Stopped in recently for dinner after a Bengals game and had a great time. If you're leaving the stadium area it's a 20 minute walk with some uphill, but well worth the trek to get ahead of the crowds. The bars near the stadium were mobbed. The seating is family style with long tables. You can order via QR codes (meh) or walk up to the side of the bar for food and drink. The manager came around and introduced himself to everyone and was all over the place. Helping in the kitchen, bar, cleaning up etc.. He's definitely an asset because he didn't disappear as the rush started coming in. The inside is nicely decorated and I was digging their Voodoo/skull theme. We settled in and watched the 4pm NFL game on one of the large TV's while chatting with some disappointed Bengals fans and locals. Beer wise they had a nice selection of classic Voodoo brews (we used to get them a lot in the Philly area several years ago), a balance of styles and some newer brews I'd never heard of. If you enjoy the dark side of beer the Where Our Secrets Go Imperial Stout was delicious and thankfully more along the lines of the traditional style Impy Stout. I had an IPA that I can't remember the name of, but it had a nice Belgian yeast/hop twist to it. My son enjoyed their root beer. Food wise the Jumbo Chicken Wings, roasted in house hit the spot, I highly recommend them. I added their Good Vibes BBQ "Sawce", but you can get them dry rubbed or chose from several other "Sawces". The wings were big with fresh meat and the sauce was great. The Pub pretzel we ordered was huge and the good vibes beer cheese complimented it well. The Mr. Pickles Fried Pickles were also a great choice for an app. They were a big portion. My friend had the Chili Mac and my son ordered the Lil Mashburgers - 2 little smashburgers oozing with cheddar & chippies off the kids menu. We ate, had a couple of beers and enjoyed our dinner at Voodoo before we explored more of downtown Cincy. I'll be honest I wanted to avoid BrewDog and Voodoo and experience home grown Cincinnati breweries, but we were really happy we stopped at Voodoo. It wasn't great, it wasn't bad. We got the beer cheese queso, some wings, and fries. The beer cheese wasn't great, the chips were a little stale. We ordered extra hot wings, and the sauce was great but to make it "extra hot" they just added a metric ton of hot pepper or some hot seasoning, and it was nearly inedible. They were extremely over sauced. The fries were okay. My dry rub wings were good. It's basically self serve, you order on the website via QR code. They brought our food all at once due to that, to include the appetizer. Service was quick but we only saw our "waiter" once to deliver our food. If we had needed refills, we wouldn't have gotten them. We didn't even get silverware and only got one appetizer plate. The ambiance was nice, it's a great looking facility. I probably won't be back though, unfortunately. Just not great enough to bother going again. We did have one beer off the draft list that was good. The dragons milk. read more

For my most recent visit I tried the Voo-dill pickle pizza because it sounded so interesting. The dill seasoning was delicious (no wonder it's a secret), and I loved the garlic pesto base. I'm glad I tried it because it's a weird combo that works so well. You got a decent size pizza for the deal as well but don't feel so stuffed and slow after because it's thin. We also got the cocktail flight because all the holiday drinks sounded so delicious And fun. They're definitely on the sweet side, but very unique and in general all their cocktails taste very good and are different which I love. They are also very pretty drinks. Stopped by tonight for first and was pleasantly surprised. Cool spot with lots of open tables. It's been open for a bit but had never heard of it. Came in for Cincy chili week but decided to get a little bit of everything. I like being able to order straight on the phone and service was quick and friendly. Started out with a flight of beers. Nice selection from places other than around Cincinnati. We ordered the pickle pizza, mussels with blue cheese/bacon, chili Mac, and some wings. Pizza and mussels were our favorites. I've had a few pickle pizzas around town but this is by far my favorite. Thin crust with garlic pesto. So good. Mussels were great as well. Unique flavor. Didn't care for pita, would have rather had some bread to soak up. Wings were well seasoned and crispy. Buffalo garlic sauce was just ok. Bbq, about the same but could have eaten without any sauce tbh. Chili Mac sort of bland/ wouldn't get it again but glad it got us in the door. Talked to owner who was very nice for a bit. We stopped by Voodoo for lunch and a brew. The inside has some cool decor, with dark paint on the walls contrasted with bright artwork. The beer menu hangs large behind the bar, and categorized nicely by type of brew which makes it easy to find what you're looking for. The seating is a bit odd. There are three very large community style tables that run diagonal across the middle of the restaurant. However, we found it to be an awkwardly long distance across the table width wise so the three of us ended up sitting all on the same side, also because this side faced one of the few TV's. For food, we tried the 'Voodoo Nachos', 'Big Easy Cheesy' pizza with chicken and caramelized onions, and 'Lil Smashburgers'. The nachos were disappointing -- pretty bland and under garnished given the amount of chips. The pizza had a roasted garlic pesto sauce as the base, which we were looking forward to, however the garlic ended up being extremely overpowering and thus a major downside to the pizza. The smashburgers were the best item we tried, and also a steal at $7.99 from the kids menu. Overall, Voodoo missed the mark a bit for us this visit, but I'm guessing this might be a one-off based on the overwhelming amount of positive reviews. read more

