Stumbled upon Ripple Wine Bar as my family and I had a long wait at a close by restaurant for our dinner. We are all so glad we stopped in during our wait! First of all, we LOVED the Grateful Dead inspo reflected in the menu and decor. That in and of itself made us want to come back! We were already a little hungry but didn't want to spoil our appetites, as we were going to a birthday dinner, so we split the Mediterranean Plate. It was delicious and gone in seconds! It was the perfect dish to tide us over. Other plates looked delicious, as well! We will definitely have to come back to try more. My mom got the Scarlet Begonia while I got the Casey Jones. We loved our cocktails. They also have an extensive wine menu. I had a class of Gavi and it was great. It's nice that they had an N/A section on their drink menu too. Although I was pretty limited on what I could eat because most items had dairy.... The food that I did eat as well as the service I received, was excellent! We sat at the bar for dinner, during Restaurant week and decided to order a few items off the regular menu. The bartender Matt was great and extremely helpful. He answered all my questions about specific food items and also checked in with the Chef to make sure I could eat certain things. It is a very cute space, I did not go upstairs, but the bar area is very nice. We had the salmon with broccolini and roasted red peppers which was pretty good. We also had the hummus plate - the hummus and pita chips were good, although I didn't really like the quinoa only because it has a very heavy vinegar on it. I did not eat the pierogies because they have cheese in them, but my friend did and really loved them! It is street parking, so be mindful of that. read more

I booked this place for our anniversary. When we walked in, we we're immediately led by the staff to the 2bd floor sit by the glass railing which allows you oversee downstairs bar and kitchen. It's amazing and fun to watch the chef and people coming in and what they order from above! We had their Spanish flatbread which is very tasty and yummy. We also had their beef Wellington popovers, which is delicious! For main course i had salmon and husband had their Mac & cheese. All great, no complains! Very happy! Just surprised that they serve everything use one-time plate which is a little unusual for this type of place. We didn't had dessert but I'm sure it will be great too! This place is a little gem in Covington with lots of wine selection too, and it's 1st floor is bar and 2nd floor mostly restaurant, of course, we drink while we eating too! Quick message as this has been my 3rd time here...this is my favorite restaurant in Cincy! Hands down! I've never had a bad meal. Went for restaurant week but of course added more. Service always stellar. Had a bite of my friend's filet after they gave it to her overcooked(gave wrong steak by accident) she didn't even ask and they asked a couple times and could see wasn't perfect to her liking. Super cute space with two floors of seating. The kitchen is on the first floor near the window and if you are seated upstairs, you can look down and watch the food being made. They have half-glasses of wine for purchase, making trying several different varieties easier. We ordered a charcuterie board for starters made up of cheeses and meat that you choose from the list. It came with spiced nuts, pickled think cucumber slices, and herbed butter for the amazing fresh rustic bread chunks. Everything was delicious. We also ordered the truffle popcorn. It came with fresh shredded parmesan on top. Not really a fan. The truffle flavor was great, but the actual popcorn kernels were lacking- quite small and really no taste. I had the shrimp and grits for dinner which was an incredibly unique take on this classic dish. Lots of shrimp and sausage atop the creamy grits. I love Ripple's menu. I have been here 3 times for dinner. The last time was for New Year's Eve. They kindly fit us in a few hours before dinner time. I loved their baked brie, roasted Brussels sprouts, crab cake, & the pan seared scallops were seared perfectly. The drunk menu is fun because they have drinks inspired by Grateful Dead songs. We did a tapas style and loved the savory, hot honey flavor on the Sicilian flatbread. It wasn't as crispy in the middle as we had hoped but the flavor made up for it. We also had the chicken meatball, which were fine, but they lacked a standout flavor. Same with the pirogies. Not pictured but also delicious were the brussels sprouts and truffled potatoes. We ended up waiting for these for most of our meal and they only came out at the end. I had another wonderful meal at Ripple. This time it was a girls night out and it felt perfectly festive for the holiday. Our server was attentive and happy to make wine recommendations for us. The Malbec was expensive but so good. We shared the baked Brie for an appetizer. I am not usually big on Brie but this melty treat with the pieces of garlic bread hit the spot. I had the ricotta gnocchi for my entree. The creamy truffle flavor with mushrooms was perfect. I would give them 10 stars if I could! The place is beautiful for starters! The service was good and the food was excellent. I got one of the flatbreads with the hot honey which was sweet and delicious while my friend tried the spinach flatbread which is more savory. We loved them both!! We also tried the Brie and it was truly some of the best I've ever had. I've heard they get pretty busy in the late evenings but we went around 4p when they first opened and had the place to ourselves for a while. Went for a group dinner which was in the side room, so I can't review the main restaurant area. Ambiance of the party room was minimalistic and was able to fit one long table of 20 guests. There was music and we were also allowed to bring in a tv to watch the Derby, which was great! One server for the whole group but she did a fantastic job and didn't appear stressed, which is important! The food is small-plates style with 3 regular course options plus sides. Most dishes no matter the course can be shared with at least 2 people. Splitting 1 dish from each course was enough to fill me up, but I saw other couples split up to 5 plates and that was enough for them. I would suggest the baked brie, but avoid the Asian shrimp (too much slaw not enough shrimp.) Although this is a wine bar they had a nice selection of cocktails. Prices were reasonable for the volume, spent about $100 for 3 courses and 2 drinks. Would return. read more

Their refreshing NA Riesling by Leitz paired well with dinner All of the portions were very generous, we left super full First Course | Cheese Board *Ripple was accommodating to our vegetarian restrictions and doubled up on the cheese instead of the meat! our favorite was the Boursin with the quince jam Second Course | Arugula Salad *The raspberry balsamic vinaigrette was delish! Third course | Shroom pasta *The mix of truffle, orzo and garlic cream was so flavorful! Fourth Course Finale | Flourless Chocolate Torte *It was airy and rich the raspberry compote was so fresh Docked 1 star because I made these reservations a month and a half in advance for Valentine's Day and they reached out only 1 week before to say that it is a prix fixe menu and we just had the 1 vegetarian entree option. The mushroom pasta was good but we had pretty much no choice or time to book another restaurant if there weren't veg options for us. Additionally it's not clear how to reserve a table vs. bar. In fact, it was nearly my favorite part-- tied with my unexpectedly delicious Bourbon Smash. Ripple accommodated us by pulling together a table night-of.
