We knew that this is pretty much local joint but haven't been there for a while. We came in, set at the bar for about 15 minutes And 3 bar tenders working and ni the bar was not packed. As the bar tenders entertained the locals we sat and we sat and we sat until I said , excuse me can we get waited on? Ohhh , sure what do you need. If you're not a local regular don't bother read more

Ordered cheesesteak and side of mushrooms ,husband got cheeseburger mustard onion only , there was no mustard, he got fries which were not done no salt, my cheesesteak was one big piece of meat which half of it was burnt, we were in town took it to go didn't realize how bad it was gonna be but we live to far to take it back, waste of 30 dollars. read more

Ordered 3 meals to go, 2 French Dips, menu stated on toasted hoagie, was not toasted at all, French fries raw and uncooked, the French dip ... Was French onion soup so many onions you couldn't dip into any ajus. For the first time ordering from here, it was so disappointing, won't go back. Maybe a bad day but I say find another spot unless your dining inside where you can send it back if not right. read more

My wife and I dropped into McCauly's Pub on a Thursday evening. First impressions? The place could use an update. It's got that unmistakable '70s pub vibe--wood paneling, dim lighting, the works. But it was clean, and something about it felt comfortable, like a spot that's been around long enough to know what it does well. Service was... efficient. Our server was abrupt but not rude--just straight to the point, no wasted words. To be completely fair, they could have used a couple more, but this gal knew her way around the room, and seemed to enjoy the challenge of handling a dinner rush on her own. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and split the antipasto, pairing it with a beer and a glass of wine. The beer? Just about perfect. The wine? Not so much--tasted like it had been sitting open a bit too long, so we'll knock a few points there. Now, the pizza. Fantastic. The kind of pizza you picture when someone says "village pizza." Crisp crust, great cheese-to-sauce ratio, and exactly the right amount of grease to know you're in for something good. If nothing else, that pizza alone makes McCauly's worth the trip. The antipasto was solid. Nothing mind-blowing, but they didn't skimp on the meats and cheeses, which is a win in my book. Drinks were refilled promptly, and service stayed on top of things. Bottom line: If you're looking for modern charm, this isn't your place. But if you want a laid-back pub with excellent pizza and cold beer, McCauly's delivers. read more

Casual spot for food , and not bad service . My word of advice , the "fried chicken" be taken off the menu . ONE piece of a boneless chicken tender that's BLAND and is not worth the money is not something to advertise as even a lunch "special" as it was advertised . They even failed to mention "boneless." Didn't go making a fuss since we as a group had to run, but again DONT ORDER THE "FRIED CHICKEN" you may be disappointed. read more

Food; good. Ambience; typical. Service: Poor. Regular intermittent customer. Bad experience. Wife and I stumbled upon a band we really like. 09/17/2024. Waitress cleaned off our table before we were done! While Dancing! I had wanted to stay, almost walked out without paying. Tacky. (Upset). Do not punish responsible drinkers - we watch our liquor intake! I am only 75, can't drink like I uses to. (But we can drink up the street). Please don't be pushy this way. W H S. (This review could have been a Five)! It's a fun location; Gang don't ruin it. read more

Not really impressed. The bar was out of Crown Royal. Fellow patrons said they had been for days. Couldn't they have went to a liquor store and picked up a couple bottles? Bar was dirty. Poorly lit. I was told they are known for their pizza but I didn't have any food. They have one pool table and few dart boards. The only good thing about the place is that Stagger Lee was playing. This is mostly just a local hole. Won't be back. Even if in the area. Rather go to James third base or others. read more

I havent been here in awhile but everytime I have been here there food is always above average bar food. The drinks were always cold. The service was always pleasant and the prices were right. They also have pool table and darts so it's a good place to grab some drinks, friends, and hangout. Plenty of parking even though it looks as if they dont. Will go back soon. read more

It's a bar with pretty good food. It was an old hole in the wall. Dirty with broken furniture. They have a juke box, keno and a ton off tv's for sport watching. There's tons of floor space. You can dance if you want to. A couple of people were. They have draft beer and bottles. I'm pretty sure there's a full bar. The bar is located right in the middle of the floor. There are a bunch of food choices. The drinks were a little expensive especially for a Thursday night. There were no specials. Isn't Thursday ladies night anymore? Im pretty sure that's a neighborhood meeting spot. Not many people had food items, only drinks. read more

I really like McCauley's. It's a relaxing place to go. Have a drink listen to a band if they have one. Their pizzas are good. They're Philly cheesesteak is good. But I would recommend it. It's safe and quiet usually. Darts. You can watch the games there on several big TVs. I like the pub. read more

The pizza I ordered was microwaved and the fish was unimpressive. Music was better than the food.