If you're in Cincinnati and hunting for a post-workout feast (bulking season or not), Voodoo is the move. My son and I stumbled in looking for gains-friendly grub, and boy, did we hit the jackpot. We started with the Three Little Pigs pizza, featuring the spiciest, most flavorful sauce that had us both questioning if it was the secret to PRs. That pizza was so good, it deserved its own workout playlist. For the main course, my son demolished The Hangover in 7 bites flat--a record even for post-leg day. The smash burger paired with homemade chips? Chef's kiss. Meanwhile, I took on the patty melt, which was seasoned so perfectly it felt like a symphony was playing on my taste buds. My Mr. mentioned coming here. Of course I can't turn down a good brew pub and grub. We dined in on a Friday night. They had so much going on. They had a live band playing. Seating is mostly mess hall style and a laid back crowd. Very open and spacious. Easy transaction, you seat yourself, either order at the bar or scan the code on the tables (someone will bring your food and beverages out to you). The menus are your basic pub food. From salads to appetizers, burgers, pizzas, and wings. They even have a kids menu. They offer their beers, other craft beers, wines and cocktails. They have so much of their signature and unique beers on the menu. I was impressed. We ordered: -Voo-Dill Pickle Pizza: House made garlic pesto, shredded mozzarella, thick cut pickles and voodoo's super top secret Voo-dill seasoning. -Big Easy Cheesy- House made marinara (or you can choose garlic pesto) topped with shredded mozzarella. -Wine Cabernet Sauvignon Chronic Cellars -Oh Mama golden American lager -Jabroni Express New England IPA Food came out in less than 15 minutes and they were pretty busy. I was very satisfied with our pizzas. Flat bread style. The pickle pizza was my favorite. My Mr enjoyed the beers that much and wanted to bring home a variety 12 pack. The service at the bar was great! We ended up giving the bartender a celsius because we were getting on a flight. The pretzel and beer cheese were fire. Everyone loved the fried pickles. My bf got the wings with the hottest sauce and he was hurting by the end but he said it was worth it. The chef had recommended the sauce personally which was awesome. The beer was great! A coworker and I stopped by on a rainy day for lunch. We were quite surprised with the selection of their food menu. Apps, salads, sandwiches,wraps, burgers, Cincy favorites-chili,wings & hot dogs. you order online and your food is brought to you minutes later everything was fresh and hot. I enjoyed the beer cheesesteak. It was a very generous sandwich, and my coworker enjoyed the turkey BTLA which also was plentiful plus the fries had great seasoning. In a perhaps oversaturated brewery market this certainly qualifies as one of them. I've only visited once and I appreciate that they carry some other locals, but I struggled to find a few beers that I truly enjoy. Being a brewery first they had several beers, but be warned, they do not have a full bar. I give them high marks for some delicious fried pickles, an excellent bar snack. They have servers that will come to your table, but I found it was easier just to order drinks at the bar. Deserves a second look. read more

