The same owner and cook from the beginning a few years ago!! My wife and I love this place. We've been here a few times and has not disappointed us. This particular time we were craving brisket and it melted in our mouths. We shared the Full 1 lb brisket meal. Added Cole slaw, side salad and 1/2 skillet cornbread!! Sinners & Saints is close to my house, but it's on a stretch of road that I rarely travel. When going to or from downtown I almost always use Columbia Parkway and rarely go along Riverside Drive. Sinners & Saints is one of only a few restaurants along this nearly 4-mile stretch. One evening I made a special trip down Riverside to visit. I really enjoyed this stop and will have to make a special trip again in the future. For starters, their smoked & stuffed jalapeños are delightful ($10)! Sausage, cream cheese, and cheddar are all inside, wrapped with bacon and smoked. They come served with house BBQ sauce on the side, but you may not even need it. The smoke flavor is really there on the bacon and mixes well with the creamy filling. For dinner, the naan street tacos are a solid choice. Pulled pork, peach BBQ, source cream, pickled onion, and green onion are packed inside of garlic naan and served taco style ($16). This is served with a very large side of mac and cheese. It is quite a filling meal! The tacos were great and the naan holds up really well to the juices and sauces, as compared to a soft corn shell. read more

My son enjoyed a burger. Service was friendly and efficient. I love trying local, non-chain spots and was guided here as I searched Google for "patio dining along the riverside." Then the tag team of service, care and love coming from the gorgeous Mara & Sarah Service Dynamic Duo! Mara & Sarah were so sharp hemophiliacs need to file a restraining order against them. We were blown away. Came here expecting to split and sandwich and beer and we well over $100 into food and drink because of their awesome suggestions. I'm from Memphis- we don't play about BBQ. This BBQ, y'all. First, the place is cute. The patio has a great view of Victorian houses and the river. They have a nice but somewhat small interior. It's cozy though. They might have an upstairs, not sure. When you pull up the sign says Home Court Tavern, not sure what that's about. The staff is friendly and service is fantastic. The food though- I don't even like brisket. So many people do it wrong. It is melt in your mouth level here though. I like this one. The pulled pork is incredible as well. I had it on a caesar salad and it worked. The fries though. I don't know what is happening but they're crispy and coated in a seasoning that is savory- almost leans towards a Thanksgiving profile? My second favorite in the city- first is Hi Mark because they just defy physics. Highly, highly recommend this place. Not terribly expensive either for what you get. read more

My Mr. and I was craving BBQ and wanted to try something nearby our place. Saw the reviews on Sinners & Saints and was impressed. We definitely wanted a good brisket and they serve it! The pictures on Yelp looked good! We dined in on a early Saturday. We sat at the bar area. They weren't busy yet. We saw someone with a meat sampler. We didn't even looked at the menu and instantly wanted that. You get brisket, pulled pork, sausage and three sauces. A la carte- so we got a side of fries and their Mac and cheese. With my meal I got a glass of Cabernet Franc and my Mr. got a Paulaner Hefeweizen. Our food came out right away and wow! The brisket was everything I dreamed of and the pulled pork was moist and had good flavor. I wasn't too fond of the sausage but my Mr tore it up. This is how good the bbq was... I didn't use much of the sauces because the meats were that good! We got another order of brisket. Couldn't get enough of it. The fries were coated and not greasy and the Mac & Cheese was delish. Minutes after we got our meal, the place got super slammed! The owner was definitely keeping up and his daughter was working very hard. We still received good service. My lady and I were feeling like some good barbecue, and we saw this spot right here on Yelp, so we decided to give it a shot. Was it worth it? Definitely! Excellent food, a laid back atmosphere, and great service. We stopped by on a Saturday evening, and it didn't seem busy at all. The place itself is very cosy with good amounts of indoor seating. They have lots of outdoor seating too, but it wasn't warm enough for that just yet since it's February. We both liked the decor of the place as well as the relaxed feel. They have a full bar with a good beer and wine selection, plus lots of bourbons to choose from. A father/daughter team were running the show and did a great job doing so. We started with a couple drinks; a Cabernet Franc for my lady, and a Paulaner hefeweizen for me. While we were sipping our drinks, we noticed a sampler platter being taken to another table, consisting of brisket, pulled pork, and smoked sausage. It looked so good that we decided to order one along with a side of mac & cheese and a side of fries. The brisket was definitely our overall favorite but the rest was really good too. The platter came with three sauces, but the meats were so good that you