Myself and my husband have been going to this First Watch on Colerain Ave.in Cincinnati, Ohio since the first day it was built. It's actually his favorite restaurant. But in the last year, there is a very unfriendly hostess and sometimes server she never smiles. She never has a nice thing to say and she's always bothered , today we went in and asked for one of many booths that were open that hadn't been cleaned and I said could we have that booth it was at 9 AM she says to us there's no busser till 9:30 AM. I said well if you wanna give me a towel, I'll clean it. She said nothing and turned away from us and we went and wiped off the table and sat there. I think she is making a very bad reputation for the Colerain First Watch. Everyone else there has always been nice to us at our favorite restaurant. But just seeing her unhappy face and put upon attitude, made us start searching then and there at our booth for a place close by that we can have a nice breakfast. The honey bacon, brussel sprouts hash ... not so much. When it arrived, the cheese was already a congealed lump. The brussel sprouts were waaay overcooked and a limp disappointment. It was necessary to use a knife to cut the lump into bite size pieces. The decaf was hot, but the pitcher did not hold enough to fill two mugs; more please. At the same moment we requested napkins, which did not arrive with the refilled pitcher of decaf. Ask again for napkins. The handle to the front door is mega loose; at least 3/8ths of an inch of slop/wobble. We requested outside seating and were seated at a wholly unusable table. The table top was loose on the pedestal and rocked up:down more than an inch and could easily rotate 6-8 inches in either direction. Will I return? Yes, but not to this location. read more

The service is amazing here honestly so good that we tipped half the bill. The cooking isn't to be trusted especially if you have allergies. The kitchen had to remake my food because they used food I was allergic to, when they remade it and I ate it, I got sick for 2 days with pain and a fever and sweating. My husband said since this is the second time, we just won't go there anymore because they cannot be trusted to accommodate allergies. Be careful. read more

I couldn't get a second coke as the waitress asked to get me a coke passed me 2 times with one drink in here hand and it took at least 5 minutes for my drink. I had to go to the kitchen to tell them about my wife's food not being there. The waitress said she would get the missing items but my wife's food she had was already cold, after they made her food over again they still left one item off of her order. I tip 20% and higher in cash but this was too much for me to take, so, The waitress got no tip. And we will not go back. This happened the last time we were here but I thought we would try again. I was invited for a return visit and did so via takeout 10/13. Many condiments we needed were not included. We had the traditional with chicken sausage, which was a tasty alternative to pork. I was pleasantly surprised by the broccoli cheddar soup and roast beef w/ horseradish; both very good. The turkey burger tasted like a frozen patty and didn't have good flavor or texture. I also visited 10/21. I ordered the traditional and trifecta with scrambled eggs. The cook made the eggs incorrectly and rather than correcting the order, he/she chose to chop up two over easy eggs and present them as scrambled. I notified the server at the hostess stand and she said she would inform the manager. I didn't have time for the order to be remade. All in all, nice people but I have never had a smooth service at this location. read more

