Strange thing is I have never been in the brewery but have had a number of their beers offsite. I have friends who gather there weekly and one of these days I promise to meet up with them, they have a good time. All of the different brews I have had were top notch in their respective categories. I'm sure eventually there will be one I don't care for, so I'll just have to keep trying them until I find it. A lot of good beer and friendly atmosphere packed into a small place. It's not the biggest tasting room you'll find, but they were friendly and knowledgeable about the beers they offered. They had the only red beer I'd found on this trip to OH, and was definitely worth the wait. Quirky little tap room here, that you might miss in all the craziness of Beechmont ave. I came here with a couple girls from my beer group as we'd heard good things. It was a Friday night and it seemed like it was mostly regulars hanging out. It was a bit hard to order at the bar as it was full of seated patrons (and its a small area). We got our beers fairly promptly, as well as our Tagabrew charms (make sure to google them, its a really cool beer trail thing). My beer was just ok, and my friends felt the same about theirs. We were able to sit out on the patio as it was a nice night, but it was quite smokey. They have recently done away with their home brewing supply store to put more time into brewing. While there are a few spaces in front, the better parking and entrance is around back. read more

This was like being in someone's basement, in a good way. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, around the bar itself was packed with regulars to watch the Reds game. They all seemed to know each other and were sharing snacks they had brought in. It was obvious that we were "new". The bartender was a little gruff, but I think that's just his personality. Shout out to a regular named Mike, who was super friendly and explained that most people here are "weird". HA! The beers were decent and certainly if we were out that way again, we'd probably pop back in. If we lived out that way, we'd probably be regulars in the Mug Club as well. read more

I wasn't really a fan of the killer kolsch or the hefeweisen, and my husband preferred the hefeweisen to his typical love IPA's. I had their Oktoberfest, because HEY it IS the season for it. Ordered two beers, both notably good. 2/2 winners is a fantastic rate for a local brewery on the first go. Red ale was well balance with an unmistakeable fresh " brew day malt" smell. Hefeweizen base was really good and made exactly as the Lord (of beer) intended it imo - goes down like a satisfying beer meal. They put fresh strawberry slices in the hefe that float to the top and give the beer the exact aromatic quality of fresh strawberries. Can't beat it. Can't join it. But you can drink it. read more

So glad we finally found some time to check out Paradise Brewing taproom! It may look like a small, hole in the wall brewery (and I mean super small) but the beer itself packs a punch. 3 out of the 4 beers in our flight were absolutely delicious and the fourth one was good, just different. Kilt Dropper, our least favorite, was very smoky, like nothing I've tasted in a beer before. Sort of tasted like we chewed on a piece of smoked wood, very earthy. Tahitian Vanilla Porter is a perfect dessert beer. Sweet and heavy just how I like a porter! Yum! Ohio Pride Pale Ale brings ingredients from Marysville, Ohio, making it a true OH pride beer. It was delicious, smooth and light! Loved it! 6.6ABV, the second highest offered. Lastly, Luck o'the Irish with black raspberry; exactly what you'd think it is! A dark, thick beer with berry undertones packing out a 6.0 ABV. It is a very small space but they do their best. Free pretzels and Chex mix with optional donation and rotating food vendors on the weekends. If we ever have an hour to spare for a flight, I will absolutely come back here. I did not know that Paradise Brewing had a tap room until my Mr. told me. Located in Anderson Twp on Beechmont. You have to drive slow because you will miss it (there is a high sign on the side, but you have to look for it). Very tiny building but don't let that fool you. When you walk in there are brewing supplies in the front. Towards the back is the taproom. Very laid back and chilled. Bar area and high top tables, and one huge couch . They also have outdoor seating with a BBQ Food Truck (only accepts cash). Paradise offers half pours, pints and even Growlers to go. My Mr. and I only had time for a drink. I had a pint of the Peppercorn Pale Ale and my Mr. had the Pith Off Orange IPA. Both were well balanced and smooth. Everyone was very friendly and definitely want to come back. This place is an absolute diamond in the rough. Came across it after attempting to visit every brewery in the Cincinnati region. For starters, the beer was awesome, but the people is makes this place great. It's very quaint but with a lot of personality. Everyone knew each other but was extremely welcoming to outsiders. We were able to speak to the owner about the history of the brewery and how it got it's name and logo. Truly inspiring. I personally fell in love with the Blueberry Kolsch but the Devil's breath was so unreal that we had to purchase some for later. Highly recommended!! read more

