Friendly little diner tho' it says Restaurant. Is warm and cozy and feels more like a diner for breakfast brunch or dinner. They are not an evening eatery but their biscuits and gravy are on point if you even know what truly good gravy is. The service is a little slow but this place is not where you come if you're in a hurry. You have to take time to relax and enjoy your meal and there's not a better place to grab a delicious, southern cooking style meal in a close by friendly place. I HATE writing this review. Stick to the BASICS (fried eggs and perhaps the special of the day?,?who knows). Otherwise... So far, this place has all of the charm and none of the quality of a small town comfort-food diner. you know when every food item is subpar, and then all of a sudden other, little things feel like unnecessary errors? This is that place. To be fair, my main course, a blt , was fine. I sort of thought I was getting the double decker, but the waitress didn't ask, and I ended up with the flat sandwich. I asked for some extra tomato and mayonnaise, which I received I also asked for new ice in my water, which came that way. Good. (About 50% of the time when I eat out, I end up with water with ice) Waitress was beaming a bit about the cabbage. Turns out, it was overcooked to a bit of a mush, had no flavor, no salt, and had I think exactly 3 small bits of ham. The entire dish had no flavor unless there was a piece of ham in the spoon. I added salt. Based on the recommendation of other yelpers, I got the biscuits and gravy. Seems to be a bit of a specialty here. In fact, the waitress in a bit of a comment, also with a twinkle in her eye (she's very nice), biscuits and gravy are "really good." Nothing of the sort. Did not have any discernible flavor in the gravy. And the gravy seemed completely unsalted as well. Sadly, the sausage pieces in the gravy had the consistency of flavor of some thing made with too much wheat flour, like a meatloaf, gone awry... The sausage pieces were not discernibly salty, and did not taste like sausage. One of them was so dense that it could not cut through it with a spoon, and had a hard time cutting through with teeth . Ohio abandoned the piece Overall, the dish was Not fatty, not salty, no sausage flavor...what's the point? For what it's worth, the biscuits were fantastic. Really nice people. It's a small place and they optimize the space they have. We went with a party of 6 and it took a long time, but the food was good and the price was affordable. The servings were pretty generous. If you aren't in a hurry and want some down home cooking then this is for you. Cons are no healthy options and the food was pretty greasy. 2 stars but bump up because the people were so nice. read more

Very small quaint restaurant. Family owned and ran. Breakfast: Their Biscuits and gravy are amazing. Biscuits the size of your face! I love saving a half of one for honey or their homemade jam. Their pancakes are delicious! Order goetta extra crispy. Lunch: Pork Chop lunch special is just like your grandma made it. So good. I love their BLT as well. If you can catch one of their dinner specials don't even hesitate. They are usually around the holidays. read more

Greasiest, dirtiest place I've eaten in, in who knows how long. Breakfast items are covered in grease and consist of fried eggs, potatoes, pancakes, bacon, sausage. The grapefruit juice is equivalent to grapefruit soda. The people dining here appear to be locals, so maybe they are used to this place and have accepted it! read more

A small diner that's nothing fancy but a great place for a country breakfast, which is what I have every time I go there.

I'm not sure that I would drive out of my way to go to this restaurant, but if you're in the near vicinity, why not check it out. If I'm in town, I usually like to go there for breakfast. We went there today for dinner. I had the Easter special which was turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, dressing, and a dinner roll. All of that for $6.95. All of the food was home made and it was quite tasty. Two of us had the special anyone had the battered pork tenderloin which was also tasty. They had about 10 different homemade pies for dessert @$2.65 a slice I ordered mine (apple) to go. She brought it warm and I decided to taste it. It was so good that I ate most of it before I left. The owner is a 73 year old lady that gets up EVERY morning to come in, open up and get the food going. Her daughters come in later to take over. She goes home and then comes back to close. That's what I call a family business. It's a small place and the crowd is an elderly crowd. I hope more people continue to support this jewel of a place in a small town. I'm definitely a fan. We go here quite often. Food is good and very reasonable. I just Love Saturday after 10am as they have Southern Fried Pork Chops. Two to a order with Mashed and corn. Breakfast is very good also. My dad and I tried this place for the first time today. I got the chili and grilled cheese. What a disappointment on the chili! It was so watery, lacked flavor and hardly nothing in it but a few chunks of hamburger a few beans and maybe i found 2 pieces of onion. Grilled cheese was good though but how can you mess that up lol. Dad ordered a ham and beef double decker and it was on a bun. What?! In my whole life I have never had a double decker on a bun and he ask for white toast anyways. There was way more ham than beef and way too much mayo. He also had onion rings and they were meh. As far as the waitress goes, she was sorta friendly but never came back to ask if everything was ok or if we wanted soda refills. We will never go back. read more

So, we came in here for the first time today and regret it 100%. The bacon was burnt, the eggs were bland, the pancakes tasted like knockoff bisquick and the home fries were unseasoned mushy potatoes. After taking our order (without even looking at us), our waitress never checked in. Two unenjoyable breakfast specials with coffees set us back sixteen dollars, and we are never ever going back. Go get a McDonalds breakfast instead, you'd probably enjoy it more. read more

I always get 2 buttermilk pancakes with syrup, "homefries", and bacon, in which is is about the greatest bacon i have ever had!

Always have good authentic biscuits and gravy. The place is small and cozy and they have homemade jams on the tables for usage. Yumm.
