My first time coming here, it was a nice welcoming interior, sort of a mix between a bar and a gathering place to hangout. I loved how they had all sorts of information on local community resources, emergency assistance kits, and opportunities to donate to charitable causes. Even the staff were super friendly. They had a lot of local beer options on tap. I had a ginger spiced cider from a can which was the perfect balance of sweet and acidic with some cool notes I had never really experienced before. I was a bit worried when I ordered dinner since the menu only had 5 or 6 items, but I think they chose to make a few great menu items as quality over quantity. The Chicago beef french dip sandwich was amazing. Thinly sliced, tender, with piping hot au jous. And the richness was well balanced by an assortment of pickled vegetables that I could tell were made fresh! We were warmly welcomed by one of the best bartenders we've had at a brewery in a long time. They were happy and upbeat and knowledgeable about their tap list. I went for a flight of three with Odyssey(NE IPA), Pfeffernuse(Holiday Brown Ale), and All Black Everything(Breakfast Stout). I thoroughly enjoyed all of them along with their Snow Day (White Stout). The space is large and somewhat sparsely filled, but comfortable. For food you can grab some of the best Korean fried chicken and bites in town at Decibel, which has its own pickup window right in the brewery. read more

We arrived on a Sunday so that might have been part of our issues. It was fairly empty but it took awhile for someone to take our order at the bar. We did try their brunch crepe selection which was pretty good. The food station that had fusion options of American and Asian fare - was interesting and pretty good. For those two reasons, we would return. The beer selection was not ideal for our palette. It was not a good selection - mostly light beers. The darker one that was selected had an off taste. Came through to celebrate a friend's birthday party and had the best time at Esoteric! Great use of space with ample seating plus an introvert friendly quiet area and patio outside. I liked how there's an area where folks can perform, we heard an electric violin play which sounded superb. Ok, parking sucks big hairy sweaty...tennis balls. Sorry I had to get that out of the way and now I can enjoy my beer! Esoteric Brewing is brewery visit #257 for me. Well I did include a couple of distilleries but it's all good. As mentioned parking is tough as of this writing but a sign inside said a parking structure behind the building is under construction. EB has a BIG taproom. Long bar with seating as well as plenty of table seating in a couple of rooms. A flight of five was in order along with some food, which I will get back to in a moment. Paraiso Mexican lager is a nice one. I like a touch more sweetness in mine but this was still quite good. The Oktoberfest was very true to style. I'm used to many places serving up a beer much more in an amber style as a festbier, which isn't a bad thing but just isn't true to style. Very good beer. A Dunkel is one of my favorite beer styles. I was introduced to a good Dunkel at Gordon Biersch many years ago and it has stuck with me. Nice. Malty, low bitterness. Just a good Dunkel. The Dahlia Brown I ordered in honor of SWPFTD as she loves brown and red ales. This fit best as a British brown IMHO and was good. Malty with a bit of sweetness. Last up was Odyessy NE IPA as I had to put at least one IPA on the board. Citrus, grapefruit, smooth hop flavor and aroma. A really nice IPA! The brewery has food in the form of Decibel, a Korean style chicken stand. I went with Bulgogi egg rolls and garlic soy chicken tenders. All were really good. I would have revisited the Dunkel with a pint but I'm only in town until tomorrow and have another brewery I want to visit. EB is solid though! What a great little brewery over in East Walnut Hills! Upon entry, the space is incredibly open. There are plenty of tables, and the walls are filled with fun pictures and paintings. My friend and I stopped in during the week, so it was a bit on the quieter side. This was perfect for us however, because we were able to sit and chat and take in the place. Our bartender, Laura, was lovely. She was super knowledgeable and chatted with us for a while. We also met more of the staff outside by the fire pit, and they were all wonderful as well. This is a local business that is Asian-owned and black-owned too, so I'm extra glad we discovered it and were able to stop in. My friend and I tried their new beer, the Azalea, which I thought was great. Laura recommended it to us, and it was delicious! I'm glad we went with her suggestion, as my friend really enjoyed that one too. They have a nice, outdoor patio space in the back, with a little fire pit that we were able to use. This is especially good to keep in mind as summer is almost here; there are plenty of picnic tables, so big parties could come and sit outside as needed. This is the classiest brewery I've been to yet very laid back and welcoming. You walk in and you are greeted by the workers. I told them it's our first time. You can sit anywhere and they will wait on you. Instantly I love the concept. We decided