Let me me start off by saying that I really don't like writing negative reviews. But.... I was really hoping for a nice evening at an elegant restaurant and what I got was an overpriced meal that I could've had in the food court of a mall. The steak was dry, over cooked, and lacked flavor. The salmon was overly seasoned and over done. Waited 20 minutes to have a server speak to us - she then forgot our beverages. Didn't come back to the table to check on us - had to flag her down for our check. The atmosphere was very nice looking however the Wendy's beverages on the bar back counter and fast food laying everywhere made it unappealing. Initially we were so excited to order dessert as we overheard the server explaining the options to a table and then we realized with the quality of our food as it was we didn't want to risk spending more for even more disappointment. The hostess when we first came in was not a happy camper and did not give a good first impression. This was my favorite steakhouse at one time. I'm sure the chef is not the same as a few years ago but this place sure went downhill. I had dinner here with friends last night. They no longer have blue cheese olives for the dirty martini. No biggie but disappointing. My one friend ordered the warm spinach salad which seemed like it was just taken out of the refrigerator. The Final Cut steakhouse is located in a casino and we seemed to have hit the jackpot on this occasion. We found ourselves here after snagging a fantastic offer on CincySavers back in December and after it was all said and done, I would definitely go back for more. The steak filet I ordered was cooked to perfection and the sides were scrumptious. I've seen mixed reviews but to me it seemed like this place was on par with other steakhouses in the area if not better. The service was prompt and friendly and atmosphere was well suited to the "Hollywood" vibe that the casino is named after. Pictures of stars of a bygone era festuned on the walls make you feel as if you're in a swanky restaurant even if you know they have never dined there. I would definitely go back to celebrate a special occasion but just would appreciate if the menu was updated on the casinos website as there were some dishes that were altered or were not available at the time of dining. read more

Upon researching Final Cut restaurants I was under the impression that it would be similar to Ruth's Chris; a white-tablecloth, a la carte, business casual restaurant. It's not. Grantville's Final Cut is the affordable version of Ruth's Chris food. The food was absolutely amazing! The menu was very limited, but I like that since it greatest the chances of continuous practice for the cooks to master their craft. Not to mention it makes it a lot easier to choose your meal. Our meals came with pre-selected sides. A typical Final Cut steak in any other location is It was kind of chaotic trying to get a table. They do not take reservations, nor do they have a wait list. They don't have a hostess stand...I'm not even sure they have a hostess working. There was one person (seemed to be a server) that was back and forth and basically directing traffic. All in all food is a 10 out of 10. Service is good. If you're looking for a fine dining experience this isn't it. If you are going for great food at a very good price then go here. read more

Seating was prompt. 4 of us went for dinner on a Saturday night with a reservation. We ordered a 20 oz NY Strip, 12 oz NY strip, 12 oz filet and 6 oz filet, all were requested to be cooked to medium. We ordered whipped potatoes, asparagus and corn as our sides and added a bottle of Simi to pair with our steaks. Food came out in a timely manner, the 20 and 12 oz strips were very overcooked, they were well done instead of medium, tough to eat and tasteless. The filets were cooked perfectly with an incredible crust on the outside. The sides were all delicious and the Simi was a perfect pairing. We ended up sharing the filets with our dates so they could enjoy the flavor. This place is located inside Hollywood Casino. It's popular for regulars in the casino. I always like coming here especially if I'm invited by someone who's paying the bill. We were a party of four, celebrating my cousin's birthday. When we arrived we were immediately seated, and a wait staff took our drink orders right away. All the wait staff were polite, helpful with us when we're all trying to decide what to order. We decided for appetizers for a start- pork belly, crab cake and shrimp cocktail- it's small serving, but I thinks it's just perfect since its something to help stave off our hunger while waiting for our entree. I ordered a 16 oz ribeye which for the price it's not as good as I expected. Other people in my party ordered shrimp Alfredo and 2 other sea food entrees which according to them were delicious. In addition to my entree, I ordered a glass of moscato, it was served in a champagne glass which I think is tiny for me because I want my big glass of wine- it's worth $8. Regardless of the price, I enjoyed it tremendously since I did not pay for it. I want to rate the place 5 stars, but because your order of main dish does not come with a side, I will stay with my 4 stars. My family and I used to go to Final Cut quite a bit. The last time we went, in Oct 2021, it was not as enjoyable. First of all, the menu options are very limited now. They got rid of the yummy tomato bisque/grilled cheese appetizer and the sliders. The employees couldn't wait to get rid of us, I guess, because they kept coming over and trying to get us to leave. We wanted to take home some of the yummy leftover pretzel bread...nope, they whisked it away without even asking. The to-go containers are flimsy, and they got rid of the nice fabric bags. There's not even a dessert menu, the server rattles off a list quickly. These may seem like trivial complaints, but, all in all, it adds up to disappointment. read more

