I had such high expectations from what I'd heard from friends and it was amazing! I got the pesto gnocchi and my boyfriend got the spaghetti & meatballs. It was all so fresh. The seasoning wasn't overdone and loved how herby it was. It all tasted so authentic. The tiramisu was DIVINE. Definitely get it. We also got the bread service. My only complaint is the focaccia bread was a little dry. The decor of this place was so so cute I couldn't stop taking pictures. Truly a little slice of Italy in Covington. The perfect place for a date night or girls night out. I'd give it 4.5 stars!! Will be coming back for sure.
I've been here a few times but it's been a while. It's literally little Italy in Covington . The focccai and butter is a must. My go to is chicken parm but I opted for the lemon pasta add chicken and man what a great option . It was so creamy and came out hot. Sounds like a simple request but many miss the mark . Here's to staying consistent and one of Covington's best. This was girls night but definitely is a family spot and it a date night. ( food was too good to be pictured ). We ate it
The place is super cute, it almost looks like it used to be an old house. Very homestyle vibe. Service was good, not overly annoying and checking on you every five minutes, but also weren't waiting on them for refills or to check in on us. I LOVED the vodka rigatoni. My boyfriend got that and he added grilled chicken into it, it was so good. Flavor was amazing. The focaccia bread was good as well, paired well with a nice whipped ricotta. I got an espresso martini, which was nothing amazing but still enjoyed it. I wish I ordered the vodka rigatoni instead of getting the mushroom ragu tagalarini. I wanted to try it because all of the pictures on Yelp looked so good but I should've expected for it to just taste like straight mushroom. It didn't have balance of really anything else. It had rosemary in it, which I got notes of, but I didn't love how it paired with the mushroom. And I like mushrooms-- I will eat them plain, but now I know that I like my traditional creamy pastas. I'm not gonna be rushing back to come here, but I definitely would not deny the chance to come back. I would probably get the lemon pasta to try!

Chicken Parmesan - 8/10 Focaccia with Whipped Ricotta/Olive Oil- 9/10 Review The cutest little spot! Vibes were immaculate on this day with a full restaurant and ~almost full~ patio dining (it was summer!) The pasta was cooked to al-dente perfection and the sauce was sweet, tangy, and seasoned really well. The chicken was well seasoned and crispy. The focaccia was soft inside and had a light crust that was quite enjoyable with the whipped ricotta. Delicious! No indoor seating was available so be sure to make a reservation, especially if you want to sit in the AC during a hot July dinner rush. Parking is available in a small garage or along main street. The service was alright, nothing too special but the waitress was very nice!
What an amazing first experience! My fiancé and I had been looking forward to our Saturday night reservation all month, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The chicken parm was delicious, and the table bread is a must. The atmosphere is so fun and unique, and the wait staff was incredibly kind. We'll definitely be back -- and bringing others with us!
This little Italian restaurant had amazing pasta and wine. We didn't make a reservation and had to sit at the bar but there were only two of us so it wasn't a bad experience. The restaurant has darker lighting to create a romantic mood. We ordered the meatballs, which I would recommend 100%. Our pastas were very good but I'm glad we got a side as we were still hungry. The garlic chips on the broccolini were our favorite. They had so many good choices for wine and the staff were incredibly nice and attentive.
I was initially skeptical by looking at some pictures of the food online, but I have to say that the pasta dishes were tasting better than how they were looking! They are serving Italo-American food, and overall the quality is good, service was great as well, and the restaurant itself is quite peculiar with some stain glasses inside that make the ambiance so unique!
I tried this restaurant a couple weeks ago and I have nothing but great things to say! Food was excellent, cocktails were great, and the building was beautifully decorated and much bigger inside than it seems. The server gave helpful recommendations and was very attentive! Highly recommend trying this restaurant on your next night out!
Was craving my Mamas faves, so what better way to do so than on sweetest day !! .... Came for usuals Limoncello Spritz, Caesar salad, chicken Parm, mushroom Ragu Tagliarini, and Panna cotta !! Our Server Frank is my favorite and he is always friendly and helpful... food per usual was delicious service fast and excellent and always love the atmosphere there. I always feel at home with some good food.
We have been here before but this time was a 10/10! We sat downstairs the first time and it was a little crowded and close together & this time we sat upstairs & I LOVED the vibe up there! We will be back :)