It had a unique texture and nutty flavor. Mixed with the right amount kale, shredded carrots and tangy, sweet, roasted tomatoes topped with sliced chicken breast, basil pesto sauce, and Feta cheese equals a well-balanced meal in a bowl. The only really bad part was the chicken sausage which tasted like it was underdone chicken skin. We've always enjoyed First Watch. We've eaten at this franchise in San Diego, Kansas City and Ohio and it's always excellent. The breakfast foods are a bit more creative than what you'll find in similar places and they're always tasty and plenty. This time around we ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine and the Breakfast Tacos and they were all excellent. Their coffee, which at one point was awful and tasted more like chicory is good again (thanks, guys). The prices are competitive and the service is always great even when they are busy. They don't take reservations, but they use the NoWait app which is integrated with Yelp*. It allows you to call ahead and place your name on the list. Once they're ready for you they text you. Don't know what happened to my review which actually was very unfavorable regarding a server named Chris who was extremely rude to me and because I was alone, seated me away from the general public, never checking on me. A very nice female server saw me looking for someone to help me and I was in the process of leaving. She got me a regular seat in the main dining room and profusely apologized for his rudeness. This was discrimination against someone who was alone and a woman. He has issues and doesn't belong with the public, unless you condone this type of behavior towards a paying customer. I either haven't eaten at this location before or I haven't eaten there in a very long time. Either way, our recent visit did not disappoint. Even though it was a Sunday morning, I guess we went early enough to beat the rush. Because we got a table for five immediately. I enjoy their regular menu - I love their omelette sans pancakes, while my mom loves their sandwiches. But on this particular visit, their seasonal menu caught my eye. I went with their Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash - potatoes, corn, chorizo, two eggs, avocado, cotija and chipotle crema. The potatoes and avocado were the perfect thing to share with my two-year-old. While I enjoyed the flavor from the chipotle crema and corn. While I wish they had been a bit more generous with the chorizo, I remember there being a decent amount of cheese. My husband went with something completely different that I've never seen him order before - the Acai Bowl! It comes topped with strawberries, banana, kiwi, blueberries and granola. We expected the consistency of the açaí to be like a smoothie, but it was actually harder as if it had been frozen like a sorbet. Both hubby and kiddo enjoyed this dish along with the side of toast with almond butter. I'm pretty sure my mom gets the same thing every time - the Club sandwich. So I guess she likes it! I love the new updated look of this First watch. The service was also great! For a Monday morning, they were pretty busy and I was a bit surprised since this isn't a heavy business area. My scrambled eggs and bacon were really good. The reason why it gets 3 stars is because my pancakes weren't done in the middle. So they were soggy and full of batter. Yuck! I also wish they offer just regular old buttermilk pancakes but i suppose the purpose of this place is to be healthy-ish. My wife and I came here on a Friday morning for brunch. I was actually surprised to see the restaurant nearly full. We've been to First Watch before, but it was a few years ago. This location recently opened up near us, so we decided to stop by. Food: In my opinion, you can't have breakfast or brunch without orange juice. They have delicious, fresh squeezed orange juice. It's sweet and heavy on the pulp, just as I like it. The other half had their fresh coffee. I ordered the chikichanga, which is some combination of egg, chicken, cheese, with some salsas, sour creams and avocado. It's a bit too much going on, with too many flavors getting lost in the mix. But it was fresh, a generous portion, and had large pieces of fresh avocado. My wife ordered the frittata rustica, which was huge, and delicious. I ended up liking her entree more than mine. Neither of us liked the home style potatoes; their soft and not as crispy as we like home fries to be. We will try again and order different items off the menu next time. Service: We were seated promptly, with a nearly full restaurant. As we left around 11AM, we saw a queue to be seated forming. Our server quickly came to take our drink orders, and was back just as quickly to take our food orders. The food came out in good time, before I even started to wonder where it was. She checked in with us just enough to keep us taken care of without hovering. Facilities: It's in a newly built building next to Noodle & Co on the Northgate Mall area. There is ample parking available immediately out front. The restaurant it self is very bright, with lots of natural light. The tables are spaced apart well, so you're not sitting on top of each other. There's also an outdoor seating area, but it was too chilly today for us to take advantage. read more

I love that they always have seasonal specials so you can try something new each time you go. They happened to have "holey donuts" this time with a chocolate glaze that was to die for! Upon arrival, we were greated and immediately sat in a very deep sitting booth. Though a booth, it was very comfortable, even for larger people. Looking around, I noticed that patrons were dressed in very casual attire. Two girls were wearing work out gear, while an elderly woman was wearing a dress. In additon, the atmosphere was very relaxing. I ordered an omelet and decaf coffee. The coffee came quickly, was hot, and labeled inside a carafe. I was very particular about the preparation of my omelet, requiring several items on the side. It came exactly how I requested. While eating, I could tell that the food was prepared with freshly chopped ingredients. I enjoyed my omelet, but didn't care much for the potatoes. (I'm a picky eater.)
