Have been wanting to check out the Globe for quite some time. Popped in this evening after dinner for a cocktail. We were the only ones in the bar, but I was impressed the second I walked in! This is a bar off the main paths in Covington. It's clean, plenty of space and many drink choices to choose from. They also have a nice little patio out back. Bartender was nice and also introduced us to "The B line." A passport series for bourbon lovers here in Northern KY. I highly recommend stopping in here next time you are in Covington and looking for a nice cocktail! read more

Nice cozy spot for drinks off of the beaten path. Came for happy hour Wednesday, which is $2 off cocktails ALL DAY. Most of their drinks are made with bourbon, but you can always request something else! They also have a frozen margarita and frozen bourbon slush machine. Drinks were strong and delicious, and they have ample amount of seating inside. Definitely worth checking out. read more

This trendy bar used to be a strip club. Now it's a beautiful bar that has lots of bourbon fragrant wine and lots of speciality cocktails. Kudos to the Globe for curating a super diverse cocktail menu that truly has something for everyone. I am so freaking sick of bourbon taking over a THIRD of the cocktail list. This menu boasts everything from gin and vodka, to locally made rum and even mezcal. I've included it below so you can see for yourself. I had the sage before beauty -- $9 Bombay Dry Gin, Pear, Lemon, Demerara, Sage, and it was really beautiful. It was light and refreshing and a nose FULL of aromatics which is exactly what I wanted based on the description. The bartenders here know what they are doing and based on my delightful surprise he let me know they go through hours of training and are constantly refining and switching things up. I'll be honest though, the atmosphere was kind of dead with just a few locals hamming it up at the bar. It's not my favorite layout either. It looks a bit like it's having an identity crisis and probably so, to be laid back enough to fit into Covington, but classy enough to match the level of quality in the cocktails. Overall a MUCH needed addition the neighborhood, and a breath of fresh air. Loved The Globe. Interesting history on the walls about the name and location. Make sure to ask. Lovely conversation pits for groups. Well stocked bar with lots of options. Just right for a good time and a good cocktail. Will keep it on my list for first date meet and greet spots! read more

Hands down one of my favorite cocktails place. Like a lot of people have commented, it is a very calm and relaxed place. It is perfect for a cute date or a small group, kind require small talks otherwise it could get a little awkward. Its like a coffee shop almost, but with great cocktails. The bartenders there are amazing. Great people to chat with, one of the main reasons I love that place. They are there to create cocktails, share stories and leave you to it when it is the right time. The other part, of course, it is the cocktails. Each one of them is well thought out, full of creativity, cant go wrong with any of them. Or you can ask them to make something for you based on what you like and they always come on top. Probably not gonna be your Friday night lit bar, but I think it is a hidden gem. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Good cocktail bar with lots of seating for large or small groups to just chill out with a few drinks. The inside is relaxed and not very loud, so if you like that this is the place for you. The cocktail list was very interesting...Everyone I talked to seemed to like what they ordered. They also have board games for you to borrow so you can spend a few hours here. They serve snacks, but we didn't get to try anything. Overall, I'm a fan. read more

Terrific cocktail bar with expertly crafted drinks and some good food to boot. My old fashioned was amazing, and the last word (a specialty gin cocktail drink from the menu) was really good as well. My wife and I ordered the pear and Bleu flatbread with prosciutto, and that was excellent as well. A really big space with plenty of comfy seating, PLUS they have an unadvertised happy hour from 4-6 seven days a week. $2 off every drink, which kept the bill reasonable, although even at full price, the drinks are well worth it. We will definitely be back and are looking forward to taking some friends, too. read more

I hosted a baby shower of 30 guests at The Globe this weekend and we had a fantastic experience. The manager, Jess, was in regular communication with me (super important as I am from out of town). The entire event was exactly how I had planned - the bartender and general manager working the event were kind, approachable, and more than accommodating. Stopped here on the Braxton Escape Room Bar Crawl and can't wait to come back for more! 5 stars definitely deserved for the good vibes surrounding this gem. The Globe feels tucked away next to a little alley. When you walk in, you're welcome by lots of cozy seating around the bar which opens up to a relatively large area around the stage for live music. While there we got a taste of the 6-8 beer taps available and some live music while the bad was warming up. I feel like this spot is much more of a cocktail bar and I really look forward to returning to try them out and get more of a taste for the music scene here! read more

My friend and I went for the Rose tasting, which as far as tastings go was a little on the pricey side - $30 for 7 tastes and food. Considering that, I was definitely not expecting the "pours" to be approximately one sip of each wine. I go to a lot of wine tastings, so I am not trying to get drunk by any means, but I would like to be able actually enjoy a little bit of each of the wines. I made a comment to the lady who was coming around with the pours, and she told me that they couldn't do more than 2 oz pours - I'm aware of the tasting rules, but even at the $5 Whole Food wine tastings that click off after 2 oz pour I'm getting way more than one sip. The food spread was pretty sparse - a couple of flatbreads, some bread slices, random cheese slices and salamis. Again, had this been like a $15-20 wine tasting, I would have given it a better review. But for it being on the higher side, I expected real tasting pours and a better food selection. read more

This is a great spot in the midst of booming downtown covington. Tucked away in the old club Venus spot, they did a great job turning this into a classy, cocktail space with surprisingly a lot of room. I hosted an event here with 60+ people and the 2 bartenders were very friendly and hospitable. I will be back and I plan to be very soon. read more

Definitely my favorite bar of all time. I'm not really the "going out" type but I love me a good cocktail and some charcuterie. It's such a comfortable vibe, where you can actually hear the conversation you're having with someone, unlike most other bars. Had a lovely experience here last week. A guitarist and accompaniment held the space nicely one evening. I could speak with others at a reasonable volume or tune into the sweet tunes. The flatbread was amazing. Bartenders put knowledge into drink inquiries with kindness whether something custom or a chic cocktail from their menu. I look forward to going back. Definitely a good place to meet with pals. Or go solo. Or biz thing. Multiple seating situations; belly up to bar, grab a table or sit on sofas. Nice atmosphere. read more

Haven't had any snacks here yet but a place that has a grilled cheese of the day can't be bad the drinks (and bartenders) are top notch, and they have a wide range of beer on tap, hops to double stout (yum). Beautiful bar, excellent service and very unique cocktails! More of an upscale bar. We were not there during peek hours so there was only about 6 people in the place on a Friday. A Jazz band was setting up to play also. Not sure if this is the usual genre of bands they have, but it is a different vibe than your typical bar. Hoping that this place does well. First time visit to The Globe with friends to hear the band Push Play. They were scheduled to start at 8:00 so we arrived early to have a light dinner of appetizers from the delicious-sounding menu posted on the website; Charcuterie & cheese, baked Brie, grilled cheese, hummus plate, warm olives, etc. However, upon arriving and stating we wanted to order food, we were told that there wasn't any, except "maybe some chips". He went on to say that "they didn't have time to go to the grocery". What?? Seemed like a crazy explanation to us but we left and walked a few blocks down Madison to get dinner and then returned. The space itself is really nice and inviting and the band was amazing, although too loud for the small space. We wanted to sit on the sofas in front of the band but instead we sat at the bar to keep a little distance between us and the speakers. Overall, a great place with good service but food is essential! read more
