Went to Saeso for the first time last night and I can't wait to go back. Very cool space with good tunes and good decor. They spin vinyl so you'll hear some cool stuff. The exposed brick looks classic. I think a great bar shouldn't be too big, and this is a tighter space. The drinks were also fantastic. I was really impressed with the cocktail menu, a cool mix of classics and innovations. The espresso martini was a 10/10. This is the first review I've ever left in my whole life. Ever since they have gone under new ownership the bartenders have lost all respect for patrons. At 1:02AM my drink was taken out of my hand along with my three other friends drinks Literally taken from my hands. At 12:50AM my water was taken out of my hands. Yes, again, out of my hands. The bathrooms were disgusting and out of toilet paper for hours. It's really sad that my favorite bar go downhill during to disrespectful staff. This is a laid-back greatest escape from all the hustle and bustle of the downtown crowd. This bar never disappoints. It's always easy to come to the bar and order in good fun and good music. The drinks were made well and we had an amazing time with friends here. This is the perfect place for after dinner drinks like we did or even pre-dinner drinks. It's open late so you always have it as an option when it comes to a nice quaint bar. Though small it is very cozy and has plenty of seating for a group or even a couple. This place is well themed with a disco ball hanging from the ceiling providing gleaming lights for all. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Go off menu. While their menu is delectable with classic cocktails and twist on some you may know. They also can make drinks not featured but just as delicious. We were able to do a Parmesan Martini that was very savory. 2) Get that Gourmet Grilled Cheese. Mon- Sat 5pm to9pm it is available. Very trendy, very minimalistic, come in for a classic cocktail or something with a twist. The bartender was even willing make us a crazy drink that was off the menu which we appreciated! I came here after a midday pedal wagon, and the staff was so nice about us being a big group of women, rowdy, in the middle of the day, haha! The space is a beautiful little alcove across from Sugar and Spice diner. I'm so glad we found this bar on the pedal wagon because I don't know if I would have found it any other way! I loved the soft light and the decor, the plants had an added bonus and the shade kept the inside cooled down. I had a new beer there I'd never tried before, I appreciate beers that are unique to the area so I can expand my palate. I was also able to try the spicy margarita which was crafted very well. Cute little spot on the edge of Pendleton and OTR. Good specialty cocktails and great vibes throughout the various 3 sitting spaces. They have a cocktail list of few house specialties but they will make you any drink you want. Visited early on a Saturday and there was 1 bartender so it took a little longer to order drinks - but there are 2 bars in the space so hopefully they use both at peak hours. Loved the taco truck in the back area - they have the very ~trendy~ birria tacos $3/10! The Pork taco was also really flavorful. Recommend a stop in if you're in the area! read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a while and I was happy that today I got the chance. It's tucked away on Sycamore Street, but it makes you feel like you are in a completely different location. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday afternoon, but I think that may be because of the FC Cincinnati game. Despite being small there is ample space for people to gather. I sat on the back patio with a friend and enjoyed the delicious cocktails as well as the taco truck. The food was reasonably priced and the cocktail menu while limited was delicious. It was easy to find street parking and I will surely be back to this fun new location. read more

Bar Saeso is a cute little bar! I've been here because Pata Roja Tacos is located in the back. Of course we had to get margaritas to go with our tacos. They have a variety of drinks and cocktails to choose from. However, we have only had their margaritas. They have three margaritas. We had their house margarita as well as one of their flavors mixed with the house margarita. I don't remember the flavor names but both margaritas besides the house have a spicy kick to them. The mixed margarita I had was very good! The house marg balanced the spice of the other one so it was more blended. Bar Saeso also has two bars, one in the front and one in the back. There is seating in the front and at the bar at the back. The staff is always cool and helpful. Overall, Bar Saeso is good and what's even better is the taco truck out back! I've read such good things about Saeso so I decided to give it a try. Went on a Saturday night with a friend and first I love that they have parking space right next to the it. As soon as we stepped in we were greeted and asked to wait so they can sit us accordingly. Once they clear/sanitized the space we sat at the bar. Their menu is very simple made of 7 cocktails. I had the Pepperotini and she had the Spa Water Spritz. I wasn't too impressed with my drink, nor was my friend. They were okay but nothing out the ordinary. I had for a second drink, but I asked for a Negroni (which is not on the menu). That one was delicious! It was well prepared. The space is small but very cozy and warm. They have candles all over which makes it feel romantic and fancy. The staff is great, welcoming and friendly. Plan to go back if they switch their menu. read more

I have been to Saeso a couple times now and I love the vibe. It is a narrow bar that goes far back and out to a food truck in OTR. The front part of the bar is a very nice and classy area with a large bar, then around back there is another small bar and outside there is a Mexican food truck. I have not been able to try the food yet, but I have heard great things. Both times I have gone I have gotten a margarita and they are very good. Definitely a fun little spot to check out. read more

It's not the biggest space, but is a very cute and chill place to hang on a beautiful summer afternoon. This review is during COVID time so please take note accordingly. The service here is kind and friendly. Came on a sunny Saturday afternoon hoping to grab seats out back where they have various open seating. The ambiance is very "neighborhood joint" and relaxed. The drink menu of specials is short and focused (which I sometimes think is good because they know what they make well!) I ordered first just a brut sparkling wine and was impressed that the place didn't serve the $7 kind like most spots in OTR . On 2nd round I tried the special martini. My friends tried the house margaritas and a few of the other menu cocktails and least to say we were here a couple hours so everything was very tasty! A couple of improvements that would give this place all 5 stars: outside seating is a bit awkward/sparse and I wish they had more tables or even fewer tables but space to stand socially distanced. The Taco truck posted out back also wasn't open and we were excited to try it and bummed we couldn't, so maybe signage on open/closed would help? OVERALL: I really like the location, service, and drinks at this cool euro-style neighborhood bar and will definitely be coming back again for the friendly crew and the good drinks! read more

The latest bar to open in Pendleton (or depending on how one looks at it, OTR). They're directly across from Sugar n' Spice OTR location inside what used to be a former law office. A friend and I stopped by on their official opening night to the public October 1st. We were warmly greeted by the GM or maître d'. She sat to the side by the front doing crowd control; directing customers where to safely sit, provide masks, and what not. She handed us menus which included their six specialty cocktails, each with the same set $12 price and went thru each of them. Note: They don't have anything on draft however they provide an ample array of beers like Corona, Modelo, Heineken, Dos Equis, Stella Artois and a few wines in case one isn't in the mood for a cocktail. I ended up starting with the Condesa which I enjoyed. It has a little kick to it thanks to the spicy honey and tajín or tampico seasoning they sprinkle on top. While my friend got the Rotating Punch however didn't seem to feel any of the so called "knockout" it provides. Their bartenders weren't haphazard at all. They had gloves, masks, and additional precautions set in place. Bar Saeso (www.barsaeso.com) being in a former law office, it's quite intimate inside this nearly sesquicentennial year old home. They embrace that warmth by providing candlelight at each table along with a lot of vegetation to add to the homey feel. Very strategic for the team behind Saeso, Guilfoil & Wulfson (www.guilfoilandwulfson.com) wanted to have the bar be an extension to their iconic AirBnB Carriage House tucked directly behind in the alleyway.
