Great service! Good food. I haven't been here in several years. I liked it when I had it and had tried to stop in a few times after the pandemic, only to find it closed when it was supposed to be opened. After it happened several times I just forgot about the place. We were happy to find it open when we stopped by this past weekend. I stopped in for dinner on Sunday night with my daughter and her boyfriend. We ordered drinks - a beer for the boyfriend, coke with grenadine (their work around for a cherry coke) and an Old Fashioned for me. It was one of the worst old fashioneds I have ever had. Ever. I'd respect a bartender more if they just said that they did not know how to make the classic and well known cocktail and that they were too lazy to look it up rather than the mess that I was served. The bartender had muddled cheap maraschino cheeries into to the glass, lots of them. Then either poured the juice in or used grenadine in place of the simple syrup. Drinking proved very difficult as the mushed cherry pieces kept coming up. And forget a straw! I tried the stirrers and my water straw and they were promptly clogged by the muddled cherries. The appetizer of Gator Bites was delicious! We finished those off without trouble. The entrees were: Southern Fried Chicken sandwich with Fries. Swamp Pasta with White Mac side. And the Oyster Platter with Side Salad and Red Bean & Rice. The chicken was very over cooked in the chicken sandwich. My daughter said that it tasted great but that it was so over cooked that it was stringy. Her boyfriend really liked the swamp pasta. My fried oysters were perfectly done. I enjoyed them. The side salad was fine. The red beans & rice was like soup and I didn't eat them. Overall, it was pretty good and we will return.

My boyfriend and I have been frequenting Swampwater grill a LOT recently. It's always been very good. Some visits better than others. I always get the grilled chicken entree that comes with shrimp and swamp sauce on top. I've tried a few of the sides. My favorite has been the Mac and cheese and the house salad with ranch. The chicken is usually VERY good. The last time I went it was a little too thin and got pretty dried out. Other than that we always love it at Swampwater Grill. Fun place to mix up the routine places you go.

Best creole and smoked food we have had in the area. We sat at the bar because there was a 45 minute wait. We had the jambalaya, jalapeño poppers, shrimp po'boy, and swamp pasta. I loved the pasta and jambalaya. My husband loved it all. The jambalaya had a nice Smokey flavor. The pasta was amazing and creamy. I brought home a ton of leftovers. Share, unless you want leftovers!

Might be a bit of a wait but it's worth it. Had gator bites, swamp pasta and bahama mama. The drinks are not watered down. Food is delicious. Service is great. The decor is very cool and I highly recommend you try this place!

My family and I have been here a few times. On the weekends it can get pretty full and you might have to wait a while for a table. Also keep in mind that they don't have open hours on a couple of the weekdays. The food is usually awesome! Everything I've ever had is always been so good. I did have a seafood pasta recently and it wasn't the best. Could just be considered maybe one dimensional. I've had it before so maybe this was just an off night for their cook. The ambience of the place is very Cajun and country and overall just good for the most part. Definitely a winner for good Cajun food! Recommend this place all the time for everything so far.

I must say the food that we had was delicious. We had the catfish po boy with jambalaya and the swamp water pasta with collard greens. It was our first time at this yesterday. The waitress was very nice and helpful with telling us about stuff on menu. The place was like being in a Nee Orleans restaurant back on bayou. I will for sure go back.

My favorite restaurant. I especially love bringing out of town guests here - and enjoy celebrating my bday and Mother's Day here. There are sooooooooany yummy foods. We love the blackened tomahawk chop with blue cheese, the red beans and rice, the swamp pasta, shrimp skewers, jambalaya, cheesy grits, bacon wrapped Jalapeño poppers, ribs and the desserts!

Brandie was an amazing waitress. She helped me decide between the Tomahawk Pork Chop and Pork Butt Sandwich, we decided on the pork chop and I just saw it was a really good decision! The pork chop and the shrimp were both very well seasoned.

I think the ambiance here is great. Our server was very nice and on top of things. We started with the grilled oysters, which were very, very good. I highly recommend them. For mains, the menu is large and everything sounds fantastic. I opted for the Voodoo Catfish. I added a skewer of shrimp and had the cheesy corn grits and green beans. The catfish was good, but the crawfish étouffée overpowered it a bit. Taking a bite of grits with the smothered catfish tempered the flavor a bit. Overall, the flavor was good. I think I'd order something else the next time. Mark had a BBQ pork sandwich with crispy jalapeños. He said it was good, but it was lacking any bbq sauce. He didn't mention it, so we don't know if it was an oversight or if the pork was somehow braised in a bbq sauce. We had the bread pudding for dessert. First, it's a HUGE portion. There is plenty to share. It was delicious, but because the piece is so large, it would have benefit from a more generous serving of the rum sauce. We were here many years ago. We'd come back for sure.

