Yes Longhorn is a steakhouse. No, I did not order one. I ordered their wings and I'm happy with my decision. I was not in the mood for steak as my other guest were, so I gave their wings a try and they did not disappoint. I prefer getting my wings plain, no matter where I'm at, as well as extra crispy. The sauce can sometimes take away from the crispness so I order my sauce on the side. It also allows you to see if their wings have actual flavor or if they rely solely on their sauces. The wings can definitely stand on their own. They came out just as I ordered with a bold flavor that highlighted their seasoning skills. There was almost no need for the buffalo sauce I ordered along with them. Side note: Both my fiancé and son ordered steaks and they were pleased with the quality of them. Popped in here for dinner with the extended family while in town. we were a party of eight, and rather easily got seated on a Tuesday evening. I normally really enjoy Longhorn, but the food was unfortunately just OK. I ordered my usual, which is the salmon. Because I was feeling like treating myself, I added the roasted mushrooms that is available as a topper for steaks, and I added a side of the crispy brussels sprouts. Unfortunately, my salmon was completely overcooked. Both the top and bottom were brown, inverse the inside was dry. I normally like my salmon cooked medium, and Longhorn is one of two restaurants where I've never needed to make that distinction in order for it to come out that way. However, tonight was different. The mushrooms were extremely salty, which was surprising to me as I tend to like saltiness... but this was salt overdone. The one thing that I thought was tasty, was the one bite that I had of someone else's steakhouse wings. That said, I could imagine that if I was eating a full order of them, they may have been over seasoned. As usual, the restaurant is well canceled, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I recently visited LongHorn Steakhouse at 9681 Colerain Ave in Cincinnati, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing due to poor attention to detail from our server and lack of management accountability. My son and I both specifically requested Parmesan crusted entrées -- I ordered the lamb chops and my son ordered the salmon. When our food arrived, neither entrée had the Parmesan crust. Our server later admitted she forgot to enter the request in the system. Because of this mistake, my son had to send his salmon back to the kitchen to have the Parmesan crust added. I chose not to send my lamb chops back because I was uncomfortable doing so. As someone who comes from the culinary industry myself, I know how frustrating it can be for kitchen staff when plates are returned due to server order-entry mistakes. We also asked if our bread could be Parmesan crusted, and the server stated they do not do that. However, two days prior I visited the LongHorn at 9141 Fields Ertel Rd and enjoyed Parmesan-crusted bread, which is also widely shared on social media. A manager came to our table and acknowledged hearing about the issue, but the interaction lacked empathy and professionalism. Rather than offering a meaningful solution, she simply asked if there was something she could do -- which felt like the responsibility to fix the problem was placed on the guest instead of management taking initiative. To make matters worse, this was my son's first experience at LongHorn, and unfortunately it did not reflect the brand's usual standards. Let me just start off by saying that if you ever want a good steak, you don't always have to go to a fancy steakhouse to get one. Longhorn has some of the BEST steaks! But last night I got the salmon meal with brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. So funny because when the waiter came out with my plate, he told me he didn't even want to give it to me because it looked so good. He wasn't lying. I got the salmon blackened and it was cooked perfectly! The brussels sprouts was so good. There's only one other place I love their sprouts and Longhorn is definitely competition. The mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery and the mac and cheese was on fire! I got it without the bacon, but if you love bacon, it'll be just as good. It was super cheesy and very flavorful. We sat at the bar, and the waiter was really nice. I got a Maker's Mark on the rocks and the pour was great! Very friendly atmosphere. I always enjoy going there. read more

