I was looking for a restaurant that served oysters near our home. This popped up on Yelp and I couldn't help but to read the reviews and to check it out. This is the type of place you pass by but don't know it's there. I think this was previously a plant/nursery shop at one point but didn't know it turned to a restaurant. It's been here for 3 years so this is definitely a hidden gem for me. I didn't know what to expect of this place. You walk in and man... it has Gatlinburg vibes. A small cozy cabin so nostalgic that you are in for a treat. We got to pick our seat and Kyra was our server. Very down to earth and attentive. The menu is very simple. They do sell appetizers, salads, sandwiches, sides and famous for their oysters. Lots of a la carte. Drink menu is also simple but by looking at it, they thought this through with pairing with the meals. Cocktails, wine and beer. We ordered: Drinks: -Bottle of the Sicilia Clara Sala (Grillo) Dinner: -Dozen of raw oyster -Coastal Crab Cakes (chipotle dell template, champagne slaw) -Brussels Sprouts (lemon vinaigrette, Parmesan cheese) -Side of Pasta Salad When the oysters came out. I truly enjoyed it. Fresh from Connecticut. Shucked to perfection and my fave was adding the horseradish and lemon to the oysters. The rest of our meals were magnificent. The crab cakes were the best I've ever had. The sauce went so well with the crab and coleslaw. Loved the hints of lemon in our Brussels sprouts. Our side of pasta salad was great. Came here on a whim on a Friday evening and I have to say... this place is SUCH a vibe - in a good way. If felt so cozy inside and the staff was so nice. You could tell automatically that this place had their regulars and they are quite classy lol. I didn't realize that this place is more of a bar than a restaurant and that's okay because now I want to come here just for a drink sometime! Anyway, we ordered dinner.. my husband ordered their double burger and he enjoyed it. This is a fun little spot. We sat on the deck, which was really nice. Our server recommended some options since we'd never been there. I had the shrimp burger and it was fabulous. We also enjoyed the chicken wings and the shoestring fries. As others have said, the beer pricing isn't on the menu and the prices were a bit steep. My lady found this spot right here on Yelp and has wanted to go for a while so I decided we should check it out. From the experience we had, we pretty much fell in love with the place. The service was awesome, the food was amazing, and the ambiance was very rustic and cozy. We went on a Saturday evening. This is definitely one of those places I'd classify as a hidden gem because it's so easy to overlook due to how small it is. But don't let its size fool you, it may be small in size, but it's BIG in character and flavor. The menu isn't huge at all but does have a nice variety. Theie libations menu isn't big either, but features a nice selection of cocktails, beer, and a limited amount of wine. We mainly came for the oysters which are available Thursdays and Saturdays after 5pm. Our server, Kyra, was super friendly and welcoming. We started with a bottle of Sicilia Clara Sala Grillo, listed as Coastal White on their menu. We also ordered a dozen oyster, two crab cakes, brussel spouts, and a side of pasta salad. We definitely did not wait long at all before everything was ready and all very delicious. The oysters tasted super fresh, like they were caught out of the ocean this morning. The crab cakes were possibly the best we've ever had. The brussel sprouts were epic with the lemon vinaigrette and Parmesan cheese. The pasta salad was just perfect too. And the wine we chose paired very well with it all. We were raving about everything we had! This is one of the best hidden gems we've ever tried. Stepping into this place feels like walking into a rustic mountainside restaurant in Gatlinburg. We'll absolutely be coming back here soon for more oysters. read more

They have both inside and outside seating, which is great on a cool day with your dog. The outside seating has a large fan that was great to keep the breeze going. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, coleslaw, grilled cheese and truffle fries. All of their fries are always well seasoned and delicious. This adorable place has been on my radar for awhile...mainly because it looks like some of the MA seashore seafood shacks my husband and I loved so much on our trip a couple years ago AND they boast oysters shucked to order on Tues/Thurs/Sat! We went on a Saturday around lunchtime and I was a bit disappointed to learn that they don't start shucking oysters until 5p, which is the only reason they're getting a 4/5 because there's nowhere on their website or IG I could have learned that info. Besides that though the staff was super friendly and explained how the ordering/food pickup process goes and we were able to order quickly and also received our food quickly! We sat outside on their patio which overlooks the cutest creek and has all the vibes of a summer hangout spot you could want. The Lobsta Bakes Shrimp Burger was delicious, full of big chunks of shrimp and had the consistency of an oversized crab cake . The pasta salad was also perfectly vinegary and fresh...everything you want from a hot day side. Those truffle fries THOUGH those were probably some of the best truffle fries I've had! I will DEFINITELY be back to try those oysters and one of their killer looking cocktails. read more

Covalt puts some type of seasoning on the fries that make them totally addictive. Service was excellent. The ambience was great. Flavors and taste were fine, however, the hoggie bun was too tough especially compared to what you get in New Orleans. Softer is better. Easier to bite through would have been better. The Brussel sprout salad lacked execution. The dressing was off, the composition was poor and homogeneous. It was a goopy mess. All that said, I like the place. It is a little cute cozy place though and it wasn't too loud which was super nice. I wasn't a huge fan of the food but the fries were actually quite tasty! I thought it was odd that during mid conversation one of the workers came over and said you don't like your sandwich?? It caught me a little off guard because you go up to the bar and order/pay for your food. I think it's a good place to come and get a little bite to eat and catch up but don't expect anything crazy. This is a crowd of hipster hunters, the Ohio breed of hipster, ironically dressing like hicks and alt-right protesters while catering to a crowd of Terrace Park mom's driving their golf-carts down the street to grab burgers with the kids. Lots of taxidermy, wood cabin accoutrement. Expect to feel like you are going to a backwoods hunting lodge to watch the masters golf tournament, and everyone is very friendly and the service is stellar. The reality is when the burger isn't over cooked its perfection. Tillamook cheddar, great bun, tastes like a vlasic pickle on it. The guy at the grill knows what he is doing... in all honestly he seemed overqualified. You know in action movies, when they the group trying to escape finds a chopper and someone says, "have you flown one of these before?" The character says never, and they barely make it out alive. Not this chef--he's an ace pilot. Put down the face mask, pop in those ear plugs, recline your seat and open your mouth for one of the best burgers in Cincinnati. read more

I think you have to go into this with the right mindset. It seems like it's primarily a bar, that happens to have food. If you think of it that way, it's lovely. Food was just okay, seemed like a bar food kind of vibe. Drinks were great! I'll say the ketchup on the table was either no good, or was a generic brand. Never had such bad ketchup. LOVED the fries! It's very clear that so much thought and energy went into the build-out and decor to make such a unique space.
