I stopped in for a quick bite while out of town. When I arrived I parked in the strip lot. I walked into a hometown bar. Angie was my server and was so nice. I ordered the 1/2 lb Cheeseburger and grilled onions with some red wine. The wine was Pinot Nior and I liked and the burger was juicy. All in all a good experience! read more

Hidden gem. It's a great local place that's hidden but locals know where to find it. Draft beer prices are solid and if anything, less than expected for domestic drafts. Not complaining and definitely an added bonus to come back. Lots of pictures showed the mozz sticks (and says homemade) but honestly, tasted like frozen sticks and the marinara tasted burnt. Again, I think of Arthur's in Hyde park when I think of homemade mozz sticks and these weren't those. But.... Let's get to main items. The $3/rib were legit. Little Smokey with the charred grill taste. Little salty, little peppery. Perfect. Bonus, their bbq sauce on the side is awesome. Definitely would come back just for the ribs and draft beer. Next, the wings. They are HUGE. Like one single is equal to 3-4 BW wings. Again...a little Smokey but solid charcoal grill taste. U can smell the charcoal grill from the wings. Bonus is the sauces. Everything comes in a 6pack of squeeze bottles. So choose your own adventure! Oh. They have a REAL dart board, pool table, golden tee and TVs covering every inch of wall save place outside area to sit. #hiddengem. Cannot wait to go back!!! read more

The best wings in the city. They are grilled, smoked, and the jerk sauce is amazing! my Mouth is watering just thinking about them. read more

We came in for the Ohio State game. It was really busy! The food was great!!!! It's the best burger my 12 year old daughter ever had! Great local spot. 3 dollar rib bones! Great smoked wings!!! We had a great time! Every one was friendly and will definitely come back!!!!the vibe is like a true tavern! read more

Discovered this place today after living on the area for 23 years lol. Absolutely astonished at how good everything was! I had the Boom Boom burger and fries with one smoked rib to try. Burger was huge, fresh made and totally terrific, fries are crispy and fluffy with no batter nor seasoning on them. Onion rings are battered and crispy, truly flavorful. Now the ribs: smoked, meaty and made In House, sauces made in house! Try working the sweet bbq and Jamaican together, was delicious! Prices are reasonable, great staff that cares and took an interest. You MUST try this place good lunch or dinner, a true diamond in the rough and not well enough known. You will love this joint! read more

Montgomery Towne Tavern - Bar area - Burgers Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Locals bar with good food. The have an outdoor patio and some electronic gaming. After the shift change from a warm friendly barkeep the replacement didn't have the same warm personality. It was time to move on as a visitor. read more

We stopped in here last minute after Silver Spring house was swamped. We had no idea what to expect. We walked in (6 of us) and the place was pretty busy. The waitress came up and greeted us quickly and hot our drink orders. She was very helpful on guiding our food selections. As a group we ordered burgers, chicken sandwich, wings, pretzels and cheese sticks. Everything was so good. Even better we were able to play pool and darts while waiting for our food. Great little place for a cold beer and really solid food in a chill atmosphere. This is our new go to when in the area. read more

Interesting stop through as we were traveling along 275 loop. It was a Friday at 4 and we were there till 6:30. Took a bit to get drinks at bar and as the locals came in it got even harder to get service. We ordered a BLT that got lost in translation (or system) not sure, but an hour later we got it along with some drama behind bar. We will not come back as it's really a local spot. For new comers I recommend trying somewhere more relaxing. read more

Who knew that this place would have homemade food. It's bar food and far from healthy, but quite tasty. Drink prices are reasonable and service is friendly. This is not your five star atmosphere- it's a simple locals bar with surprisingly good bar bites. read more

Love this place! Everyone knows everyone but do welcome in newbies! We went because I am always game for a new restaurant to try. Because we should want to keep local restaurants open. They play bingo on Fridays. Go on a Friday with your significant other and play bingo, eat delicious food and make new friends. The food is delicious! Go and come back to tell me how much fun you had. read more

Food was ok.... A little too salty, the wings were.... But the lady serving had a terrible attitude and lost my business....

The food was absolutely amazing. My parents came in for a visit over the weekend and my family are sort of wing connoisseurs. We went down to knock back nats Saturday to check out what they were all about, but after I saw the Mozz sticks photo on this place, we came Sunday for lunch. We got burgers, wings, and mozzarella sticks and I can't wait to go back. The wings were better than any other place I've had in Cincinnati. I'm typically more a deep fried wing type of gal, but enjoy smoked too. These had that tenderness of a deep fried wing as well as a nice crispy outside but the smokiness and slight char of a smoked wing. Incredible! Burgers were fantastic as well. Don't forget the mozz sticks!! Made in house and delicious. read more

Don't let this place fool you on the outside. The food within is truly inspired. The wings are out of this world, like Oak Tavern with better execution. Today I tried the Mozzerella Sticks on a whim because the picture looked crazy good. They did not disappoint. The place would blow up with a bit more marketing about the kitchen they are flexing, would be a solid business decision. Takes the dive bar environment and turns it on its head. 10/10 would eat again. Later nerdz read more

