Friendly little diner tho' it says Restaurant. Is warm and cozy and feels more like a diner for breakfast brunch or dinner. They are not an evening eatery but their biscuits and gravy are on point if you even know what truly good gravy is. The service is a little slow but this place is not where you come if you're in a hurry. You have to take time to relax and enjoy your meal and there's not a better place to grab a delicious, southern cooking style meal in a close by friendly place. Stop in..you will feel welcomed.

Really nice people. It's a small place and they optimize the space they have. We went with a party of 6 and it took a long time, but the food was good and the price was affordable. The servings were pretty generous. If you aren't in a hurry and want some down home cooking then this is for you. Cons are no healthy options and the food was pretty greasy. 2 stars but bump up because the people were so nice.

Love this little place, it's a small restaurant and the food is OK and but the people are really nice and I've been taking my kids there for years it's been our little breakfast place for a very long time definitely worth stopping in.

Always good food. The bisects & gravy are really good. They also have more parking now.

Just a small town old fashion diner, with good quality American style food. I've eaten there over 30 times and never had a bad meal.

But what I remember most of all is the food, particularly ducking into a little shop off a piazza somewhere to grab whatever I could buy and eat while we walked to our next sightseeing destination--a pastry, a slice of pizza, or a sandwich. At Alveo, I almost feel like I'm right back there. The restaurant is small and lively, not a place to linger exactly but a place where you can tell you'll be taken care of. Just as many patrons are ordering to go as they are to stay. And the sandwiches? Good enough to power many, many steps of sightseeing across cobblestones, or just get you through the afternoon at your home or office in Cincinnati. They've absolutely nailed the ingredients on every sandwich I've tried, with high-quality components selected specifically for how they go together. (Like those little sandwich shops in Europe, there are no substitutions here--unless you'd like gluten free bread.) The bread? Unreal how it can hold these constructions together while being soft and delicious. The meats? Perfection. The cheese? Incredible. That pistachio stuff? I see it in my dreams. The one area where Alveo definitely deviates from its European brethren is portion size--these sandwiches are huge! They come in a paper wrapper, inside a to-go box, and believe me, you will probably need it. Each time I've been to Alveo I've ended up eating about half the sandwich for lunch and the rest for dinner, maybe with a snack in between, and felt perfectly satisfied for the day. So, yes, the $20+ price tag might discourage you, but don't let it. It's a $20 investment in a very, very delicious day.

I did a quick search and turned to go to Trail Haus. I parked and walked in and asked for options since I had never eaten here. The young lady behind the counter gave me several options and I chose the "Dagwood" and a water with potato salad vs potato chips. I sad down at the counter. And about 5 or so minutes went by for the huge sandwich and potato salad came out. The sandwich was very tasty and I will say a yummy Dagwood. Now me personally I am not a fan of dill so the potato salad wasn't my favorite sadly. It was still good but again. I don't like dill and it had dill so if like me choose something else. Again the sandwich was huge and I took half home and ate it the next day and it was still very yummy. I would gladly order this again. The place was very clean including the bathroom. Everyone on staff seemed very polite. I would gladly come back and I recommend this location if you are in the area. There is also a bicycle shop attached so if riding a bike trail or needing something new, I am sure they will take care of you while you enjoy a yummy meal.

The menu has a good selection with the counter having signs about many specials. Everything is fresh and creative. They do not have kids meals so I ordered bubba cakes for the kids to share. They loved the pancakes and it came with bacon. My husband tried the chili and it comes with a side of cornbread.

There is a small parking lot plus street parking available. One interesting thing is the numerous old photos of Hamilton hanging on the walls. There is even one of the building back in the day! We ordered an Anna's pretzel with beer cheese and horse cheese as an appetizer. It was one of the best soft pretzels I've eaten! Large, warm and the 2 dipping sauces made a great accompaniment. We ordered a Reuben and fish and chips also. They were yummy as well. The bar tender/waitress was very attentive and pleasant. The prices are very moderate. The waitress seemed helpful enough, though, as there's weren't many customers this early in the evening, she was too busy watching the Winter Olympics to give me more than the cursory attention needed to bring my food out and take my payment. But the food definitely made up for that. This is made-from-scratch creativity at its finest. I got the Reuben's Stones, expecting a fried fritter, but got a delicate, made-like-my-mamma-would pastry instead. It was soft and doughy inside, and jam-packed with corned beef. The fish in the fish and chips was huge, hot, and right out of the fryer. And the fries had to be made from scratch, because I've never seen that particular shape come out of a freezer bag: they looked cut naturally from the round, and were also hot and tasty. And the warm butter cake was as amazing as everyone said. Actually it's this small squat cake that looks like a muffin -- until you cut into it and realize it's soaked in syrup inside & absolutely delicious. The only disappointment were the green beans --- they were overcooked and mushy -- though maybe that's how English green beans are authentically cooked. Overall, though, my visit was a real adventure filled with authentic and delicious surprises. I will definitely be back to try more.
