Solid food. I would not travel out of my way to go here but it's a great asset to Fretboard. I've been a few times but this was my first experience since the virus started. It's remained consistent. You order at counter separately from the bar and they buzz you when the food is ready. Wait times are pretty low. Everything I've had is good, but not exceptional, barbeque. The prices are decent. Today we tried three types of wings: Jamaican dry rub, spicy garlic, and hot buffalo. We did not care for the dry rub much but the other two were very good. Much bigger wings than the chains. We also had BBQ pork fries. Once again no complaints. A good portion size. The 15 wings and fries were tons of food for two. Overall Fretboard is very family friendly for a weeknight. read more

YUM! I wouldve never expected an unassuming brewery walk up food joint to be so damn good! I visited Fretboard on a Friday night without having eaten much that day. I was starving! The menu had many choices and that particular night the special was a brisket chili. I asked the lady at the counter if I could order their loaded fries with the brisket chili as the meat and she was happy to oblige. I also opted to try some of the cajun dry rub smoked wings. I cashed out and was given a buzzer for when the food was ready. Everything was sensational. The brisket chili was flavorful and had generous portions of the tender brisket. The fries themselves had a great crispy outer coating that helped them withstand the delicious chili and queso toppings. The portion size was huge, especially for the price! My wings were probably the best ive had in Cincy. They were large and full of tender meat. They were not too greasy, and the dry rub was perfect. The smoked flavor was the best part. I also tried some of my friends buffalo wing loaded fries, and her spicy garlic wings. The fries were so good, I will for sure order that version next time. This food window inside Fretboard Brewery is a mixed bag. The pulled pork is fine, but I would say they are better options in town. The Mac and cheese is below average, and the fries are fries-- lightly breaded which just isn't my particular taste. The wings, which they say are smoked then finished in the fryer, are one of the better options, but at $5 for 4 wings, they are among the most expensive in town. All-in, as the food option for the Fretboard brewery, it's perfectly serviceable. Mix this with some beers and great live music and you have a recipe for a fun night! read more

I didn't have any expectations coming into Smoked out Cincy, and boy did it give me an experience to never forget. Ordered two appetizers and two sandwiches (the Smoked Buffalo Chicken and the flying pig) and every single bit of it was delicious. Not only was it fantastic it also took less than 15 minutes to be done and ready. I would highly recommend this to everyone, there is even vegetarian options! While on our road trip to Cincinnati, we stopped in blue ash at a brewery called fretboard brewing company, inside their brewery is a little Bbq placed called smoked out cincy, from the mixed yelp reviews I was hopeful but not overly enthusiastic. But let me tell you this place is on point!! We checked out the menu and then talked to a guy working there to help us make our choices. We chose the flying pig which is pulled pork topped with homemade slaw bbq sauce bacon bits and horseradish aïoli, also got some spicy garlic wings that are smoked then flash fried, right amount of heat with a punch of garlic. Next we got a large seasoned fries dusted with a house blend very tasty with a bit of tanginess and finally we asked for a suggestion if something else to try and they said Mac and cheese bacon egg rolls, served with a buffalo sauce on the side. This wonderful BBQ teamed well with the great beers served up at fretboard brewing company. The space with dark with low lights and had music playing and even has a stage for live music. All I can say is I'm sitting here at fretboard brewing Company shoveling buffalo chicken cheese fries down my throat! I'm not the biggest fan of barbecue and smoked meats but boy did this dish say yes the heck you do! Ok. We came on a Monday, I have heard CRAZY good things about the wings here. I am a huge fan of smoked wings so I was excited to try the food! We did get wings, I would say they were not my favorite but still SUPER good and smokey. We also got the pulled pork fries and a flying pig sandwich. HOLY. servings are HUGE. I knew the fries were almost $10 but you get your moneys worth for sure. The portions are enough for 2-3 people to share the fries, they were huge and I LOoOoOoved it. The flying pig sandwich was one of those things where you are like "weird but good" it was unique flavors but it all went together like your favorite song. I know we will definitely be back! Smoked Out Cincy is a walk up counter, located inside of Fretboard Brewing Company. From the enterence, walk back towards the stage, and the counter will be on your right. Orders are placed at the window, and food is brought out to you. Smoked Out Cincy offers various barbeque items, and sides. While the menu is limited, it is growing. We tried the brisket Philly sandwich, smoked buffalo chicken sandwich, the kid's Mac and cheese, and the kid's chicken tenders. All dishes came with a side. We all chose fries. Man where those fries good. Not only were they loaded with flavor, but they were crisp on the outside, while soft on the inside. Nacho made with their fries and brisket would be killer. Speaking of the brisket, it was tender. A little too salty for me. My husband didn't find the brisket too salty. The celery in the smoked buffalo chicken was a refreshing touch. The insides of the sandwiches were made with quality ingredients. I wish the buns were as nice. The kid's Mac and cheese is the same as it is for the side dishes. It was made with real cheese. The three chicken tenders were a good size. My daughter gave them thumbs up. Their barbeque goes well with the Fretboard beer. Hours differ from those of Fretboard. What a great food option they provide for Fretboard Brewing. I was really impressed with the menu options. I wasn't very hungry so I just ordered 4 smoked wings and some fries. Teh wings are smoked and then flash fried. They had good smoke flavor and the sauce I chose was fantastic. Spicy garlic has lots of flavor and the right amount of heat. I would have liked my wings to be a bit crispier but I am betting based on my interaction with the owner he would be more than happy to accomodate a "extra crispy" request. The fries were seasoned fries and very good. I was really interested in an appetizer they offered. Spicy bacon fries but I was told that was really meant to be a sharable and I wouldn't likely be able to eat it myself. It sounded very good. They also offer fries with pulled pork or buffalo chicken. I would like to suggest they also offer brisket fries. I will definitely be tackling more items on that menu on future visits to Fretboard. read more

