What a great spot! I have been wanting to try out Wandering Monsters for some time now. I saw a released beer on Facebook that made me decide to go try it out. Unfortunately for me living in Lebanon, Ohio, it is a bit of a trek but I use say, they did not disappoint! The vibe is so inviting for a you kind of diverse monster you are and any age. The staff was extremely friendly and ready to help and answer any questions. They have Duck Pin bowling, outdoor patio seating, great indoor space including a chill and watch a game area,a decent nice size menu including items for the little monsters and a diverse beverage menu with great beer choices and other options. This place is really good, but just under great. I love the logo/graphics throughout. They really have a brand going. The food is above average. Friendly staff. The only reason this is 4 and not 5 stars is the pricing is just all the way at the upper end. 6 wings for $14, 5 half jalapeño poppers for $11, even beers were above average. We each got an IPA and they were $8 and $9 each. I firmly believe that a business has the right to price their product how they see fit, and if the market supports it, that's what it's worth. If it were in my neighborhood, I'd probably go from time to time, but it's not, so at that price, just not worth the drive to me. read more

Its always great when you get tonsit down and talk to the main people - the head brewer for example, and get to know them and their experiences. As a self declared quesadilla enthusiast, theirs deserves a place in the quesadilla hall of fame - 10/10 would recommend. Their beer menu was pretty expensive and the Mexican lager was very yummy. This place was absolutely bumping on a rainy Saturday with families and several birthday parties (both kids and adults). It was somewhat of a frenzy for tables so plan your weekend visit accordingly. If you are looking for a chill adult bar, this probably isn't it on the weekend. Wandering Monsters Brewing wasn't officially on my "to try" list for breweries but I heard about the brewery more than once. An opportunity arose and I took the opportunity to try one of their beers. Needless to say this wasn't a disappointing in the slightest. Wr got one of their beers from their Monsters DOS series which is a series of rich, boozy stouts with different flavored themes or at least that's the impression I got with it. The specific flavor we tried was the Chocolate Covered Peanuts flavor. Coming in at 13% ABV this bottle of beer is best for sharing, that much is for sure. It's very boozy as one can expect and it also has flavor aspects of chocolate, nuttiness and a dry aftertaste. It's also a beer that's very aromatic. This beer is so rich it can easily be a dessert in of itself. This beer is a collaboration beer with Cycle Brewing out of Florida and it appears this entire Monsters DOS series are all collaborations with Cycle. read more

We popped into Wandering Monster during the Bengals bye week for some beers and bites. I started with a flight of beers that included: Sasquash (coffee pumpkin porter), Neon Squid (Austin IPA), Fogbringer 9 (NE IPA), and a stout... I liked all but one of the IPAs due to no fault of the brewer's. They use a newer hop variety I'm not fond of and have struggled to identify. As for food, we visited on a Sunday and ordered from the brunch menu. He got a brisket sandwich and said it was super solid and said all the beers were good and was not disappointed in anything. Eggs Benedict is my go to breakfast dish and enjoyed it, although I felt the $13 price tag was a little high considering it didn't come with any kind of side. I'm not sure what I expected from the space, but this wasn't it. Maybe I was expecting a bit more of a forest vibe instead of the run of the mill brewery feel? Maybe because I must have subconsciously created some kind of backstory around the monster in there logo? The merch was super cute, but the pricing wasn't visibly displayed anywhere that we could see. All in all a good visit that left us wishing the were a little closer to us. read more

