Meier's wine cellars is simply adorable nice cozy place with a little retail shop, the staff was very knowledgeable about their wine very friendly with their conversations with us and wines were delicious. Thank you Meier's for a great first time experience, my husband and I enjoyed ourselves

Amazing atmosphere! Very creative! Wines are really good. No bad selection. Great story. Friendly staff. Nice patio. They have food too!

If you're a fan of sweet wines, Meier's is your Mecca. If you prefer yours dry, look elsewhere. Meier's Winery is Ohio's oldest wine producer, starting back in the late 1800s. The Meier family grew grapes on the land where the Kenwood Towne Center sits today. During Prohibition, the winery began selling sparkling juice, then began wine production again in 1933. With it's roots in the juice business, it's no surprise that Meier's wines are of the sweeter variety. Today, they still sell over a dozen kinds of sparkling juice in addition to their alcohol. The inside of the Meier Wine Cellar reminded me like a German beer hall: long wooden tables, lots of large log-style support beams. Only difference is that the woods were a dark brown color rather than traditional tan, which adds to the ambiance of the room. The rest of the building is a giant open store, with bottles stacked and organized. Outside, you'll notice rows of gigantic silver silos, where all the wine is created. I've got a palate for fruity tastes and always head straight to the dessert wines in a liquor store. Meier's bottles dozens of kind of sweet wines including imports from Germany. Cindy greeted me at the door and told me all about their wines. At the front counter, there is a sheet with the name, genre, and taste description of each wine Meier's sells. This is wonderful for helping people find exactly what they need. After contemplating a few flavors, Cindy invited me to have some samples at the bar. The German white wines were my favorite, as well as the Haut Sauternes; Meier's semi-sweet white. I asked Cindy what her favorite item in the store was. She presented a bottle of Spumante Champagne, which was crisp and bubbly. I also sampled the signature Ice Wine, which tastes like a sweet mead. It comes in a small, slender bottle and costs $30.00, but if you're looking for a dessert wine to impress, this is it. White wines are the strong suit of Meier's. I tasted a few reds and was turned off by each. The best-selling Porter reminded me of the marinade for an Italian veal dish; not something I'd like to drink a glass of. The award-winning House Red tasted like cherry cough syrup. Stick with the white wines and you'll be happy. Since everything is brewed and bottled on the Meier property, they keep costs low. Bottles average between $5.99 - $7.99, which allows customers to splurge on two bottles for the price of one at a liquor store. What a deal! As I checked out, Cindy bagged my purchases in a reusable wine bag which has dividers for six bottles of wine. It's a perfect caddy for the wine tasting party I'm attending! Looking for something good at Meier? I recommend: - Haut Sauternes. Semi-sweet white. - Spatlese. Sweet white. - Auslese. Sweeter white. - Spumante. Champagne. Price per person: $6.50

Seems like they are closed when we stopped by March 2025. There were a few cars in the parking lot. Tried to call but no luck there.

I LOVE this place…read more They may single-handedly have the best margaritas in town. Tasty and strong -- just how I like them. Every time I go, the drinks are consistent and well-balanced, and they don't skimp. I usually pop in for a quick happy hour with friends or former coworkers, and it's perfect for that. So far I've had the deviled eggs and the potato latkes, and both were really good -- great little bites to pair with a margarita. The vibes are super cute, cozy, and welcoming. I cannot wait until the weather warms up so I can sit out on the patio -- it's going to be such a whole mood. The staff is always friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even better. Pro tip: if you get there around 4:30-5:00 PM, you typically won't have much of a wait. If you're in Blue Ash and want strong margaritas, cute vibes, and easy happy hour energy -- this is your spot.

Our server brought all three food dishes out at the same time, which we could not even fit on the small table without taking off some things to put on the bench next to me. The soup was tasty, but mostly large cubes of bread with practically no cheese at all. The Croque Madame had no discernible cheese on it at all. The worst part: we each requested a coffee refill (one was never offered), and our server poured half of my friend's topped up coffee directly from her cup into my cup! I was so shocked that I was speechless. To top off this incredible faux pas, she split the check into two without asking, and I was treating my friend. Instead of bringing a new check as I requested, she had me sign her tablet that just showed the total, with no breakout, had me fill in her tip, and then walked away with neither asking me if I wanted a receipt, which of course I did, nor providing me with one. The coffee thing was so gross and unsanitary that I never shall return.

