If I could give one *7* star rating to a single menu item (across all my reviews) -- it's Pony's wings. The fries are superbly potato-ey (sad to say that a distinguishing factor these days is a potato tasting line a potato...). Service is always great. My only gripe is that at the end of the day it's a little loid/boisterous -- but the crowd's always friendly. I'm deducting 2 stars for them showing sports on the TVs -- leaving us at 5/5 stars. Absolutely pick me up and fly me to Cincy on a Friday for this fish and chips!!!! I was in town for flying pig and was told the pony had the best fish Friday around. I made damn sure to stop in at 12 on the dot to find out first hand. The fish was well seasoned and crispy on the outside will tender, flaky, and juicy on the inside. The fries were crispy and well seasoned and the damn tartar sauce was even delicious. The portion is huge and while good enough to hog all to yourself it's big enough for 2 people. The server/bartender was very polite and helpful, and even held my cc after leaving it during my visit because I was so high on a crispy flavor cloud I didn't even care how I would pay for the rest of my trip. All in all an absolute must visit for fish Friday or honestly any day of the week. I hear the wings are also something to write home about. read more

We came on a Friday during Lent for the fish fry. Unfortunatly they ran out right before we ordered. We got the fish sandwich instead. The fish itself was good and flavorful. It was a small portion. The star of the show was there pizza logs. We got them as an appetizer and I had never had them before. They were delicious! So flavorful and cheesy! I would come back just for these! This place has some of the best chicken in the cincy area. Their fries are also fresh cut and similar to five guys. I also loved the sauces that came with the chicken tenders. My wife and I visited The Pony on a whim as we were in the downtown area. We are so happy we did. We walked into this open, nicely air conditioned bar that was very busy at 1:30 pm. The Pony is in downtown Cincinnati so parking is mostly found on the street or at a local garage. We got lucky and found a meter 2 blocks away. You order food at the bar and then the kitchen brings it out to your table. The process worked pretty well. We had the cheesteak sandwich, the roast beef on weck, and French fries. They were all superbly good. The rare roast beef on weck was a masterpiece. It wasn't a particularly large sandwich but every bite was a delight. The grilled onions and mayo brought the right touch of luciousness to the cheestake. The fries are hand cut, which is a nice touch. We will absolutely visit the Pony again, and hopefully just prior to a show at MOTR across the street. read more

We had the beef on weck and the chicken tenders. The beef on weck was just as good as any we've had from Buffalo. Beautifully tender meat, flavorful as jus, and salty weck. Will be back just for that. The chicken tenders were the best I've had in town. Very tender, thinner cut, great crispy breading. The ranch was a showstopper as well. Ambiance is cute, small place. Looking for great wings/ tenders then the Pony is highly recommended! Located in the heart of OTR. I tried the tenders and fries with the Cajun honey mustard. The fries are thick, steak cut and the tenders were delicious. The ranch is house made and phenomenal! Giving it 4 starts because of a few downsides. The ventilation isn't great and most of the menu is fried food which can be an annoyance when you leave and smell like it. And apparently they don't do takeout after 6p which is a buzz kill especially on a packed night when you just want to get in and out. Aside from that, I recommend giving them a try! read more

The crispy on the outside and soft potato on the inside potato sticks, are NOT "fry's," okay.. not over salted, undercooked, sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes, McDonalds fry's.. these hand crafted, perfectly fried potato pieces are easily one of my favorite potato side. OK 2nd visit after discovering this awesome place last week. I am definitely becoming a regular. Friday I tried their Garlic Parmesan Wings and were blown away!! It is the perfect balance to hot and sweet, not heavily sauced, and not overpowering - to die for!!! I believe they are the most delicious wings I've ever eaten! Lol - Probably coming back for dinner and drinks again Sunday!!! Only regret is they are not open currently during the week for lunch. There are multiple TVs with any sporting event you could hope for to be on! The bartenders were welcoming and friendly. I felt like I was at home in NY at a chill neighborhood place. Somewhere you could totally become a regular at. And I will.... I had beer at an event prior to coming here so decided to try a different looking cider they had. Starcut Octorock tasted just like apple cider fresh out of the orchard with a little bit of carbonation, great flavor. For food I honestly had a hard time deciding but went with the Chicken finger sandwich. You have a choice of sauce, so I went with the medium buffalo sauce. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. This sandwich was to die for! The chicken was tender and perfectly sauced. Veggies were fresh. The roll, which is delivered weekly from a bakery in Buffalo, was a star. Really the whole thing was just perfection. My friend had the Beef on Weck, which I will get next time, as she loved it.
