Being from out of town with so many food options is overwhelming. We had reservations elsewhere at a place we passed coming back to our hotel, but it was too early as no one was hungry yet so we needed to find a new spot. I stumbled across this place in a Facebook post and we almost didn't stop since it showed to reservations available until late night, glad we didn't listen to that instinct. It's tucked away in a row house spot with very eclectic decor. We sat at the bar which usually I don't like but this time was the best experience. We were greeted by the bartender Frank who was awesome and gave great recommendations and met some friendly guests. We started with the bread service of fresh focaccia and whipped ricotta....YUM!!!! For our meals we had the chicken parm with spaghetti and tagliatelle with mushroom ragu,DOUBLE YUM! During our meal we heard only 2 tiramisu left for the evening so we had to snag 1 ahead of time and so excited we did, it was 1 of the best I've had. DELICIOUS! This place was amazing! Plus, the staff were so sweet! My friends and I came here for a fun girls night out! We started with the marinated olives, that each had a unique (but delicious) taste, and we also shared a classic cesar salad - the perfect beginning to a great meal! I ordered the spaghetti meatballs, which was the perfect classics pasta dish - I just wish the meatballs were larger so I had more to savor!! My friend enjoyed the rigatoni with vodka sauce, which was the perfect blend of spices & pasta - not too hot even though the waitress told us it might be! My other friend had the ricotta gnocchi! When I first asked her if she liked it she said, and I quote "it's like eating a cloud".... Confused by this statement, I had to try it myself.... & she was right, IT WAS LIKE EATING CLOUDS! The gnocchi was so delicate that it basically melted in your mouth and the pesto flavors worked so well! Wish I had some to eat now! My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Mama's and it appears I completely forgot to take photos except our meatball appetizer (oops!). First, the meatballs were amazing and so was the bread service. We devoured the appetizers. We then shares a chicken parm; it was a good size and delicious, but we agreed we'd get our own next time :) Mama's has a great atmosphere and some of the best Italian I've had in our area. Was very excited to try Mama's and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is small and gets very busy, so I highly recommend getting a reservation. They do have outside seating that's very nice. If you're looking for semi-fancy, good food, good portions, and it's not going to break the bank, Mama's is for you. The portion sizes were larger than anticipated, which was great! Sometimes when you go to a "fancy" Italian place, you get very small amounts of pasta, but that is not the case here and is much appreciated. I loved both the chicken parm and the mushroom pasta. Specifically I would recommend the chicken parm - it reminded me a lot of how my Italian grandma would make it when I was a kid. It's thin, crispy, and comes with spaghetti. The restaurant is eclectic ranging from a religious stained glass window to tasteful pinups. The team is focused and casual yet professional and attentive. The food was excellent. We had the bread service a tasty focaccia with a delicious cheese spread. Next the arancini which were cooked to perfection flavorful with just enough tomato sauce. Main course was the eggplant parmigiana crispy yet tender which comes with a great staple (spaghetti) we added a side of meatballs which were tender and flavorful albeit a bit garlicky. The meatballs aligned well with the eggplant and consuming them together resulted in a fantastic flavor. I would definitely recommend mama's and we will return. read more

A great date night spot! Had been hearing a lot about Mama's, and it lives up to the hype! This is a wonderful date night spot with hearty Italian fare. The decor is just my style, eclectic with lots of unique pieces to start conversation about. The menu has lots of items, and our waitress was knowledgeable about all the dishes and helped us make our selections. Everything was so fresh, and if you go you HAVE to get the tiramisu. We had a great dinner at Mama's on Main last night. The decor and vibes were fantastic. I love the details, and especially loved the stained glass window in the main dining room. After being seated, it took awhile for our waiter to first visit our table. It was an 8:30 reservation on a Saturday, so I understand some delay at the end of a busy night. However it was quite some time, and I expected better service because the restaurant is so nice. Now that's out of the way let's talk about the food, it was bomb. We started with cocktails and focaccia. To drink we had a Hugo and an Italian Margarita. I really liked them both, the Italian margarita was delicious and a touch sweet. The focaccia was perfectly crispy on the outside and light on the inside. The whipped ricotta it's served with was fantastic with a hint of lemon. The caesar salad was tasty, and I'm a tough judge of Caesars. It wasn't overdressed and had crisp lettuce with refreshing lemon flavor. Mama's on Main is big on lemon zest and I appreciate that. For pastas we ordered the gnocchi and the mushroom ragu. Both were fantastic. Also got the pork Milanese. The salad served with it was super good loved the shallots and banana peppers in it. Adored our dinner at Mama's!!! It was the best meal I've had all around in a while. It is absolutely delicious but not overly expensive or formal. I appreciated being able to walk up without a reservation and grab a seat at the bar. The quaint atmosphere felt like we were being personally cooked for by the chef-- and each dish was prepared with thoughtful perfection. One was better than the next. Although each was stellar, surprisingly the chicken parm was the most irresistible. Even though we've ALL had our fair share of chicken parm and might even have our own recipes we swear by, this chicken Parmesan BEGS you to eat it. Absolutely loved this cozy Italian jewel. Ordered a grey goose martini at the bar and it was literally perfect. The focaccia bread was delicious but the butter served with it was what set it apart. I had the spaghetti limone and it was creamy and delicious. Had a blended Tuscan wine with dinner that perfectly complemented the meal. The service was perfect and not evasive. The food was exceptional, and they made every effort to accommodate us even though we did not have a reservation. My husband chose the chicken parmesan and spoke highly of it. The tiramisu was delectable and the whipped ricotta with the focaccia was a fun touch that made the $7 up charge for bread well worth it. The arugula salad was disappointing. There wasn't much of a lemon flavor to it which left it flat when pairing with wine. The chicken parm was well prepared with just enough tomato sauce and cheese to bring all the flavors together. While I'm a fan of a good crisp crust, if anything, and I hate to say this - the chicken was pounded so thin, it was actually a little more crust than i would have liked in the ratio.
