Stopped by Anjou on a date night and really enjoyed it! We went with the choose your bartender option and it did not disappoint!
Anjou is a beautiful cocktail bar in the charming dainty neighborhood of Walnut Hills. On a warm evening, Anjou props open their windows making the whole place hip and relaxing. I quite enjoyed their light and refreshing Duchess ube cocktail. Paid parking can be conveniently on the same street.
Some of the best people in walnut hills. If you don't see your drink they can create it. They have some of the best bartenders and the best service. And the ambiance is gorgeous , so much so I used their decorator to wallpaper my work office. This is a great space for cocktails and make new friends. I frequent here more than I post. I you should do yourself a favor and pay them A visit.
I had seen photos of Anjou's cute decor online so was excited to see it was two doors down from a restaurant we ate at recently! The decor is a fun combination of black & white, with splashes of bright yellow. Lots of fun instagrammable areas for photos with your cocktails. Our server was friendly and helpful when we were trying to choose what cocktails to order. We were with a group of 4 who all ordered different drinks, that were all very tasty! ...and pretty! I love a pretty cocktail! One little extra positive thing to note: as we were leaving, at least 3 employees looked up from the bar and said goodbye and thanks for coming in! Little touches like that really stand out!
You absolutely want to have a craft cocktail...or three...at Anjou. Just back from a fun little bar crawl where we hit up this spot and a few other local places in the same block, and I have to say (que the Arnold Schwarzenegger voice): I'll be back. I walked in to the scent of fresh herbs, many of which feature prominently in this establishment's cocktail lineup. I lucked out getting a server named Cara (super-cool frames on her glasses, very becoming!) who clued me into the fact that there were off-menu drinks. I love a hidden menu, so I enjoyed TWO!!! My first was the "Naked and Famous," a non-grapefruit version of one of their standard cocktails. My second was the spicy version of the Bill Murray, and it was stellar! This is a new spot in the area and I can honestly say I think it's here to stay. The staff is young, there's a trendy vibe, there's a great cross-section of Cincinnati frequenting the place, and the cocktails are beyond delicious. Even better, there's a Happy Hour during the week that features a 25% discount on each cocktail. I'm no mathematician, but that sounds to me like every four drinks I get one is essentially free. Don't correct me if my math is wrong, just let me enjoy it...much like you will.

Anjour might be the prettiest bar I have ever been to. I loved every bit of the vibe and decor from the second I stepped inside. It was quiet and chill and a great spot for a late night chat with friends. I am a mocktail girl, so I was pumped to see some awesome-sounding mocktails on the menu. I settled on the Schamer '94 and loved every delicous sip of it. The server was kind and chatty. I absolutely recommend some after dinner drinks at Anjou!
Nice place on Woodburn just next to Woodburn Brewing. Nice selection of signature cocktails and good selection of liquor. Pleasant atmosphere and very good for conversation. Street parking until 6pm for $1.25/hr.

This is a sleek craft cocktail place whose design and aesthetic matches the exquisite quality of its cocktails. Seriously, this place is up there with some better known venues around the country. The Benedetto Alfieri with its "savory side" of bell pepper, shallot and basil, alongside the herbal liqueur, Italian amari, pisco and gin, is one of the most interesting I've had this year. That alone is worth the visit. Another round please!

The drinks are amazing, very unique , each with a special something. Stopped in on a Saturday with my son. We stayed for a couple of hours talking with staff and other patrons. Recently stopped in after menu update with a friend who had never been in, and she liked it as well. It's a simple but beautiful space. The pops of color against the black and white is gorgeous. I enjoy the music as well.
We visited Anjou for a Mixology 201 class! We graduated from 101 in Oct last year and came back for more! As you enter the beautiful space, you are greeted by the highly knowledgeable bar staff with a specialty cocktail. We sipped on 'A Ghost of Time' and 'Killing Moon' as the rest of the class arrived. The 101 class taught us shaking & stirring techniques, basic cocktail recipes and how to start a home bar. This week at the 201 class we learned flavor balancing, history of commonly ordered cocktails and even got to design our own! Our cocktail, The 'Joe Brrrr' was a twist on a Negroni! We played around with different flavors until we landed on the right balance - Gin, Pisco, Benedictine, Lillet Blanc, Grapefruit bitters expressed with an orange peel. Both classes include a sampling of a variety of ingredients such as liquors, liqueurs, bitters, and amaro. You gotta use all 5 senses when trying these! We're not kidding when we say the Anjou bar staff know their stuff. The owner, Wolfe is an encyclopedia of knowledge and his passion for craft cocktails shines through at these classes as he is always willing to teach you everything there is to know!
We had dinner across the street and came here for late night drinks to hang out with a friend longer. It wasn't that busy late for a Friday night surprisingly. I fully anticipated that I'd be drinking water since I went alcohol free this year. I'm living for good mocktails. The "Spencer" did not disappoint. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and fantastic service.
What a splendid place to find by chance. Cocktail bars are an uneven category that are usually overglorified bars or wine bars that want a wider clientele. Not Anjou! A genuine cocktail bar dedicated to offering you a rotating menu of specialty drinks and mocktails, and willing to accommodate your custom requests as needed. Friendly and prompt service, pleasant atmosphere, everything a discerning customer could ask for for a few drinks waiting on a restaurant seat! I'm particularly fond of places that make mocktails a regular part of their service. What is effectively custom soda is a greatly undeserved area. read more

