I've been wanting to check this place out for the longest time. My Mr. dined here before Covid and raves about this place. Your basic pub and grub foods but it's much more than that. More like a neighborhood bar with dedicated locals. You can tell when you walk in. The inside is old school but revamped. Small in the inside but the crowd is super friendly. They do have outdoor seating. The menu is basic. Appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wings. They do have open bar and sell craft and domestic beers, wine and cocktails. If you want to watch a game, there are plenty of TV's for entertainment. We dined in for lunch on a Saturday and ordered: Drinks: Great Lakes Christmas Ale Great Lakes Easy Buckets blonde ale Cincy light (for me) Lunch: Build-your-own burger Fish and chips My burger was really great! Haven't had a tuna melt in ages so decided to try their Lenten special. I wasn't a game of the tuna salad, I'd prefer it with dill pickle rather than sweet pickle relish and I prefer no eggs in mine. A tuna melt in sourdough is not the best bread choice. Sour dough is, well sour, and the juxtaposition of the tuna with sweet relish was not palatable to me. My husband loved his top gun burger and our friends love the club sandwich here. I like that they offer Lenten specials. It might just be this particular sandwich that fell short for me. read more

Best chicken wings ever! It can get pretty packed with lots of regulars, and they aren't the most welcoming. But the bartenders are friendly and I feel like that matters more. One time I ordered an old fashioned with Woodford, and it was soooo good. I ordered food and then a beer, I got the bill and thought wow that's really expensive but blindly paid it. I looked at the receipt when I got home and she charged me for an old fashioned, and I'm assuming a straight Woodford on the rocks, two separate charges, $20 altogether. So that sucked. When we walked up to the door, there is a sign saying BEST OF THE EAST. Not noway not nohow. We walked in and the host (?) had his back to us. Finally someone told us to sit wherever we wanted. The place is the next best thing to a dive. If you'relooking for a low class hook-up, this would be the place. I tried this place for burger week since I was on that side of town. We had the loaded tater tots which was very good. I had the Top Gun burger which was a smash burger that had mustard on it when you cook it (common when you make smash burgers on the blackstone griddle) with basic toppings and America. Cheese. it was a really good burger and my daughter had the Giddy Up which had bbq sauce and an onion ring. She said hers was good too. If I am on that side of town I will be going. read more

Located in a not very busy area of Anderson. It has a really good sports bar vibe, if that is what you are going for and a huge outdoor patio area. It was just a little too dark and packed table wise inside for my liking. They had one server for the entire area, so it was a little slower than anticipated, but I will say they food we had was REALLY good. I came here for Cincy Wing Week and realized, I had been here long ago when I first moved to Cincy for a drink or two *wink*. On this day I called in my order ahead for pickup. Parking is mostly behind the building as the first handful of spots are reserved for the pet center next door. You will have to go inside to retrieve your order. Walking from the lot I noticed they have a really nice, large back patio and giant tent behind that. There was also a patio in front, although being cold, nobody was using it. When I walked in the door, there was a large group of unmasked "townies" playing Golden Tee. I had to ask them to leven let me through. Ive tried to be very careful during these times and this alone would keep me from coming back. The employees were wearing masks and promptly waited on me. I walked up to the bar and retrieved my order and paid. I then had to walk back through the large group of guys. I wish I had read others reviews first, as I see I am not the only one with this complaint. For my food I ordered the mango jalapeno wings. I really liked the sauce. The wings themselves were ok meat wise, but were fatty/greasy. I was pleased to see they came with blue cheese and celery. The real star of my meal was the burger! Wow! I chose to do the build your own with bacon, mushrooms, horseradish cheese (my fave part), and all the fixins. The burger itself was cooked perfect with a little pink in the middle. It was large in size. The toppings were fresh and generous. The bacon was nice and crispy. I chose to get the tots on the side and those were also delicious. I am sad, as the burger here was something I would come back for again and again, but things will have to be different with vaccines and such for me to take that risk. read more

Solid pub food. We had the fried peppers and pickles, so good, but a little on small side as far as serving sizes. We both had the pub burger, served on a pretzel bun, it was really good. Lots of different seating options here, inside and out. Varied crowd from old to young. Easy parking in the lot. Our first visit to ATP was just after they reopened after the COVID shutdown. They were slow, and very welcoming/ appreciative of new business. I think they were taking more care in the food they were preparing. We had all agreed that their burgers were some of the best in the area. We have ordered twice since then, once eating in person, and aging for takeaway. Burgers were good, but not 5 star amazing. Both times the fries were greasy. One of the times, half of the burgers were dry, and over cooked. As they have got back into the swing of things, quality contro has not been as good. Service each of those times was fine. read more

