Your hometown diner. Is reasonable and basic. Eggs cooked good and sausage was good. Breakfast potatoes nasty

Adorable vintage diner with all-day breakfast, dinner plates, and PIE. Opened in 1946, Hyde's offers your classics...roast beef, fried chicken, etc. They also serve breakfast all day and have daily pie specials. Like others have mentioned, parking can be difficult, but it's worth it. The service was fast and friendly, and the food wasn't fancy, but it was delicious. The restaurant, itself, maintains its vintage ambiance, but seems clean and well-maintained. It is legit.

Great food and service. Definitely would recommend for a good breakfast. They even have old fashioned candy up at the register.

The dry and chewy Roast Beef

Been a few since I was last here. Had the roast beef with mashed potatoes and green beans. The roast beef was insanely dry, like eating leather. Food wasn't hot at hot, beans were okay, at best. Wife had the liver and onions and had the same experience. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our waiter was a solid fella, John I think was his name. Atmosphere was okay, seemed like a an old folks home type of place. We brought the average age down by 10 minutes. Definitely not worth what we paid at all.

    French toast (1/2 eaten piece)

Our first visit here we could not have found a more inviting place for breakfast. Wife had French toast which she enjoyed. I had the Western omelette that was cooked perfect. It was a stuffed omelette with more topping on top and the hash browns are crispy and tasty and not overly salty. The biscuit was the real star of my meal. These are never frozen. Never out of a can-biscuits made fresh each day and you will tell that from the first bite you take. No butter needed because the butter is baked right in. Service was great even though they were very crowded. We had to wait slightly longer than normal for a meal but they kept us apprised of the wait and the meal was delivered very hot and fresh off the grill. We will be back and would encourage you to go if you've not been there before.

The food was absolutely terrible! Service was great though. The egg on the omelette was paper thin, the veggies were hardly cooked. And there was NO CHEESE on it. Then when she brought our plates back with cheese all they did was slap on some American slices..... didn't even melt them. This was one of the worst experiences and to have this experience on Mother's Day. I don't think I will ever be going back to Hyde's again.

It's a great place to go if you want to sit down and have a meal. Last time we went the quality of the food seems like it slipped.

The place was packed but the food and service were excellent. I wish we had this near where we live!

This hotel is a birds eye view of the Saginaw River and should you be lucky enough to have a room where you have a view of the river, you may also see a glimpse of the water fountain right in the middle of the little plaza area. The rooms (stayed more than once) are clean as is the pool, public restroom and hotel lobby. The restaurant there has a menu that should please the whole family. The area surrounding it is a welcome sign for a hotel as they have a bank, spa, hair salon, ice cream parlor, a few restaurants and a coffee shop, all within a stones throw of the hotel. Should you want to stroll, you can go down to the river walk that has benches to accommodate you. You can sit, ponder your thoughts and gaze at the reflection of the sun, coming off the water. You may want to watch the speed boats go by, or be interested in a fisherman casting his, or her, line, maybe within a few feet of you. If, you are lucky enough, you may see one of the big ships come through the channel. This hotel is located just a block or two from downtown Bay City, and off the one way coming into town. It's almost a world away in amenities, and comfortable surroundings. A great place to stay for business or spend a few days or more for pleasure, even with family.

Although I like the Buddha bowl, thought I'd try the Northstar burger and chicken avocado sandwich. Today was a particularly warm day for March so they had the windows open which created a nice breeze. The line took a bit of time to get to the front but the staff was extremely nice and was able to make substitutions. There a lot of seating so whether you are a party of 1 or 8 there's plenty of areas to eat. The food took about 30 minutes to arrive with the kitchen backed up. There's a self serve water station so we relaxed and took in the ambiance. There's food emphasizes fresh ingredients and the burger and chicken sandwich did not disappoint. The burger is vegetarian friendly and comes with a good portion of kale slaw. The chicken sandwich was stacked tall and super filling. Would recommend to try!
