This was my third time at eighteen and I had always had great experiences until now. The experience started sour when we arrived at 7:40 for our 7:45 reservation. Although the host appeared to be swamped she was quite rude, lacked communication, and didn't seat us until 8:30. Which was bizarre because there were so many open tables. I ordered the shrimp and lobster linguine which I ordered the previous two times. It lacked flavor and I think they changed the shrimp in it. Overall, it's no longer an elevated dish or unique to the restaurant. I enjoyed the French onion soup and the caramel crunch cake. My boyfriend got the New York strip and he said it was "ok." Our server was wonderful even though you could tell she was swamped. She was attentive and checked in on us. Let's talk about the brunch buffet. Frankly, you are paying for the experience and it's not cheap. The fact that the place rotates is pretty cool and gives a nice view of the river, Cincinnati, and everything in between. The food is nothing more than a typical hotel breakfast buffet. There are eggs, potatoes, french toast, salad, etc. The food is perfectly fine but it isn't anything special. Certainly not worth the cost and the drinks like juice or soda are not included. It's a buffet, so the service isn't really an issue. The place itself shows signs of wear and hasn't been kept up. Again, it's fine but for the price you expect better. The hotel itself has a bit of an older musty scent about it. If you just want the experience of the rotating restaurant and the view, go for it. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The restaurant, located on the 18th floor, features floor-to-ceiling windows and revolves, completing a full rotation in about 90 minutes. That's really what you're paying for. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. The service was pleasant. The Radisson is one of those buildings you always see driving by the city, and recently I found out there was a restaurant on top! Me and my gf booked a night in the hotel as well as dinner reservations! As we rode the elevator to the top floor, the aesthetic made us feel fancy. We arrived at the top, were seated and soaked everything in. The view is incredible. That was definetly one of the best parts of our dinner. The top level rotates slowly as well, allowing you to see a 360 degree view of the city. No random walls or pillars in the way, just a great sunset view. The food though needed to hold some weight as well. So we dove into the menu and was greeted shorty after with some bread. Nothing special about it but was nice to snack on. I ordered a Pinot and my gf ordered a moscato which she enjoyed very much. I had to start with the crispy onions. Which was pretty good with the sauce. Probably ate too many lol. For our entrees, I went light with the chicken Caesar, which was pleasantly very good. My girlfriend ordered the New York strip. There was some fat to it, flavor wasn't mind blowing, but we wanted to feel that level of fancy. Roasted carrots came with the steak and they were tender and yummy. We enjoyed our view for awhile. All in all, it was a special night out and the view really made it just that. I don't usually write reviews, but I had to after trying the chitterlings here. Hands down some of the best I've ever had. They were cooked perfectly--super tender, well-cleaned, and seasoned just right without being overpowering. You can tell a lot of care went into preparing them, which isn't always easy with a dish like this. The flavor was rich, savory, and comforting, with that authentic, homemade taste that's hard to find. No weird aftertaste, no toughness--just straight-up delicious from the first bite to the last. If you want mediocre food at a very high price, with slow unhappy service, in a restaurant that doesn't revolve (that's supposed to). This is the place to go. Upon arrival, the hotel lobby smelled like there was a weed convention was in progress. We got upstairs and the lobby smelled like sewer gas, not a great start. We had 7pm reservations. We were seated about that time. We were told on the way to our table that the revolving part of the operation was broken, bummer. The place is mostly empty. Once seated, we were given water, but our server didn't come around for another 15 minutes or so. We ordered a wedge salad for $10, about the size of my palm, but tasted ok We also got the french onion soup, which wasn't bad but wasn't a $9 soup. Our entrees were a rack of ribs (with lobster mac and cheese as the side) and chicken carbonara. The ribs were a decent portion, but they were dry. You can tell these are the frozen/precooked and warmed ribs. Taste was ok, but nothing special. I paid extra for the lobster mac/cheese, thiis was HOT and the portion was fair, but I'm pretty sure it was just Velvetta Shells and cheese. Anyway, the lobster part consisted of 5 tiny chunks of lobster that had ZERO flavor. The chicken Carbonara was actually good, not a real carbonara, but had good flavor and a lot of chicken (for my money tho it isn't a $23 plate). We did order desserts as well, a chocolate cake which wasn't bad but not special, and the same can be said for the cheesecake. Total bill $111.83 We saw our server 4 times over the 90 minutes there. The other staff (with the exception of 1 young man) seemed like they were forced to be there. If you are going, the view is nice. Don't get your expectations up, it's not fancy (its Covington fancy). The view, the view, the view! The restaurant rotates fully in about an hour and the views of Cincinnati are spectacular. The restaurant has plaques of trivia while you rotate. Some of the windows appear to have some gaps so it was a little chilly next to them. We went there for restaurant week and the food was worth it. The steaks were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I arrived as a walk in by myself. Once off the elevator I was greeted with a host. He took me to my spinning table which I did enjoy the view while eating. The dining ware was clean. This place is a disaster. Called this weekend to make a reservation for 11am on Mother's Day. Was told they couldn't take the reservation yet because their paperwork wasn't ready yet, but it