We ordered a 'Spice Bag' and it was decent but took about 25 minutes to get to us despite being potatoes and onions in a bag. For 40 minutes we waited for our food and when it came out it was terrible. I ordered the Fish and Chips and Caesar Salad to share and both were mediocre at best and inedible at worst. If you come here: DO NOT GET THE FISH AND CHIPS. They were battered nicely, but aside from that the fish didn't feel fully cooked and tasted like nothing, with a hint of dirty water. The tartar sauce seemed homemade, but didn't have any flavour. The coleslaw was boring and watery, with no flavour. Our server never checked up on us during the meal, so I never got the chance to ask for something else, so I was just stuck with the fries it came with. I know what good fish and chips should taste like and it's not that. Others ordered the curry and the wings and seemed to enjoy it, which is nice. However, 30 minutes after placing our order we were told that the kitchen "ran out of rice" and they asked us what we would like to replace it. When the curry came out, it was missing the naan but again, server never came to check on us so we didn't notice until the end of our meal. Overall, it's a cute place that feels Irish, but service is slow and food is terrible. Our server was lovely and it wasn't her fault that she was busy with tables, but management should be doing more when they know there's a conference in town to set their servers up for success.

I would like to share my experience at this bar, although it may not have been as enjoyable as I had hoped. I felt out of place and unwelcome during my visits. The regular customers seemed uncomfortable with the presence of newcomers, displaying a lack of openness. The most memorable event occurred when a bartender, who seemingly wanted to create a unique experience for the customers, engaged in an altercation with one of them. This incident left a negative impression on me. Given my experiences, I would advise others to avoid visiting this establishment. Turns out Second Street Saloon gets it's name because it used to be located on second street downtown. After so many years his lease was up and he decided to make the Westside home - hence why this bar does not feel uniquely "west side." He moved every piece of memorabilia he had collected over the 25+ years of owning it into this new location. Now, I usually hate collages and junk on the wall but his are framed and look really nice. There are many framed photos of Cincinnati from the 1800's on. He also had the original door from Second St. framed and hung next to the bar - which by the way is an antique that he had picked out and appraised by the Wooden Nickel. They had more than enough craft beer and local beer available that you got a decent selection but didn't feel overwhelmed. It was also a pint night where you got to keep the glass. We played darts and really had a great time here. At the end of our bar crawl we all agreed that we could have spent the entire night here at Second Street.