This review is solely based on their pizza. We've been here before and thought the average rating of 3 1/2 stars was about right for the typical pub sandwiches that we've had in the past. But, tonight we were in the mood for pizza, and my wife said she heard McCauly's pizza was good. I checked Yelp (and Google) reviews and saw many favorable comments on their pizza so we gave it a try for carry-out. I have to say that I found it to be one of the best pizzas in the area. I ordered a medium pizza with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and bacon. The toppings were all very good and plentiful. Given the amount of cheese, you would have thought we ordered extra cheese, but we didn't. The sauce was a bit tart, but that's the way I like it. The crust was thick around the edge and thin in the middle, and it was perfectly baked with a fresh bread flavor. Not only was the pizza extremely tasty, but our 4-item medium pizza was well-priced at $13.75. We will definitely be getting McCauly's pizza again. read more

Okay, I don't know about the neighborhood bar aspect to this place. It comes across as "Everybar", the neighborhood place where you can drop a couple bucks in the jukebox, punch some Skynard, and toss a game of electronic darts that will make the resident cougar swoon. What I CAN tell you about McCauley's Pub is that I come here for lunch on occasion and the place fills up. Packed tight. And the demographic is across the board. Blue collar guys, business women, college kids, you name it. The food is actually pretty darn surprisingly decent! The lunch specials are actually downright tasty! Down home cooking entree's like country fried steak with green beans on the side. Stick to your ribs country food that is completely out of character for what is otherwise a neighborhood dive bar. Again, the latest I've ever been in the place might be 1:30 pm, so I can't even remotely speak to the evening scene. Probably not my kind of place. A little rough around the edges. I hum some Garth Brooks, "I've got friends in low places...", as I head towards the door. But for lunch? Hey, what the heck, right? Sometimes you find those surprising diamonds in the rough. read more

Had a great time visiting McCauley's tonight. Our first time and Laura our server was great. Had the 1/2 order of quesidillas and a pizza. Food was really good. Price was great. Service was excellent. Would have given 5 stars, but no Irish beers on tap. We will be going back for Trivia night on Wednesday's. read more

Excellent local bar with outstanding food! I've been to McCauley's dozens of times and have never had anything I didn't love - my favorites being the Fried Mac-n-Cheese, Broccoli Poppers, and Jalapeno Poppers (cream cheese, yummy dipping sauce). I don't usually like pizza, but I love it at this place - the cheese actually stretches when you bite into it, and you can tell the ingredients are fres,h and someone took the time to put your meal together. Salads are top notch as well - even if you ask for a half order, they're still huge! Wednesday night trivia, an infusion of live music, and service that can't be beat - if you want to feel like you've hit the server lottery, ask for Laura's section. She's the best I've ever seen. You won't be disappointed no matter what time of day/night of the week you go - the fare is consistent and tasty, and the clientel runs the gamut from business professionals to biker looking types. Come one, come all. Just come hungry! read more

Been there many times. The Monday night musician Sonny Moorman is awesome. He plays blues guitar and sings. His band is tight. The food is very good bar/local restaurant food. To me, the best items are the Grand Salads, Antipasta Salad, jalapeño poppers and chili. I get the first three all the time. The salads are huge. The bar has typically an older crowd. They are accepting of non locals and diversity. Stop in. read more

Having fun knocking back a couple with my man. Nice neighborhoods bar!! Food avail till 11pm. Not too loud for the 'grown' ups.

Great dive bar and the food is outstanding. All but one server are outstanding (if you've been there you know exactly who I'm talking about) and did I mention the food? Try the pizza first but everything else is great. Food and drinks are super cheap. Crowd probably averages early 40s and place is packed with dinner crowd right after work read more

Nice local bar, no frills. OK beer list. GREAT pizza.

well i have always said great food and horrible service .. not because of the servers but by the cheap A owner that wont hire enough help ... he is the worst owner ever ... the men bathrooms are so small you can barely fit .. and always smell of pee because hes too cheap to hire someone to clean them .. we went tonight .... he had so few servers... his sister in law.. a customer had to help server .. some other regular had to serve.. we sat outside with about 6 other tables . no server .. everone had to go in .. order .. then go in for more drinks . why ? owner too cheap to hire enough servers.. they said 22 bar tenders called off.. and where was the owner? ill tell u where .. NO WHERE TO BE FOUND .. well we wil be like the owner NEVER GO BACK TO THAT PLACE AGAIN ... if you do go go pee before u go so you dont have to go into the filthy bathrooms that have not changed in 30 years and be prepared to be a DO IT YOURSELF RESTAURANT ... and if you are not a regular.. hahh the servers wont even look at you ... totally ignore the non regulars and we were regulars... SELF SERVICE RESTAURANT since the owner is too cheap to get enough help ... STAY AWAY read more