Okay, before I get called a Karen for expressing my true opinion, if you are squeamish toward long reviews, look away. For starters, was told that the wait would only be 30 minutes. 30 minutes was farther off than a 90 year old grandpa trying to hit a golf shot accurately. Wait was at least 50 minutes. Bare minimum. On top of that, I had to bring my grandchild back to his parents house by 7:00 pm. Got in at about 6:00. To be fair, this was the day after Valentine's Day. I expected a decent wait but not this long. There was also a birthday, which added to both the wait and noise. Once we finally actually got seated, it was past 6:30 already. After that, we had practicality given up. We started a timer and eventually started seeing groups getting their food. These groups had sat down AFTER US! And, to make matters worse, on top of the 50 minute wait to get seated, there was yet another 45 minute wait to get our food. After our food FINALLY arrives, we instantly realize something was wrong. First of all, I ordered a chop steak, (medium well) and this "steak" was about as dark as fresh asphalt, and it looked like it as well. My friend who had come with me ordered a salad, and was very clear she did not want dressing on the side. That was about the only part that was almost right. They gave her the vinaigrette, plus some extra on the side. And I swear, the smell of vinegar was strong enough to kill a pilgrim. Then, my grandson who ordered a 6 oz sirloin, medium rare, cuts into his steak. He takes a bite and realizes they gave him well done. He described the taste as a mix of gasoline, tire rubber, and sawdust. Overall, just disappointed in them. I hope they will do better next time. read more

It's been over a decade since I've been to a longhorn. We were visiting some friends in the area and they wanted to dine here for lunch. I have to say I was impressed with the restaurant inside. It was open and clean. Although they were busy for lunch, our server was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the Salmon (with a bourbon glaze) and instead of the rice, I subbed it for mashed potatoes. I paired it with a Pinot Noir. My Mr. ordered the lunch special 7 pepper steak salad with a side of the Shrimp & Lobster chowder. Since they were busy, it took a little longer to get the food. But it was worth the wait! The salmon was very flaky and loved the mashed potatoes. My Mr really enjoyed his meal. Even my friends were satisfied, but they usually come here often since they live nearby. Overall, it was a great experience. I like that you can pay at the table scanning the code on the receipt and can leave gratuity with it. I can see myself coming back again. read more

It's been a very long time since I've been to a Longhorn, and honestly, I don't tend to seek them out. But my lady and I had some friends in the area who wanted to meet us for lunch so we went to this one. Overall, I have to admit it was pretty good. The food was better than I'd expected, the service was nice, and the atmosphere was exactly how you'd expect. Texas-y. The four of us went on a Saturday around 1pm and they were a bit busy. Even then, we were sat right away, and our server was at our table immediately. I remember their menu being larger before, but I can understand why places scale back their menus, which can be a good thing most times. My lady ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and a glass of pinot noir. I went with the 7 pepper steak salad and a side of shrimp and lobster chowder. Since it was busy, we did wait a little longer than usual, but not super long. When all our food came out, everything looked really good. My lady really enjoyed her salmon and said it paired well with her wine. I liked the steak salad but thought it was a little TOO peppery towards the end, to where I hardly tasted the steak. The chowder was rather tasty though. For a chain restaurant, Longhorn overall is alright. We had Shawn as our perfect server who was outstanding in customer service and the ideal host. He knew when to arrive at the table and to remain his distance as we were in positive communication. Were were seated at a round table as requested which allowed to have plenty of space and room and the food and drinks were on target! We appreciated his ability to have our credit card for the duration of our chatting and meal, with the bill becoming a no issue at the conclusion of the meal. I come here and order the same meal each time. Today I decided to bring my cousin who's never been here. The service was HORRIBLE from time I walked in until the I left. Brian S. Greeted me. The server stated that she was new and was insure how to make salads. There was dressing standing in the bottom of the bowl! The bread was hard at he drink was too sweet. When our dinner arrived, my cousin's steak was rare and well. She asked for extra butter and no sour cream. That came with extra sour. My salmon was under good and the fatty end and not seasoned. I enjoy longhorn so my review might be a little bias since there wasn't any where i lived in California. I been going at least once every few weeks since I've moved back. I can't speak for the service because I get to go everytime. I usually get a parmesan crusted rib eye, or parm crusted chicken or salmon with loaded mashed potatoes & some kinda of green vegetables. the sides are mild honestly, but they come with the meal so i have to get them. I've never had a problem with my steak, chicken or salmon though. It's not a high end steak house but it's decent for what it is. I'm going to dine in one of these days to see what the service is actually like & adjust my review accordingly. read more

