    Chilaquiles - SALTY and OVERPRICED
    Joshua P.

As a foodie, I'm usually excited to explore new spots and this dinner had some highs and rock-bottom lows. The Cowboy Ribeye and Tomahawk steak were fantastic. They were perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the broccolini and potatoes were great sides. The Chilaquiles were a complete disaster. The waitress sold them hard, so we decided to give them a try, but they were ridiculously salty. One bite and it was like your taste buds were completely overwhelmed with salt. The chips had a strange, almost Dorito-like flavor, but not as good as Doritos and between the 4 of us we couldn't finish the dish. To top it off, these awful Chilaquiles were priced at $68, which is basically the cost of the Tomahawk steak! It was so frustrating, especially since it was my friend's birthday dinner. It completely killed the vibe and left us all with a bad taste, literally and figuratively. I'll be back for the steaks, but I'll be skipping that overpriced, inedible mess next time.. TL:DR - The Chef Special-- Chilaquiles are terrible and incredibly overpriced. Do not get them!

I give this quaint little place an A plus for effort. I love that they greet you with a glass of champagne. The menu is a little pricey so good for a special night out.

Loved this restaurant! My husband and I had the filet and it was so good! Go for the bigger size! Cocktails were delicious! Can't complain it was all delicous!

We visited Lonely Pine for my birthday dinner and I'm so glad we did! Upon entering, we were offered a small glass of champagne, which really set the mood. The restaurant itself is a little dark and moody, and decorated nicely with mid-century vibes. The old fashioneds were perfect, and the pimento cheese appetizer was delicious. I had the petite waygu 8 oz; it was tender and cooked perfectly. I ended up taking half home though because I was so full from all the sides. I did the asparagus and zucchini veggies sides; the asparagus was amazing but the zucchini was just okay. We also did the crispy potatoes and Gouda Mac and cheese for the table. The potatoes had a great flavor but were maybe just a little overcooked for my taste. The Mac and cheese was excellent.

I visited Lonely Pine in combination with the Christmas pop-up next door. They have the same owner, and I'll tell you the entire experience from start to finish was stellar! Upon walking in, we were greeted with a champagne toast and led to our table. The service was amazing, attentive, and very friendly. The food was very delicious. I got the broccolini as an appetizer and the filet mignon, macaroni, and fingerling potatoes for my entree. The steak was prepared perfectly, and the macaroni was literally some of the best restaurant macaroni I tasted! It was really hard not to order a second order! I finished my meal with the tres leche cake which was also good. I do wish it were a little sweeter, though. Overall, without the pop-up next door, I wouldn't have known this place existed, but now that I do, I'll certainly seek it out again!

A well run experience with a single fault. This the second time for me here. Brought a friend because the first experience was darn near perfect. Service was great, oyster were tasty with the addition of craft breads. Tried the Bone marrow and was pleased with the new flavor. The photo of the filet is from my first visit.. perfect temperature for me (rare). This time around the filet was over cooked (mid rare) not rare. I did not send it back but was less than enthused. Everything else was perfect.

Ask the Community - The Lonely Pine Steakhouse

    Is there a kids menu?

No, but all menu items are child approved! Mine is a huge fan of the noodles.

    Can you split steaks?

My friend and I split a small steak just to taste as we were there for oysters. The couple next to us got the porterhouse which was huge and they split it.

