We got there at around 9:10 and were first offered a seat inside but it was so loud in there the hostess couldn't hear what we were saying and vice versa, so we got a spot on the patio. Our sever was very nice, but service was VERY slow for a Sunday night. She told us they were busy the night before because of a conference and they were still in town that day, so the bar inside was busy. After ordering our drinks it took about 15 minutes to get them, and she didn't even take our food order when she came back despite us being ready. We waited, no problem. We ordered a 'Spice Bag' and it was decent but took about 25 minutes to get to us despite being potatoes and onions in a bag. For 40 minutes we waited for our food and when it came out it was terrible. I ordered the Fish and Chips and Caesar Salad to share and both were mediocre at best and inedible at worst. If you come here: DO NOT GET THE FISH AND CHIPS. They were battered nicely, but aside from that the fish didn't feel fully cooked and tasted like nothing, with a hint of dirty water. The tartar sauce seemed homemade, but didn't have any flavour. The coleslaw was boring and watery, with no flavour. Our server never checked up on us during the meal, so I never got the chance to ask for something else, so I was just stuck with the fries it came with. I know what good fish and chips should taste like and it's not that. Others ordered the curry and the wings and seemed to enjoy it, which is nice. However, 30 minutes after placing our order we were told that the kitchen "ran out of rice" and they asked us what we would like to replace it. When the curry came out, it was missing the naan but again, server never came to check on us so we didn't notice until the end of our meal. Overall, it's a cute place that feels Irish, but service is slow and food is terrible. Our server was lovely and it wasn't her fault that she was busy with tables, but management should be doing more when they know there's a conference in town to set their servers up for success.

The most homophobic environment I have ever been in. I asked my best friend (a gay male) to come into the restroom with me and help me fix my makeup and the door was banged on and we were screamed at and kicked out. Never been treated like such garbage in my Life especially in a place I spend so much money. Absolutely disgusting. Sundy's exemplifies such a dive bar and is located in Finneytown, about 10 miles north of downtown. It is a small, family-owned establishment, so don't be surprised if--after only 2 or 3 visits--the bartenders and frequenters remember your face. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, and the drink prices are probably too reasonable (but don't tell them I said that!). There are daily drink specials that will satisfy even the hardest of drinkers. Sundy's is "The Home of the Stormcloud" but I always recommend the Nada Bomb: originated on the West side, it is a shot comprised of cherry vodka, orange juice, red bull and a splash of cran. These shots run $5 per, so I always suggest simply buying a pitcher for the unbeatable price of $20 (the pitcher equals about 10 shots, so it's a really great deal, especially to buy for a round). Feel free to come visit to sit back and enjoy Trivia Night on Thursdays (www.lastcalltrivia.com), watch your favorite team(s) on any of its multiple flat screens, or just to hang out with friends. Though, don't plan on coming in on Sundays, as that is the only day the bar is closed during the week.

Wow. Mike (the owner himself) was our bartender for the night and he was incredibly sweet. He shared his story and it had SO much history behind it. Turns out Second Street Saloon gets it's name because it used to be located on second street downtown. After so many years his lease was up and he decided to make the Westside home - hence why this bar does not feel uniquely "west side." He moved every piece of memorabilia he had collected over the 25+ years of owning it into this new location. Now, I usually hate collages and junk on the wall but his are framed and look really nice. There are many framed photos of Cincinnati from the 1800's on. He also had the original door from Second St. framed and hung next to the bar - which by the way is an antique that he had picked out and appraised by the Wooden Nickel. They had more than enough craft beer and local beer available that you got a decent selection but didn't feel overwhelmed. It was also a pint night where you got to keep the glass. We played darts and really had a great time here. At the end of our bar crawl we all agreed that we could have spent the entire night here at Second Street.