This place. This is my Cheers. I was so excited for them to open as it is super close to my house. Jason did an excellent job in his previous position so it was awesome to see him open his own spot. The beers are just as fantastic as I could have expected. So far I have not had a single thing I did not like. They have been doing all kinds of collabs with other breweries as well as limited batch releases. There really is something for everyones tastes, not just beer nerds. Flights or single samples are available. The beer menu rotates so there is always something new! My Christmas present this year was to join their Mug Club, which I look forward to starting in the New Year. If you want to bring the family they have a few games and Duck pin bowling. The menu is great and they change that up a bit too. So far ive had the impressively large Baja Salad with smoked turkey, the smoked wings and the giant baked potato with pulled pork. Everything has been yummy. There is plenty of seating at the bar, tables and even a few couches. TVs are scattered about for game day. There is ideally plenty of parking but it is shared with other businesses. A patio is available for nice weather. Went up to Cincinnati to watch my horse race at Turfway and got a chance to swing over to Wandering Monsters for a meal and some brews. Will definitely recommend. First, this is a rather large microbrewery. Ample space, a full kitchen, an outdoor deck, and bowling. Yes, I said bowling. It is the downsized "duckpin" type of bowling, but a great addition for those seeking an experience. The beer is very good. Not surprising as Jason Brewer (what a great name, huh?) worked for Listermann Brewing before opening Wandering Monsters. If you like microbreweries, you can also hit the more intimate Paradise Brewing down the street or Happy 2 up 8 mile road. Jason does extremely well on a few styles. I really enjoyed the darks, sours, and IPAs. I would rank his brews up with Streetside and Fabled Brew Works (John Ewers worked at Streetside prior to opening Fabled). My favorite of the day was the Barrel Aged Red Velvet Cake, ranking it at 4.75 on Untappd. The food is good, but I felt it was marginal in comparison of the beer. I had a smash burger, which was fine, paired with a salad, which had a great dressing. Friends had fries, which looked great, but I can only go so far with glucose. After finishing the burger, I wish I had tried the BBQ, although they are limited on options during the week (weekends only for ribs, for example). I got a forkfull of the pulled pork and it was nice. I went back and forth on whether to do 4 stars or 5, but the duckpin bowling sealed its fate at 5 stars. Wildly underwhelming. As the first warm day of the year, we understand that families are itching to get out and let their children blow off some steam- however, kids were running rampant, crawling underneath furniture and on the floors with no parents in site. The food was ok, fries were $4 extra and came in a container the size of a palm. Beer was also just "ok", which is not a great mark when you're in a city that is so well known for good beer. The bartender that took our order was borderline rude on top of an already loud and overwhelming experience with children running around and bowling in the back. We had been wanting to check this place out for a while. Brunch on Sunday sounded like the perfect time opportunity. We ordered a side of cheese curds to share, the breakfast taco trio, the breakfast brisket hash, and beers. The cheese curds didn't come out with any dipping sauce so I asked for ranch. They were good. The tacos were fantastic! There was a smokiness in the meat that was insane. The breakfast hash was subpar. After eating about half of it, it was soggy and had a bunch of standing water. There wasn't much taste to it either. Service was really good. Their classic burger won #1 burger in my 12 pub tour of Burger week. The service level from the bartender, Jamie, with the coolest glasses I've seen in years was extraordinary. Nearby is a place with food service that's so slow and so long you could grow a beard waiting for your burger. Like I tell my best clients "if it last more than 4 hours call your doctor" not here, food came so fast I wondered if the cook was telepathic. I hope Jamie's boss is good to him. I went in with high hopes and tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. The food was very poor quality. The Cuban was not enjoyable and the smash burger was poor. I understand it's bar food at the end of the day but it was honestly just gross. The onion rings tasted like they were in dirty old fryer grease. The most enjoyable appetizer that they had to offer was the ritz cracker that came with the pimento cheese. The wedge salad was actually not bad but still very salty and also not a wedge either. Not sure I would recommend this place to anyone. Probably very appetizing after a round or 4 of their drinks but alas I ate while sober. read more