Amazing time here, stopped in at the recommendation of a friend. The setup is really nice whether inside or outside. We sat outside and watched the street go by. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Had the rigatoni with vodka sauce with chicken parm on top (at our server's suggestion which was a great call). Definitely have to get the Focaccia as well which is what they are known for. Our server Ashely S was very kind and had good suggestions for us. Only thing that I would note is that they book out pretty quickly so make your reservation a good week before hand. There is a small bar and outdoor tables which are first come first serve which we were able to get a table at, but that was certainly very lucky. Also had meatballs on the side. Perfect amount of food for 2. Overall, great experience here, cannot wait to come back!
My husband and I chose Mama's for our anniversary dinner and had a wonderful experience! We frequent another pasta restaurant in town and wanted to try something new that also had several Italian classics to choose from. It was all delicious, service was wonderful, vibes were beautiful, and I felt the food came at a good value for what we ordered. Mainstrasse in Covington is an experience and Mama's is part of that! We sat outside on the patio to take it all in- highly recommend in nice weather. The building itself is beautiful and both the inside and outside feature artsy details in the decor that I really appreciated. My favorite was the mismatched plates, which were darling and cozy! Our waitstaff was quick and friendly, allowing us to order all at once and bringing things out with great timing- quickly, but not until we finished a course so we weren't rushed. We appreciated getting in and out relatively quick as we had a sitter at home. We decided to go a little all out and try a lot of items together. First, the focaccia and ricotta was enjoyable but not my favorite bread starter I've had. It hit the spot but I wasn't raving about it like another one of my favorite whipped ricotta starters across town. The arancini, however, was fantastic- probably our favorite thing we ate. Hot, crispy, and paired with a delicious spicy marinara that was super standout and flavorful. Next we got the stonefruit panzanella, which was beautiful and really yummy. The burrata was delicious in particular and while the cherries and peaches weren't the best I've had all season, they worked well together in this dish. For our entrees, we split both the chicken parmesan and the limone pasta. The chicken parmesan was huge, we both had a large piece even after it was split. The pasta had that delicious marinara from earlier and we really enjoyed it, which is saying a lot for a simple marinara spaghetti. The chicken was very thin and crispy. I liked the limone even better- it was very lemon forward which can be hard to achieve in a creamy sauce. We only wished we tried more shapes of pasta because it's made in house and the spaghetti was the perfect level of al dente in our opinions. We were super full, but ordered the cookie platter to finish the meal. We split a couple of the 6 cookies that came in 3 varieties, but took the rest home! The chewy almond/amaretto cookie was our favorite and really unique. My husband also had an old fashioned and commented that he liked it a lot. I would have expected this much food to come out to much more than it did- $100! I feel that is a great value for a special occasion considering we were stuffed and tried a ton of menu items. Overall, this was such an indulgent and fun experience and I'd highly recommend Mama's to anyone who is looking for a yummy Italian experience with comfort food classics in a fun, cozy Covington setting. read more

Food - I got the salmon without the grains, and it was so good. The salmon was cooked perfectly! Non-alcoholic rose was also good. My friend got the rigatoni with chicken and she loved it! Pesto pasta was a little light on flavor, but other than that, we loved this place! Service - Everyone was so incredibly nice. Knew the menu, what's good and popular, and very accommodating for people who are gluten-free :) Ambiance - Tucked in such a cute area of town. The inside is absolutely adorable, the perfect place for a girls' get-together, Bachelorette celebration, birthday, etc. read more

2nd visit and for me and my friend, this is our favorite Italian spot. This visit sealed the deal. Service was excellent, kind and above and beyond. The foccacia was a little more well done than I like but flavor great, whipped ricotta delicious! Our ceasar was dressed perfectly in our opinion. We both had the spaghetti and meatballs. The dish was balanced so well. I would not change one thing. We been to two other Italian spots in Covington, two in Hyde Park, one downtown Cincinnati and over Christmas we went to Mt. Adam's, Mama's on Main is top of the list for us. read more

Spectacular Italian. Hits the right balance of warm, welcoming, relaxed, vibrant, and special enough for a nice meal out. Fun ambiance with unique decor and a gorgeous stained glass window. Friendly service that helped accommodate an accessibility need with a great attitude and never acted like it was a problem. Started with the Luxardo soda and a prosecco - both delicious. Continued with the focaccia and whipped ricotta which was a fantastic fluffy starter. Table had entrees of pesto gnocchi, eggplant parmesan, and salmon piccata. The gnocchi was such a standout. Pillowy, fresh, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Eggplant parmesan was superb, and the salmon piccata was also very good. Tiramisu and espresso in the most delightful little cups finished the evening. Overall just a lovely experience. If you're looking for fresh, comforting food in an approachable, artsy, and classy venue - this is the spot! read more

Incredible. I heard such good things about this restaurant so my expectations were high. I can confidently say my expectations were met. Everything we ate was incredible. We started with the arancini which was flavorful and rich. I ordered the eggplant parmesan and my boyfriend ordered gnocchi with red sauce and added chicken. We also ordered a side of potatoes. The red sauce was sweet and flavorful. The chicken was bursting with seasons and created a wonderful party in my mouth. And my favorite thing was the potatoes. I could talk about them for probably 10 minutes straight. The food arrived at the table at a decent time from ordering. The restaurant is elegant and classy. The decor is very intentional and it is truly a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend dining here. read more