I found myself halfway through the signature burger, marveling at the assembly--not a bolt out of place, everything in its proper station and the lettuce crisp as a cold-rolled steel sheet. A man appreciates a system that functions without chatter or delay. Sitting here near the assembly plant's ghost, I couldn't help but admire the vintage fittings; they've managed to capture the spirit of progress without the clutter of modern inefficiency. My wife has a constitution that demands specific care, and the server handled her requirements with the precision of a master machinist, wasting no time on unnecessary pleasantries but delivering exactly what was ordered. The restrooms, surprisingly, have a sense of humor, though humor is a luxury I generally leave to the salesmen. It is a good price for an honest meal, constructed with a respect for speed that would make a production line foreman nod in approval. It is a well-oiled operation and I shall return to see if they can maintain this level of output." And normal: From the moment i stepped in... the atmosphere hit me like a wave. It was a perfect blend of vintage charm and modern sophistication with antiques that told stories of a bygone era. The restrooms while quirky, added a unique touch to the experience. What truly stood out was the service. It was swift and efficient, with our server going above and beyond to accommodate my wife's allergies. Grant our server did amazing job ! I ordered the Ford signature burger, and it was an absolute masterpiece. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the quality was exceptional. The presentation was top-notch, and the speed at which it arrived was impressive. This was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and i couldn't be more satisfied with my dining experience. Overall, Ford's Garage is a must-visit for anyone looking for a high-quality, efficient, and enjoyable meal. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is truly special. i highly recommend this place to anyone who loves food and wants to experience a unique dining experience. - Atmosphere: 9/10 - Food Quality: 9/10 - Service/Flow: 10/10 - Value: 8/10 - Would Return: Yes. To start this place is a "sit down" but you have to order at the bar and they bring it to you. We were a tad thrown off with that since they literally had waiters and people roaming around, didn't make sense to me. But that was just the start! We decided to order nachos and a pretzel to start the meal. The pretzel was disgusting, hard and lacking flavor and the $14 nachos was a side plate with a small portion of nachos on it. I asked the server what was with the size of the nachos and he said he though they were normal. They aren't, you go to a normal bar and for $14 comes out a platter with nachos that are loaded. Then our mains came out, my wife's salad was gross, lacking flavor and with dry chicken and my burger was decent. For $90 this meal should have been WAYYY better. We left feeling very disappointed and will definitely not be coming back.

Let me just say there's a reason they've been here so long. They keep their restaurant clean, the staff is so pleasant, immediate service and the food is even better than I remember. Our server was Elly-so sorry if I misspelled your name sweetie! Lol Elly was adorable, funny, kind, very caring-all the good adjectives-and a UC student to boot! We thoroughly enjoyed her personality and service! She told us she was new there and let me say she might have been new but seemed like a seasoned pro! I ordered the Cobb salad and asked for light blue cheese and ranch instead of vinaigrette and Elly was so thoughtful and brought the cheese on the side so I could add what I want. It did not disappoint! Everything was fresh! The eggs were boiled perfectly! The chicken was flavorful and tender! Hubby got the Sunday special which was Chicken Pesto Pasta with the most delicious garlic bread! (I tasted it ) He normally never eats the bread that comes with meals but after tasting it he gobbled it down. Bummer-I would have gladly eaten it for him He loved the dish too and said it was delicious and tasted very flavorful, not salty at all. The couple we went with ordered Fish and Chips (substituted regular fries for sweet potato fries) and he loved every bite. He said the Cod was perfectly cooked, moist and flaky on the inside and had a crispy crunch on the outside. He loved whatever seasoning was on his fries. It looked like it might have been fresh finely chopped parsley with something else but he said it was very flavorful and added a nice touch. His wife got the Sunday special as well with a gluten bun instead of the garlic bread. She loved her meal. We couldn't go without getting some cheesecake to go for later! Sometimes the old restaurants that have been a favorite and a neighborhood staple need a shout out and recognized for their food, service and dedication to their customers. I'm a nut for French Onion soup and this one is legit (see picture). This was the pick three deal with soup/salad/sandwich. I like a meal that ends up with leftovers so this was a solid deal. It's not the most charming of ambiance because we sat outside, so basically had a view of the parking lot. Inside might have been better but there's only like three days in Cincinnati where you can sit outside comfortably so we ended up on the sidewalk. I don't know if I'd necessarily make it part of my rotation, but I was impressed with the service, the food, and the pricing, so I'd definitely throw it out there as an option if I'm in the area.