My Mr. passes by this place everyday and see that the parking lot is full all the time when he leaves his work. That's a good sign to check it. More the reason to check it out if they have duck pin, brew their own beer and a bbq joint? Even better. We didn't get to try the food because we had lunch elsewhere, however we will return for that, how ever, we did partake in the libations and a game of duck pin (2 games for only $12.00). For drinks my Mr. got a Beeldwit tiki Witbier & Mayor Mooken strawberry milkshake IPA. I just got two glasses of the Prosecco. The atmosphere is definitely family oriented and very spacious. The duck pin lanes are smooth and not run down. My Mr ran into a friend that works there and gave us a tiny tour of the brewery in the back. I was totally impressed with this facility. I drive by this spot almost everyday on my way to work now and had always been curious to go, so I told my lady about it, and when she heard they have duckpin bowling, it was on. A local craft brewery with that too? What's not to like? We stopped by late afternoon on a Saturday for a couple rounds of libations and bowling. The place used to be O'Neal's Tavern for the longest time, but Wandering Monsters made it even bigger by knocking down a wall, so they could fit their brewing area and bowling plus a big BBQ kitchen. There's lots of seating area and spots of reserve for parties. Not to mention a full-service bar with something for everyone, not just beer (but they do make great beer). The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Of course, we started with some libations; a prosecco for my lady, and a Beeldwit Tiki passionfruit witbier for me. Plus we got our bowling on. The Beeldwit was very tasty, just minorly tart from the passionfruit, and refreshing. Their bowling area is very cool with 80's-90's TV/movie artwork all around. When we finished our games, we went back for a second round; my lady with another prosecco, and I had the Mayor Mooken strawberry milkshake IPA. The brew was perfectly balanced in its sweetness, making it very easy-drinking for an IPA. Both my lady and I definitely dig it here and plan on trying the BBQ very soon. Plus we live pretty close by, so we'll be back for some more duckpin bowling and brews too. Glad to see more craft beer options in Anderson Township and I hope this spot makes it big. read more

We stopped by Wandering Monsters Brewery on Sunday afternoon, as one of Cincinnati's newest craft breweries wanted to try when they opened a few months ago. The brewery was filled with guests of all ages as we could see to the left of the entrance the duck pin bowling was busy with families and then the rest of the brewery filled with people enjoying beer and food. Now to the reason why we were there the beer. 14 different beers were on tap, so I went with a flight, I always like trying out a sampling of each brewery I visit and their flight has 4 beers and it was hard to select just 4 to sample. After talking with the staff on trying to help me pick just 4 beers, I went with Untitled Monsters, rich tart sour brewed with Untitled Art of Wisconsin; Phantoms NE DIPA; Bossie Wisconsin Aile and and Ludwig Festbier - light Oktoberfest lager. Overall Phantoms was my favorite and enjoyed a pint of this beer after the flight. I love Nelson Sauvin hops from NZ which gives beer a dank passionfruit flavor and very good. We saw a variety of tables enjoying their food and will try on next visit, great job Wandering Monsters team on new brewery in the Anderson/Eastgate area. The only item was with the duckpin bowling it was very loud, they need to have some additional sound panels to help deaden the sound, it was hard to have a conversation with hearing the bowling balls constantly hitting the hardwood in the brewery. read more

Outstanding addition to Anderson! We visited yesterday around 4:00 and it was hopping. The restaurant has plenty of seating with a big bar and a large private party room. The mini bowling alleys are not open yet - they look like a lot of fun. It's seat yourself so we grabbed a menu and sat at the the end of a table. They have a nice outdoor patio but it was too hot for us. No servers, order station located at the end of the bar. The line moved quickly and after ordering you get a number to put at your seat. Order beers while you're ordering food and you get them right away. The menu features smoked food with a lot of variety. I was amazed at how fast the food came out. The wings are smoked then flash fried and are a perfect combination of smoky and crispy. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious and the fries were exceptional. The wedge salad was huge with fresh ingredients. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the brisket, smoked turkey and pork wings. The beer menu has something for everyone. We were loving the Fogbringer II - a hazy, juicy IPA. It's great to have a place like this in Anderson, long overdue. I highly recommend checking it out. read more