Update: Maybe the first visit was a good day or maybe the second visit was a bad day-- but I just have to dock them a star for service and the potato skins on our recent visit. We stopped by on a Sunday around noon and only the bartender was working. The waitress wouldn't be in until 2 so there was one lady working the whole building plus two patios; needless to say the service wasn't good at all. She was very nice but why was she alone? After receiving no attention at the front patio, we walked and sat at the back patio. After our meals, we had to go back inside to flag her down to pay. My plan was to request a side of ranch to maybe liven them up but again, no service. - Had a wonderful dinner on the patio! We stopped by after soccer practice on a Thursday to find an empty front patio. It was our first time and we were quickly sat by a wonderful pair of host/hostess. The front patio itself is nice with three TVs, music, lights and tables with umbrellas. There's also a back patio that we did not check out. Our waitress was awesome; quiet but attentive. About halfway through our experience, before food came out, she brought my toddler a huge bucket of crayons and a coloring book with stickers. Needless to say my little was happy. The food, mmmm! I'm not a big burger girl but the Turpin Hills was excellent. My husband and I both loved it. I got chips which were super salty and hubs got fries, he wasn't too thrilled with the fries. We got a table and I was just telling my wife that it would probably be a while before we got served when Sydney came over and took our order. Ate lunch at the bar on Saturday for the 3rd time in the last month.. Hanky Panks were good but corners were burnt - black Boneless chicken wings were over cooked and like hockey pucks. Came here to watch the Bengals play and it was very cool! I love the pub like feel. Place was packed but they have a corner area we were able to sit in. There are plenty large screen tvs everywhere so you can view at any angle. We ordered loaded tater tots, the Pub special and Philly cheesesteak and everything was great. We orders all at once thinking our apps would come out first then food later but it came all together... we should have waited. Service was great, waitress was very attentive. Had dinner here as a wedding party. Drinks were mediocre. I ordered a vodka sprite & it was as expected. Someone else had ordered a strawberry daiquiri and it looked good so I ordered one. It honestly was not good. It was Strawberry purée and liquor. The purée was super thick & didn't want to come through the paper straw, didn't mix well with the liquor at all. The food was OK, had the chopped salad with chicken & the sun dried tomato vinaigrette, wasn't too bad. The fries were really good with the (ATP?) sauce. So overall an okay place. Good place to grab a beer and some pub food. Lots of seating inside & out. We went at 7pm on a Wednesday with a group of 8 and sat right down. Cheese Curds were 10/10. Hanky Spankies - the topping was great and plentiful but the bread was burnt around the edges. This place has been completely renovated and has an excellent kitchen now. They had staffing issues in the past but really doubled down to obtain and keep top kitchen talent. The chefs have a really good palette, albeit a calorie dense one, lol. It's hard to write a review when you never get waited on. We were asked to wait 10 minutes even though there were empty tables. Once seated we heard our waiter say to the waitress he had too many tables and then just continued to ignore us for at least 15 minutes so many times in fact that the table behind us we were chatting with started counting how many times he walked by us. I'm sure their waitress heard them but also did nothing. When the table next to us was seated their waitress came over before they had time to look at the menu so we just left. After attending Cincinnati Magazine's Burger Bash in July, I wanted to branch out try more of the ranked burgers that I haven't had. ATP served up their 8oz Federal Hill at Burger Bash and it was enough to make me want to visit for me. I'm not a person who likes a lot of fixings and toppings on my burger, because I want to taste the flavor of the meat so I went for the Telegraph Hill -- all their burgers are delicious! After much discussion with the server I decided on the onion rings while my friend got the fries and I'm glad I got the onion rings, they are great! The fries were soggy and nothing worth mentioning. The atmosphere is that of a sports bar filled with locals. The outdoor seating was filled up when we visited and I can see why since the jukebox was a bit loud for table conversation. I'll never understand why bars the need to make the music loud enough to be heard outside. Many venues are guilty of this and sooner I lose my hearing the less likely I'll be to dine out. Take a friend on Thursdays when it is buy one burger, get one half off. read more

Anderson Township Pub - Telegraph Hill at ATP - Pubs Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Every community ought to have a place like the Anderson Township Pub: a dark, cozy, cave-like bar-and-grill that, except for the many flat-screen TVs for sports-watching, probably hasn't changed much since 1982, when it opened. (In fact, it feels a bit older than that, which is a good thing.) And when I say ATP is dark, I mean dark: If you visit during daylight hours, the sunlight will stun you when you step outside. As with many places like ATP, the walls are loaded with photos of local sports figures and luminaries as well as ordinary folks. The long bar is festooned with the requisite white Christmas lights. ATP has a short bar menu consisting of the usual fare: burgers, deli sandwiches, wings, nachos, and salads. Burger was relatively standard-issue and big (eight ounces), but I must credit the kitchen for doing what many Cincinnati kitchens haven't been able to do for me in recent months: properly cook a burger to order. Fries appear to be hand-cut and are better than average. Joints like ATP are a nice and needed antidote to the sterile, interchangeable chain wing joints and sports bars that gobble up more and more of the 21st-century suburban landscape. As far as I can tell, ATP is one of the few places of its type in the very suburban Anderson Township: It has the lived-in comfort that, if you live in the community, will feel a bit like adjunct living quarters.