We stopped in here because of the great reviews. They lived up to the hype. My son got a cheeseburger and I got the wings. The cheeseburger was pretty large and tasted great. The wings ... amazing ! They were cooked well enough and not slimy, they were pretty big, and come with a tray of different sauces to try. We shared an order of tater tots with jalapeño dip. The order was enough to share between the two of us. Highly recommend if you're in the area! read more

My sister-in-law, and I went to a Montgomery Towne, Tavern today. We had the breaded mozzarella sticks for a appetizer. I had a cheeseburger and fries for my meal and my sister-in-law had the wings for her meal. Service was good..The ambiance was also good. I have to say my cheeseburger was the best that I've had a long time.. read more

The food here is amazing! I always have to get the smoked wings, by far the best in Cincinnati that I have had and they don't even need any sauce on them! read more

Service sucks. Not friendly. Food is awful. Very bad staff. Can't believe they are actually still in business

Amazing little DIVE Bar .....in a good way. Nice people, pool table , jukebox music and very cool and friendly bartender s. Oh....yes small dance floor. Only thing is the DJ sucks. They never play music for a mature crowd..ages 40 to 60. To be honest the DJ does not get it this is a mature client type bar ...!!!! read more

Service and food always exceeded my expectations. This time was no different. I usually have the signature ribs.

I only give it two stars because the bartenders are extremely nice and helpful. Do not go to this place during the week. There is a group of regulars who go after work and they are extremely inappropriate if you are a female. I was harassed and grabbed by several of these people. I refuse to go back which is disappointing because the staff is so incredibly nice. If you do go to this place, make sure you have a group of both males and females or avoid going during the week. read more

This place is awesome!!! We stopped randomly on our way to concert at Riverbend and it was great. Dive bar feel as you walk in, but everyone said get the wings and tots so we did. The wings were amazing and tots like nothing ever. Wings smoked 8 hours and no sauce needed but they have a big selection. Come here!! Support local. Get fat in yummy food. All handmade! read more

The smoked wings are the best around. Get there before 8pm or the kitchen will close, but stay after for the pool table, darts, TV's and bucket of beers. read more

What an awesome experience. I was a little concerned that the food would be good because it was a dark room/bar...what a SHOCK!!! Food was creative, amazing, homemade.....one great food celebration, and the staff were very friendly and fun!! Highly Recommend read more

Local dive bar. Granted, some may not like that as a descriptor, but in this case it's a pretty accurate description. The cast of regular characters is interesting. The bar is pretty well stocked. The draught selections are pretty minimalist and basic. So if you're looking for trendy stuff like Blue Moon or Stella Artois, then you may be disappointed. However, even the premium liquor brands are inexpensive. But everyone is indeed very friendly and it's a great local watering hole for those early happy hour kinds of Friday afternoons. The one negative strike is the digital jukebox. The volume is so low that it's not worth the money. But the free billiards on Wed. after 8pm more than makes up for it. read more

First time coming to Montgomery Tavern. Amanda and Cindy are amazing at there jobs. They need a raise immediately. Welcomed us in and treated us like family. Not to mention their service is second to none. Our new go to spot after work!!!!! read more

Found this place randomly on our way to a concert. Entire staff and patrons were very friendly and gave us food recommendations which were unbelievable. Get here, get the wings and tator tots, and check it out bottom line. read more

This is a great dive bar. But something has to be said about the DJ on Friday. Absolutely terrible! Can't read the crowd at all. Music way too LOUD!! His transitions are horrible and then gets on the mic to sing along. On numerous occasions he gets so drunk that he repeats songs. If I didn't appreciate the bar staff I would skip Friday. read more

Fun fun fun!!! Keep the drinks and shots coming until I start asking for pizza lol once pizza is gone fill me up with more beer please haha

Definitely a hole in the wall, but I've subbed for their trivia host a few times and never hesitate to pick up the job when it comes up. The bartenders have always been friendly, the drink prices are great, and the trivia regulars are a blast to interact with. read more

The place is nice and big , wanted to eat but the kitchen was close because one of the bartenders hasn't arrived to work

Quaint, fun, comfortable, lots of sports TV's. Great place to relax after a long day of work!

Usually slow and populated by the older locals. But, they have great drink specials, and a nice porch for outdoor drinking. Decent place to swing in a grab a few chill drinks. read more

very good local bar (bit of a dive but i get tired of reviewers categorizing every local bar as a dive). raucous crowd, but everyone is friendly and mostly under control. great bartenders and many weekdays have $1 pints. darker interior. many of the tvs could use an upgrade, but the there are two large hdtvs and multiple smaller ones over the bar that suffice. 'L' shaped bar right when you walk through the door with about 10 barstools. best part about the actual bar was a padded rail, don't see these very much and it's very comfortable. high tables scattered throughout the rest of the bar and an outdoor patio as well. smokers always on the moving in & out. read more
