Outstanding Breakfast Spot in Mason! This was our third visit to Maple Street Biscuit Company in Mason, and it never disappoints. Whenever we're in the area for Kings Island, this is our go-to breakfast spot--and for good reason. The food is outstanding and clearly lives up to its Food Network feature. This visit I ordered The Squawking Goat, the hand-breaded chicken is perfectly crispy, the goat cheese is rich and creamy, and the signature pepper jelly ties everything together with the perfect sweet-heat balance. Their Biscuits & Gravy, especially smothered in the mushroom gravy, are comforting, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My son and I enjoyed our meals very much. Consistently great food, generous portions, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere make Maple Street Biscuit Company a must-stop whenever we're in Mason. We'll definitely be back again!
I came to Maple Street for the first time and ordered their Grits Bowl and a hot chocolate. Unfortunately, the hot chocolate I received was room temperature (and with the whipped cream, almost cold). The grits were alright, albeit a little dry and also not very warm. The whites on the sunny side up egg were slightly undercooked around the yolk, but overall it was fine. My friend ordered a side of bacon and Sweet Grace (chocolate chip waffles and strawberries) without the powdered sugar. It came with maple syrup and she enjoyed it! Ordering and payment happens up front, and customers are given a number and there is self-seating. The food is brought to the table but there is an area for customers to bring their dirty dishes once done. The employees were very kind, and I'd be willing to come again to try their biscuits! I may have just come on an off day and ordered a less popular item.
On way back to Columbus, and found Maple Street on way back. Food; was yummy and hit the stop. Bacon crisp, and the biscuit was tasty. Service; Exceptional, and let me tell you why. We came in, and my friend was in from out of town and accidently left her purse. We didn't realize until back in Columbus, after realizing we call the restaurant and they found it and secured the purse for us to come back. Once back, and retrieved the purse my friend tried to give a large tip for finding her purse and manager would not accept it.
chicken and waffles - 9.5/10 chicken tenders and tots - 9/10 Review heaven is a place on earth and its eating a plate of chicken and waffles at maple street biscuit co!!! the chicken was so tender and flavorful but so perfectly crisp on the outside. the waffles were unlike any other i've had! the flavor was so bold-- they were crispy but soft and fluffy at the same time. truly the perfect was texture. the tenders and tots were a classic combo too. robust and beaming with flavor. the chicken looks a little dry in these pics but do not be fooled!!! it was crispy and tender and great for sauce/syrup!! the service was nice enough and the restaurant was pretty clean for a quiet friday brunch. the lot has plenty of parking. also! it's close to king's island so if you're ever in the area, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

Since moving to Cincinnati, I've only been able to enjoy southern style sweet tea at three places- McDonald's, Roosters, and here. You order first and then wait to be served. Seems like a family friendly place. My chicken was crisp and fresh. The maple mustard was a twist on honey mustard which was pretty tasty. No flair to the tots. The biscuit was a little crunchy on the outside but moist and warm on the inside. It was ok. But super inexpensive for a quick brunch and it wasn't crowded. They also offer outdoor seating.
We've got our first Maple Street Biscuit Company franchise in the tri-state (that I know of) and I like to say it has potential, BUT they should really focus on never serving your customers plastic or old frozen potatoes. I really think I swallowed some plastic in this hash brown bowl. (see the green on the top center of my pic) I was constipated afterward. I know, TMI, but it was what it was!!! They apparently gave me a refund for not having the intended grits on order. As long as it took me to get this bowl they could have cooked me some grits and I'd have probably been better off, unless glass would be in it!! I cannot imagine having kinks to work out like this. It seems you have to afford throwing out old food accordingly. If you wouldn't eat it, don't serve it. I'm still waiting on a refund (for taking my grits bowl order but not having it available) that hasn't seemed to show any signs of happening on my bank account.
Our service was quick. Order at the counter and they will bring the food out to you. Our server was kind and helpful. The restaurant was very neat and clean. The food was tasty. My husband had the chicken club sandwich and he was distracted by the mess because it was so full of guacamole and dripping out everywhere. Do not try to eat this in the car while driving! I had a chicken biscuit and it was served with jelly. The server also brought us two cinnamon biscuits for free! That was super nice and they were definitely a sweet treat with the icing. We would come back again if we are in the area.
This place was incredible. We came over from Great Wolf Lodge looking for a better breakfast experience and absolutely got it. Alanna helped me pick out some of the best breakfast food I've ever had. The Farmer was unreal and my kids loved their little waffles. Service was impeccable and the food came out just as ordered without much of a wait! The restaurant was spotless and the bathrooms were as well. We will make this part of our trip every time.