However, this wasn't one of my favorite cheese bars in town. The cheeses were good but nothing special and the food pairings on the cheese board didn't seem to go that well with what was given. We paid $20 for a 4 cheese board which came with a few marcona almonds, green olives, Sweety Drop peppers, and bread with a mustard spread and fig Jam. We aren't allowed to pick the cheeses but rather they pick for you. I felt for the hard cheeses we had, we needed better food pairings and I was expecting more spreadable cheeses for the bread. They do have a crumbly cheese that has mustard seeds in it which was unique and delicious. I wish they had made some cheeses in house that could taste more fresh and would be unique to that place. They were also understaffed for a Saturday evening as there was a long line to place your order and the cheese board took really long to finally come out. We didn't have anyone check back in with us anytime after our board came out to see if we needed anything more like water, bread, had questions, etc... it could have been just that night, but we just didn't get the same attention we do in some other places like this. I've gone to Urban Stead and felt the quality of the cheeses were better and their boards are cheaper for what you get in terms of amount of cheese. We had enough from the one board with 5 cheeses to fill us up. They also interacted a ton more while we were there and the cheeses are so fresh since they make them all in-house. I'm glad I tried this place out as I've always passed by and wanted to try it out. It's located in Pleasant Ridge which is central for the Cincinnati area and it is around the corner from Nine Giants brewing. We read about some of the specials they have during the week so I'm willing to try it again when it might not be as busy.

Walked in and loved the laid back feel. Simple decor and open. Easy to order! We looked over the menu and decided to get the 4 cheese and 4 meats for $35.00. Picked a bottle of red for $23.00 (Portuguese). We felt that it was versatile and would go with any cheese. You are able to get it by the glass or if you don't feel like wine, they do sell craft beers in the fridge. You can pick your cheese if you like. There were two that caught our eye that we had to request the four alarm cheddar cheese (jalapeño, chipotle, habanero and ghost peppers) and Dragon's breath but it's soft blue cheese with spices and hints of mustard. They do not make the cheese in house. Their cheese are imported from all over the world. Very great selection in my opinion. With your cheese tray, you do get bread, olives and nuts and preserves. When we receive our tray, we were truly impressed! Cheese, bread, meats were fresh and presentable. They went well with our wine. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Besides our great experience, they do offer specials. Happy hour on Friday's, Wednesday's are flight and bites, Thursday's are sandwich nights. They also cater! 1. Parmesan-Crusted Pork Chop This plate came out looking…read moreserious. The pork chops had that golden, crunchy sear that lets you know the chef didn't cheat the pan. The crust is seasoned well, giving each bite a savory crunch before you hit the juicy center. The sauce on the bottom adds flavor but also runs a little thin, so it doesn't cling as much as you'd expect. The mashed potatoes are smooth, and those crispy fried onions on top add the right texture. Solid, comforting, and flavorful -- just needed a thicker reduction to tighten the plate. 2. Gnocchi with Braised Short Rib Sauce This dish is exactly what comfort food wants to be when it grows up. The gnocchi is soft, pillowy, and coated in a rich, slow-simmered sauce that tastes like somebody took their time building layers. You get a blend of tomato, parmesan, herbs, and that short rib flavor that carries the whole bowl. It's heavy -- in a good way -- and every bite feels like fall weather in a bowl. Definitely one of the stronger dishes. 3. Parmesan-Crusted Chicken with Green Beans & Tomato Relish The chicken is fried to that perfect "crisp but not greasy" level. The parmesan crust gives it a nutty, salty pop, while the tomato pieces add freshness to cut through the richness. The shredded parmesan on top melts just enough to tie everything together. The green beans are cooked right -- not soggy, still with a snap. The side dish (mac & cheese, most likely) is creamy with a buttery breadcrumb top that adds the right crunch. Overall, a well-balanced plate. 4. Spaghetti & Meatballs This is classic Italian comfort done the Cooper's Hawk way. The sauce is thick, tangy, and bright with tomato flavor. The meatballs are tender and seasoned well, and the touch of ricotta on top softens the acidity and makes the sauce creamy as you mix it in. The pasta is cooked right -- not mushy, not stiff, easy to twirl. Simple, hearty, and dependable. Overall Impression Cooper's Hawk came through with a table full of comfort and richness. Everything was plated well, seasoned properly, and cooked with intention. The standout dishes are the gnocchi and the parmesan-crusted chicken, but nothing on the table missed the mark.

We tried the Grilled Mahi sandwich ($17.99) and the Soup & Sandwich combo ($19.99). A glass of wine was $11 and a soft drink was $4.99. $70 with tax and tip. The term "upscale" seems to have become a euphemism for "more expensive than you thought it was going to be". I rated it 3 stars for several reasons. First, the food tasted very salty, almost to the point of us sending it back but we didn't because we had been waiting almost 30 minutes and were hungry. The slow service was reason two. Reason three was the price point. Five bucks for a coke? Twenty bucks for a soup and sandwich? The food was OK but the value just wasn't there. And reason four was the noise level. It was so loud I couldn't take an incoming cell phone call. Having said all that, they didn't seem to be hurting for business on a Friday afternoon so all I can say is it seems there are a lot of people out there who really like the place. If you're one of them, I think you'll find this Coopers Hawk a great place for lunch or dinner.