Finally made my way to Voodoo Brew to try some beer and pizza!! I was not disappointed in the least. I was so interested in the two Lacto-Kooler beers and they were just what I was expecting!! Wouldn't recommend it if you're a "beer should taste like beer" person, but I like sweeter beers like sours and Berliner Weiss beers so it was right up my alley! Also tried the watermelon seltzer, super refreshing! Would be a great summer seltzer. Vivrant Thing was a pale ale I tried that was more of a beer taste and was also very good! Of course I had to try a cocktail! I had the dragon fire margarita, the bartender forgot about the rim, but I didn't mind! This was such a great take on a jalapeño marg, but not gonna lie, I loved the color of it, too lol! We got two pizzas, the Three Little Pigs and the Voodoo Pickle. Both were very good, but I'm still day dreaming about that pickle pizza!! So good!! The decor is right on par with the theme, with the skulls and fun paintings! It would be a great venue to watch a sports with lots of tvs. They have their ordering system set up so you can order from a QR code at your table, which is nice because you don't have to get up to order at the bar, and you can just keep your tab running! The only problem was that I didn't realize I wasn't adding to the tab I already had going every time I ordered something else, so I ended up having 3 tabs open at some point! I couldn't figure out how to close my last tab, so I left it open hoping they would just take out 20% for tip as a lot of places do when you leave an open tab. During my recent visit to Voodoo Brew Pub, I had to get their Salt N Peppa Fries with Beer Cheese. So far this has been my favorite beer cheese I've found in Cincinnati and that's coming from a Kentucky girl. Ordering food and drinks is made easy as each of the tables/high tops have a QR code and a table number where you can pay your tab online and your order is brought directly to you. Voodoo Brew Pub even provides various board games and other fun games (Jenga, Connect 4, etc.) to play while enjoying a beer with your friends. My go to beer is the Home Run Lager and it's said that ordering this beer "will exponentially increase the odds of Reds runs even when they aren't playing" so of course I do my part and always order it. If I feel like changing it up I'll order the Green Lacto-Kooler which is a sour ale that is, as you probably have guessed, green. The bar itself is a laid back environment with plenty of tvs to watch whatever sport is currently going on and is decorated with colorful string lights, doors on the ceiling that lead to nowhere, and all of the bar stools at the high-tops have backs to them (starting to appreciate that more and more). Make sure to stop by on a Thursday evening to join trivia night which can get pretty competitive. read more

My lady and I drove by this spot countless time, but since they were participating in Cincy Pizza Week, that gave us the perfect excuse to try it out. And we're glad we did! Excellent pizza, great beer, and a very laid back and unique atmosphere with a great staff. We went on a Friday evening and they had a live acoustic act playing. It was a little busy but not super busy. The place itself is not huge but has lots of seating, mainly beer hall style seating. Want to place an order? You can either do it from your seat by scanning a QR code with your phone or just go up to the bar. They bring it all to you when it's done. They have LOTS of beers to choose from as well as wine and cocktails. The food menu is pretty big too featuring classic pub grub turned up to 11. For pizza week, they had two pizzas featured, the voo-dill pickle pizza and the big easy cheesy, both 12" flatbread style. We ordered one of each along with a pint of Oh Mama golden American lager for me and a glass cabernet for her. It didn't take long at all for our pizzas to be ready, and both were very tasty, especially the voodill. Of course we wanted another round of drinks, so I had the Jabroni Express New England IPA and another cabernet. I liked the beer so much that I had to grab a mixed 12-pack to go. Yep, they have brews to go, along with lots of merch for sale. Voodoo is voodooing it right! The place itself is very cool and they gave lots of goodies to offer. You can tell we enjoyed a place if we're already talking about our next visit before we even leave our first one. This was definitely one of those cases. We'll be back, Voodoo! read more