The fried green tomatoes were just average, and the portions overall felt small for the price. Also, the cleanliness of the restaurant could have been better. Unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience, and I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

The waffle with strawberries, however, was underwhelming. We also ordered a $6 orange juice, and when it arrived, it was only three-quarters full. My husband asked for a refill, which they reluctantly provided. The location is fantastic, so I'm sure they'll continue to do well, but I don't think I'll be returning.
I phoned in my order for pick up, not realizing that there is a counter inside to order at. It took forever for them to answer but eventually I got through to the sweetest lady. I ordered the smashbrown, egg and cheese biscuit which was ready for me within 10 minutes! I was offered a coffee on the house but did not partake. Great service! Once I made it out to the car, I realized my eggs were not made how I ordered and indicated on my receipt. I was not a fan of the smashbrown and won't order again but the biscuit was delish and the cheese was a good quality. It was very clean inside with ample parking. I'm willing to give Maple Street another try.

All in all a good experience and meal. I got the Retro Breakfast (eggs, biscuits, has browns, and bacon) with the spicy sausage gravy and a cold brew with cold foam. The coffee was delightful. A little sweeter than I anticipated, but it wasn't overwhelming at all. The meal was solid and was delivered to the table quickly. While the biscuit was biscuiting, I've gotta give five gold stars to the spicy sausage gravy. I doubt it's made in-house, but it definitely tasted homemade! As a bonus, they brought out complimentary Bonuts to our table... Initially we had no idea what we were eating... but we finished them, which should tell ya' they were delish. read more

I was blown away by this place. The food came very quick. The staff was very friendly. I got the Sticky Maple and Smash browns. Both were delicious. The biscuit was super soft, moist, and flaky. The chicken was well seasoned or tender. Most places have been making chicken sandwiches very dry lately so I was scared to try but this did not disappoint. The maple syrup on top really tied everything together. I would get both items again in a heart beat. read more
I was out for a drive this morning and wanted something different for brunch. So off to yelp I went and I found MSB. I walked it to the smells of yummy food and the sounds of a lot of people. I placed my order, I ordered the five & dime and smash browns, and got my number. Walked back to get some coffee. I got the medium roast. Let me start by saying. I am not a fan of the coffee, it tastes like flavored coffee. I will not take away any stars because this just may be the business decision around coffee. Next time I will get a latte. I sat down and barely took a sip of my coffee before my food showed up. Wow that was fast. The smash browns are very yummy. Would order again. The five & dime has a slight kick to the gravy. Very good, but I will probably skip on my next visit. I mean I don't eat much spice anymore due to stomach issues. But wow it is so good. I wish I could eat this often. So do I recommend them. Yes. Fast service. Good food, I am just not a huge fan of the coffee. If I had come here just for coffee this review would be different, but I came for the food. I will be back and can't wait to do so. Grand opening day Walk in , order, be seated. Farmer biscuit, grits, chicken and waffle, blueberry scone, coffee and milk $39. Southerner take on the grits was a bit chunky. Enjoyed the free cinnamon biscuits. Missing extra plate and syrup so my hubby got up to get it from the counter, walking by management and employees that didn't ask to help. The price point combined with the order at the counter for breakfast/brunch something to consider. read more

