Stopped in a Saturday evening for a light dinner and a glass of wine. Love the 'small town' atmosphere. Half the store is a wine shop the other half a bar. They offer a full menu from appetizers to salads and soups to main entrees. Our Caeser salad was fresh,crisp and the dressing very good. The charcuterie was a great accompaniment to the wine. One of my favorite local wine bars. Great selection of wines from around the world. I had a Sicilian red the last time I visited. They also offer Friday wine tastings and allow groups and parties. The bar area is small but very nice and relaxing. They also offer craft beer and have a wine store on the other side of the establishment. The Bruschetta though.....I have no idea we have no idea what was at the base of that appetizer and it was funky. Almost too funky :) was it the wine in us? Overall, we were stuck between the flatbread or the bruschetta. Next time the flatbread. Great visit. Adequate parking. Fun place to hit while visiting my BFF. Life is great! read more

I know there's not much they can do about it, but two times I've brought other people here after talking it up and two times we had to leave after one drink because we were left to sit on uncomfortable metal stools. Piccolo is a classy and quaint bar in Glendale, with a good wine and beer selection, great service and a relaxed atmosphere. The kicker? simply the best burger in town. Three reasons: 1) the flavor and natural ingredients 2) the fries are excellent and 3) this is what sets this place apart: the burger menu changes every week and has creative, delicious and eclectic combinations. I never thought I would enjoy so much blueberry ketchup. The menu is small, only one burger per week (there's vegetarian and other options) and very importantly, food is served only Thursday-Saturday. One word of advice, just trust the chef, he's a genius. Piccolo is a truly hidden gem and hands down, the very best burger in town. read more

4 stars for wine service; 2 stars for food. We were there on a Tuesday, so no one in Glendale or its environs seemed to be outside their homes. But we had a gracious server we chatted up at the bar for a little camaraderie. The food, however, was pretty poor. It clearly isn't their feature, and I appreciate having small bites for people to enjoy with their drinks. But they should have kept it as charcuterie etc. We had a stuffed portobello mushroom that was dry and bland. The quinoa it was stuffed with was not fully cooked and the vegetables had no flavor at all. If I weren't hungry, I probably wouldn't have eaten it. I like that they offer 2 oz tasting pours as well as full glasses and quite a few half bottles. And if you purchase a bottle from the adjacent wine shop, which has a pretty nice selection of old and new world wines at expected prices, they only charge a $5 corking fee. Not bad. read more

I almost hate to give this place such a good review because it is already so crowded, but I have to because it is just a great place. Not only do they have a thoughtful selection of wines available in the wine bar, it is attached to Village Wines of Glendale, so you can wander over into the wine store, choose any bottle that suits your fancy and have the servers at Piccolo open it for you for a $10 corkage fee (in addition to the price of the bottle of course. Ha ha.). Chef Aimee creates the best menu of simple, inventive dishes that are available Thursday through Saturday. I have never had one of her creations that was not outstanding. They also have good live music most weekends. If there is any downside, it is that Piccolo is TINY when it comes to seating capacity, so if you are there on a night when it's rocking, you might have a long wait if it's not patio weather. read more

Great place to enjoy a glas of wine and listen to music. Attached to a great wine shop the qaint bar has an unbelievable atmosphere. The service was fantastic. The bartenders know their stuff and were able make suggestions for eveyone. The food was even better. Very different. Chef Amiee and her husband, Neal, work together like a well oiled machine. Amiee is inventive and pushes the envelope to develop flavors. They visit with everyone to make sure they satisfied and well served. Piccolo is our favorite weekend hangout in Glendale, OH. Food is served on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and the chef, Aimee Saling, is THE BEST! Her food is absolutely delicious and she can modify most dishes for food intolerances (which I very much appreciate). Julia Piazza Porter is at the bar most nights and a more pleasant, happy, competent hostess is hard to find! Great little wine shop, new chef is serving some delicious creative plates and the staff is a lot of fun. Tonight's menu was sweet potato nachos, cubano sandwich with duck fat fries, and a gnocchi with clam in an awesome cream sauce. Couldn't decide which to get so we got one of each. We stopped in Piccolo for the wine tasting on Friday and enjoyed ourselves so much we ended up staying for dinner. There is a nice wine selection in the wine shop next door and it is so neat that you are able to select your wine in the wine shop and carry over to the wine bar area. The appetizers during the wine tasting were delicious as were the shrimp tacos we shared for dinner. The acoustic music really adds to the ambiance as well. I highly recommend stopping in Piccolo.