As a home-brewer's supply store, they came up with a Completely UNIQUE brewing idea in Cincinnati for their tap room. As of now, they have about 18 different types of beer, but usually have 5-6 on tap at any one time. This is nothing new, every tap room in town serves beer-duh. What Paradise does is it says, "You like that particular beer? Well we have a recipe kit that's prepared so you can take it home and brew it yourself!" Now THAT is a really cool idea!! Doubt too many other tap rooms/Brewers in town just give away their recipes so that people can brew it for themselves! Guess that's what you get out of a shop that's roots are home-brewing supplies. Very cool idea! Other than that, the beers I had were very well crafted. Reallllly drinkable IPA, great Wheat (Hefeweisen) for a warm spring day. Having the employees being Brewers themselves, they are highly knowledgeable, and interesting/fun to talk to. Passion, perspective, and knowledge are things you normally get when you talk to a brewer, and this place is no different, so talk to the tappers. This place is easy to miss, but it's there! And if you are a home-brewer in Cincinnati, this is a must!. You can pretty much 'try before you buy.' So you try it in their Tap Room, and you grab a kit to-go to make your own at home! Pretty cool! Okay, so I'm not so great at improvised parodies, but Paradise Brewing Supplies is definitely good at what they do! Located in Anderson Township, right on Beechmont Ave., Paradise Brewing has been a true staple to local brewers, both beginner and experienced. And why not? They have all the equipment and supplies to brew up some goodness. Need hops? They carry several varieties, from the mild side to the big and bold. Not only do they have the supplies. They also brew up their own tasty beers on sight. Just walk to the back of the place and there's a cozy little taproom where you can enjoy a pint, a 4 oz. taste, or get a growler to go. It's unassuming when you walk in. It's a brewery supply place with a warehouse feel. In the back is a taproom with 13 beers listed on a chalkboard to choose from. The beers are good. All I ever drink are the kölsches. It's got a few tables, some sofas and a ring game my daughter likes to play when we come. Everytime we come, there's a food truck. This is the best homebrew supply store in the area! Jeff, Tammy and John (The owners) are friendly, personable and knowledgeable about all things beer and wine. They take the time to answer your questions and have great prices. They also recently opened a tap room so you can sample their selection of pre-made beer kits. PBS offers a full variety of LME and grains as well as other adjuncts you would use for your beer and wine recipes. They offer all of the necessary homebrewing equipment and they are willing to "special" order something for you if they don't carry what you are looking for. They have a great variety of hops and yeasts. They also have a special each year selling rhizomes for those interested in planting their own hops. They also offer fresh, locally farmed honey for those making meads and honey-based beers. They sell several of their own beer kits for beginners. I'd also like to add that they are in the process of adding a tasting room where you can sample beers from their line of beer kits. PBS often runs month-long sales where you get a discount if you pay with cash or draw a ticket out of a bowl to see if you get 5, 10, 15 or 20% off. They also have a rewards card. Every visit where you spend $10 your card gets initialed. On the 10th visit you get $10 off. What a nice way to reward their loyal customers. The taproom is now open!!!!!!!! PBS has a large taproom in the back that can host about thirty-five people. The beers on tap are the same pre-packaged beer kits that they proudly sell. What a great way to try a beer before you buy the kit and try to brew it yourself! They had four beers on tap at my last visit and plan on adding a few more or rotating the taps for their seasonal kits. You get a 4oz. sample for $1 or a pint for $4. $4 for a pint of commercially brewed craft beer? Not bad, right??? They also sell growlers and can send you on your way with beer to go. They also sell their sampling glasses and pint glasses to jazz up your glassware selection at home. The bar area offers a big screen tv which usually shows ESPN or live sporting events. Perfect! Over the years they have been remodeling and improving their store-front. They offer a public restroom for customers and do have a small tv that is usually showing sports. They've added new carpet and rearranged things so it is more spacious, well-lit and inviting. Walking in the place you just pick up the smells of the malts and it is like heaven. First class!!! Much better than the "other" homebrew supply stores in the Cincinnati area. read more

