If you haven't been to MPH Brewing in Montgomery, you're either stuck in traffic... or parked somewhere three blocks away wondering if this place is really worth the walk. Spoiler: it is. The only real complaint here is that the parking situation occasionally resembles a Black Friday doorbuster...,,except instead of discounted TVs, you're fighting for proximity to exceptional beer and people who actually seem glad you showed up. From the moment you walk in, you get hit with something rare these days: genuine, unscripted hospitality. Sierra, the general manager, runs the place with the kind of quiet authority that says, "Yes, we're in control....and yes, you're going to enjoy yourself." She's sharp, composed, and clearly the reason everything hums instead of hiccups. Then there's Maddie...her sister....who is essentially a human champagne cork. Every interaction pops, sparkles, and somehow gets more entertaining the longer you're around her. Watching Sierra and Maddie interact is like seeing discipline and delightful chaos shake hands and decide to run a brewery together. The result? A place that feels both dialed-in and alive. Caroline deserves her own headline. Not just pleasant...precision-level accommodating. The kind of service where you don't have to ask twice, and usually don't even have to ask once. She and Maddie made sure we were completely taken care of out on the porch, including getting a fire going when the temperature dipped into that sneaky "do I need a jacket or not?" zone. That's not service..,.that's anticipation. The food? Legitimately strong. The prosciutto and fig jam pizza hits that perfect balance of sweet, salty, and "why did we not order two of these?" Their salads don't feel like a punishment, and the sandwiches,,..let's just say people aren't exaggerating. You'll see tables guarding them like trade secrets. Now the beer....this is where MPH separates itself from the "nice patio, average product" crowd you find scattered along certain nearby river-adjacent zones. These beers don't just show up,,.they perform. Clean, well-crafted, and across a lineup that feels like a brewmaster who knows exactly what he's doing and isn't guessing. You could drop several of these into a national competition and they wouldn't just participate--they'd make noise. What stands out most is the environment. Relaxed without being lazy, energetic without being chaotic. If the weather cooperates, sitting outside is one of the most enjoyable, almost unfairly pleasant experiences you'll find in Montgomery. I didn't get to spend much time at this brewery, but I very much enjoyed the amount I did. We arrived just in time to order a pizza. The bartender quickly spotted up as we sat down at the bar and asked for our order. I appreciate the range of available beers. Not a hefty number of hazy IPAs. I had a fantastic doppelbock (tis the season!) and a sample of their wee heavy. Both delicious. We visited on a Saturday evening, and it was hopping! The brewery itself is inviting, set up so that it is welcoming to families, couples, singles, and groups. The staff we interacted with were all incredibly friendly and attentive. This was our first time here. The restaurant/bar area is very clean. TV's all around so you can watch sporting events. The bar staff was very engaging and helpful with our questions. We went with flights so we could sample more beer options. The Kolsch and Olde Razz were my favorite. We started with the dusted tots, spinach and artichoke dip and pretzels with beer cheese. All were delicious. For entrees, my boys went with cheese pizza and a hot honey pizza. They loved the flavors and the way they were cooked. The adults went with the Cuban Panini and the Fig and Prosciutto pizza. If you like figs and fig jam this is for you. Cooked perfect and everything tasted fresh. MPH Brewing hosted a fundraiser for CancerFree KIDS which is what drew us to come for the first time! The beer was great, we got the skinny jeans and the kolsch. The pretzels as an appetizer were perfect- especially the cheese. We split the hot honey pizza and buffalo chicken wrap and it was a great amount to take home leftovers as well! We booked MPH Brewing for an event and it was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious - way above what you would expect at a brewery and honestly just amazing in its own right. You can tell the staff was very proud of their menu and I can see why. We also custom ordered a cake it looked just like that emoji. Fluffy and flavorful. They had a great selection and collaborated with other businesses to bring in sours and ciders since they don't make those in house - my tummy was thrilled. They also had a gorgeous and huge outdoor patio. The last thing that really set them apart: their service was exceptional. We dealt primarily with Nate who I wanted to be my bestie, and you can tell there was great communication between the owners and staff. Every person we worked with had joy in what they did. I've always loved the way the brewer at MPH captures the malt flavor for many different styles. Now that I've done home brewing, I have more insight and more appreciation for what they're doing right. Got all of the dark beers - so perfectly balanced and smooth despite the bit malt flavor and high ABV. We came at an off hour with a low crowd and got great service (getting two flights.) The wood fired pizza is just as good or better than I remember it. It's not heavy or greasy and I know I'll feel good and energetic after eating this. Awesome cracker crust pizza with good selection of toppings! Recently, we visited for dinner where there was a raffle going on for St Ursula. There were a lot of people for a Thursday night who were drinking and enjoying their pizza. The beer selection went from a Peanut Butter Stout to West Coast IPAs. They had quite a bit of seating available with added seating outside and in the bonus room to the right of entrance. To order food, you have to go up and order and the bar while the bartender stares at you as there is not a good printed menu to look at. The pizza came out in about 20 minutes after being ordered where they serve you through a number card. The pizza was very good as we got the Artichoke and Spinach pizza that was halved with the Meat Lovers pizza. read more

