Fast service to seating, first round of coffee was fast. After that service was sluggish. 2nd round of coffee was lukewarm and returned. Splenda packets added to table as it was "out", OJ arrived and was very tasty-excellent in my opinion. Fast bustling restaurant with a good atmosphere. Super busy on our Sunday morning. My Benedict Arnold with corned beef needs some rethinking. Thinly sliced corned beef seemed like a desire to cut costs over flavor. The hash potatoes were sub par, not hot, not really flavorful- though I did not return the dish. The French Toast Fruity Tooty was a hit. The biscuits & gravy 1/2 order was considered bland. Guest thought the sausage was unremarkable. They have too many items on the menu in my opinion and therefore to many to make very well. I would come back for the pancakes as they appeared huge but I needed some protein as I fly out today. Plus the fresh OJ was fresh and delicious.

Wow where do I start? When we got there we didn't have to wait and were seated in the front area and away from the door. However as more people came in and there was a wait for seating people would hold open and the inside set of doors and the cold air would fill the room. At this point we were always cold from the winter temps blasting in. Then comes our server who seemed to be a dud with no personality who also seamed to ghost us at times. She did finally take our order after bringing our drinks except for my wife's diet. She blamed the bar and said, those came from the bar. My wife asked again and then I asked again then it finally showed up. Next comes refills on the diet and coffee which we had to ask for. Our order came out and was hot but not quite right since some of the orders were written down incorrectly. That all was straightened out fairly quick. I got the meat lovers omelette as did my son and I thought it was really boring and almost flavorless. Probably because it seemed very dry. Then comes the shocking discovery of the tip to the whipped cream dispenser buried in the whipped cream on top of my daughter in laws pancakes. (Photo attached) My son asked the manager to come over and she did. She was very apologetic and asked if we wanted it remade or if my DIL wanted something else. She said no and I asked that it be taken off of our bill and the manager agreed and said that she was going to do that anyway. My DIL then decided that she wanted something to go since the rest of us were nearly finished eating. She ordered a sandwich. Now one would think they would comp that meal to go since they were the reason she didn't get to eat with the rest of the family but no it was on our bill. I didn't say anything about it except to my wife and we left. I had been to this restaurant before and so have my son and his wife who stop by more than us because they live close. Typically it is good but we always feel like a they are rushing us out to turn over the tables. Today is more than likely my last visit.

This is THE destination for a fantastic brunch. It's clean, bright, comfortable, with cheerful and very well-trained staff, and the food is out of this world. Such a great selection of Benedicts, brunch plates including Monte Cristo sandwich and chicken & waffles, all kinds of breakfast meat options, full bar, plus burgers and sammies too if you're more inclined to the lunch mode. They know how to make a great over easy egg, the butter provided is soft, and their house blend coffee is rich and delicious without a trace of bitter. It gets busy, obviously, so be prepared for a potential wait which will have to be out of doors or in your car. Not to worry, they'll find you. I have found the wait times to be accurate. So glad I had a chance to get back here today. I won't wait so long for next time when I plan to finally get the chicken & waffle! Patterson's- love it. Come early, come often.

There is a line. 12:15 on Saturday

I stopped in at Patterson's Cafe yesterday just a little after noon. There was a line at the door of people that were waiting for a table. This was a Saturday. I had read the reviews before I stopped to eat and I had read that they had problems with service and also the hostess not telling you what was going on. I saw none of this yesterday. When the hostess came to my name she recognized that it was me she walked over to me and said I have this table ready or you can sit at the bar. This table was a two top and I was by myself. I chose to sit at the bar. This was my first time in Patterson's Cafe and I was there because I had a $25 gift certificate I had been given. I believe the bartender's name was Lily and she is the one who took my order. To start I ordered the Irish Coffee for a starter, it had Jameson Irish whiskey, kahlua, coffee, and whipped cream. This was an excellent way to start my meal. I ordered the Patterson's Irish Burger. Instead of a bun there was the boxty. The Irish Boxty is a potato pancake. Next time I would order a hamburger with a bun instead I wasn't a big fan of the potato pancake but the burger was delicious. Overall I had a very good meal and I had excellent service. I will stop here again the next time that I am in Oxford.

    Pancake

My pancake and sausage were only cooked on one side and the potatoes were cold and crunchy. It was an $18 breakfast that I barely ate. They were busy, but if this is what they have to do to get food out fast, it's not worth it. We were seated at the bar and the server watched us the whole time. She didn't say anything, didn't offer to replace the food, she didn't even ask us how our meal was , she simply brought us the check because she knew I wasn't eating it.

I never shut up about this place. Being an Oxford local I visit often! I will say they have always been busy, but WORTH the wait. We sat up at the bar and loved watching the freshly squeezed orange juice machine. Both the bartenders were very attentive and managed customers and server tickets efficiently. The menu has many options for both lunch and dinner. When you go you MUST try the orange juice, although their bloody mary's are amazing as well

Just had a simple scrambled egg breakfast and my son had avocado toast and bill was $40....really Oxford?

Do not recommend if attending with a service animal. Was denied entrance when shown official documents for ESA... for a army veteran.

First visit and was a nice one too! The quaint storefront in uptown for a start. But also friendly…read moreservice and a good sandwich value as well. Parking is my meter in front of their business. It's tiny inside with a few tables that will likely be occupied by Miami University students. None of the tables were being wiped down and all of the napkins were depleted. They had ample supply statue register. Order at the counter after reviewing the menu board.on the wall. It's a smallish menu that works well for them. They also open for breakfast which is newer post COVID. I got a hot pastrami on white and my daughter grilled cheese on white. Sandwiches come with a bag of chips. They offer fountain Coke product drinks and bottled. The joint has a NY Deli vibe which I like. With only three total staff, likely all students it was a bit slow on pulling the orders together. However I was not in a hurry either. The orders popped up 15 min or so and I paid at that time. Tip is off the machine. My daughter really liked her sandwich with fresh bread and gooey American cheese. The plating was no frills. Mine was very good as well with only complaint a section of fatty meat that should not have been used. In my opinion the sandwich should be served cut in half. The chips were good too! I can see myself being back on future visits. 3.5 rounding up.