shouldn't be a problem because only a few parties had reserved for 11 that day (how did they do that if the paperwork wasn't ready?), and they would call me back in a couple days. A couple days come and go. I call back and am directed to call someone named Brenda to make the reservation. I call Brenda and leave a message saying I would like a reservation for 11am on Mother's Day. No call back. I call Brenda again the next day saying I would like to reserve a table for 11am on Mother's Day. No call back. Finally, several days later I get a call from someone saying they would be happy to reserve a table for me on Mother's Day at either 10am or 3pm. What's going on over there? This was my first experience at The Eighteen at the Radisson. My husband surprised me for my 65th birthday. Upon being seated myself sister and I noticed a distinct smell of sewage and mentioned it to our waiter. He at first said he couldn't smell it, then said he did but is was from the revolving floor. We noticed that as our table revolved away from the kitchen the smell went away and every time it revolved near the kitchen the smell came back. I ordered the lobster and shrimp linguini, it was pretty bland. My husband and brother in law had steak which they said was really good. Once seated, our helpful server guided us through the process. I had an omelette made for me but it was meh. Wondering if they used egg substitute instead of real eggs. The prime rib was average. Loved the cheese bites. The tossed salad was average. The red velvet cake was very dry. The cheesecake was meh. I liked the smoked salmon & the baked salmon was good also. You're paying for the novelty and the view, let's just get that out of the way. View is great and they have little plaques on the windows to tell you what you're looking at. They may or may not be accurate- looking at you Goebels park named after the shortest serving governor in KY, elected in 1899 and assassinated in 1990. We went for brunch today. They have prime rib in the menu. They might as well not. It's flavorless and cold. The brunch items were varied, but all of it was cold and stale. To be fair, we did not try the made to order items, so that may be where the magic is. The cocktails were great, excluding the French 75. That was awful. Manhattans and the espresso type martini were great though. The dessert, a chocolate cheesecake, was quite decent and went well with the manhattan as we finished our round the world tour. All in all, I wouldn't go back as I'm still in need of lunch, but for an amusement ride I recommend. If you can avoid eating and just get some cocktails and take the ride, do that. No issues with the service, everyone was kind and prompt. read more

Came here for the first time tonight, and I have very mixed feelings about it. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. The concept of the rotating steakhouse so you can see the beautiful city is a great concept however they really cannot call themselves a steakhouse because there were only two steak choices on the menu. When we looked up the menu before coming here, it was a completely different one online. When we got there, it was at least half the size. Our server informed us that they are under new ownership and they have changed the menu several times in the last few weeks. Had we seen the new menu we would not have chosen to come here. The food itself was good, but service was extremely slow and we ended up sitting in the restaurant for almost an hour and a half from start to finish, which I find to be way too long for two people. Our server was very nice, but even she knew that the service was not very good and she comped our appetizer. My lobster mac & cheese literally did not have lobster. She had to bring it back into the kitchen for them to remake it the correct way. Luckily my steak was prepared to the correct temperature. The food was not commensurate with the pricing. Subpar at best. The service given by Alexis and others was very good! The atmosphere ambiance and view was amazing. If the restaurant was to upgrade their accommodations and food, it would be a great place to go. The tables appeared to be Formica tops the carpet in the dining room area was frayed and well worn. According to a 2014 Cincinnati.com article, the Canadian investment company was going to upgrade it. If they had upgraded it doesn't show. If you go there for the view, great. I hate to post this after I've heard so many good things about the brunch. But here is my experience.... First if you have food allergies, just say no. Nuts are located in like two spots and I got sick because of cross contamination. They have a lot of breakfast choices but none of the eggs seem to be whole eggs, just egg mix and lots of carb items. We were seated in a section with no server, so that was disappointing since we had a hard time getting anyone to bring us drinks. Everyone was friendly but the lack of organization was disappointing. Ate here on 11/25 and it was truly terrible. To start we had reservations for 6:45 and when we arrived at 6:40 we still had to wait for another 45 minutes. Once we were finally sat the menu was completely different from what was advertised online, there were only two options of "steak" for a place that call themselves a steak house. Upon our arrival to our table we all noticed a strange mildew smell. After we waited over an hour for our food to arrive all 5 of our steaks were cooked completely wrong and had zero flavor to them. I have had better steak at waffle house. The "New York strip" if you can even call it that was more like a skirt steak someone picked up at dollar general and somehow priced at a criminal 49 dollars. If there was one positive it was our waitress she was completely understanding and helpful. We talked to the manager at the end of our experience and she told us they were under new management and have been having a lot of issues. I will never ever in my life go back. We spent $42/person on the Sunday brunch and were not impressed with the food quality & selection, or the service we received. Our reservation felt trivial and the dining experience was severely lacking. The brunch buffet is not friendly for individuals with food allergies and