I visited before a work meeting and was happy to see a nice selection of breakfast skillets which are my favorite. I ordered the corn beef and Brussel sprouts skillet that was on special. My waitress wasn't very attentive and ended my visit by charging my credit card for not only my meal but another patrons meal as well. I was told the incorrect amount had been refunded but could not be provided a printed receipt showing the refund amount. The manager told me to take a picture of their screen showing refund and gave me his business card. The gumbo had a surprising amount of shrimp and was tasty but a little greasy. the chicken was two breaded chicken tenders on 1/2 Belgium waffle and both were good. A side of warm honey was provided for dipping. The omelet was big and very tasty. It looked like it had at least 3 eggs. It came with an English muffin and a fruit cup. I thought the prices were on the high side ($36.81 with tax) but not outrageous and the portion size on both orders was more than we could eat. Our waitress Celia was prompt and courteous. I ate breakfast here on Sunday 8/31. The hostess at the stand did not greet me as I approached instead she said how many is in your party, what's your phone number? Nothing about how long the wait was going to take, just wanted my phone number to add me to the waitlist. It was a horrible first impression. Almost left and go to IHOP but I decided to wait. The weight was about 10 minutes. Got to our seat and ordered our drinks and they brought us plastic cups with our beverage, saying they were out of glasses. There was a minimal wait for a table, however I would suggest you go online to enter their waitlist just in case. After we were seated there was a considerable wait to be greeted for our drink orders, despite the crew chatting nearby our table. I eventually asked the hostess if someone was assigned to our table - we were greeted shortly after. The place is hopping and a bit loud but still relaxed. This is a nice brunch place that has a southern-inspired taste. The menu has all the classics like eggs and pancakes, but you'll also find more unique options like omelets with lobster and crawfish or pound cake French toast. The food is good and reliable but nothing especially outstanding. I would recommend getting a few different sweet/savory dishes to share to get a taste of everything, especially a side of Biscuit Beignets. I got the Hashbrown Benedict with a side of home fries. Overall it just lacked a bit in seasoning and flavor. The food does come out quickly, but the service from our waitress lacked. She was very slow to take our order or help with anything else. I would never recommend these. The beignets were not good. they were warm upon arrival and fairly soft. after leaving them for a bit and coming back several minutes later and they were hard. like hard to break apart. This is the best breakfast place I've ever been to. I'm not a big breakfast fan but Another Broken Egg Cafe has me questioning my judgement. Their variety of food and drink offerings make it hard to choose what you want. I decided on a spiced rum cold brew (delicious) and later on the Abe Famous Infused Mary (perfect!) to drink. I went with the Crab Cake Benedict and my husband got a burger (he is also not a breakfast lover). We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and both cleaned our plates. While I'd like an option for side salads or fresh vegetables, the regular menu has a few healthier choices that are still very tasty. My partner got the pound cake french toast, which was much more like pound cake than french toast, and I got a "skinnylicious" omelette with sausage. Both had large servings of fresh fruit, and sizable entree portions (full lunch and some to take home). Brunch here was great! My friend and I met up to grab a meal, and joined the waitlist on Yelp at about 10:15 on a Sunday. Only complaint with the visit- what was estimated to be a 30 minute wait was almost an hour. When we were seated, our server was very prompt and helpful with menu selections. I got the Another broken egg biscuit- a biscuit with a medium egg, gravy and fried chicken, served with potatoes. This biscuit sandwich hit the spot! I have been wanting to try Another Broken Egg for sometime now. Today was the day. I was seated immediately at a two seater high top near the hostess stand and entrance. At first I was concerned I wasn't going to get served but after about two minutes of thinking that, my very nice server appeared. I had to decided to try their seasonal cucumber mint mojito mocktail. This was unfortunately siderailed by the bar tender coming up to me to let me know they did not have cucumber. I opted to keep the same mocktail 86'ing the cucumber. It was still delicious but I'm sure the cucumber would have been a nice added layer of flavor and freshness. While waiting, there were anywhere from three to four staff sitting around a table in front of me having a good ole time. It appeared they didn't have any takes to complete and in my previous restaurant management should have been cut for the day. Their hooting and hollering just