars and welcomes NEW regulars, because they treat you like family. Diversity is welcomed, appreciated, and protected. Each bartender is professional, courteous and attentive.