sensitivities. Gluten, dairy, nuts, and heavily processed/canned foods are used in almost every dish with no substitutions or alternatives available. The food was very reminiscent of what you would expect at any continental hotel breakfast. The crepe station was the only area we felt was deserving of the price point, as the chef at that station was very attentive, creative, and personable. My partner's exact words in regards to the quality of the food were, "$2 prime rib, $40 crepe." Our waitress was very friendly, as well as other service staff we interacted with, but the hostess was disorganized and flamboyantly rude. We waited nearly half an hour past our reservation time to be seated, along with nearly 20 other guests who had also made reservations yet had no tables. The hostess had no system for tracking wait times or names, and would intentionally and rudely remind guests that she had forgotten their names, their party size, and how long they had been waiting to be seated for their reservation. The hostess was also rude to other service staff members. The view was exactly as expected, and the novelty of the rotating restaurant made us not totally regret the amount of money that we spent on this experience. We are new to the area, and enjoyed seeing the city from up high and reading about the different architectures and histories from the plaques near the windows. Overall, we were expecting a better dining experience and were severely underwhelmed. We don't even know if they have spoons, my coffee came with a fork in it. The "dress code" advertised on the website and over the phone is not adhered to. Most diners were in sweatpants and jeans, and the wait staff were all in sweatpants/sweatshirts/T shirts. If you are wanting the experience of the view and the rotating restaurant, perhaps consider the dinner service and hope the food and dining experience is better. read more

I remember, as a youngster, the "novelty" of a revolving restaurant, but it wasn't until years later when I finally ate here and I was impressed. Although this place has been through several owners, etc., this is still a too notch dining experience. I had the ribeye and it was wonderful. Cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The view is unmatched in the area. This is a bit upscale in pricing, but as a "treat yourself " night out, this is the place. There are some areas where there could be some sprucing up, but if you're not looking, you won't notice. The staff is very attentive and the service is prompt. It was delicious, but it had a hard crust of salt on top. I couldn't remove it by scraping, so I had to eat it. It was WAY too salty. Please cut back on the salt! The lemon mornet sauce was delicious. The asparagus was fantastic. Baked potato was hot and cooked perfectly. The rolls were delicious and they were even warm. My friend got the chicken marsala. She said it was delicious as well. She got the brussel sprouts and she said those were also very good. We were greeted by the manager named Jerry, who is an absolute delight. He was the highlight of our evening. A very nice, helpful gentleman. Our waitress was sidetracked dealing with a very large party that came in long after we did. We had ordered dessert and coffee following dinner. She had someone else bring it, and she forgot our coffee, so we couldn't begin eating dessert without our coffee because they go together. We waited a long time, and felt as though we were abandoned for the larger party. Jerry finally did bring out my friend's fresh decaf (that came out not quite hot the first time). It was a very pleasurable meal and the view was breathtaking. However, I have one more suggestion: Please clean the inside of the windows so we can actually see the view. Those dirty windows made it a bit unpleasant. It might make the difference between a nice meal and an almost perfect one. At these prices, I would rather have the latter. read more

My friend and I went for restaurant week and first I wasn't that excited the menu was very straightforward salmon New York strip ribs etc. We both ordered the salmon with Mornay sauce and I am beyond words. We've been meaning to try this place so we made a reservation on a Wednesday evening... because why not HUMP DAY!?! I sometimes have motion sickness so I was a little nervous, but SUPER EXCITED for the experience. We arrived and were promptly seated. Emma was our server and she was FANTASTIC. The rotation was the perfect speed (no motion sickness) and the views were beautiful!! Hubs ordered surf and turf with the suggested accompaniment (crab meat and asparagus) and I ordered chicken Marsala. The food was okay.. wouldn't recommend the food, but the overall service and experience was on par. We ordered dessert... the vanilla crunch cake that our server recommended. About 15 minutes after we ordered, she came and advised that they were out of it. Im hopeful that they up their food game. I treated my daughter to dinner here on a Thursday evening. She has always wanted to go and see the view and have a 5 star dinner. It's was a girls night out. Well we went in and had a reservation, which is required if you wanna have dinner. But the place was empty.....maybe 5 other tables. The food was incredible!!! I was very impressed with everything from the food & service to the atmosphere and the view. We started with the spinach artichoke dip then I had the filet and shrimp and my daughter had a pasta dish with seafood. Our service was outstanding. We came here for a date night and we're not disappointed. I recommend timing your reservation with the sunset if you're able to. We had an earlier dinner to see it and the views were amazing. We received great service, however they did seem to be understaffed so please be patient and don't expect a quick dinner. The calamari appetizer was huge and a much larger portion than expected. The steak was cooked perfectly. The creme brûlée was great however was very thin. If you tend to get motion sickness like me, it takes a bit to get used to the slow spin. I recommend sitting forward in the direction you're moving. Also the plaques on the window are hard to read once it gets dark so use your phone or bring a small flashlight. read more
