Popped in before dinner on May 4th and were surprised to be greeted by life size cardboard Yoda and Chewbacca cut outs, Star Wars decor, and Star Wars playing on the TVs. The staff sure know how to have fun with it the date! We sat at the bar and the staff were attentive and knowledgeable of the wines on menu. After seeing a Reel on Instagram I thought this would be a cool place for my wife and I to celebrate our 10 year anniversary after our dinner. I sent an email requesting a reservation and received confirmation within 24 hours. We've had the same server, Anthony, the last several times and he's does the best job of being attentive without being overbearing. I love this place. The fireplace, which dominates the main space, just is so welcoming. Even when I can't sit beside it -- which I often can't, because usually someone else has grabbed one of the couches -- it still just enhances the atmosphere. And you can't beat the patio on a warm night, it feels like a garden setting rather than sitting on the street. So in or out, a very welcoming space. The wine flights are wonderful, the small plates are very good. You can definitely make dinner out of them. The service is prompt and helpful. The only thing nitpick I have is the crackers that come with the cheese board. The cheese board feels very rustic and upscale, but it's served with club crackers, which are basically the white bread of crackers. Almost any other option would be a step up. read more

It was really crowded on the weekend and is actually pretty loud inside due to high people-traffic (there's street parking right outside in front, of you can park in Hyde Park Square and walk across the street). I've been coming to Unwind for years. Usually I stick to a glass of wine or a martini. Today I hosted 2 other people. 6 glasses of wine and 3 appetizers totaled $150+. With a tip I left $180 out of pocket. Appetizers were bleh! The wine choices were not on the high end. Overall very unimpressive. Of course it is clean and pleasant in its environment. We sat on the expansive uncovered patio which has plenty of seating. You can choose from a more formal table set-up or more informal groupings. I loved the outdoor lighting which was, for lack if a better description, very twinkly and romantic. This would be a terrific first date or night out spot. I popped inside to use restroom and interior has lower mood lighting with loads of comfortable seating choices from bar service to tables. I really appreciated that you could chose from variable sized pours (3 ounces & 6 ounces). I tried a Gewertz while my friend had a nice rose. I ordered a 3 ounces pour and when the server brought a full 6 ounces, he said bartender had made mistake but I'd only be charged for the tasting. Couldn't let the extra wine go to waste. I had a nice waitress named Natasha, who walked us thru the menu. I came to unwind before the start of my birthday week and i ordered the chocolate cake. The cake was so dry, the ganache was flavorless, and it came with a berry sauce that was to much sauce for the cake. I ordered a ice cream with the cake and I didn't like it either.. but I could taste the fresh ingredients. As someone who knows very little about wine, I was quick to order the house-made sangria. The sangria was delightful and was exactly what I wanted. I really want to give a place that serves a wine flight like the one pictured 5 stars, but I just can't. The venue is nice with excellent outdoor seating and good ambiance. However the service is slow. Like tortoise slow. I get this is the kind of place you come to relax and likely spend a decent amount of time, but I still need them to pick up the speed. The food menu is lackluster and the cheese plate was sparse despite the $16 price tag. It's a nice place for a meet and greet, but don't go if you're really hungry and make sure you have plenty of time (like til Christmas) on your hands. The menu is pretty expansive and the staff are super knowledgeable. I have had them create a custom wine flight on many occasions and never been disappointed. They diversity of their wine selection can suit any taste and you can even invite that basic b**** friend who exclaims "I just want something fruity and sweet and white." She has to sit in the corner, but she can come. The food is also divine. I cannot stress enough how amazeballs the Artichoke dip and the apple and fig crostini are. Like, lick the plate divine. We like a nice place as much as the next guy but this place felt so pretentious. Everyone around us seemed to be regulars and some of the staff seemed snobbish. Went here to celebrate my 36th birthday not really knowing what to expect. It was just my husband and I. It was approx 9:00 on a Saturday night. We had no problem finding a seat. We were served right away and service was good. I randomly picked a red with a little help from the server, he was very knowledgeable. A quaint little wine cellar with very soothing vibes! The room was dimly lit with a fireplace and candles. We sat ourselves and were immediately greeted by Mike who was not shy to tell us of their happy hour deals and wine bottle specials. I ordered the Margherita flatbread (which was simply the best I've ever had) as well as the artichoke dip which was tasty as well. When we ran out of the bread, Mike was quick to bring crackers to finish off the dip. For wine, I ordered a bottle of the Salomon norwood shiraz cabernet 2015 that was lovely and only $35! They do wine flights, you can make your own, and they come in a cool tiered wine glass holder. They print out a sheet of what you got so you don't forget. Prices aren't bad, full glasses range from $8+, but I always get the flight (you can do 4 or 5 wines) and usually is $25-$35. They also have light bites, there is no meat. The cheeseboard is AMAZING. Met a girlfriend here for drinks after work, and was impressed from start to finish. You walk in and are immediately transported to a warm, calm, and classy interior. The place was busy - but not crowded with small groups and pairs quietly chatting. I personally find it difficult in Cincinnati to find a bar large enough to not be drowned with noise from other patrons, while still being small enough to feel intimate, however unwined was absolutely perfect. We had the waiter suggest a wine to go with the two flatbreads we ordered , which we loved!