My husband and I frequent this restaurant often. We typically order steak with a side, and shrimp cocktail. If you are a lover of salmon it's to die for. The host staff are always friendly. This review is long overdue. First, let me begin by saying that my wife and I have frequented this establishment many times over the past six years. We are not gamblers, so we do not expect "comps." Over the course of those six years, we have no doubt spent several thousands of dollars in the restaurant, including gatherings with my staff and their families, friends and many many romantic dinners with my wife. My last visit will unfortunately be my last. We had in the past noticed a consistent decline in the quality of the food and steaks, and hit or miss service, but always acceptable. The last visit, we were greeted with snarling scowl by one of the waitresses, Paige, immediately as we walked through the entrance. I thought nothing of it at first. After about 15 minutes, we were introduced to our server, who turned out to be Paige. We had never seen her there before and had never met her. It was unclear to my wife and I if she possibly mistook us for another couple, perhaps a couple that she for some reason strongly disliked? But I digress... She began by reading the specials in somewhat of a rude tone and her mannerisms suggested she wanted to be somewhere else. I ordered a large NY strip and my wife had filet and crab. My wife and I ordered a draft beer (12oz). There was an approximate 15 minute delay to get our drinks. With our appetizer, I ordered a second 12oz beer. This, too, took at least 15 minutes, and actually came out after the dinner. I at that point went ahead and ordered a third beer, considering how long it was taking. By the way, we were there on a weekday night, and they were not at all busy. When I attempted to order the third beer, Paige hastily stated that we were "cut off." I very politely said, "excuse me, did we offend you somehow, or were we getting belligerent by whispering to each other quietly in our booth?" (This after I had drank ONE full 12oz beer). She said no, but it was at her discretion and "after all this is a casino." I was dumbfounded by her comment and frankly embarrassed. Ultimately I think she was just too lazy to walk a few steps to the bar. She remained very rude, and we asked for the manager. The manager quickly apologized and got us another server and a drink, which I promptly declined. There was never an apology from the rude waitress for her behavior or actions. Our meal was somewhere in the $200 range, so one would hope not to have this type of experience. This on top of consistently declining food quality, and they have lost my business. I caution anyone before going to this establishment, and consider taking your business elsewhere. read more

