Great service but best to get a reservation unless you get very lucky or order from a local bar like the Hannaford next door. I struggled a little bit to give them 4 stars but to be honest it was only one thing that went wrong so you decide if its a big deal or not... First things firsts. The food is quality cuisine, fresh, different and tasty. The place is really chill, has a great vibe, awesome wine selection, simply a great place to relax and spend a couple hours eating and drinking with a couple of friends or in my case, with my wife, or at least that's what we where hoping for. It was our first time here so no idea how the place worked, we went in with no reservations, and where greeted with the option to wait an hour and a half or simply sit at the bar which was fine with us. We wanted to celebrate for a while a promotion that my wife just got so we where happy pretty much anywhere. After we ordered a couple of drinks and appetizers we where asked to either leave or relocate to somewhere else in the restaurant because of a reservation in the bar. The place was packed and they didn't know where they would move us so we ended up leaving. To be honest it caught us off guard, If they would told us in advance about the reservation at the bar we would've expected it and there wouldn't have been any issue at all, but my wife specially was enjoying the night and she was asked to leave or relocate. This place is such a vibe. I've been twice now - and I can totally see this adorable wine bar becoming my go-to spot anytime friends or family are in town. Make sure to make a reservation! Even on a weeknight, Ripple gets quite busy, and they do cap their reservations at a 1.5 - 2 hour limit for that very reason. I've sat at both the bar and in the upstairs dining room, and both are delightful. I'd recommend sitting at the bar if it's just you and one other person - but definitely try for the dining room if you have a larger group. Despite being known for their diverse wine selection, Ripple also offers a fun food menu. The BYO charcuterie boards are perfect to split with a friend or two -- but don't miss out on their actual food offerings. On my last visit, we enjoyed the Beef Wellington Bites and Baked Brie, both of which were incredible. They even serve Allez bread, which locals know is easily the best bread in town. Our server was able to offer us great wine recommendations based on what we said we typically drink. Their selection rotates, which is fun if you're always looking to try something new. I appreciate that they have several glass and bottle options ... and even a half-bottle option. The wine prices aren't bad at all - comparable to what you'd see in a nice restaurant. Came here for restaurant week and I can say it did not disappoint. The combination of flavor just burst in your mouth. The steak was cooked just the way I liked it and the chimichurri base was over the top. The service/waiter was great and of course they knew the best wine suggestion. Tonight's weather was delightful, so as we entered, we saw people sitting outside, sipping on high quality wines, and snacking on charcuterie. My friend and I just popped in for a drink to catch up. She enjoyed the Pullus [Štajerska, Slovenia] 2021white wine, referred to as "orange wine" that was very similar to pinot Grigio. For our charcuterie, we opted for the "select 4" and chose: Manchego DOP, Corcuera, La Mancha Spain [Sheep] 'Drunken Goat', Murcia Al Vino, Jumilla, Spain [Goat] Aged Gouda, Beemster, Holland [Cow] Prosciutto Di Parma, Parma, Italy [Pork] It was served with the most incredible, flavorful mixed nuts roasted in blackening spices, quince paste (fore the manchego), mild pickles, and incredibly tasty crusted bread dusted with parmesan and green onions. The bread was the perfect accompaniment to the "drunken goat" cheese which was well flavored and blended with spices. We also opted for a bowl of olives. Ripple has such a clean feel from the second you walk in. I love how they utilized the space in such a narrow building to maximize the bar area (with a plethora of wines running all the way down the bar) and the intimate dining area on the second floor. Architecturally, it's one of the best design concepts: there's a second story mezzanine-type set-up half way up the stairs, and a second floor cut out to overlook the downstairs bar. What stands out the most to me is how Ripple so clearly invokes all of the senses - even down to the textures they use. The menu opens with a fabric silk-like cover, and the attention to detail carries over to the food. The baked Brie was one of the most beautifully golden-flakey masterpieces that I have ever laid eyes on... with cheese oozing out that was piping hot. I settled on the salmon and it was equally well prepared. Even the papyrus-like appetizer plates have an uncommon but exotic feel to them. Drinks, food, wine - everything had meticulous attention to detail and great service/ wait staff to accompany it. I love that they source their cheeses from Urban Stead (a local cheese producer in Walnut Hills, check it out). I'm not a huge wine connoisseur, but I feel like they distill a very classy vibe without being pretentious or overpriced. I was just there last night and I'm already planning a trip back. I came with a party of 12, but I'm excited to come for a date night for a more quiet affair. The Pike Street Corridor has really taken off (and, need I mention, street parking is STILL FREE on weekends?!); even if you're not huge into wine Ripple is worth the visit! read more

I'm always open to trying new things, so I appreciated that our server ran us through personalized food and wine recommendations given what we said we usually like. If you have no idea what you like, the bartenders double as wine connoisseurs. There was not a single bad recommendation I heard. One of the most impressive things I heard was that Ripple sources from smaller Vineyards instead of the larger ones. Their meats and cheeses are top notch, grain fed and healthy. Every time we visit Ripple (and we visit fairly frequently) I'm always amazed at the quality of the food...especially given how teeny tiny their kitchen space is! This time we ordered the Burrata, Ahi Tuna, Shrimp Nachos and Spanish Flatbread. Everything was delicious but the standouts for me were the burrata with its creamy texture and mix of nutty/tart flavors, and the ahi tuna with its fresh and bold sesame and wasabi flavors. Aside from the amazing food, our servers have always been super welcoming and friendly. We each got a half glass so we could have our own tasting and decided to get a bottle of the wine we liked the best. It would be cool if you could order a wine flight, but you can't.