Akil - that's all you need to know! Not just the general manager / but a sensational mixologist and great spirited individual with a lot of culture. He hooked me up with a "trust the bartender" El Diablo with Mezcal and one of those pistachio shots as a cocktail as well both delightful. The vibes was tight perfect or solo trip (which I was on) or nice date night! read more
Anjou has all the vibes for catching up with friends or an intimate space for a date. The bar area is cozy with limited seating in the front, but they have an entire back room and patio for bigger groups. The bartenders were friendly and patient taking everyone's orders. They have an interesting and varied mocktail list which I appreciated. The mocktail I had was refreshing and delicious! Would easily come back to try out all their other drinks. read more

Outstanding cocktails at this chic bar. A bit of a Parisian flair with floral art accents, dim lights, and candles. The place is spacious yet cozy and inviting. We sat at the bar to watch drinks being made and chat with the friendly staff. Service was quick and the menu options were great. Grab a paper menu to see the drink descriptions with a little photo next to each. It may help you decide what to order. They even had a special 'Dry January' menu of mocktails. I must say the mocktails are just as tasty as any regular drink. Pricing is great too with cocktails at $12. They have seating for two near the front and can accommodate larger groups in the back. No parking lot so you will need to find street parking or a lot. read more
I have literally been following this bar's IG posts like Bridgerton waiting for an opening date. Today, my persistence paid off as I scored an invite to a private event and it did not disappoint. They're still working out the menu, but this place is going to be the crown jewel of East Walnut Hills cocktail experiences when they formally open. First off, it's so cute. Thoughtful decor and design make this location somewhere you can get lost for awhile. Next, the drink menu is inspirational and adventurous, but everything I tried was equally delicious. The SheWolf was my favorite, but honestly each was better than the last. I can't wait to frequent this spot more often when the doors open in May, but expect it to become a quick hot spot. They were also taking COVID precautions with masks, separation and extreme cleanliness. Definitely worth a try for drinks before or after a local dinner. read more
Fantastic cocktails. If you're in the mood for some upscale, inventive cocktails, go to Anjou. My personal favorite is the Bill Murray. I went after reading about the place in Bon Appétit. I'm glad they highlighted it. Anjou is the cool type of place I want to exist. The decor and vibes are great. The service is attentive and top notch. read more

I love the artistry of the drinks and the ingredients and I love the location but it kinda feels like gentrifier central here. It's the most homogeneous place I've been on the main drag and despite feeling like It wasn't a place for me l went in. Service and staff were great and I honestly have no complaints other than there being no POC besides the folks I came with. In this day and age if was a little off putting. The cutest cocktail bar! I've been wanting to try Anjou for the longest and finally got the chance yesterday! My husband and I went for a few drinks while his parents had the kids. It was an awesome time. The ambience is dope and the decor is beautiful! They have two window seats and we were able to sit in one of them and it was awesome! Also, the service provided by Jacob, one of the bar tenders was also really good. We were being waited on by a lady but her service was a little slower. She was just very lackadaisical on checking on us. She brought us our initial drinks and then she never really came back. I had to eventually walk up to the bar and ask for help. That's when I spoke with Jacob who was very helpful and awesome. My husband and I each ordered two drinks. My husband had a glass of wine and the Bill Murray x 2 and I had the She Wolf and Violet's Sloe Fizz. We both truly enjoyed our drinks and didn't have any complaints. They each were different but had good flavors and were well balanced. We also had a charcuterie board from The Rhined. I mean you can't go wrong ordering any board that comes from them. It went well with our drinks and acted as a mini snack before we went to dinner. A great way to start our night. Overall, my husband and I truly enjoyed Anjou, it's vibes and what they are offering, amazing drinks! Certainly stop by and give them a try. read more
The loveliest cocktail bar I've ever been in. I feel like Anjou is such a contrast to the speakeasy/speakeasy-ish bars that continue to be popular. Everything here is light and bright - they literally keep their doors and windows open when the weather allows. Even the online menu contributes to the vibe (clean lines, with an illustration of how each drink is served and garnished). While the decor is great, the real stunner is the bar program, as it should be. The cocktails are truly creative (shallot simple syrup. a cocktail inspired by soy glazed carrots. what?!). My husband and I run a pretty good bar program at home, ha (thanks to Covid), so if I venture out, I'm really looking for interesting ingredients and preparations. The first time we went to Anjou, we were in town for another reason, but had time for a drink, and I found it on some online listicle of "cool Cincinnati bars that aren't in OTR." Incredible experience, great service and conversation with one of the owners, Chris. The second time we went, it was because we'd spent the week thinking and talking about the experience we'd had the weekend before, and driving from Louisville to Cincinnati for a top notch cocktail seemed like as good an idea as anything else on a Sunday afternoon. We will certainly return, as Anjou has become reason enough for us to head to Cinci. read more

