The Yard was a beautiful restaurant that I had the pleasure of visiting during a trip to downtown Cincinnati. We were seated promptly, and our server took our order just as quickly, making for a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. I ordered the steak Philly, and it was absolutely delicious definitely one of the best I've had. The flavors were outstanding, and it was cooked perfectly. I only wish The Yard had a location in my hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. If it did, I'd be a regular and would make it my mission to try every item on the menu. We were visiting Newport from Ohio and stopped at Yard House to try it out. We loved the downtown Cincinnati scene but struggled to locate parking (looked for a garage) but then we located a spot on the street. Get the Espresso Martini!! It was one of the best that I've had in a while. Very strong but delicious. The Korean Cheesesteak had distinct flavor and was delicious. The Whiskey Salmon was sweet and flaky which we love and we requested loaded potatoes which was a nice touch. However, we believe the stars of the show were the appetizers of choice which were Miguel's Queso Dip with ground beef and a bowl of Chicken Tortilla soup - neither of these are pictured but take my word for it...the BEST! Overall we enjoyed dinner but will say that our server was very dry and lacked personality. It appeared as if he was ready to leave for the day lol! But we didn't allow it to ruin our time. The food came out fast with the exception of the calamari and our server Tinky was great and attentive. I ordered the espresso martini and pink dragon margarita and I was highly satisfied with both. The espresso martini being my favorite! I also ordered the edamame, the carnivore pizza, and the calamari. Im not a big fan of mushrooms but tried the shiitake Noodles and I loved it. My group of nine people ate here for lunch doing a break from visiting museums. We only had to wait a few minutes for the staff to set up tables to accommodate our large group. Our server was AMAZING! She was friendly, down to earth, talkative and served our large group without help from other staff. Our drink orders and food orders were all correct. There were no mistakes or changes at all. Like I said our server was amazing. For instance, our group had a 91 yr old lady, whom the server treated especially well. All of the dishes were presented well, the portion sizes were adequate-to-large and the flavors were delicious. No one in our party had any complaints or concerns at all. Yard House was amazing! We went on a Friday night and were told there was a wait but were seated within 5 minutes. Our server was awesome and knowledgeable about the menu. My boyfriend and I decided on the "half yard" drinks which were 32 oz. I got a fruity cider and he got a beer. They were both delicious. The menu was huge with a ton of options. We got the chicken nachos as an appetizer. It was a great portion and so delicious. Multiple sauces and toppings. We each got a burger with a side. I had the pepper jack burger with garlic parm fries. They were both incredible. My boyfriend had the bbq cheddar bacon burger with onion rings. Also both delicious. My friend and I came here for dinner the day after Thanksgiving. She has several serious allergies including tree nut, celiacs, and dairy. Or server, Kanada, and the manager (sorry, didn't catch his name) both went above and beyond to accommodate her dietary needs. From showing her how to access the gluten free menu on the table tablet, to confirming ingredients with the kitchen before putting in her order. Plus Kanada was super sweet and friendly. I liked my experience with Yard House! I've been inside to eat before but finally ordered take out today and enjoyed it. The iced tea was fresh, and the food was warm and correct when given to me. I ordered the Mac and cheese and the edamame and both were great. The service was fast and friendly, and the ambiance was fine while I was picking the food up. The food was also ready at the exact time I had ordered it for so I didn't have to wait around. It was a little pricey but it was worth it for the portion sizes. It's good to know how to time that this is one of those places that is always high traffic. Always tons of people going in and out. It's close to the stadiums and when there are games happening and whenever there is a festival like pride or Oktoberfest, it's going to be slammed. So we did try to come here during one of the festivals and even though it was busy like crazy, we did get in within about 40 minutes. The staff seems to be doing their very best with all the crowds. But our server Lauren was amazing and she made sure that we were taking care of. We were always made to feel that she was there if we needed her. Food was actually pretty good. I would consider a place like this to probably not be always good with the food because they're just relying on high traffic but it's been good both times have been here. Had a nice dinner with some coworkers at Yard House last night. It was easy walking from downtown. It was nice and cool inside. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had some people arrive later but she kept coming over to offer drinks and food throughout. I enjoyed my watermelon margarita and there's of course a nice selection of beers. This place is located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. We had a large party of 11 people during the week and it was not very crowded. The service was below par, but they were very nice (drinks took a long time or had to be asked for a couple times). They had great appetizer specials until 6:30 and that came out super fast, and we actually got the apps before any of our drinks??? I got the Spicy Jambalaya and the dish was pretty good! For dessert, got the bread pudding which comes with ice cream and it was average (not my favorite). They have a full bar with a TON of beers on tap which was impressive. We could not make a reservation on this Saturday night but we did find out after we got there you could text ahead and get on the waitlist. That is what we would do next time but this time we just got in line and waited luckily we got there early at 5:00 p.m. for dinner and the wait wasn't too long. Our waiter came by and introduced himself and took our drink order while we looked at the menu. I ordered a peach martini and the hubby ordered a beer. My drink was good and sweet. We placed our dinner order and then the long long wait began. It took a little over an hour for our order to come out. When our meal finally made it to the table it was good. For dinner I ordered the Ahi Tuna crunch salad and the Brussels appetizer and my hubby ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Other than the long wait for the food to come out I would definitely recommend this place. Located within eye shot of the Great American Ball Park (Cincinnati Reds) and Paycom Stadium (Cincinnati Bengals), the Yard House is a watering hole for devotes before the game opening at 11am and after the game closing at 11 pm. Choose from 100 beers on tap while listing to classic rock. Their food menu is EXTENSIVE and includes vegetarian options. It's mostly American fare. Happy Hour features deep discounts on food and drinks. All that said, I was here at 11 am just to get out of the rain. I was walking around the Banks area taking in the sights when the rain came pouring down and nothing else was open. So after being seated, I ordered a Yuengling draft ($3.75) in a completely empty bar/restaurant area and Poke Nachos ($16.49). Yuengling beer is my favorite and the Poke Nachos were fresh, properly seasoned and loaded with a variety of vegetables including avocado.. Both got small dinner salads which were large. I got the Tuna which were giant and my wife got the chicken kale caesar. Came here with a group of 8 late afternoon and were easily seated. This restaurant is right near the river so views out the windows are gorgeous. And if you don't care about the views outside, there's plenty of sports that can be watched on the tv screens. One of the best parts of eating here was the service of our server Anthony, super attentive and friendly. I got the double decker blt sandwich, very yummy- bacon was cooked perfectly, only had a little trouble with it falling apart as I tried to eat it. My dad got the cheesesteak and thought it was pretty good, except there was a piece of fat that made it in. Talking bout I'm going to sit you here is that okay & I asked were booths at the opposite end open since another person enjoying a solo lunch was also sitting on that end. She stated again I have to sit you here. Once she seen I wasn't feeling it, she moved me. But idk why she acted like it was such an inconvenience in the first place. I could see if the restaurant was overly busy, but that wasn't the case. Had she explained the section was closed or something I would've understood, but it clearly was not as another table got sat in that same section a few minutes later. My server was pretty cool tho. Date night with friends. Great atmosphere. Nice location. We had to wait for a bit for our party of 4 to get seated, even though there were PLENTY of open tables. Hostess was not very friendly and acted very put out when we asked for a table with better air flow on a super hot day. We actually had to wait longer since we wanted a different table. Our server was an older lady and was SUPER NICE. She was the friendliest person there. Service was a little slow because she had so many tables, but we didn't mind because she was so nice.
