I have read on Chowdown that the wings here were great. So we made it a point to go after a show. We arrived at 5pm on a Saturday and the place was packed. We were able to score a table outside. I ordered from the bar and he brought our wings out to us. OMG, they were fantastic! They had the perfect smoke and a tasty rub that has just the right amount of heat. So me & the wife are in Cincinnati for the weekend for the game (Go Pats). So I was told by my driver to look on Facebook for a foodie group called Chowdown Cincinnati. Upon asking them for dope places to try the first one that stood out was Knockback Nats. Best part was I was staying at Homewood which is literally around the corner from them. So we went & were greeted by Barry our bartender. Of course we instantly ordered the 8 of the smoked wings. Prices pretty fair for the new norm of $14. Came with 2 sauces we picked the spicy garlic ranch & bourbon pineapple. The turn around from order to getting your wings was the best I've ever experienced. I'm here to say the group didn't let me down the wings were great but the sauces made them 10X better. This coming from a wing man so I'm not easily impressed. But the star of the show to me was the cheesy waffle fries. Ion know how they are made but they have to be made in the grease that the wings are cause they have a charred smoke like taste to them that makes them taste great. This is a very interesting bar, and according to locals the only place to watch football on Sundays. The atmosphere was a typical dive bar with free bar snacks (popcorn) and reasonably priced drinks. We received great service from the bar staff. They tried to get the TV's on the game we were interested in, but we understood regulars took priority with their teams. No problem- that's what phones are for :) I had the smoked wings - if you love a good smoked wing these are amazing! Caution to those who are used to double fried / super crunchy wings- these are not for you but you should try them with the expectation they will be different but delicious. The cook, DoubleB ('BB), brought me my wings. He tells me he smokes the wings 8 hours at the top of each morning. These are definitely the tastiest smoke md wings I have ever had. This review is just for the wings and the service. Wings: best I've ever had. Literally. And I eat a LOT of wings. Perfectly tender, not too smoky. Lil char. They were out of the sauce for the xtra hot but the regular hot has a touch of heat so still good. But it just falls off the bone and the flavor is perfect. Bonus tip from the door guy: get the white queso sauce to dip your wings. I usually eat my wings straight with the buffalo sauce, no ranch or bleu cheese ever, but the queso here works with the hot wings like you wouldn't believe. So get a side of it. You won't regret it. Service: Awesome, fast, and attentive. Even when crowded they handle everything super fast. This is a very well-run bar with amazing food. Kinda bummed the score is under four stars.