didn't really need them, though the Carolina gold was my favorite. The mac & cheese started out good, but as it cooled down a little, it became somewhat chewy. The fries were nice, crispy, and very well seasoned. About halfway through our meal, the place got PACKED due to a wedding party, but the father/daughter team still made sure to take care of everyone. The father even thanked us for our patience. I rolled into here mid-day on a Saturday looking to pick up an order I had called in, and was very pleasantly surprised. I had called for an order of brisket nachos to go, with everything packaged up to be heated up later. When I got home I found that they had really gone above and beyond with this - literally everything was set up to be stored or reheated, however I'd like. The servings were big for an "appetizer", plenty of chips for two and enough brisket to make a solid meal. Accompanying queso, cheddar, and chopped peppers and scallions, meant these were going to be a very well loaded up plate of nachos. I tried a bite of the brisket... and it was okay, a little bland. I was worried, I won't lie. Then later when I heated everything up that brisket sang. Man it was actually freaking delicious, it just needed some heat to open it up and get that smokey goodness, that come out right heavy. Yet that's not even the reason I felt compelled to get a review up. I really want to commend S&S for their great customer service. The problem is that there was a misunderstanding on my part, and the restaurant handled me with polite grace and genuinely friendly service. One person was working the bar and being the waitress. She did phenomenal! Her name was Molly. With everything g going on she was attentive and took care of of our party of 10 gracefully. Food was great and we loved the jalapeño poppers wrapped in brisket. Also the heavenly tots were tasty. Brisket tacos were a hit and so were the appetizer "Thors Thighs" that was eaten as an entree. Multiple people had the Burrow Burger and enjoyed it. The only knock was the Trivia Night going on. Only two tables were playing and the DJ/Question Reader had issues with the Microphone multiple times and the feedback was ear piercing. We didn't know it was trivia night and that is our fault. Discovered this hidden gem of a restaurant during the pandemic, mainly because they have a dog-friendly patio. Normally, I order a burger and a beer (both consistently fantastic), but this time I did a deep dive into their menu - which I should have done long ago. Sinners and Saints is located on Riverside Drive, a couple miles east of the Montgomery Inn Boathouse. Word to the wise, if you blink, you'll miss it. It looks like someone's house. But as soon as you go through the door, you'll find yourself in a sleek yet homey sports bar/restaurant surrounded by the aroma of smoked meats and plenty of Cincinnati charm. There are TVs and a great selection of bourbon and local beers on tap. Started off with the "Heavenly Tots" and they shockingly lived up to their name. Calling these things "tots" is almost an insult as these heavenly creatures are in a class of their own. Next time, I might just order several servings and burry my head into the plate. They come drizzled in the most delicious cheese sauce with thin slices of fresh jalapeño for the perfect bite. Next up were the Stuffed Smoked Jalapeños. Talk about elevated bar food - this is IT! These little devils are next level delicious as they are stuffed with sausage and wrapped in bacon. I really enjoyed these b/c the spiciness level wasn't over-the-top and it paired perfectly with my IPA. The stars of the show were definitely the brisket and pulled pork (you can get them on a sandwich or a plate). They cook a killer brisket stew and - PRO TIP- if you order this, be sure to also order the house made cornbread on the side and thank me later. Sinners and Saints is, in my opinion, probably the best kept BBQ secret in Cincinnati. And they're raising the bar for all the spots along what I consider to be the best stretch of BBQ in America from Montgomery Inn to Eli's to Pig Candy. Just before I paid the check, the owner, Chris, stopped by for a quick chat. As I was raving about the brisket, Chris informed me that everything is made fresh and in-house. I also learned their chef is a former alum of Jeff Ruby's (don't snooze on the Butter Pie for dessert) and the Lytle Park Hotel, so no surprise the meal was amazing. The brisket a friend had on their breakfast sandwich was tasty (he let me have a taste). Avocado toast looked good. And my fellow diner enjoyed it. TJ took good care of us as well as manning the bar. Typical Eastern Ave parking. The website highly recommends making a reservation. I mean.....We did. There was only one other table full when we go there. Our server was very nice, very efficient. But then, she only had us and one other table. Food came out fast but again........