Every visit feels like a treat, but lately they've taken things up a notch with a lineup of signature cocktails. I tried the espresso martini, and it was outstanding--smooth, balanced, and the perfect complement to the bold, smoky flavors coming out of the kitchen. As for the food, it's consistently excellent. The dry rub wings are my go-to: perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat and flavor, and even better when paired with their bama white sauce. If you're leaning sandwich, you can't go wrong with a pulled pork or pulled chicken sammy topped with their Carolina gold sauce--it's tangy, slightly sweet, and completely addictive. And the fries? Thick-cut, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside--exactly what great fries should be. Beyond the food and drinks, Lucius Q really shines as a place to gather. They have a fantastic event space that comfortably holds around 50 people--perfect for parties or private events. It's also one of the rare downtown spots with plenty of TVs, making it a great place to catch a game. Add in live music most Fridays and a great outdoor patio for those perfect Cincinnati weather days, and it's easy to see why this place is always buzzing. Lucius Q is one of those spots I simply can't walk past without slowing down and breathing it in. Whether you're a Pendleton regular or just passing through downtown Cincinnati, it's a must-visit that delivers every single time.

I've eaten my way through every smokehouse in Cincinnati, so when I say Midwest Best BBQ is the real deal, believe me. My arteries are practically Yelp-certified. The team of servers and cooks seems like they recruited an entire football team of young men from the University of Cincinnati; service so fast you'd think they were running a two-minute drill, attentive enough to make your mom jealous, and coordinated like they're protecting the quarterback only this time, the quarterback is your pulled-pork sandwich. Their wings, rubs, and sauces? Every single flavor profile was so good I nearly proposed to the coleslaw. And don't get me started on the G-Funk wings. They're delightful, though naming wings after a rap genre means you half expect Dr. Dre to hand you wet wipes. And let's talk about the smoking schedule. They've got a night smoker and a day smoker, which sounds less like a BBQ setup and more like a buddy-cop movie: "Day Smoker plays by the rules, Night Smoker breaks 'em, but together they deliver justice... in the form of brisket." Mark, one of the owners, literally smokes meat during a half-day shift with the love and passion of a Michelin-star chef who moonlights as Cupid. This guy makes ribs like he's serenading them. If Hallmark made a "Brisket Romance" channel, Mark would star in every single movie. I bought several pounds of meat to take home. Not "a pound." Several. Because nothing says "self-control" like hiding a bag of smoked chicken behind your kale in the fridge. Exclamation point. Period. Now, location... ...here's the kicker. They're hidden off the road over a hundred yards. That's right, it's the Area 51 of BBQ. You basically need Google Maps, a Sherpa, and divine intervention to find them. Yet, somehow, when you do, it feels like stumbling upon the Ark of the Covenant... ...only tastier, and fewer Nazis melting. Inside? Casual. TVs locked on Bengals or Reds games, so you can watch disappointment while you eat happiness. Patio? Shaded. Perfect for when you want to sweat from the hot sauce, not the sun. The sides? Top echelon. Beans, slaw, cornbread, each one a little sidekick to the main meat superhero. And for the low-carb crowd, this place is a protein paradise. Keto bros rejoice: you can bench-press your brisket guilt-free. Bottom line: Midwest Best BBQ doesn't just feed you, it baptizes you in smoke, sauce, and joy. And if you're not leaving with meat sweats, did you even go?

This place I was so impressed with. These businesses are the businesses that deserve to hold a special place in the world... firstly our food was delicious, it came out hot, presented well and was just perfect. Second our service was spectacular, we had Ron as our server he was a true gentleman friendly, attentive, and very experienced from what we could tell. The main host was very accommodating, at first we were sat in a spot we did not like we told him and he moved us to a perfect spot with no hesitation. Third the price was very fair and well worth what we paid. We have been to almost all of the "fine dining spots in Cincinnati, such as Capital Grille, Primavista, Precinct etc and this place by FAR provides the best dining experience in Cincinnati. If you are looking for an amazing meal, amazing service and you are in Cincinnati you better give this place a try. $100 Food Poisoning…read more My husband was really wanting ribs and we had always heard good things about this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but were seated pretty quickly on the heated patio upstairs. When we sat down, they instantly gave us our water and then we didn't see our waitress for about fifteen minutes. The waitress finally came and we went ahead and ordered our appetizers, drinks, and ribs all at same time because we didn't know when she'd be back (even told them no need to delay the entree to try to hurry things along). We waited quite a bit for our appetizers- about an hour. The couple next to us even left before they got their entrees and were very upset and spoke to the manager. We got the appetizers first- onion straws and the meatballs/grits. Meatballs were.... not good. Very very herby with an uncomplimentary sauce, grits were bland, but at least the onion straws were good. Ribs can out about 20 minutes later. We shared them and got mac as a side. Mac tasted very generic. We were very excited about the ribs but they were a let down. Sauce was very sweet and for price we paid I expected a bigger slab (we got the full slab). Went ahead and got our check while we were still eating so we could hurry home. Now, the real surprise came that evening. Husband got very very bad food poisoning- like the up all night kind. I'm not sure if it was his side of the ribs or the grits but it was BAD. Can't believe we paid over $100 for someone in the kitchen to not follow basic food safety protocol!! We will not be back! Money is better spent elsewhere!