You need to try this place if you like biscuits and gravy. I'm typically not a fan of them personally but we tried it on a whim and I have to say, it's pretty amazing. We're got some standard fare items including coffee and eggs with our biscuits. The coffee was very different and tasty, with "a hint of maple" per the carafe, and it was very nice. Scrambled eggs were good with a hint of buttery flavor. The shoe stopper was the biscuits and gravy. Fresh, crunchy biscuits, big chunks of sausage in the gravy, but the gravy itself, wow! It's got a peppery taste to it most would almost say is heat spicy, but it flashes on your tongue then disappears, I'm guessing some cayenne pepper in the mix? Not sure, but very much enjoyed it and will be back. That's the highest praise a restaurant can ask for, a return visit. read more

Food is excellent but the cold foam was mixed in my cold brew when I received it which was odd and it didn't taste good. Not sure if it wasn't fresh/wasn't made correct or not good coffee but I got a maple vanilla latte my next visit and it was wonderful. read more

Stopped by Saturday afternoon for a late brunch option. It's counter service but the cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. The maple vanilla latte was excellent with made in house flavorings and alt milk options. I got the spinach, egg, and cheese biscuit--they customize the egg however you want and the goat cheese was an elevated touch. Our table split the fried green tomatoes (didn't love the breading/ranch combo) and the smash browns (excellent). Will definitely return! read more

Very cute place. Not busy Saturday morning which was surprising. Menu was amazing, fresh squeezed orange juice. Honey maple cold brew. So, now taste. To be a biscuit place they need to up the biscuit. Kinda hard, not soft and fluffy. Food presentation awesome but taste just average. Work on taste of the biscuit if that is your specialty. Coffee ok but not great, when I asked to make it sweeter they didn't know what I meant. Very nice workers just need some more training. read more

I'm so excited that my favorite breakfast spot from Florida has made it Cincinnati!!! It's in Mason and I loved it. My hubby and I decided to drop in this morning for breakfast. Yummy! The Squawking Goat is still my favorite breakfast sandwich. Hubby had his favorite biscuit and gravy dish. We did notice that the menu has been greatly reduced but all of the favorites are still there. We also were disappointed to find out that they do not carry the coffee mugs for this location. We had hoped to continue our collection of location mugs. The service was incredible. The vibe was great. The look of the store is clean and bright. Do not sleep on this place y'all! Incredibly fast service despite a small crowd. Food was fresh and well prepared. The biscuits have the perfect amount of flakiness and density. Homemade berry jam is a must try. Love that they let me sample the iced cinnamon biscuit which will be a must purchase with every trip. However the must have is the coffee. For a place that doesn't specialize in it, the medium roast was flavorful and robust. read more

We decided to meet up with friends who were in town for the holidays and they actually suggested this spot because they were staying in the area. We hadn't heard of it so we were down to try. When we arrived we jumped right in line to order and then were able to seat ourselves. Our meals were up super fast, I'd say less than 8 minutes, which was perfect because I was hungry from watching all the meals arrive around me lol. I had the hash bowl with goat cheese and it was Dee-Lish-Shous!!! I tried not to be greedy and save some for later but I had to finish it all. I tried my friend's biscuits and gravy and was pleasantly surprised by the creamy homemade taste and the moist buttery biscuit. And I'll add that the fried green tomatoes also had a good fry to them that gave them a great crunch. I enjoyed my time there, and the waitress was great as well. She checked in on us regularly and even offered to take our group picture. I'll be back to take my family for sure. read more

The food is delicious me and my kiddos are all addicted to their biscuits and gravy eggtreme. Their chicken tenders are also very delicious and juicy. I have also tried their loaded tater tots. The inside is bigger than it appears from the outside. This was my first time visiting. I was surprised to walk in and see a counter you order at, I was expecting to be able to sit down at a table with a menu. I ordered the retro plate with gravy. The eggs and smash browns were delicious but the bacon was more on the burnt side. The gravy was definitely spicy and had a kick to it which I wasn't expecting. It wasn't my favorite. I would go back specifically for the smash browns. The rest was so-so. After ordering they gave me a number to leave on the table of my choosing and they drop off the food.
