Fantastic place to try new beer in cans and TONS on tap! We stopped in for a drink before the FCC game- it was busy and hopping with fans. Service was fast and the line went quick. We got a cozy nook to sit in and enjoy our beer. I had the Cuppa, which I should have started slower. It was like a fine dessert cocktail and winding down your night. We stopped into Standard Beer before dinner reservations at Fillo. Our reservations were for 4:30 and we arrived at Standard Beer @ 3:45. I don't know that there's any way to know this, but they were closed to the public for a private party until 4:00. Not a big deal. We grabbed a tea around the corner and returned after the party ended. This place is great! What a fabulous selection of brews. Even more extraordinary was the massive selection of alcohol free beers. I've never seen anything like it. Though the partiers lingered a bit, we were able to snatch a comfy table for two by the window. It's the perfect spot for two. Unfortunately I don't recall what I ordered, though I'd remember it if I saw it. Mark had a AF beer and he really enjoyed it. I tasted it and it was delightfully unique. The selection of beer to purchase and take away was huge. I intended to return after dinner, but it was cold and I was too ready to go home. The gentleman running the place was super helpful even though he was managing the party and the remaining party guests as they cashed out with drinks to go. We will most definitely return! read more

We walked by a couple times and decided we needed to stop in. There is a bar with multiple beers on tap as well as lots of beer in cans and bottles available for purchase. The on tap beers are available in tastings or a full pour so we were able to try a couple new to us brews. It was great that there was indoor and outdoor seating available as well. read more

Standard Beer is a gem of a curated craft beer shop in the heart of the OTR neighborhood just two blocks north of Washington Park. Brett the owner has carefully curated each beer he carries and some you will only find in Cincinnati. I admit the shop can be a bit overwhelming as it's small & there are so many beers to choose from. It would be nice to try and organize by beer style. And today's can Art is so colorful it's hard at times to even see what kind of beer it is. They do carry Untitled Art & Wild Mind Ales two fantastic breweries from Wisconsin which are hard to find and so many others. I have not had the opportunity to try their beers on draft yet, but will on a future visit. Stop by the next time you're in OTR and take some great beer home with you. read more

Great place for beers and to hangout with friends in OTR. Their selection is vast and they sell both packs and single cans. They also have areas both outside and in to chill and even eat outside food. The staff were both knowledgeable and eager to help with any inquires. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Make use of the boundless options. As stated previously they have cans, packs and even drafts, so it would be a mistake to come in narrowminded or unwilling to peruse. I have my favorites but when confronted with all they had I decided to branch out and it was not something I regretted. Let the drink choose you. 2) Utilize all your resources. The staff are helpful and the beers on tap can be tasted, use these avenues to test your preference before purchasing. And by all means test a few so you don't look back in remorse. A great small beer and wine store + bar in a new apartment complex in OTR. Lucky tenants here, I would love to have this type of store near my apartment. Super cool vibe. Love the sign for the draft beer and the hangout area is clean, open but also can be private if you sit in the cool pod-like window seats. Wonderful & unique selection of beers from all over. I am not sure there are many other places in Cincinnati that will supply these. They even have some wine too! One thing that was neat is the "Mystery Beer" on draft. I am not that adventurous with my beer but my fiancé was a fan and had fun trying to figure out what it is. I hate to reveal my well kept secrets, but this is one of the best spots for craft beer in Cincinnati. They have a great selection of bottles and cans from breweries all over the map. I love coming by and building my own 4-pack (or two) of hard-to-find beers. They also have a nice selection of fresh beers on tap if you want to hang out and enjoy some good suds. On the outside, this place could almost be missed - but inside there were a ton of selections and the entire place was kind of amazing. I was really impressed in fact with how much beer and wine was in a store that LOOKED small - it's anything but! One of the major bonuses to this store is that it offers selections in singles, which is not something you can get anywhere else. Most places only offer in 4 or 6 packs, and sometimes you just want one can or bottle instead of several.