I'm a big Jeff Ruby's fan, and didn't expect the Final Cut Steakhouse would measure up. Pleasantly surprised! The steaks were VERY good, cooked perfectly, and generous cuts. Sides were very good as well...recommend the assortment of sauteed mushrooms. For an app, I had the stuffed mushrooms which were some of the best I've had. Very elegant atmosphere for a midwest casino steakhouse. Pricey, but that was somewhat expected since they have a captive audience of casino go-ers. Service was top notch, too. Visited on Sweetest day (10/18/15) and was very disappointed. We frequent many high end steakhouses and this was by far the worst. Sub par service, over cooked steaks with no flavor, yet still you pay a premium price. I won't be back for a second visit. I think I figured out why people were eating here. Everyone sitting around us ( yes, I was listening in on other peoples conversations) were using comp coupons from the casino. I think I was the only customer actually paying for a meal that night! Of course if the majority of your customers are getting free meals, they won't complain. Thus, standards will fall. We made reservations here as a back up plan due to the winter storm our area was supposed to get. To my surprise, the decor and overall ambience of the place was very upscale. This is minus the fact that they had a smoking section. It's located in a completely different area of the restaurant so you cant smell anything while sitting in the non smoking section. The service we were provided by our server John was phenomenal. He was attentive, personable, and very upbeat. He is the main reason I'm giving 3 stars and not two. The food is overpriced for the quality. I thought the steak was average and our side order of buttermilk whipped potatoes came to our table cold. The food was wonderful! I had the Sea Scallops and shared the whipped buttery potatoes and grilled asparagus. They make a mean G/T with PERFECT TONIC. Sometimes when you order a G/T the tonic is flat - not at this establishment. My hubby at the steak and gave it an 8 out of 10 - could have had a little more flavor. Our friends ordered the Pork Chop ( FABULOUS) and the Sea Bass ( Not Fabulous but Very Good). The house salad was excellent - all the sides can be shared by two/three people. Lobster Bisque gets an A+++. The service is top notch with attention to detail throughout the meal. The table was kept clear of dishes, the water glasses full, and the table cloth free of those annoying little crumbs. White it's great to have a finer dining establishment closer to us than Cincinnati I feel like for the $400 spent for a party of 5 ( that did include the gratuity) something was lacking - I think it was "value" - I felt like the prices didn't match the atmosphere -could just be me. Last night was our 1st time at Final Cut and it will be our last. 1st let me start by saying our waitress was horrible. I asked for a certain cider beer and she said it wasn't available and couldn't tell me my other options. So I went to bar myself and found what I had initially asked was indeed available. This wasn't my 1st trip to the bar - trips made were due to our waitress not bringing our drinks. 2nd the food was not the greatest. I've gotten better steaks and sides at our local Longhorn Steakhouse, and we paid a 1/3 of what we did last night. Their version of garlic butter didn't help the taste any. 3rd is what started us on foul note from first impression, sitting down. The napkins on our table smelled like wet dog and our laminate on table was coming off, flapping around. We had to asked for paper napkins, but got two fresh clothe ones - that also smelled nasty. So I walked over to bar for some paper napkins. We are both so let down by the setting, service, and food for what we paid last night. This was a major dissapointment for our stay. read more

We celebrated a birthday here last night, and it was our first tine there. Out of a party of 4, there were two vegetarians so one may ask why go to a steakhouse, lol! But the birthday boy got to choose! His steak was fabulous, and he also had an order of oysters on the half shell. We had two entrees of the scallops and I must say they were cooked to perfection, and may be the best I've ever eaten. We also had a fish special which was very good. All of the food was presented very nicely. The sides are large enough to split. We had the final cut salad, which was lovely. And the fried Brussels sprouts--- omgoodness. I am an avid Yelper. So far, Yelp has not steered me wrong on a good meal. However, while traveling to Florence, KY/Cincinnati we were plagued with the fact that each restaurant yelped only had a handful of reviews. I had to try another trusty app while driving and craving a delicious dinner... aroundme/urban spoon. They both lead me to Final Cut steakhouse so I thought I'd give it a go. It is in a casino but far enough away from the smoke. The decor is tasteful and the wine menu is some sort of ipad you get to mess around with before the food comes. We chose Umberto Fiore's Moscato they carry and it was DELICIOUS. Very sweet and sparkling like a dessert wine and not dry at all. The bread they bring you is so tasty. You know you hit the jackpot when they come out with PRETZEL BREAD. Not too many places do this, and who the heck doesn't like pretzels? My party ordered : the steak fillet and licked the plate clean. Note: Sauces and sides are extra $$$. The chicken was good, not too memorable and my Dad said the salmon was out of this world. These two sea and poultry dishes come with sides and the veggies almost outshine the protein. Its a bit spendy but I definitely recommend for a relaxing nice dinner with some frank sinatra playing in the background. read more

I'm a huge fan of Jeff Ruby's establishments and this casino fare is definitely on par with his restaurants. The crab cake is the best in the area. It's all crab and worth the price. The whipped potatoes are first rate. And the steaks...it's fair to say they rank right up there with Mr. Ruby's: They are amazing. It's just your average steakhouse at premium pricing, very comparable to Outback for example minus everything here being al a cart. My husband and I had a beer each, both got the filet, added the lobster tail, and split a side our bill was $190 + gratuity.