Nice place for a beer and pizza! It was a busy Friday night but husband and I found a table in the large, bright bar area. Ordered pizza and a a couple of beers at the bar - a TriuMPH and a Bitchin' Kitchen, and an Italian Trio wood-fired pizza. And with that, you got a pretty dang Good Friday night dinner! Pizza was very tasty, though the sausage was oddly dry and I wished it was a little warmer (temperature-wise, not spice-wise). The interior is nice but plain, and there were all ages present: adults, a few kids and babies. Plenty of parking on-site. We've driven by in the summer, when folks are out in the porch -- we'll try that out in a couple months. read more

Second time we planned to meet a large group of friends when we are back home for a visit. They're so accommodating and quickly set up a backroom for us when a storm came through. We started with a wheat selection, light crisp, lemony "end of summer" treat, then moved on to chicken Panini and the Spinach and Bacon pizza. All was great, even grabbing a taste of their Scottish Ale on the way out. Cool seating both inside and outside on the deck. They were firing up Trivia night, but we couldn't stay - maybe next time. We stopped in here last night to check it out. My husband ordered two different beers, the Session Monty and Squire. He enjoyed them both. He thought both had good flavor. Although, he did find it odd that Squire, which is an English Mild, was so high in alcohol, which is unusual. He chose the EuroLight Lager for his growler to take home. He enjoyed that one also. We were told that the area is a DORA, so that will be nice once the weather fully warms up. They have a great patio and there's plenty of parking nearby. In addition to the beer they also have wine, soft drinks and bourbon. They don't make mixed drinks, though. Only pours, neat or on the rocks. They also serve appetizers and pizzas. The workers were friendly too. We'll stop back in again sometime. read more

Finally had my inaugural visit to the new brewery in the heart of old Montgomery. The location ( used to belong to Pomodori's ) is ideal for a small brewery and is definitely ideal for a local hangout for Montgomery, Indian Hill and surrounding areas. Of course it's walking distance for anyone living close to Old Montgomery. They have patio seating and the inside isn't large, so to navigate Covid requirements they have a big tent in their parking lot. When I went I was alone at the bar ( and paying for an additional table of high school aged girls celebrating a birthday). Of course they do not take reservations but we were easily accommodated with patio seating and as I mentioned, I sat alone at the bar. I don't like beer( sounds blasphemous for this review right?!?). However, they have a nice selection of wine so I ordered something sweet a Pinot Grigio ( it was hot outside and sweet sounded refreshing to me). I ordered the Blanco Pizza which came out quickly and I customized toppings. The pizza was good and I think could even be better! I would like to see a few more options for toppings like chicken, and even a few more veggies, maybe even jalapeños. I think adding more topping options would fend well. The overall service was great and the girls all said they shared some pizza and tater tots and soft pretzels. They raved about the tots and pretzels. I wish I could add value ( true value) to a review about a Brewery, but since I don't like beer at all, you'll have to trust me that I noticed it said "left hand brewing" and the clever name alone is worthy of a visit to ask one of the proprietors how that was birthed. I hope this spot lasts and for their sake even adds some heaters so if Covid is around they can accommodate more folks than what the dining area will allow. read more