made for a less enjoyable experience. I then ordered their Blackstone Eggs Benedict. It has grilled tomatoes and crumbled bacon with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin. It came out and was tasty along with their country potatoes that were perfectly cooked and delicious. My only negative to this dish was their definition of grilled tomato. I guess I was thinking differently than just a tomato quickly tossed on a grill but nonetheless it was still good. Overall the meal was delicious and Shenika J was a great attentive server!! Let me paint you a picture. I was sitting at the stop light on Tylersville & Cox. I was on my way to one of my units for work, and out of the corner of my eye I see a restaurant. Not just any restaurant, mind you, as there's a ridiculous amount of food options lining Tylersville Rd. On the corner though, there's a shining Mecca for breakfast that's simply titled "Another Broken Egg Cafe". Basic? Yes. Am I basic? Also, yes. Therefore, it was put on my list to try out. After looking up their menu, I found they were a chain. Normally, I try to stick with local establishments, but their menu options were too much to pass up. They have a LOT of seafood options and the sides & drinks sounded divine! Yelp has a waitlist that somewhat helps with the wait. On the weekdays, you should usually be fine to walk in, but don't even THINK about walking in on a weekend unless you have 2+ hours to kill. Since I live on the other side of town, I usually check in on Yelp, and by the time I get there I'm in the top 10 of the list. Only once have I gotten in within 5 minutes of arriving - but a 20-30 minute wait beats a 2 hour wait anyway. The restaurant is large and adheres well to social distancing guidelines. I've only eaten here in the past year, so I don't know whether or not they pack in tables closer in normal times. You'll notice many inventive options on their menu, starting with the drinks. I stuck to the always strong salted caramel cold brew the first few times I came, but I was even more impressed with the blackberry vanilla mimosa. I've ordered a pitcher the last two times I came with people - sharing is caring, my friends! Anything you order can have a small side of their signature beignets added to it for a nominal fee - but there's a good chance your server will ask if you'd like to start with them as well. I personally like them! I enjoy powdered sugar dough. I'm not a huge fan of the orange marmalade side, but given that the dough is literally leftover biscuit dough, it makes sense. However, don't feel the need to add them if you're not automatically interested. They're not make or break bread. I've ordered quite a bit on their menu, and only once have I been disappointed. (It was a seasonal breakfast pizza from last fall - raw onion, sausage gravy, candied bacon, & arugula do NOT mix!) The omelettes are GONORMOUS and filled to the max with toppings. I could not believe the amount of real lobster I was receiving in a $15.99 omelette! Their Benedicts are also delicious. For some reason, they never seem to come on English muffins, but you can substitute whatever bread you'd like. Their sides are also amazing! I could order a side of the city grits and the seasoned potatoes alone and call it a day! The service, for the most part, is good. I did not get into the restaurant until 1pm one weekend, and my server during that visit made me feel rushed. Honestly, the wait time issue & that experience leaving such a bad taste in my mouth that it's why they're receiving 4 stars instead of 5. The other times the service has been adequate to stellar, but one bad impression changes everything. Nonetheless, you can ask me to continue on my Ted , or you can start your waitlist time to get into Another Broken Egg. Let's start off with recommending you "Join the waitlist" on their site before you go. We did this and the wait list quote 45-80 minutes still resulted in a total wait time of 95 minutes. It was nice to not have to spend that entire wait at the restaurant. I ordered the vegetable omelette w/English muffin, fried potatoes and a cranberry mimosa. The drink and food came out quickly. So quickly, we didn't have silverware or get a chance to ask for any. No big deal, bc our server or someone would stop by and check to make sure our food came out ok/correct, right? Nope. Ten minutes later, we still didn't have silverware and had been unable to flag anyone down. So we went to the hostess station to ask for help. She gave us a single set of silverware. We were able to butter our muffins while we waited for a second set. So about 15-20 minutes after our food arrived we finally had forks! Our food was barely above cold. However, the omelette was made well and the English muffin was toasted. The potatoes were deep fried, which I was not ready for and did not have a lot of flavor, but would probably be ok with some kind of dipping sauce. (Did not get a chance to ask for any) Our server finally showed at our table, for the first time since taking our order, when we were almost finished eating to see if we wanted to order anything else.
