Today I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to visit the Food Fellas food…read moretruck? The chef's name is Matthew. He was delightful and helped me decide what exactly to put in my bowl. I knew I wanted tofu. I knew I couldn't have spicy today... but where did that leave me? We went over a ton of choices. I tasted things and deferred a bit this food knowledge. He makes the stuff. Asking what he thinks seemed natural. And, after a quick google before my Yelp to find their website (there is not one, just Facebook), I found, "Matthew Haury is a French trained Chef with Asian and Latin American influences. Food Fellas strives to bring a Cultural Street Fusion with a demand for Flavor." So, that sounds fancy. I'm pleased to say it was a huge success, though I'm not entirely certain what I ended up with. Saffron Spanish rice, mango salsa, Adobe tofu, corn, Asian sesame slaw... and I don't remember what sauce. But it was fantastic. I even talked two old ladies into trying tofu for the first time. The bowl of food was that alluring. The old ladies wanted tofu! I think I'm dedicated to this food truck. Where it goes, I will follow.

I was excited to try them, because I saw they won 2nd place at Taste of Cincinnati in 2017. I guess either the quality of their food heavily decreased since then or maybe their equipment wasn't working today? They serve the tacos cold. The tortilla shell was not warmed and was slightly cold as if it had been refrigerated prior to serving. The chicken and all the rest of the ingredients were cold as well. The overall texture was awful with an overly chewy tortilla shell and chicken. The flavor of the tortillas tasted store bought and not homemade. The only redeeming piece of this meal was the chicken. The flavor was great and I'm sure it would even be better if it was warmed. Overall, I am sad I paid $9 for two tacos that honestly have been one of the most unsatisfying tacos I've ever tried. I definitely do not plan on trying this food truck again.

If that doesnt say how good it is then let me summarize it a little bit. The lobster feels Fresh, the bread its the perfect ratio for the BIG amount of lobster that they put on them, awesome flavors, great service and the price even though at first glance you may say its a little up there... LOOK AT THE PICS! They dont shy on the lobster meat, its well worth it. 'You wont finish the roll and stay with bread on the hand with no lobster, you may finish it and then use the fork for the lobster that fell on the plate' Highly recommend them!

My first experience was so good, I have been back several more times. Just a great family owned business. Lets talk about the Lobster roll. I am partial to the CT style, which is with butter. Their version was amazing. The roll was done just right. The lobster was high quality meaty chunks and there was plenty of it. It was cooked just right, tender and not rubbery! It comes with a side of Chips. My second try was the Meatball grinder. This was heaven. The meatballs and sauce are fantastic. Again, great bread too! Also comes with a side of chips. Now when I saw they had Hummel Hot Dogs, a New Haven CT Staple, I about lost it. They even had the correct bun, perfectly toasted. Its all about those little details! I enjoyed mine with kraut and cheese! Next up, the clam chowder... it had a nice smoky flavor to it. Finally, the baked Ziti and side of meatballs, which comes with Italian bread and butter. This sauce is "lick your plate clean" worthy. The pasta was al dente and again, these meatballs, omg. They still have several more items I need to try and ive seen some test menu items that are hopefully coming up that look so good! Okay so get the point? The staff were very nice and recommended the All-American Toll as one of their favorites- of course I had to try it. My father in law got the Southern roll and I wish we had ordered one of each to try them all. The All-American had ground beef, onions, cheddar cheese, pickle and was topped with tomato and their burger sauce. The Southern Roll had pulled pork and Mac and cheese and had bbq sauce drizzled over top. Both were delicious, crispy outside and flavorful combinations inside with some delicious sauces. From what I saw on their Instagram this is a new food truck, but if this meal is any indication, I can see it being really popular.