This pub opened in the last couple of years after completely renovating the old restaurant that was here, Pomodori's. Big kudos to the owners for keeping elements of the old interior in their renovation, particularly the wood fired brick pizza oven. This brew pub is located roughly between the #1 richest Township in Ohio, Indian Hill, and Montgomery where all the car dealerships and banks for the Indian Hill residents exist. They have 24+ beer on tap, and a good mix of the Ales and Lagers. The wait staff is great and seems to work in a team mode so food is always served as soon as it comes up. The place has a clean and organized feel and the bathrooms (if you care) are nice. The food is good. I've been here probably a half dozen times and have had many of the appetizers, pizzas, and sandwiches. It always comes out hot and fresh. The only head scratcher for me is why "tots" are on the menu. Must be someone's favorite, because other than Sonic and kids bday parties I don't ever expect to get tots. And this is juxtaposed to food items that include Prosciutto, Fig, and Hummus. "Would you like a side of hot dogs with your caviar, sir?" So before my epilogue, I definitely think it's worth dropping by for a pint. Epilogue ... my nit pick: The interior decoration is too internally focused to give the place a unique character. It's like visiting a staged house for sale...neat, clean, and washed of any personality so no visitors are offended by anything. Ownership group is found to be very approachable, the beers are delicious , and their pizzas are delicious . Wish they did bigger ones though , and yeah I'd pay for the bigger size at their quality . Love how they interact with the community as well, they've done fund raisers for instance , and have a DORA spot when it's nice out . Parking isn't too bad either , provided it's not a busy night out , but if it is you can always do public if you're looking to do multiple places around olde Montgomery . The food was really good. They have wings, pizza, pretzels, my chicken panini was excellent and flavorful. The pretzels are buttery, light, and airy. I have not had pretzels like this anywhere else. The wings are fried and very good, we had the Buffalo wings and they were big and meaty. The beers are different and interesting. My favorite was the Molly stout dark beer. Finally hit this place after driving past it for months. They have a nice patio area and also a tent out in the parking lot for outdoor seating, with indoor seating also available. Outdoor seating has a walk-up window on the patio for food/drink orders, which is nice. The beer menu is expansive with a lot of selections. The food, however...is lacking. Our table ordered loaded tots, pretzels, charcuterie board, pepperoni pizza, and an Italian sandwich to get a sampling of what the menu had to offer. The pizza and the pretzels were the winners, the others were clearly not. The pizza and pretzels were spot on, the others had an off taste that left much of the food untouched after a few bites. Great pizza spot, it's an interesting concept. You order everything at the counter and then sit. Unlike most counter service, you can then sit and they bring it to you. We had a delicious salad, house with vinaigrette. And because we like different things we ordered two pizzas. I had a garlic and EVOO, make your own with bacon, artichoke and two kinds of olives. My pie was covered in toppings and the crust was great. The test of a truly great pizza is the ability to eat it cold the next day. Crust was still delicious , not too hard to chew and I enjoyed it almost as much cold. There's not much interaction due to the way you order and are served but the staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating when we needed boxes or other things. There's a private reservation only room plus seating at bars and tables, it got a little loud but not terrible. Family friendly means families can be comfortable. This is for beer and ambiance only. We checked out MPH in the heart of downtown Montgomery one sunny day, and it was such a neat spot. They have a nice large inside area with a sprawling bar and open pizza oven kitchen. They also have a lovely patio, with umbrellas for each table, which is good because you may need the shade in the heat of the day. MPH offers an extensive list of beer brews, and I tried the Remington Gold, golden ale which was quite refreshing, as well as the Skinny Shandy which is a bright, and easy to sip shandy. The beer was "good", the food was good. the service was "sub-par" and that's being generous. not friendly or welcoming, at all! The staff seemed to care less about us being there. MPH stands for Montgomery Public House - in the old Pomodori restaurant space , so the Italian brick pizza oven came with the building ! Tasty craft beer - Who's your Nana , a wheat beer w subtle banana flavor is a favorite . Pizza has a thin chewy crust with high quality toppings. The vibe of MPH makes it stand out . It's well run with grown ups as part of the wait staff snd behind the bar. We love sitting on the patio . There is ample parking for the location. My husband was wanting to check out a new brewery on his first Father's Day so we ventured north to MPH after I had noticed it while running errands recently. They had a great setup (not sure if it's temporary due to COVID or more permanent) with picnic tables covered by a tent in the parking lot in addition to their usual indoor and patio seating. There was a lot of space (and a nice breeze on a humid day) so we opted for the parking lot seating. My husband is a fan of Hefeweizens and sours, so he was in heaven with the selection (not only do they brew their own, but they also offer beers from a Colorado brewery)! We both chose a flight and our own pizza (he ordered pepperoni and I ordered Buffalo chicken). We loved the laid-back ambiance and variety of beers so much that we both agreed we'll definitely be back. read more

Their partnership with Left Handed Brewery out of Colorado allows an even wider selection than most young breweries. We were here on a saturday afternoon to check it out not long after they opened. I like how they repurposed the space from pomadori. We only came for drinks and the beers were tasty. We want to come back to try the food soon as it looked good. The only thing that we thought was a bit strange was that there was no sound in the place as far as music or sound from a tv. It seemed oddly quiet and sort of sterile. It might has just been while we were there though. We will be heading back for another try. read more