(see above) Wasn't overly impressed with the poppers. We also ordered the loaded fries with brisket.......DRY. DRY. Hubby & I both agreed on a 2 star review but the mac n' cheese kicked it up a star. The mac n' cheese is unique; they should run with it. Make a main dish of brisket (with sauce!!) on mac n' cheese. Home. Run. Will we be back? No. Very unlikely. Nothing to draw us in. This place probably serves well as a local spot. We visited this place just a few weeks after their opening and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It's a pretty laid back casual place. Lots of TVs above the bar, so a great place to catch a game. The food was really good but they explained that they are still building g their menu out. I went with the burnt ends and tater tots while my boyfriend had the burger. Everything was amazing. They will soon have a "sinner" menu and a "saint" menu with healthier options. What a gem of a place! Super cozy main room with big bar. Many tvs for watching games. 2nd floor also has tvs. Very clean, very well decorated. Hubby and I stopped here for a causal, mid-week early evening date. It was not busy, and the service was great. Servers were helpful, friendly, and attentive. The food was definitely a step or two above typical bar food fare. It was obvious that attention went into the food's flavors and preparation. Not the usual freezer-to-fryer fare. We ordered the smoked chicken thighs appetizer. We enjoyed the smoky flavor infused into the meat and the crisp exterior, although they were just a tad bit dry. We also split the smoked Turkey sandwich and carrot salad. The sandwich was tasty, with a good balance of flavors and textures on good quality bread. The salad looked great and we had high hopes, but we were both just a tad disappointed in the carrot salad. We loved the creative and unique element of the roasted carrots, but the dressing was sweet and the lettuce, carrots, canned chickpeas were all pretty much the same sweet flavor and soft texture. Personally, I felt this salad could have been easily taken to another level by adding a crunchy texture, a salty bite, a sweet or salty element. Maybe roasted crunchy chickpeas, salty feta, a crunchier type of nuts like walnuts instead of the slivered almonds? We liked this salad, just didn't love it as it was. Don't let the name fool ya! This place is legit! My lady and I visited Sinners & Saints tonight for the first time and we were impressed! The atmosphere was casual and the restaurant was clean and well decorated. Music was low and our waitress waited on us well! We ordered the brisket and pulled pork entree, the Naan Street pulled pork tacos, macaroni and cheese and corn bread...EVERYTHING was delicious!!! Their smoked meats are tasty and cooked just right! To top it off, we had Pam's blackberry pie and ricotta donuts which were unbelievably scrumptious! Chris, the owner, dropped by our table for a chat and he's operating a fine establishment! Enjoyed a great preconcert meal here last night. We got there early at 5:15 so we had our choice of seating. We picked a small table fit two by the window. Our server was lovely and pleasant. She was efficient. We had chips and queso with salsa to start. The portion was adequate. The queso was delicious; thick and a hint of spice and clung perfectly to the chip! For dinner I preferred the brisket hoagie with Cole slaw. It was more of a sandwich than a hoagie because it came on buttered toasted bread but was delish!! The Cole slaw was good too! My friend had a spinach salad and it looked amazing! A big bed of fresh spinach leaves with sliced egg, sliced onion and hot bacon dressing on the side. Yum!! An overall good experience. We came on a Sunday. Things were fairly chill and relaxed. The bartender told us that that is fairly common, and that Friday and Saturday are their busy days. Friday and Saturdays usually have live music. Seating is inside or outside on the patio. Menu is Texas style bbq. We ordered the smoked brisket, a brisket hoagie, and Heavenly tots. Brisket plater came with two types of bbq sauce (mustard and sweet & tangy) onions, pickles and white bread. My husband upgraded to the 1/2 a cornbread. He was happy with his choice. Everything was seasoned well. He said that the cornbread was well worth it. Brisket hoagie has one large slice of brisket topped with provolone and caramelized onions. It comes with a pickle spear, sweet & tangy bbq sauce and a side. I chose the cole slaw for the side. I am a sucker for brisket with cole slaw. I love the combination of smokey, meaty, and sweet brisket with cool, crunchy and creamy slaw. Slaw is fairly standard. It got the job done. My brisket had a wide strip of fat running down the center making it at least 1/3 to 1/2 fat. While that is normal for brisket, it is kind of strage to get mouthfuls of fat and cheese on a sandwich. Heavenly tater tots are like a cross between a tot and a fried hashbrown. The potatoes are shredded, flavored, then formed into oversized, no make that Texas sized tots. Tots are well seasoned. Not what I was expecting, but an interesting surprise. Make sure to ask about the drink specials. During our visit there was a watermelon mojitol and raspberry bourbon ice tea. We ordered one of each. I was more fond of the raspberry bourbon ice tea. All the flavors could be tasted, yet blended well. It was the perfect summertime drink. My husband was more fond of the mojito. There is also a full bar, as well as beer on tap, and in cans. Service was good. It was slow, so we had a server practically to ourselves.