to sit at the bar. The brewery is very spacious! Love the decor, lighting, lounge chairs, and the mood. There is also outdoor seating. Esoteric Brewing does canning, howlers/growlers to go, flights and they have great selection of taps, wine, and cocktails if you are not a beer drinker. There is something for everyone. We decided to do two flights of four: Chrysalis American cream ale Tuesday Night Remix black tea Mystic Celestial juicy pale ale Virtue Belgian double Dahlia Brown 1794 Black IPA Paramount Porter Opulence Stout Wow! Great quality of craft beers! All tasted smooth! It was hard to choose my fave. Loved the black tea finished on the backbone, the caramel taste of the virtue, the rich flavor of the opulence. Our server even let us try samples of the Karma and Lotus. So good! What a great and fun experience! I am so glad we paid them a visit. Great service and beers. One of the many reasons I love Cincinnati are the many many breweries we have in the city! I love that each tells a different story and altogether paints an awesome picture of our Queen City's beer scene. Esoteric I feel represents a lot of Cincinnati, from their founders to the events they put on. It's not just a place to have great beer (which they do have) but it's also a lounge that invites you to stay and enjoy yourself and catch up with friends. This brewery is such a breath of fresh air and a wonderful addition to the Walnut Hills neighborhood. They elevated the brewery experience with their posh interior and speak easy vibes. All of their beers are crafted with care and excellence plus their glassware is absolutely gorgeous. They specialize in Belgian style beers and their goal is to eventually have 24 beers on tap. Though I am not the biggest beer drinker, I've gone here dozens of times since they opened because my boyfriend is a beer lover, I enjoy the atmosphere and their delicious Taste of Belgium food truck. I feel they are one of the few places taking a COVID-19 seriously. I have felt comfortable sitting in their outdoor patio next to a heater or fire pit, because I feel their is enough space to socially distance. All customers are asked to go through the front where they sanitize their hands and then get their temperature checked. You then are given the option to sit outside or inside. Someday I hope to sit inside once the virus is controlled, but for now we've only sat outside and the biggest perks of that is you are next to the food :) and they allow dogs outside. Nothing beats having delicious French fries with a cold beer to drink. The food truck knows how to make fries perfectly! I recommend checking out their patio and if you're up to it you can request a fire pit and bring your own supplies for s'mores. Tonight wow what an amazing craft brewery experience at Esoteric Brewing. Brian Jackson is the mastermind behind Esoteric Brewing who took his passion for creating works of art into uniquely elevated craft beer. Marvin Abrinica is the storyteller, marketing and business brains and Patrick Klesmith is the engineering and operations wizard. Each guest is welcomed by a host, asked how many people are in your party & if you would like to sit inside or outside, then your temperature taken you and sanitize your hands before being escorted to table. We sat outside on the back patio and were promptly given beer menu. They currently have 4 beers on tap & at the last minute they had one more beer a variant just tapped today. We all ordered flights, so we could try all of the beers. They have flight options of 4 or 2 beers, also with a room temperature water to cleanse your palate for each beer and each pour is 4oz each and presented in a beautiful handcrafted flight holder with unique glassware to allow the beer to breathe. The 4 beers currently on tap are Lotus IPA West Coast IPA (6.5%), Dahlia American Brown Ale (5.3%), Mystic English Pale Ale (5.1%) and Ethereal Belgian Blonde Ale (6.7%) they technically had a 5th which was a variation on Etherial tapped today, too. All of the beers are truly refreshing, flavor profiles are top notch and are served in its own glassware to allow the beer to be at its best and you will find in Belgium and Belgian style beers. Dahlia really stood out tonight, the malts were incredible, roasted just right and truly perfect, I could have enjoyed this all night More beers will be created and eventually have a variety of beers, they have. 24 draft system. The beer is crafted right on sight just below the taproom & will eventually have sours and barrel aged beers. The brewery is filled with local art, high end finishes, velvet seating, all for you to enjoy craft beer. They also will soon have a food truck from a local restaurant which will pair well with the Belgian style beers. We were told the team all works together and tips are shared. Esoteric is the first minority owned brewery bringing back to life the Walnut Hills Peebles corner and excited for the neighborhood to continue to grow helping grow local entrepreneurs. While visiting my daughter & son-in-law in Cincinnati (from San Diego), they took me to one of their favorite places, Esoteric. It was in the middle of the day on a rainy Friday. It was more of an order and take out kinda day. However, we ate