I have been brewing for nearly a year and a half now, and in my short time, I've come to realize that the most important thing about any homebrew community - be it a club, an event, or a local homebrew store (LHBS) - isn't the beer. It's the people. And the folks at Paradise are some of the best. Upon entering the store, you'll be greeted by Jeff and his folks, as well as their two dogs.The store is nice and open, with most any malt you'll need lining the shelves on your left, a myriad of accouterments on the right, and hops in the back. No matter how busy they are (and the can get busy on the weekends), you'll be greeted the moment you walk in the door; and whether you look like you need help or not, when one of the staff is free, he or she will be there to ask if there's anything you need. It's shocking, but I don't usually see that kind of service at most LHBSs. As a newbie, I really appreciated how accommodating the Paradise crew with my dumb questions, how quick they were with tips, and how honest and to-the-point they were when they had suggestions or realized I was going down the wrong path. It's this kind of attention to the customer that I never got at, say, Listermann's, where I find most of the folks to be stand-offish. Other than a hop variety or two, there was little I couldn't find at Paradise, and the only time I purchased some expired yeast from their store, I brought it back for an exchange, even without the receipt, no questions asked. The location is a bit of a pain if you're coming in off 275, as it's piled behind the Beechmont strip mall sprawl, but that's a minor gripe. I'm glad to see Paradise doing well, and hopefully the brew community keeps booming so that continues. Simply the best I've found in Cincinnati. read more

Glad to see a solid brewing supply store now that I live on the East Side. Smaller than Listermann, but Paradise has a good amount of supplies to brew anything you could imagine. The staff is definitely knowledgeable, so ask them all of your questions. We also enjoyed having a flight in their taproom in the back of the store. I have been a homebrewer for about 20 years now. I started going to Paradise maybe 10 years ago and they have been my primary shop since then. Jeff and Tammy know their stuff and can help novice homebrewers get started and help semi-experienced brewers get better. Since transitioning to an actual brewery, their homebrew supplies have become a little more limited, but still stocked well enough for me unless I'm really making something odd or with hard to find malts/hops. That is partially due to the lack of interest in homebrewing and opening of so many craft breweries around town. Their beer is very good and they are extremely friendly. Very nice place to find good deals. The owners (like most HBS owners) are friendly, approachable and will help you with any question you throw at them. Everything is presented well and easy to find. My only problem is that they don't store their grain well.. Its right by the front door and exposed to whatever weather Ohio decides to throw at us, and they keep their shelved grain in cereal containers that don't seal very well... I have gotten some stale grain before, however I continue to go to this store for what I need. read more

I usually shop at Listermann's since it's 5 minutes away. But I decided to give Paradise a try since I've heard nothing but good things. My dad and I arrived on a Thursday evening. We were greeted cordially and asked if we had questions. I told him what we were brewing and asked for advice. He said "This is your beer. I'm just here to get the supplies." I was pretty surprised by this. I mean, the main reason I went there was to get help with a partial mash recipe and I wasn't getting any help, except measuring the grains and grinding them. This was going to be my first time using liquid yeast and I made the mistake of not looking at the Best By date until I got home: it was May 2013! So now I have way old yeast to deal with. Since it's a 45 minute drive, I can't waste my time going back to exchange it. It's not worth the traffic and gas. I'm sure this was a fluke, since a good friend of mine has nothing but good things to say about it. I was definitely disappointed. read more