Perfectly Delightful is how I would describe this bar. Service was great! Bartenders were great and were fun to watch. The ambiance was perfect. The drinks ranked in order: 1. She wolf (my husband and I both agreed that this was our fav) 2. Bill Murray 3. A ghost of time 4. Cafe Ellena (my least favorite). My only complaint is that a ghost of time was overpowered by the bitters. I absolutely can't wait to go back! One of my new favorites. read more
Anjou is a great location to get a little dressed up and grab a cocktail! We came on a Saturday night and the place was pretty crowded so upon arriving we immediately sat down and grabbed a small table. Immediately after sitting one of the bar tenders came over and gave us water glasses and a carafe of water which was so nice! He then came back around and explained some of the drinks to us and we went ahead and ordered some cocktails! What was really nice is that the staff came over and took your orders from the table - you did not have to get up and stand at the bar to order - you could truly relax and feel pampered! I ordered the She-Wolf to start as I wanted to try the rose shaped ice and my significant other ordered the A Ghost of Me (came with a real tree rubber decoration!). Both cocktails were so smooth good that we stayed for another round - this time I got the Otra Palabra (spicy!) and my significant other the Benedetto Alfieri - which was a red pepper based cocktail which was very interesting! Overall the atmosphere of this place was great - bright and open with great music playing. Only thing I would change is closing the front bay windows as there were some small bugs that flew in drawn to the sweetness in the drinks. Also would have loved some charcuterie or light snack options to pair with our drinks. Besides that had a 10/10 experience here and definitely will be back! read more

We came here for pre-dinner drinks before our reservation at Solstice, and it's so gorgeous! Nice and airy, perfect for a summer evening. I got the She-Wolf & a French 75, both refreshing & delicious. Everyone else got the Bill Murray, and some classic cocktails like Old Fashioneds and Sazeracs. I'm always a little skeptical of overly frou frou bars and how good their drinks actually are but this place is the real deal, they do it up right and smooth! read more
When you're in the mood for bougie drinks with flavors you can't find anywhere else I'd suggest Anjou. I had Washingtons Island (something you have to ask for) with chai infused rye and yuzu. I also tried the Shandy Claus which was very herbal and refreshing. Service was outstanding and the vibe was cool and chill. I'll definitely be back. read more

I am so happy this bar is now open! It is an absolute gorgeous addition to the East Walnut Hills neighborhood. The decor is to die for! We came in on a Saturday night and it was fairly crowded (which I am so very happy about for the owner Chris). We were created by Chris who was super professional and polite. We were able to get seats at the bar, and when a table opened up we sat on very comfortable half moon couch/table. The entire time my husband and I were literally in all of the decor. From the wallpaper to the light fixtures to the artwork to the coasters with the QR code for ordering your drinks. The bathroom is absolutely gorgeous and so very thoughtful. There were tampons for free for guests! We ordered Bill Murray one and two. Bill Murray 2 is a spicier version of bull Murray one. After that round we had to have more and ordered a ghost in time. These specially curated drinks are definitely worth trying! The entire staff was so very kind and friendly they added an extra warmth to the environment. We will most definitely be back, probably more often than we should LOL. read more

I would say this is one of the best cocktail bars in the area! We love it! It's in a cool up and coming spot in Walnut Hills. They have a decent sized bar with about 12 seats, they have front window seats that actually open, and they have cool comfortable seating around the rest of the room. They have a really nice, unique cocktail list, and a nice wine selection. The staff are always very friendly and you can tell they love the craft of making cocktails. One of the partners has been there every time we have been there and he is far from a spectator. He is constantly on the move and seems to act as a bar back for the bartenders. I have even seen him make drinks. We love this neighborhood and now we have a nice place to enjoy a cocktail. We will be regulars. read more