My wife and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary (during the quarantine) by ordering from LongHorn Steakhouse. Unfortunately, to say the food was a disappointment would be an understatement. In fact, our food partially ruined our anniversary. We had ordered 2 full racks of baby back ribs with fries (plus sauce on the side), 2 side/house salads and 2 orders of chicken wings. I picked up the food from the young lady in the front and asked if everything was in the bag. She assured me everything was included, while I checked the receipt. I got home and the problems began. The ribs were boiled, pale and barely done. Somehow, the kitchen cook only seared the top of a half of the baby back rack of rib. The other half of the rib was underneath the rib...and lacking in every facet of a "good" rib. I have had average to good ribs before...but this was just lazy and inexcusable. The fries were cold and sparse. The salads were lifeless and mushy. The only good things from the meal were the chicken wings and the bread. However, they forgot the ranch and bleu cheese dressing for our two orders. In most cases, I would have understood a restaurant having an off day or just a difficult time. But I honestly cannot justify halfway making food that is on the border of inedibility, missing items and in general, bad taste. I have NEVER been so disappointed in a restaurant in a very, very LONG time. We've spent $70 on a meal which wasn't fit for eating and ultimately ruined our anniversary. If you value great tasting food worth the money, avoid this restaurant. You've been warned. read more

I came here as a special treat to myself for my birthday. I walked in for a late lunch and the place wasn't busy. I had to wait a few minutes for the hostess to seat me. While I was waiting, a crowd did form behind me. Once I was a seated, my waiter came and took my drink order and asked if I wanted bread. He was very attentive. I ordered the renegade sirloin with mashed potatoes. I asked for it to be medium and the waiter confirmed that the steak would be pink. I appreciate the attentiveness to the steak doneness every time I come to Long Horn. The food came out pretty quickly and was made to order. The steak was medium and delicious as always! I also ordered a dessert - chocolate peanut butter jar. I docked a star because the dessert wasn't as pictured and was just okay. I normally get the chocolate stampede cake, but didn't due to size (feeds 2 people +) - even though it's so good. Overall, service was excellent and the main course was really good. Filet was amazing, salmon not cooked thoroughly, the asparagus was tough and undercooked as well. Waitress offered nothing to substitute however she did take off the additional charge for the additional side charge. Salad was wilted and bitter, again no offer to replace or any compensation.. overall, not a good experience. Would not go back. For a chain restaurant, I find the environment and food to be well done. Yes, these are the best steaks you can find but they are half the price of a high end steakhouse. My steak has always been cooked as ordered and the sides are good. Portion sizes are what you'd expect. I would love to see some lower cost, non-steak options but in the end I understand they are a steak restaurant. My only issue is the service is typically just ok at best. This recent visit was a great example of that as the server was not engaging at all. The order was taken and delivered and that's about all. After getting seated we waited for our waiter for about 7 minutes so we decided to order everything from appetizer to entrees plus drinks. Our wait time for food was absolutely ridiculous! They served our appetizer to the wrong table and told us "it was on the fly" and we still didn't get it after our entree was served to us. I would give this place zero starts if it wasn't for our server (she was amazing by the way). I was having a church get together for the holidays with some of elderly women from my church. I tried calling multiple times to let the restaurant know that I was running late but no one ever answered the phone. When I arrived to the restaurant, hostess were standing around chatting and I saw that my party had not been seated. The reason they were given for not seated was because "our full party was not present." Which I fully understand but during us waiting to be seated, the manager and hostess decided to seat people that's full parties we're not currently present. I showed her my email with the correct restaurant address and her response was "well I don't see it on my end" and then just stared at me. I understand wait times, under staffing, and dealing with the public. However, I followed instructions and was never rude so being met with this level of attitude when LongHorn is the one not honoring their side of the arrangement just irks me to no end. read more