Gave 1 Star because 0 wasn't an option. We had a party of 30 (soccer team and parents), had a reservation and wanted to make sure they could accommodate us, response was absolutely. Given the good ratings and proximity to our hotel we decided to give it a go. First 30 minutes - no problem Cindy did a nice job getting us drinks taking orders and then another party showed up. 90 minutes later we still did not have appetizers, some of us decided to give up and go elsewhere. It is a dump and a hole in the wall that has enough locals rating highly so that out-of-towners continue to show up. Complete disaster. Don't waste your time. read more

We absolutely love McCauly's Pub. We live in the apartments right across the street, and come in for a pitcher of Miller Lite and some White Chicken Chili at least twice a week. The appetizer list has about 20 options- all of them taste amazing. We always get a pizza though! The deluxe is loaded with toppings and cheese, and you really can't beat the price of anything on this menu. The regulars are super fun, and there is always a good crowd on weekends. I only wish they had a little patio area, or more windows to let in natural sunlight. On nice days, I tend to not want to go in because it's a little dark. Other than that, we love it!!!!!! read more

McCauleys is the best pub in the area. The pizza is amazing and the bartenders are even better. The bands are always great no matter what decade of music they are playing. Ask for Kevin and the man will make you some amazing and wild drinks. Everyone there will take care of you and this place definitely deserves my dollar. read more

Don't let the name fool you, this is by no means an Irish Pub. It hardly passes for a hole in the wall sports bar. It just happens that it's located at the corner of Fields Ertel and McCauly Rd. I've been there a couple of times and unless you're a regular, the service is pretty terrible ... especially if the chubby male bartender is your sole source of getting a drink. read more

McCauley's is a great local bar. The service was great, and my meal was good for "bar food." I'll stop by again when I'm in the area, but I would not call it a "destination" place. read more

This is a fun place, I've returned several times for lunch and dinner. The pizza is excellent, so many toppings to choose from and the portions are generous. I've tried an excellent burger, philly cheese steak sandwich, beer battered shrimp and a HUGE fish sandwich. I was really surprised at how diverse the menu is, if you want to eat lite, they even have salads. My friends and I love meeting here. There is plenty of room, so you won't feel cramped. The servers are super nice and attentive. They even have great entertainment, some really good bands playing. It's a surprising little gem in Sharonville. Love it! read more

great local bar. above average food (great pizza) and strong drinks. there are normally enough bartenders (the good ones too, that have seen it all) working that you don't have to ask for another drink. most everyone knows each other, but as an outsider, they treat you well. don't trust the open sign and enter on the far right door. once in, the place is pretty big. the bar is a large oval in the center, while there are high tables, booths, and communal high tables that can seat a large party of a few parties on the closet side on the opposite side are the pool tables, more high tables, & dartboards (real ones, not the auto-score ones). decent TVs along the perimeter, but only one in the center of the bar. they could definitely use a couple more. bottom line, very good food, great bartenders, a good crowd, & most importantly strong drinks. read more

THE GOOD: Pizza is incredible and music selection awesome. Dart boards are very nice. THE BAD: Service sucks!!!! Staff has their own agenda. There are no set bartenders or servers for this establishment. Bar if often left unattended and you have no idea who's who in this place when wanting to order! If you aren't a regular better sit for a while because you are last on their list!! Staff is not very attentive when needing service. I have extensive experience in the bar business and I have to say they get an "F" for promptness of service. No staff members circulated to our area around the pool table, we had to go to the bar for service. This is unacceptable for a bar! Beer selection is weak. 5 beers on tap isn't really enough to draw in business. They have no local (micro) beers on tap!! Pool tables are filthy and need new felt. We have been frequenting this place for last 2 month's and hardly anyone shoots pool!! (wonder why??) Last night we shot pool from 6-9 PM and no one else played a single game on the other table or challenged us to a game. By the time we left this place was dead! 9 pm on a Saturday night...and it's dead, what's that tell you? I have heard this place has been around a long time, and well, it appears they have become a little too comfortable with how things are done. This could be a great place and business would increase if changes are made. In my opinion they need 2 bartenders to STAY BEHIND THE BAR and 2 servers to walk the floor. read more