in the restaurant. I ordered the cauliflower, kimchi and a Tequila Tango. The cauliflower was tasty, light and delicious. The kimchi had that little "kick" (spicy) but not too much. The ambience was casual and welcoming. I was here during a previous visit, in the evening and it had a larger crowd I but did not eat food. End to end, a really enjoyable experience. Staff was super friendly. We came in the main door facing the street. The hostess did a quick temperature check and then gave us an overview of the facility, pointing out various seating options, brewing operations and the restrooms as she walked with us to our outdoor seats. I was amazed how much this simple act added nicely to the overall visit. She also made sure that we were familiar with QR codes and how to view the beer menu and the separate food truck menu and ordering. By the time we sat down, we were already liking this place. Our server then stopped by to give us some insight into the brewer's philosophy. Basically, you won't find a bunch of gimmicky beers on the menu. Rather, they focus on the core styles and the quality and craftsmanship that goes into each one. Based on this information, we chose to split small pours of 8 of the brewery's 10 offerings on tap that day. I have to say that they are delivering on their philosophy. All 8 beers, light to dark, German to West Coast, were executed very well. Not a dud in the bunch which we all know is rare when sampling a full slate of offerings at a brewery. Our server was just as friendly as our hostess, and from what we observed, everyone on the staff was engaged and really interested in delivering quality service. Such a refreshing change from some places where it feels like you're inconveniencing the staff by being there. Great service. Great beers. Great Covid protocol. First visit. I mostly came to support local business and to try the coffee beer on tap. I like the main room set up with plush lounge seating along the perimeter, great for a cozy date or a large group to be able to sit together. The back room felt a little neglected, just a couple of tables and a tv. There's a little walk up restaurant inside so no need to worry about getting food. Bartenders were friendly but the line got long several times. There's trivia on Thursdays. Overall it was a fine experience. The beer selection is small but there are several styles/colors available. Esoteric has a dope vibe! It's the first brewery I've seen that has a live music/lounge vibe. It pretty cool. It's pretty spacious and the way everything is set up makes for a relaxing lounge vibe with friends or the significant other. Estoteric is also minority owned. The brew master is African American and he is also a co-founder. I came with a friend. We tried a few different drinks as well as received a tour of Esoteric by one of the co-founders. It was a neat experience. We started but sitting in the taproom/lounge and enjoying some different samples of beer and beer mosas. Neither of us are big beer drinkers so we had their beer mosas. We tried the beer but literally it was just a sip. The beer mosas were still a little heavy on the beer. We sipped them slow. After spending some time in the lounge we took our tour. We saw the entire space from the lounge, to where they brew the beer, to where the beer is located on tap and comes to the bar. It was a cool experience. They even have a room that looks like a chemistry lab. The brew master is serious about his craft. He test a lot of different combinations as well as allows yeast to grow for different research purposes. Overall, Esoteric is a neat vibe! Certainly give it a try at least once. I'm not a big beer drinker, but I love locally owned community spots. My son and his fiancé ARE craft brew fans who recently moved to Cincinnati. I couldn't wait to take them to Esoteric, where my husband had his fav "Dahlia" and my son ordered two flights in order to try 10 different beers. They were thrilled and even I enjoyed several. Three of us are vegetarian and we'd just completed a 6 mile hike, so we were hungry enough to sample some of the veggie sides from Decibel Korean Chicken inside Esoteric. So many Cincinnati breweries, so little time... But Esoteric really stands out to me as potentially the classiest and one of the most unique among them all. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable too. And the brews? Definitely tasty! My lady and I stopped by kind of on a whim. When we walked in, we almost felt a little underdressed, since the inside looked like a classy 1950's jazz club. But we were greeted by a server right away and told to sit anywhere we'd like. We chose a spot at the bar for a couple flights to try it all. We started with Chrysalis cream ale, Virtue Belgian double, black tea Mystic pale ale, and Celestial pale ale. Every brew was super tasty, especially the Mystic with the black tea which gave the brew a very unique finish. Then we went for round two; Dahlia brown ale, 1794 black IPA, Paramount porter, and Opulence stout. Again, every beer was great. My lady and I pretty much raved about all of them. With so many breweries in Cincinnati, it can be tough to find those that really stand out, but Esoteric truly does stand out in my opinion.