Voodoo Brewing was my family's first stop during Santacon this year. We were offered a random ride on a peddle wagon and they dropped us off here!! The moment I walked in, I immediately fell in love with the interior, the dark walls and neon decor, as well as long wooden tables that are perfect for a collaborative event. We were a group of just 5, but this would be a perfect stop for large groups of 10 and more, I also would be interested in renting it out for a private event!! The menu totally fit the vibe, neon liquid chalk markers in doodles to capture the indie vibe. We did not order food, but we all had drinks. I ordered a flight including the Cowbell, Lacto-Kooler Red, Big Black Voodoo Daddy, Wynona's Big Brown Ale, and the Downeast Maple Waffle Cider. I also tried the Lacto-Kooler Green. Some of the beers were quite strong, although not lacking in flavor!! The Lacto-Koolers are excellent sours to try, even if you aren't normally a fan of sours. I really loved the Downeast Maple Waffle cider, everyone in my family was a fan of it, which is uncommon due to our varying preferences! I am biased to stouts, and the Cowbell was pretty milky (obviously lives up to the name!) and the Big Black Voodoo Daddy was quite strong, but I enjoyed the smaller portion that comes with a flight. I would totally come back!! Excellent staff support, and most importantly, great beer! Next time I would love to stay for food, but was more just stopping in on our Cincinnati wide Santacon bar crawl!! Cool spot with board games! I ended up getting the Scooter, which isn't actually one of Voodoo's beers, and it was quite pricey - $7 for a pint?! I tried some of their beers but wasn't a fan. We ended up sharing the one beer and playing Connect 4 which was quite nice. There's lots of indoor seating with big screens everywhere, and 4-5 picnic tables outside. read more

I feel the need to disclaim this review: I only tried voodoo from the perspective of Wing Week. I did not have any of their beers, so I am giving a star back because I feel it's unfair to judge a brewery without tasting the beer. By this trip alone, this should be a two-star review. With that in mind, let's talk wings. They pass. That's really the nicest thing I have to say about them. Without the promotion of wing week, I wouldn't pay their current menu prices for them. I also elected to get celery and carrots, which I also feel was a terrible value. The celery and carrots we received was two baby carrots and three halves of a celery stalk, one of which was wilted - we paid only an extra dollar for it, and I still feel swindled. The voodoo rub is tasteless. BBQ was actually pretty decent. However, I regularly experienced bone fragments in the wing. Once can be forgiven; but thrice, not so much. My teeth are not a fan of suddenly biting into bone where none should be. Ambience is about what you expect, but in no way memorable. Communal tables are neat and executed well. I suppose ultimately, I didn't think Voodoo was bad. Instead, I think it's forgettable. read more

The picture is the first time i went.. Garlic buffalo.. if you love spice, when you hear Buffalo you expect a LITTLE heat.. not hot but a little heat. The first time i went i got the pic you see and i wasn't a fan, a bartender told me they shouldn't look like that and i should try them again.. i did.. and they looked the part the second time but another bartender told me they didn't ask for my opinion and was upset i was criticizing the wings.. he said "Im not the kitchen, like he isn't the extension and liasion between customer and company.. great beer, but if you want wings there's better options and if you order ANY kind of food. We were really happy with our first experience at Voodoo. I did a flight of beers. They have some pretty strong beers to offer. They were solid. They had some sours and the like that my wife enjoyed. The food was pretty good too. It's bar food, but it's good bar food. Also, their fries reminded me of Five Guys. I got the Cajun and they tasted so much like them. My bride and I stopped for drinks and dinner after a Who Dey preseason game. Atmosphere is open, very clean and well maintained. All ordering is done from your phone and a member of staff drops it off. Drinks came quick and food followed just as fast. We shared the bang bang shrimp which was delicious. My wings were average and my brides mushroom burger was excellent. I suggest trying the Cajun fries. They were perfect. Thumbs up for consistency. When in Erie i make it a point three times a year to visit that location and everything I have ordered has been wonderful. Thought I would try the hometown pub and after much debate - so many tempting things to order - tried the Swine burger. It just blew me away. If you like BBQ you will love this. The house made sauce is superb. Great old beer hall feel to the place, or in this case here and Erie. Give it a try. You will be glad you did.
