What a special place... the ambiance is so wonderful here, I want to come back again and again! We visited on an early evening as the sun was coming into the old house just perfectly and the leaves were falling outside. There is ample parking and a sweet park right outside (and the homes in the surrounding blocks are just beautiful, would be a great spot for a walk after getting coffee!) The inside is artsy which I loved. There are banding lanterns and stars and little painted details everywhere. Some m if it find it cluttered but it was perfect to me- reminded me of a college town hangout! It would be the perfect backdrop to a coffee date or heart to heart- cozy, refreshing, and peaceful. My husband ordered a strawberry smoothie and I ordered a London fog- both were quite sweet but enjoyable. One thing that piqued my interest was the flavor combos you could add to a latte- the True West, for example had fig and vanilla which sounded interesting! It was too late in the day for a latte for me but I would try that next time. The prices were also great- both of our drinks totaled around $7! The price of one drink at another shop. We sat upstairs- beautiful art on the walls, good views, and plenty of seating. There are 2 easily accessible and clean private bathrooms and a meeting room that it looks like you can reserve. The stairs are a little winding but plenty of more accessible seating on the first level, and they brought us up our drinks! Such a sweet spot! We'll be back! read more

We recently had a wonderful breakfast with lattes and bagels at True West Coffee in Hamilton, Ohio! Coffee shop vibes are always some of the homiest, creative, and inviting when the personal flair is there. It's ok. The cottage is cute, but it is too busy and too small to sit and enjoy yourself. They serve Deeper Roots coffee (amazing), but they manage to make the mixed drinks taste terrible (sure, let's pour stevia into 1 shot of espresso ig?). I only trust that the black coffee will taste ok. The food is ok, which means it is overpriced. I'm also surprised that they don't open until 8 am on the weekend, so there is usually 10-15 people already lined up outside. The only reason I'm not rating this place lower is because there are limited locations in the area that can serve a decent cup of coffee. It is just disappointing that the bar is so low. read more

It was kind of hard to here but I thought she said strawberry yogurt with granola turned out there were also a type of chopped but with the granola which I can't eat but that was okay I took a couple bites of my boyfriend's sandwich which that was good it was like a egg bacon avocado wrap I think. Placed a pickup order that was prepaid and walked into a line. Politely asked a worker if she could grab it and was snapped at with an extremely rude tone. Tried to tell her it was paid for and before I could finish my sentence she said "I don't care, you have to wait in the line". Once again in a very rude tone. After I got my food at the counter, I was opening the bags to check the order. I was told by a different worker at the counter that it's all there, not to worry. I visited True West Coffee (19 Aug) based on the reviews. While this place is peaceful and cute, the service was not the greatest, and the skill when making espresso based drinks was less than exceptional. The barista did not tamp the grounds in the portafilter causing a very loose and quick extraction of the espresso greatly reducing flavor profile. While frothing the milk, the barista did not allow enough air into the pitcher allowing for a consistent texture and consistency for a latte, and also admitting that they don't know how to do that. Although not required, the barista working at a gourmet coffee shop, had no ability to create latte art when pouring the milk. There seemed to be a lack of skill and understanding of what goes into a gourmet coffee shop. read more

So blessed that the closest local coffee shop to us is True West! Whether you're just a drip coffee person or like the flavored stuff, you'll love your coffee from here. It's really one of the only coffee shops I've found where the drip coffee is flavorful and not overly roasty going on burnt/bitter. And their flavored lattes are delicious too and not super sugary. They also do a drink punch card where you get a free drink after so many purchases so be sure to grab one. Also love the space. Cozy with two floors to suit your mood. They also have a drive-thru which is accessible via the alley. They have food too, which you can't order via the drive-thru but can online to have ready for pickup. Food is ok, I prefer getting any sandwich on a bagel otherwise it's panini pressed (even the burrito), but I don't judge coffee shops on food. The egg, cheese, and bacon is probably the safest bet. They also have baked goods. Lots of latte options, and great names for them, to choose from at True West! I enjoyed the Big Papi with brown sugar, molasses & cinnamon. In my opinion, a latte that is good all year. My husband had the Nutty Irishman and it was one of the best Irish lattes we've had, it had a creamy/nutty/stout taste to it. Yum! It's a bit crowded near the counter/order area (the cafe is in an older home converted to cafe). The Breakfast Burrito just sounded good, so I ordered one for a little brunch snack. This was a good sized burrito, more of a meal than a snack. It was grilled and filled with egg, avocado and tomato. The atmosphere is charming and set in a historic house in downtown Hamilton. Alexander Hamilton sets the theme, he's on the logo and you can even find a huge mural of him on a building neighboring the cafe. A nice patio in the back has seating and another mural. And they have a drive through! Check out the paintings throughout the cafe, they reminded me of my childhood. The upstairs seating and views of downtown was my favorite. read more

The severs are sweet and brought my food & drink to my table while I sat in their peaceful, cute dining room. They also have a drive thru & outdoor dining. The menu is complete with sandwiches, salads, wraps & all kinds of delicious coffee, tea. Also, great music! of different genres minus the not so good genres. Lol! I loved this place. It's super cute. The staff are sweet, friendly, prompt and accurate. Is nice and easy to order. It's warm and cozy with beautiful hip decor. I loved the bars in front of the windows. They're made of doors. The stools are comfy, unlike those awkward stools everyone is getting these days. These are the perfect people watching seats. The ceilings are huge, probably due to the fact that this is an older building. There are food options although, we went just for the coffee. Desserts looked pretty good though. There are many options for coffees and teas. There's smoothies for the kids. I liked being able to choose a 12 or 16 oz. Drink. Not some awkward translation like other coffee shops. It became popular enough that they opened a new location. It's almost right in front of the Alexander Hamilton statue. This makes it pretty easy to find. It has more of a hipster atmosphere. They play lots of hipster alternative and no bro country shit. I had a True West Latte and the Hippie sandwich. The latte is about $3.50 for a medium. It's made with figs. This gives it a sweetness. Be sure to get something to eat. The sandwich is made with avocado and hummus. It only sucks because of the parking. It has a few tables inside.