We did NOT know what we were walking in to, but the food was delicious! It's not in a location that seems to be near other restaurants. It's like a converted warehouse which gives it major cool points, but it did seem reallllllly confusing. We happened to come on an evening where some kind of small festival was going on and we almost left cuz we just wanted food, but I'm glad we stayed. After about 5 minutes of watching people so we could get the lay of the land, we figured out where the food counter was and found an empty sticky table to wait for our buzzer to go off for pick up and sat and watched drunken people around us. It was VERY loud with music, so pretty difficult to talk. There were families with kids, so it's pretty family friendly. Maybe it was super crowded and sloppy because of the festival, so I'll give extra points for that. If not for the delicious food, I probably wouldn't have been impressed at all. We each had different sandwiches and they were all deliciously smoked. The bun was appropriately toasted. The BBQ on the side was perfect. We also had the pretzel bite app with queso (Yum!) and the fried Mac and cheese bites with buffalo. The buffalo was ridiculously good. If you like smoked meat, this place is a must. If you're looking for organized? Maybe go someplace else. We had no idea where our used tray was supposed to go or how to order non-alcoholic drinks for our meal without standing in the huge bar line. Ordered wings and a brisket sandwich with coleslaw. Several wings were bloody around the bone and generally uncooked and they are suppose to be smoked? ...raw. Showed it to the staff and their only answer was that's weird and dismissed me. No replacement or refund or even an apology. They were already paid and made it clear they did not care. The brisket was 50/50 fat and meat and coleslaw had no dressing, just cabbage and carrots. Eat somewhere else the get the beer at the partnered brewery. Really bad. read more

We ordered the mac and cheese rolls, pulled chicken fries and smoked wings. The wings were fine so I don't have much to say about them, but the fries and rolls were awful. The fries had some sort of queso on them that was really thick and almost chunky. The flavor of the chicken was so smoky and really dry. I will say the portion size of the fries is HUGE. Today was my first visit to Smoked Out Cincy for lunch. In short...great atmosphere, excellent service and fantastic food. The pulled pork sandwich and colossal fries were outstanding. Really loved the sauce for the sandwich and for the dipping the fries as well. Pair the great food with a beer from Fretboard and you have yourself a solid lunch. I'm looking forward to trying the cheese fries and brisket sandwich next time. Smoked Out Cincy and Fretboard are a great combo and add to the Blue Ash area. This is the 2nd time eating at Smoked Out Cincy 1st time was right after opening so thought I would give it another shot, Name does not fit food, If you're expecting true barbecue this is not the place.  I had brisket sandwich which had no smoke flavor, pale in color and no bark.   Wife had pulled  pork sandwich  which had the same issues as brisket sandwich plus pulled  pork was very mushy. They do have really good fries. read more

In town on a buisness trip stopped in for a early dinner. As soon as you walk in the smell of beer being made and something scolding smashes you in the face wasn't expecting that. I sat down watched the bar tenders play on there phones while I looked at the menu waited 10 minutes and finally couldnt take the smell anymore or the fact nobody acknowledged me. I have eaten here only once. I had the pulled pork sandwich and a side of slaw. Both were generous portions and really tasty. This is a counter inside Fretboard Brewery - I would come back to try more items but I'm not that impressed by Fretboard beers. Loaded fries are a must. Brisket sandwich is also good, nicely served on a garlic baguette. Pork was very smoked over powering the bbq. Wings were 3/5 not very saucey or big. Also in the same place as Fretboard so you have a nice selection of beer but no other alcohol options. read more