Finally made it here, and wow everything was delicious! Came with a girl friend and we split everything, which is always the way to go! For food, we ordered the Arancini, Spaghetti Al Limone, and Panna Cotta; for drinks, we shared the Limoncello Spritz, bourbon cocktail (could have been the Floral Fashioned), and Thin Mint Martini. In one word, exquisite. We went here hoping for a nice last family dinner before my eldest sister goes to college and got all of that and more. I ordered the chicken parm and was more than impressed. The sauce was creamy, the chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the noodles were perfect. I looked to the right and saw my fathers face as he took a bite of his eggplant parmesan and relax his whole body in a satisfying manner. Service was lovely and food came out faster than a lightning bolt striking a tree in the middle of a strong storm. The ambience was very homey, making me feel like i was getting a nice home cooked meal in my grandmas kitchen. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone asking for a delicious Italian restraunt with good food and good service. Thank you, mama for such a wonderful experience and I hope I have the pleasure of returning as soon as possible. read more

We had a lovely experience in here, sitting on the heated patio for my friend's birthday dinner. We weren't sure what to expect by the heated patio, but it was definitely cozy. They sat us right by this cute fireplace, and we felt that it was less loud on the patio than the dining room room is so we liked this a lot better. We started off with the focaccia, which was absolutely to die for I will be dreaming about this for a long time. For dinner I got the chicken Parmesan, which came with a spaghetti with just marinara sauce, which sounds super basic, but it actually was probably the most delicious chicken Parmesan that I've ever had . My friend got the rigatoni and really liked that as well for dessert. We both got the affogato . They had multiple flavors for the ice cream/gelato. I got the hazelnut and my friend got the vanilla. I really really enjoyed this dinner and dessert. We need to try one of their half liter table wines and we're not a fan. It was kind of a bummer. The wine was felt very cheap and had a bad after tea so I wouldn't get that in the future but overall we loved it. The food was delicious. We would just get a different wine next time . Also service was very attentive and pleasant. We definitely recommend making a reservation here. read more

The atmosphere is really cute and gives an Italian feel to it. Our waiter was kind too and kept checking up on us. I've been wanting to check this place out and I'm not sure if I ordered the wrong thing that just didn't appeal to me but we ordered the spaghetti Al limone and then the mushroom pasta. The spaghetti Al limone's sauce tasted way too similar to the ricotta that comes with the foccacia bread service so I think that's what threw it off for me. And then the mushroom pasta wasn't bad and definitely had more flavor but I just don't know if that flavor is what I was expecting or looking for in this meal. If I were to come back though I think I would try the chicken Parmesan and the arancini because a group next to us ordered that and it looked great. read more
We were unable to get reservations, so we showed up right at 5 when they open to make sure we got a spot at the bar or on their patio. Good thing we showed up when we did because by 5:10 the bar seating was full (there is only 10 spots). It is a small restaurant but well decorated and nice! The bartenders provided great service throughout our evening. We started with focaccia which was amazing! I ordered the chicken parm and goodness was it phenomenally simple and delicious! My fiancé got the rigatoni with a side of meatballs which was also great! The prices were fair and the food was stellar! We will definitely be back to try some more food options! read more

Service was great! Food was ok. The "crispy potatoes" are not crispy at all. The pesto gnocchi was completely flavorless as well as being overcooked and way too soft. I tried some of my boyfriend's chicken parm and that was good. The arancini was a high point! Great red sauce. read more

Literally the best Italian I've ever had. Only complaint was I was still a bit hungry after my mushroom pasta and the bread appetizer, but if you added protein it would likely be perfect! Service was amazing. We sat on the enclosed rooftop which was perfect! Very quiet. read more

Everything about the dining experience at Mama's is noteworthy. I had requested to sit in front of the stained glass window on the 1st floor (definitely recommend), and was delighted by the fulfillment of the request. The ambiance is a perfect blend between elegant, yet lively and energetic. Dim lights and beautiful decorations make for a perfect date night, but the efficient service and fun atmosphere double it as a great location for a night out with friends. Naturally, the food was the best part. The gnocchi was exactly I was hoping for, and I look forward to returning and trying the eggplant parm next time. read more

This Covington restaurant has a warm and homey feel when you step inside. I love their unique and eclectic dinnerware. They have tasty and fluffy focaccia with whipped ricotta. This is a great spot to bring out of town guests if you can snag a reservation. Their bar is first come first serve and another great option if you want to pop in. Their pasta is always flavorful and some are event homemade. A great spot for date night or girl's night! read more

I really enjoyed my visit to Mama's on Main. I ordered the bread service, chicken parmesan, salad, a side of meatballs, and dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was top tier. I visited from out of town while in town for the weekend. It was the perfect treat during the final day of my trip! read more

Open table says how long the table will be reserved for... Does this mean there is a time limit for how long we can be there?
They do have a time limit on Opentable, but Mama's won't kick you out once your time is up. Opentable is simply estimating the amount of time they think a reservation of your size will take there.
Is mama's kid friendly?
In my opinion,it's not a restaurant you take young children to dine.
