Yawn... Another corporate bruch spot that over promises, under delivers, and seems proud of it. Dry and NOT flaky biscuits. Sausage gravy that tastes heavily of flour. Maybe it was because it was 11am? Who knows. What I do know is that Pillsbury makes better biscuits. Order at the counter, they bring you your food. Dirty tables. Lots of staff. No real excuse. We ordered the chicken and waffles and the waffle was soft and perfect with the salty chicken and sweet syrup. We also ordered the loaded potatoes that were good it came with two. This is place where you order at the counter and then find a table and grab your drinks. It was pretty empty on an early Sunday morning but could handle a large crowds. Whenever we're in the area for Kings Island, this is our go-to breakfast spot--and for good reason. The food is outstanding and clearly lives up to its Food Network feature. This visit I ordered The Squawking Goat, the hand-breaded chicken is perfectly crispy, the goat cheese is rich and creamy, and the signature pepper jelly ties everything together with the perfect sweet-heat balance. This place was incredible. We came over from Great Wolf Lodge looking for a better breakfast experience and absolutely got it. Alanna helped me pick out some of the best breakfast food I've ever had. The Farmer was unreal and my kids loved their little waffles. Service was impeccable and the food came out just as ordered without much of a wait! The grits were alright, albeit a little dry and also not very warm. The whites on the sunny side up egg were slightly undercooked around the yolk, but overall it was fine. My friend ordered a side of bacon and Sweet Grace (chocolate chip waffles and strawberries) without the powdered sugar. It came with maple syrup and she enjoyed it! Ordering and payment happens up front, and customers are given a number and there is self-seating. The food is brought to the table but there is an area for customers to bring their dirty dishes once done. The employees were very kind, and I'd be willing to come again to try their biscuits! On way back to Columbus, and found Maple Street on way back. Food; was yummy and hit the stop. Bacon crisp, and the biscuit was tasty. Service; Exceptional, and let me tell you why. We came in, and my friend was in from out of town and accidently left her purse. We didn't realize until back in Columbus, after realizing we call the restaurant and they found it and secured the purse for us to come back. Since moving to Cincinnati, I've only been able to enjoy southern style sweet tea at three places- McDonald's, Roosters, and here. You order first and then wait to be served. Seems like a family friendly place. My chicken was crisp and fresh. The maple mustard was a twist on honey mustard which was pretty tasty. No flair to the tots. The biscuit was a little crunchy on the outside but moist and warm on the inside. It was ok. But super inexpensive for a quick brunch and it wasn't crowded. My husband had the chicken club sandwich and he was distracted by the mess because it was so full of guacamole and dripping out everywhere. Do not try to eat this in the car while driving! I ordered the smashbrown, egg and cheese biscuit which was ready for me within 10 minutes! I was offered a coffee on the house but did not partake. Great service! Once I made it out to the car, I realized my eggs were not made how I ordered and indicated on my receipt. The chicken was well seasoned or tender. Most places have been making chicken sandwiches very dry lately so I was scared to try but this did not disappoint. We've got our first Maple Street Biscuit Company franchise in the tri-state (that I know of) and I like to say it has potential, BUT they should really focus on never serving your customers plastic or old frozen potatoes. I really think I swallowed some plastic in this hash brown bowl. (see the green on the top center of my pic) I was constipated afterward. I know, TMI, but it was what it was!!! They apparently gave me a refund for not having the intended grits on order. As long as it took me to get this bowl they could have cooked me some grits and I'd have probably been better off, unless glass would be in it!! I cannot imagine having kinks to work out like this. It seems you have to afford throwing out old food accordingly. If you wouldn't eat it, don't serve it. I'm still waiting on a refund (for taking my grits bowl order but not having it available) that hasn't seemed to show any signs of happening on my bank account. read more

I was out for a drive this morning and wanted something different for brunch. So off to yelp I went and I found MSB. I walked it to the smells of yummy food and the sounds of a lot of people. I placed my order, I ordered the five & dime and smash browns, and got my number. Walked back to get some coffee. I got the medium roast. Let me start by saying. I am not a fan of the coffee, it tastes like flavored coffee. I will not take away any stars because this just may be the business decision around coffee. Next time I will get a latte. I sat down and barely took a sip of my coffee before my food showed up. Wow that was fast. The smash browns are very yummy. Would order again. The five & dime has a slight kick to the gravy. Very good, but I will probably skip on my next visit. I mean I don't eat much spice anymore due to stomach issues. But wow it is so good. I wish I could eat this often. So do I recommend them. Yes. Fast service. Good food, I am just not a huge fan of the coffee. If I had come here just for coffee this review would be different, but I came for the food. I will be back and can't wait to do so. We're got some standard fare items including coffee and eggs with our biscuits. The coffee was very different and tasty, with "a hint of maple" per the carafe, and it was very nice. Scrambled eggs were good with a hint of buttery flavor. The shoe stopper was the biscuits and gravy. Fresh, crunchy biscuits, big chunks of sausage in the gravy, but the gravy itself, wow! It's got a peppery taste to it most would almost say is heat spicy, but it flashes on your tongue then disappears, I'm guessing some cayenne pepper in the mix? Not sure, but very much enjoyed it and will be back. That's the highest praise a restaurant can ask for, a return visit. read more

The maple vanilla latte was excellent with made in house flavorings and alt milk options. Very cute place. Not busy Saturday morning which was surprising. Menu was amazing, fresh squeezed orange juice. Honey maple cold brew. So, now taste. To be a biscuit place they need to up the biscuit. Kinda hard, not soft and fluffy. Food presentation awesome but taste just average. Work on taste of the biscuit if that is your specialty. I'm so excited that my favorite breakfast spot from Florida has made it Cincinnati!!! It's in Mason and I loved it. My hubby and I decided to drop in this morning for breakfast. Yummy! The Squawking Goat is still my favorite breakfast sandwich. Hubby had his favorite biscuit and gravy dish. We did notice that the menu has been greatly reduced but all of the favorites are still there. We also were disappointed to find out that they do not carry the coffee mugs for this location. We had hoped to continue our collection of location mugs. The service was incredible. The vibe was great. The look of the store is clean and bright. Do not sleep on this place y'all! We decided to meet up with friends who were in town for the holidays and they actually suggested this spot because they were staying in the area. We hadn't heard of it so we were down to try. When we arrived we jumped right in line to order and then were able to seat ourselves. Our meals were up super fast, I'd say less than 8 minutes, which was perfect because I was hungry from watching all the meals arrive around me lol. I had the hash bowl with goat cheese and it was Dee-Lish-Shous!!! I tried not to be greedy and save some for later but I had to finish it all. I tried my friend's biscuits and gravy and was pleasantly surprised by the creamy homemade taste and the moist buttery biscuit. I was surprised to walk in and see a counter you order at, I was expecting to be able to sit down at a table with a menu. I ordered the retro plate with gravy. The eggs and smash browns were delicious but the bacon was more on the burnt side. The gravy was definitely spicy and had a kick to it which I wasn't expecting. It wasn't my favorite. After your food is brought to you, you won't see anyone at your table. Orange juice is fresh squeezed and delicious, but not cold. Room temperature at best. Other drinks are self serve at a drink station at the opposite end of the restaurant. The food was actually flavorful, but overcooked. Both the hash browns and bacon were cooked a little too long. Biscuits and gravy were good, but don't expect your typical restaurant gravy. We went with the spicy gravy and it was good if you're open to a different flavor of gravy.
