Whoever the manager or supervisor is of this place is doing a very poor job. I THINK it's the pink haired lady with piercings but I'm not for sure. You can constantly hear her yelling at the employees, cussing, saying vulgar things, etc. I feel for the parents who want to take their children here. Their toasts are made in a "kitchen" aka a cutting board, the toast itself is ok at best. Coffee was okay, though the syrups I could purchase at a store myself. For how expensive this place is, it's ridiculous. The chairs are old and broken, everything squeaks, the decoration is wildly bizarre, the bathrooms are halfway broken, I could go on. Drip coffee is ok. Classic wrap was not worth the 25 minute wait. Offered up that someone took it, but I was at the counter waiting the entire time and no one took it. I went here two days in a row while visiting Oxford, OH not only because the location was convenient, but the coffee was that good. The first day I took my coffee to go, but on the second day, I sat and also got breakfast. The place has good wifi, plenty of seating, and a cozy atmosphere. I could see myself sitting there to do homework, meet with friends, etc... As for the food, I really enjoyed my veggie breakfast burrito. The black beans added the right extra flavor and it came out hot and fresh. It was the perfect amount of salty for my caramel latte, which you can tell that they use real caramel sauce in. It was sweet, but went so well with the espresso and satisfied my caffeine craving those mornings. If I'm back in town, I will be coming back here. read more

If your going to have one local coffee shop in town they better bring it! Well in this case Kofenya Coffee does a good, not great job in my single experience. Located in Uptown Oxford with off street parking by meter. The area was mostly debris free. My visit on a Sunday during brunch and Miami University move in late August. A line was out the door. The set up is similar to other coffee houses where you walk up and order and a case of bakery items are in a case. The space is large with lots of tables allowing for students to study, because make no mistake this is a huge Miami haunt. Service was friendly and efficient from the young female staff. Cappuccinos were ordered with a few bakery items and breakfast sandwich. The prices seem similar to other coffee houses. Payment is at the counter. My coffee was pretty good, the avocado toast was meh. My breakfast sandwich with bacon & egg above average. A banana pudding was meh. It was gluten free. A gluten free chocolate donut was good. Others at my table enjoyed what we shared a bit better than I did. A 3.5 seems to fit best and rounding up with strong customer service and above average coffee. Also don't miss the merch. read more

Let it be said that I love Kofenya coffee. The diamond cutter with oat milk is my go-to, or lavender when that's available since it's seasonal. London fog is also great as a non coffee option. The food here is a bit tough. The burritos are good but clearly prepped and way too salty. The avocado toast is just meh. The service is quick and the vibes in there are usually good but sometimes it is just way too packed. There was also a girl with her bare feet out on my most recent visit which made me gag. I've seen worse things in Oxford but not usually on a sober Tuesday afternoon. The point here is, skip the food and just stick with coffee and tea. The coffee is super smooth and the flavor combos keep it on the sweet side if you aren't a huge coffee person. read more

I moved to Dayton from Oakland, CA in July '22 and this was by far the best latte I've had since I've been out here. I dedicated years of my life to the coffee world (barista, roasting, and managing) and it was like drinking a latte I made myself. I got a hot caramel oat latte and the milk was steamed perfectly. Perfect temp. Perfect micro foam (especially for a non dairy milk.) Espresso was pulled beautifully it was sweet and nutty. I should have asked for the baristas name but the guy with the beard is an absolute treasure I hope he's paid well. Great selection of hot and cold drinks. Several options you wouldn't see or find at your typical coffee shop. I ended up just getting an iced mocha but still loved it. Prices were very reasonable and didn't make me go broke. They also had several local artist merchandise for purchase and various pastries from surrounding shops. Kofenya is the perfect college coffee shop. All the employees I've talked to are super nice and chatty, and the aesthetic in there is wonderful! I really like the cute dishes they present the food on as well. Although the avocado toast I bought was a little overpriced, (but let's be honest, when is avocado toast ever NOT overpriced in a hip coffee shop?) I still thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Warm and inviting. Took my two teenage daughters here around noon during a camp break. Students studying everywhere even thought it was Sunday after Thanksgiving. Waitstaff was nice. It's a nice change of pace and ambiance compared to the coffee place I frequent weekly. Love the wood floors and the couches. Nothing sterile about this place. Love the coffee, hate trying to find seating in here!! If you do this is by far one of the best study places in Oxford, which of course is why it is so busy. There is a wide range of coffees and teas, they also serve craft beers and wines. They are also environmentally conscious and encourage having your beverages served in cups instead of to-go cups.
